00:00I mean, I think it's interesting. It's become this sort of national talking point, it seems like, because this isn't
00:06anything that Miles Garrett hasn't done in the past.
00:09He's like never at these OTAs. We know that. We know where he's been. He's posted on his Instagram.
00:13He's been all over the place traveling and he normally does at this time of year.
00:17Now, do I think it's necessarily what he should be doing? Like, I don't I don't know.
00:22But I do know that that's the reality and it's not necessarily any different.
00:27Like, I wish he had been there in the sense of he's one of the best players on the team.
00:32And I think it helps set the culture. But you can't really hold it against him and say, oh, something
00:38could be brewing based on this and this alone.
00:40When it's just how we've seen Miles Garrett approach these voluntary sessions the whole time I've covered the team since
00:462021.
00:48Ashley Bass dot Cleveland dot com, the Brown and Orange talk or rather the Orange and Brown talk podcast in
00:54the previous segment.
00:54Talking about what has really a story that has become two decidedly strong camps and really nothing in between.
01:03There are people who think that Miles Garrett not having met Todd Munkin yet is the biggest nothing burger of
01:10nothing burgers ever.
01:12And the people on the other side who think it's definitely something I think our boss, Keith, is definitely on
01:18one side because he is he on the something side.
01:20Well, yeah, because Schefter tweeted out about Munkin's answer about Miles and then we got a hmm out of Keith.
01:29Well, there was there was definitely something working at the old four letter network today because they were talking about
01:33it a lot today.
01:34You got the Schefter retweet Pete Schrager come on now doing the Lord's work shouting us out.
01:39I think we should play that.
01:40I think we got to get into this because it was normally I don't think we would do.
01:45We would definitely do it.
01:46We're just that we're those we're famed up.
01:47It's OK.
01:48It's all right.
01:48That's fine.
01:48Yeah, but he actually tries to make a real I guess I would say point in response to what we
01:54were saying yesterday.
01:54I don't know that we actually included the point he was trying to make because all I wanted our names.
01:59All I wanted was the name drop that we got from Pete Schrager on NFL Live yesterday.
02:04So the Cavs play the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals game one.
02:07I'm scrolling Twitter.
02:08I see 92 three the fan.
02:10I see my guys Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterlin.
02:13And what are they talking about?
02:14They're talking about Miles Garrett and the fact that he's not there.
02:17And their point was this is not a story.
02:19Let's not make a story out of this.
02:21This is what he did last year until June 9th when it's mandatory.
02:25Why are we even talking about this?
02:26I think it could be a story.
02:28New head coach, new defensive coordinator, new fresh blood.
02:34Maybe it's Deshaun Watson playing at quarterback for the first time in four years.
02:39Why isn't it a story that their star player and the best player for the franchise in the last nearly
02:45two decades,
02:46maybe since Joe Thomas wasn't there at OTAs, could he have shown up?
02:51Look, I know it's going to be nearly impossible to get us riled up and ready to go about doing
02:56Miles Garrett trade talk in May after we went through all the free agency and all of the draft.
03:02But it all goes away if Miles Garrett shows up with a happy face.
03:07Now, we agree on the premise of this, but he shouted us out, so good take, Pete.
03:16That's the analysis?
03:17This is an agree to disagree situation.
03:19He gave a lot of reasons for why he disagreed with our assessment there.
03:22Listen, it could be.
03:23It's probably not.
03:24But it could be.
03:25I like that.
03:26I like that out of Pete.
03:27You thought he waffled a little bit there.
03:29You've got to understand, I've been asking Ross Tucker, is it four years now?
03:34It's been a long time.
03:35To just say, my guy, Nick Wilson, I've even amended it to put you in there.
03:40Thank you for that.
03:40Very generous of you.
03:41I'm a team player.
03:42Yeah, thank you.
03:43Odyssey, one thing.
03:45But I ask him, just throw it out there on a Browns cast.
03:48The best we've gotten is Cleveland Sports Talk Radio.
03:50You get three of them a year, and he's threatening to put anybody else's name in there.
03:54I almost sent this directly to Ross, actually, now that I've thought about it.
03:58I'm going to send this directly to Ross.
04:00He'll be encouraged by someone as famous and as important in the industry as Peter Schrager
04:04saying our names and doing it the proper way.
04:06And we didn't even bait Peter into it.
04:08That's the best part of this.
04:09He just offered it up.
04:11That being said, we disagree on this matter, but I thought he made a good case because he
04:15said our names on air.
04:16Is that right?
04:17Yeah.
04:17I disagree with him.
04:19But man, the joie de vivre that he made that point with, can't argue with that.
04:25I do feel like he was trying to almost attach a Lamar Jackson conversation to Miles Garrett.
04:29And when it's quarterbacks versus defensive ends versus pass rushers, I do feel like it's
04:33a different bucket.
04:34A lot of people are upset.
04:35Lamar, by the way, was there already in Baltimore.
04:38He's met his new head coach, okay?
04:39Different story from that perspective.
04:41But Lamar has not been there all week when their OTAs got kicked off.
04:44And there's a lot of people in Baltimore that are upset by that.
04:47And I feel like that is.
04:47There's a real discussion to be had when your quarterback is not there with a brand new head
04:52coach, brand new OC, brand new everything.
04:54I just don't adopt that story and put it to Miles Garrett.
04:57Yeah.
04:58I think this is just such a part of Miles behavior for as long as we've known Miles that there's
05:04a point that it's like, all of the ideas behind it are well-founded.
05:09And I get it.
05:10And I do think at some point, with Miles, it always feels like if there's enough smoke,
05:14there will be fire.
05:16But at this point, I need to actually see some freaking fire.
05:18Sure.
05:19But I'm not going to ignore the idea that people like Peter Schrager are saying, we
05:23don't know for certain something's happening.
05:25But obviously, there's a reason why they're bringing it up.
05:27And I'm not going to ignore that he said Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterlin on ESPN.
05:32And after I put it on my Instagram story, he then posted it on his Instagram story.
05:39Are you going to come over to the Schrager dark side?
05:40Oh, I did.
05:41I've been propping him up for years.
05:42I think you and I have said, you're Schrager in this scenario.
05:46And I'm Fat Kyle Brandt.
05:47That's right.
05:48And I should probably Fat Ugly Kyle Brandt.
05:51You don't have to throw that in there for yourself.
05:53Oh, well, he's kind of like a movie star good looking.
05:56We know.
05:56Yeah.
05:57Yeah.
05:57You don't have to do that to yourself.
05:59But you got to be honest.
06:00You don't have to add the ugly part.
06:02You're the truth broker.
06:03I think fat would have been sufficient.
06:05I think that would have been enough.
06:07So are you saying all fat people are ugly?
06:09No.
06:09I'm saying you didn't have to add the ugly part to yourself.
06:11Was it assumed?
06:12No.
06:13I just wouldn't have done it.
06:14I just mean to yourself is all that is.
06:16That's okay.
06:16Be nicer to yourself.
06:17Well, but against Kyle Brandt.
06:20Yeah.
06:20And the fat part was good enough.
06:21Yeah.
06:22If you compare me to a less attractive person, I can be like, I'm the handsome version of
06:27that guy.
06:28All right.
06:28Who do you think you're the handsome version of that guy?
06:30Jelly Roll.
06:32That was a good, quick answer.
06:33No, not really.
06:35He's lost a lot of weight.
06:36I think he had that affair.
06:37Things are going well for him.
06:38If we did like a, what was those old websites where you'd like, you'd rate yourself?
06:42Was it a shoot?
06:43What was the website?
06:44Fapello.
06:45Not Fapello.
06:46Oh, that's a new website.
06:47Do you remember?
06:47There was a website when I was like a teenager.
06:50You post your pics.
06:51Wasn't it just rate yourself?
06:52It was something very obvious like that.
06:54Yeah.
06:54Very, very obvious.
06:55Anyway, if we did that of you versus Jelly Roll, you don't think you're winning that battle?
06:59No, I don't think so.
07:00Hot or not.com.
07:01That's what it was.
07:02Yeah.
07:02Hot or not.
07:03Because people are going to say.
07:04And it was very basic.
07:05You're either hot or you're not.
07:06People are going to say, I know this fat guy.
07:08I don't know this fat guy.
07:10He's going to win on fame alone.
07:12Yeah.
07:13William Hung.
07:14If you put me up against William Hung, I would win against him.
07:18Some people think he's delightful.
07:20Who?
07:21I don't know.
07:21Okay.
07:22I don't know.
07:22But thank you, Peter.
