Transcript
00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning.
00:04It is warming up from the south but we do have some wet weather around this morning as well,
00:09all courtesy of low pressure sitting towards the northwest.
00:12Weather fronts extending from the southwest across more northern and western areas of the country
00:17and that remains the case as we head through the day and into tonight.
00:22Yeah, there you can see warming up from the south, high pressure sitting across the near continent
00:27and the influence of that will eventually affect most of us as we head through the bank holiday weekend.
00:33This morning though, mostly dry to start the day across Shetland, KTHS.
00:37You can see the bank of rain though moving northwards.
00:39We're seeing some wet weather overnight for Northern Ireland.
00:41Still a bit drizzly here, similar situation for the Midlands, Northern England, West Wales.
00:46Further south, the cloud will break through the morning.
00:49We're likely to see some of the brighter skies coming through.
00:52Here's that weather front then slowly pushing northwards.
00:55So eventually we'll see that wet weather arrive across the far north of Scotland.
00:59The cloud could break at times through the day across Northern Ireland, perhaps one or two showers
01:04and we could see some showers breaking out across western Scotland through the afternoon.
01:09Notice across more windward facing coast, more cloud here and again, a showery burst can't be ruled out.
01:14But for most across England and Wales, as well as eastern Scotland, you should see a fine end to the
01:19day
01:19with some bright weather, if not some sunshine showers towards the west there
01:22before more cloud and rain arrives across Northern Ireland later.
01:26Here are your temperatures then through the afternoon.
01:2918 to 20 across Scotland and Northern Ireland, so pleasantly warm in any brighter breaks.
01:35Across England and Wales, a similar situation really, probably 20 in the north, 22 for the Midlands,
01:41East Wales and then towards the southeast, we're likely to see a 24 degrees Celsius.
01:46Towards the far southwest, more of a breeze here, keeping things a little bit fresher,
01:50even so a respectable 18 Celsius, a much warmer end to the working week.
01:56So that's the pictures we head through this afternoon.
01:59So there's still some wet weather around and that again will extend across more northwestern areas
02:04through this evening and overnight.
02:07Clearer skies across England and Wales, we hang on to more cloud across central and northern areas of Scotland
02:13and still one or two showers in the mix here, but some clearer skies coming through
02:17and again that cloud remains in place across the far west there.
02:23So into Friday morning, it starts on a mild note, 13, 14 degrees Celsius.
02:30As we head through the day, yes, there will be some strong sunshine around.
02:34This weak weather front here continues to feed a little bit more cloud across the Irish sea coast
02:39as that showery rain tracks northwards.
02:41Towards the east, fine weather across Scotland and some fine weather across England and Wales
02:45and brightening up at times across Northern Ireland as well.
02:48It's going to feel warm in that sunshine, high UV levels as temperatures arrive 19 or 20 towards Scotland
02:55and Northern Ireland, but we could see a 28 towards the southeast, 26 for East Wales as well as the
03:00Midlands.
03:01Now into Saturday, a fine start to the day, mostly dry.
03:04A few showers towards the far northwest, but for most it's a fine afternoon as temperatures again arrive
03:10around 21 to 28 degrees Celsius.
03:13Into Sunday, that showery rain associated with that weather front attempts to push in,
03:18but shelter across Scotland.
03:20Yes, you'll see some fine conditions, some sunshine through the afternoon.
03:24Temperatures a degree higher here, 21 Celsius.
03:27We're likely to reach 30 across the home counties.
03:29And for mid-Wales, probably 25, 26 Celsius, 24 down towards the west country along this east coasted, 26, 27.
03:37It's worth noting though that pollen levels will be high.
03:40This is grass pollen now, particularly across England and Wales.
03:43And UV levels will be high where you catch that sunshine, strong sunshine,
03:47where we'll see little clouds across England and Wales.
03:50So that's the picture on Sunday.
03:52Bank holiday Monday will be even warmer.
03:55Lots of sunshine to be had.
03:56And that extends into next week.
03:58I'll see you later.
