05:24Well, switches were conducted for Indira and Passat, alongside with CJS Police and Air Support.
05:32But we will give them some more updates on that in a little bit.
05:36Of course.
05:37Yeah?
05:37Yeah, most definitely, because we have a lot to discuss today.
05:39Yes, we do.
05:40So let's, no time to waste, let's dive straight into it.
05:42Tell us about your missions.
05:44All right, well, the first one, really, actually, Kenneth McLean.
05:50His sister took him to the hospital, and, you know, she stepped away for, like, a few minutes just to
05:56go and fill his prescription, and he disappeared.
05:59It just started, you know, walking, and these things happen at times.
06:03People will just start walking.
06:06Switches was conducted by one of our teammates, Jameer Khan, because he was, somebody was spotted alongside the highway on
06:14the southbound.
06:15Yes.
06:16In the Chiguanas area.
06:17And, along with a citizen by the name of Chris, and here, as you can see, Jameer Khan is on
06:29the southbound of the highway here.
06:31Yes.
06:33And they found him in Endeavor under a tree.
06:38Wow.
06:39Sitting down on a truck tire.
06:43Now, he was, he said cell conditions is not the best, so after finding him, they contacted the EMS, and
06:52took him back to the hospital, so that he can get treatment.
06:58What's it, dementia, or a state of dementia, or?
07:00Well, not to my knowledge.
07:02Okay.
07:02To my knowledge, you know, things like this, when it happens, we will think it's dementia or Alzheimer's, you know.
07:09So, but when you're not well, you're ill, sometimes you just start to walk, you know, you're looking to move
07:21away.
07:22Yes, from whatever the situation may be.
07:24And, I mean, you just want to get away.
07:28Let's put it like that.
07:29You want to get away, you know, and you want to head back home.
07:32And those are the things that people always look to do.
07:33They look to go back home.
07:35Yeah.
07:35Well, I'm happy that we were able to get information on finding him.
07:39Oh, yeah.
07:39I mean, there are times that you would not find people.
07:42I mean, you know, but we would prefer that they are found alive and well, in good health and spirits.
07:52Yes.
07:54Thankfully, in this case, he was seeking shelter, you know, and the rain was not pouring and pouring.
08:00That will, you know, that will get him more sick as well.
08:02Yes, yeah.
08:02You know.
08:03So, the family is happy, most important.
08:05Yes.
08:05The sister especially is very happy and relieved.
08:08Yeah.
08:08So, we're going to Mission 2 for today.
08:10Tell us a little bit more about that.
08:11Yes.
08:11So, Mission 2 in Daruram Passat, you know, he has been missing for seven days.
08:17They got called this morning.
08:18Yes.
08:20And, as I said, Captain Valance and CJS Police, along with air support, they went to, as you can see
08:27here,
08:28they went to conduct their searches in Cedrus, Icaka, Cedrus.
08:32This is our Bushman, as we would call him.
08:34Yes, yes, yes.
08:35The ultimate Bushman.
08:40But, more on a serious note here, and as you'll see there, as Captain Valance Rambra, they conducted
08:46their searches, and when the searches had happened, we were able to find a body that was covered.
09:01It was decomposed, and we do highly believe that it is in Daruram Passat.
09:13Yeah.
09:13And, I mean, in this case, we send condolences to the family until further investigation.
09:19Yes.
09:19Yes, until they do their further testing and all that needs to be done, you know, just to finalize.
09:27Now, we have an update from Captain from earlier this afternoon, so let's take a listen.
09:32Sure.
09:33So, it's 2.03 p.m. here in Icaka.
09:38We've just been able to locate the body, a body, while we were searching for Indar Rambassad,
09:47H-38 was missing from Icaka seven days ago.
09:51We hear the air support unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, as well as police
09:57officers from the Cedras Police Station.
10:00They will be well with us searching, and as I said, we just located the body.
10:07We will update this force as the crime scene investigators arrive shortly.
10:16Of course.
10:17We get from Captain there, Des, and Yolo constantly busy, and I'm sure with this here, we will
10:24get some more information moving forward and closure for the family.
10:27Yes.
10:28That is correct.
10:29So, at this time, with regards to home invasions that we're seeing happening throughout the
10:34country and persons having concerns, we have some information from advisory from the ACP
10:40Criminal Division, Mr. Richard Smith.
10:43So, let's take a listen.
10:44The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is issuing a firm advisory to individuals, particularly
10:49young persons, who may be contemplating or engaging in a life of crime.
10:53There is no reward in criminality.
10:57A life of crime inevitably leads to negative consequences, loss of freedom, loss of opportunities,
11:04and in many instances, loss of life.
11:06The TTPS urges you to make better choices and choose a path that contributes positively
11:12to your future and your community.
11:15We extend an open call to all citizens to partner with us in building safer communities.
11:20Public cooperation remains a critical component in our crime prevention and detection efforts.
11:26The TTPS reiterates its zero-tolerance approach to gang activity and organized crime.
11:33We will utilize all available legal measures and resources to dismantle criminal networks
11:39and bring offenders to justice.
11:41We will not allow a small group of individuals to disrupt the peace and security of law-abiding
11:47citizens.
11:48Members of the public are strongly advised to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity
11:54or suspicious individual within their communities to the nearest police station or via designating
12:00hotlines.
12:01The investigation into this matter is ongoing and remains at the sensitive stage, but
12:06suspects still outstanding.
12:08The TTPS is actively pursuing all leads and will provide further updates as appropriate.
12:15And that was the voice of ACP Criminal Division, Mr. Richard Smith, when it comes to the home
12:21invasions that we're seeing.
12:22As we go straight into further information where persons we saw were video evidence of suspects
12:28being detained and also taken down, I have to say, by the TTPS because of these home invasions.
12:35Now, there's a crew that was identified recently with these home invasions and it is not a primary school book
12:41that you're hearing from.
12:42It is called the Tall Boots Crew and they're linked to multiple home invasions.
12:47The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service provides the following update into investigation surrounding
12:52a group of individuals, informally referred to as the Tall Boots Crew, believed to be responsible
12:58for a series of home invasion incidents across Canoopia, Las Lomas, Chaguanas, Freeport and
13:04Londonville districts over the past several weeks.
13:07On Saturday, 2nd May, 2026, officers executed a coordinated multi-agency operation which resulted
13:15in the decisive disruption of the group's activities.
13:19As a result of the operations, two suspects were arrested and four suspects were fatally
13:25wounded in separate violent confrontations with responding officers.
13:29The deceased individuals have been identified as Mikhail Guseppi of Waterhole Kokoreet, Davion
13:37Guseppi, 30 of Litres, North Canoopia, Kevin John and one additional male whose identity is
13:45yet to be established.
13:48The preliminary investigations indicate that this group is linked to approximately 24 reported
13:55home invasion incidents within the Central Division and surrounding areas.
13:59The TTPS wishes to assure the public that investigations are ongoing and remain at a sensitive stage.
14:07As such, further details will be provided when it is operationally appropriate to do so.
14:14The service remains committed to identifying, targeting and dismantling criminal groups that
14:20threaten the safety and security of our communities.
14:25That's your thoughts.
14:27The TTPS, they're trying.
14:28They're trying.
14:29They're trying.
14:30They're trying.
14:30But, you know, let me be honest.
14:33You can't blame TTPS.
14:35Some people will look back to the farm.
14:37I know.
14:39I would say maybe you can blame them on certain things.
14:42Yes.
14:42But, I mean, the crime in the country, you can't blame it on one particular party.
14:48Just like I would say that, listen, parents and guardians, you all have a huge role that
14:55we would say respect starts from home.
14:58It wouldn't start anywhere else.
15:00So, discipline will start from home.
15:03And that's what we need to be doing.
15:05From issue.
15:05Yeah.
15:06We need to deal with discipline.
15:07We need to deal with parents being parents.
15:11And we'll tell them, well, you know, they're too young to be a parent and a child make it.
15:15Yes.
15:15That has been for ages.
15:17I know what to say that.
15:18Children making children is ages.
15:20Children were getting married at 12, before I was even born.
15:23Exactly.
15:24This is going around.
15:24Yeah.
15:25Before BC.
15:26Correct.
15:26Right?
15:27So, I mean, play your part.
15:30Sorry.
15:30Maybe play your part.
15:31Do your part.
15:32Do your role.
15:33You have a responsibility.
15:34Both mommy and daddy.
15:36If both mommy and daddy is alive and around, what we used to do, the community played a part.
15:44Yes.
15:44But now, I'm not really here.
15:46Any community playing a part.
15:47The more...
15:48I mean, they're working on extras.
15:50Because even correct somebody's child, they will want to come and fight you.
15:53Let's start there.
15:55Well...
15:55Lord, yes.
15:57That's what you...
15:57You dare not speak to their child.
15:58You can't talk to the child like that.
15:59Yes.
16:00No.
16:00That's not the way.
16:02You want to go and talk to the child?
16:04Discipline the child.
16:04There's a way of disciplining.
16:07Stearn.
16:08Not shouting and bawling behind the child.
16:10That's not going to tell them, well...
16:12Yes.
16:12That's what you're going to tell them is that, okay, well, when I get older, I'm going to be shouting
16:15and bawling at you.
16:16Yes.
16:16The same way how a male figure would be shouting at a female and...
16:19Yes.
16:19And feel it's okay, it's acceptable.
16:21It's okay and it's acceptable.
16:23It's not.
16:24And the same way how you'd see a female shouting and bawling at the male.
16:27You feel that's acceptable, right?
16:28And that's wrong.
16:29We might allow that to slide.
16:31But that shouldn't be the case.
16:32But that shouldn't be the case.
16:33Yes.
16:33Because no hitting.
16:35Yes.
16:35No shouting.
16:36The man as well.
16:37Correct.
16:38As we would say, you're emasculating him.
16:40That's what you're trying to do.
16:41Yes.
16:41You know, but...
16:42And then if he lashes out, you say, well, he's an abuser.
16:47But he wasn't lashing out all the time.
16:49Yeah.
16:49He didn't do anything all the time.
16:50He used to take his licks.
16:51He used to take the emotional, the mental...
16:55Abuse.
16:55You know.
16:56And when he stood up for himself, no.
16:58No, I'm not taking anymore.
17:00And when he hit her, he's an abuser.
17:03Yeah, it's a lot.
17:05Listen, being an adult in life, that's how it is.
17:08But we have to maneuver.
17:09Let's take a look at our SOE update today.
17:11As of May 5th, 2026.
17:15Number of operations, 4,865.
17:19Number of target priority offenders, 1,593.
17:24Searches conducted, 2,585.
17:28Traffic operations, 2,815.
17:31Total persons arrested, 2,123.
17:36Total persons charged, 467.
17:40Viams recovered.
17:42We see an increase with the shotguns, giving us a total of 140.
17:46Ammunition recovered.
17:47An increase with the 9mm, also the 7.62mm, giving us a total of 3,040.
17:56We see drugs, dangerous drugs that it sees.
17:59We're seeing, again, cannabis and cocaine.
18:01Clearly, it is still, you know, a drug of choice now moving forward that we're seeing.
18:06Correct.
18:06It is.
18:07It is.
18:08I mean, that is not going to stop anytime soon, especially as you legalize it as well.
18:11I mean, it may be in a small quantity, but it's still legalized.
18:14But it's crazy to me that drug use is so on the increase now because it seems like a lot
18:20of people want to get numb.
18:22It seems like they want to get numb.
18:24They want to get numb for so many different things.
18:25You want to get numb from the pain that you feel, the hurt.
18:28A lot of them, for example, you have the young persons and they don't have their parents or guardian around
18:38or the environment that they're in.
18:41It's abusive.
18:42Yeah.
18:42So they move away from that abuse and they would end up meeting somebody else who would be a mother
18:47to them or a father to them.
18:49And they come and give them anything and, no, you could take this.
18:53It would make you feel good.
18:54And they feel good about themselves.
18:56They give them a little something.
18:57They smoke a little something.
18:58And it increases from there.
18:59And then you feel good about that.
19:01And then we think it's okay.
19:04So what it is right now, and I hope the parents are paying attention.
19:07Be observant to your children.
19:08And try not to be friends.
19:10Be a parent.
19:11Let's take a look at today's headlines.
19:40And those are your stories making today's headlines.
19:42Remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 and 1997.
19:48We take that break.
19:49We'll be back.
20:01At Cruisin Hotel and Yachting Center, we're all about time.
20:05In fact, once you check in, there's no time to lose.
20:09Reconnect with a little family time.
20:12Make a splash with some pool time.
20:15Spend some treasured quality time.
20:17Or just immerse yourself in some quiet time.
20:20Indulge your senses at dinner time.
20:23We even have the perfect venue when it's your celebration time.
20:27So it's high time you visit Cruisin.
20:31Choose our day pass or call 607-4000 to make your dinner or hotel reservations.
20:37Or to find out more about our event spaces.
20:40Take a time out at Cruisin Hotel and Yachting Center.
20:46We'll be back.
20:47I'm coming in fast.
20:48First place, you coming in last.
20:50It is 2026.
20:53And Trinidad and Tobago, you know it.
20:56You love sports.
20:57No filter, only iSports with Andre Arrobatis.
21:01I'm coming in fast. First place, you coming in last.
21:05If you love the play, if you love the same,
21:08tune in iSports every Thursday and Saturday on I-95.5 FM.
21:15I've been driving up to motions.
21:17Rule number one, never be number two.
21:19Now you gotta watch. Win, win, win.
21:21Fear on. Game on. The fear factor is back.
21:25Do not relax, relax, relax.
21:29Fast, I'm coming in fast. First place, you coming in last, last, last, last, last, last, last.
21:46And welcome back. If you're now joining us, we have Des in for Captain Rambarat here this evening as we
21:52move forward.
21:52Remember, you could give us a call, but we get straight in to missing persons.
21:55Since the month of April, ending with 17 reports of missing persons, nine remaining outstanding.
22:01So you could give us more info.
22:03Yes. Well, what we want to highlight, actually, is the three outstanding in particular this time.
22:09One will be Jabari George.
22:11Yes.
22:13He's our repeat runaway, right?
22:16At age 15 and running away so often, I mean, there will be so many stories to be told as
22:21to why he will be running away.
22:23Yeah.
22:24But we continue to work with the family and looking at safely locating him.
22:30And we hope to safely locate him and nothing else to happen.
22:33In regards to Shania Waldron, who has been missing since the 28th of April, thankfully, we have gotten some credible
22:44information that she has been safely located in the Talparo district.
22:50Okay. Great news.
22:51And moving on to Jediah Denzel.
22:56We are currently working alongside police and locating him because this is the first time he has gone missing.
23:04We have gotten some information, but we have to go and, let's say, go and look into those places.
23:13And to make sure, you know, we need to just finalize before we go running helter-skelter.
23:19Yes.
23:19You know, sometimes some stuff will come in and you will think it's credible enough and you will go.
23:24But we wouldn't disclose any.
23:26Yeah, we should.
23:27Or discredit any, I should say.
23:28Not disclose, but discredit any of them.
23:30And we do follow up on them just to make sure.
23:32Yes.
23:33So those are the persons that are missing for?
23:35The month of April.
23:37For the month of April, correct.
23:38We're going to May.
23:39We're early in May, you know.
23:40Yes, we're in May already and, you know, eight reports already.
23:44Right?
23:45And five, well, it will be four now.
23:48Stephen McQuay, he has been, as you understand, roaming in the Port of Spain district from Woodbrook.
23:58What I do understand, he has been sighted in Port of Spain itself moving around.
24:06And, but, you know, when you reach into Port of Spain itself, there's so many places that you could go
24:11into.
24:12So we are working with police.
24:15If seen, please call 555-999 or 799-1453.
24:24The other one is Israel Bertrand, rather.
24:29He was spotted on Harris Promenade.
24:32We don't understand that he has some blood on his face.
24:37I'm not sure why.
24:39But he was, as I said, he was spotted on Harris Promenade.
24:43And, again, if you have any information on Israel Bertrand, call 555-999 or 799-1453.
24:54And the third one is Nicosi Gomez.
24:58He went out a week with his mother.
25:01What?
25:02Right?
25:02As you can see, he's from San Gerundi.
25:04They went out a week and he took his mother's vehicle, drove off with it.
25:11Now, he does not have a driver's license.
25:14So, and that's his mother's vehicle, a PBL 6172.
25:22A burgundy, looks like it's in burgundy type color here.
25:27And drove off.
25:28Now, where he went to us yet, we are not sure.
25:32If he went for a joyride, we don't know.
25:36Maybe he went down 0.14 for the Borrow Day celebrations.
25:38Well, I don't know, but that is a crazy move.
25:41You know, but it's still missing.
25:44And, again, any information, call 555-999-799-1453.
25:52And then we have Elric Lewis.
25:55And Elric Lewis, he's a elderly gentleman.
25:59Now, this one here, he is struggling mentally.
26:06And so, as I say, his exact mental state, we are not sure, but we are working with the family
26:12in trying to locate him.
26:15And the last one, of course, but is supposedly not missing anymore, which would be Indira Rampasad.
26:22Yes, yes.
26:23Who went missing.
26:25Who last seen in the carcass and now found in Cedras, badly decomposed.
26:32That's sad.
26:34Yes, it's really sad to be seeing these kind of things that happen, especially when you go out there and
26:41you find these bodies.
26:43I mean, it's never an easy moment for a person.
26:50And we literally carry this back with us.
26:55I wouldn't say it's every day.
26:56I mean, because you do have your good times.
26:59So, I'm saying good times, and I'm saying it like that because you go out.
27:03For example, hikers are lost.
27:05We go up and we find them.
27:06We bring them back safely.
27:07I mean, there are times that, you know, hikers wasn't lost.
27:13You know, that and all wasn't a good time.
27:17Those would be, you know, the relieved moments, you know.
27:22Children of missing, they were found, they become relieved.
27:26I mean, one of the greatest miracles, I'll tell anybody, was Janiah, right, who got washed down from the floods.
27:34It is one of the greatest miracles that the country has ever seen.
27:37It has seen which part that she passed.
27:42I mean, we did the whole river.
27:45We passed the whole river, we crossed the bridge, everything.
27:48There was, and she came out without any lacerations or bruising, like huge bruising, or bruising to the face, like
27:59a lot of bruising like that.
28:00Everything was very minor.
28:02You could barely see it.
28:03And where she passed, you would try to understand how did she survive without bruises.
28:13But is it that you will ever get accustomed, dealing with now the bad side of it, seeing a decomposing
28:21body, how are you all able to, is it nothing you'll get accustomed to?
28:26No, you know what happens?
28:28People become numb at points.
28:30You'll become numb.
28:31Even officers and all, EMT, FAD, they will become numb at certain points because when you go there, it's, like,
28:39they will try to, some, not all, some will, like, okay, yeah, let me just do this and get out
28:45of it.
28:45That, that's how they will be feeling, you know, when, you know, you're there, you know, you have your duty
28:51and all that kind of stuff to do.
28:54But when you go back home with that, you need to be able to still speak to somebody about it.
29:00We are unable to speak to persons outside of it, especially when investigations are going on.
29:07You know, you can't talk about it, be lucky, like, you know, we can't speak to each member, you know,
29:13or we do counsel them.
29:15What would you get into this field, though, as in to give service, give back, to help?
29:20Well, I mean, this field in particular is what we're talking about.
29:23Yes, yes.
29:23Okay.
29:24I know you wear many hats.
29:26But this one in particular.
29:28Somebody whistled?
29:29Yes.
29:29Okay.
29:30All right.
29:31Well, in this case, the then commissioner, Gary Griffith, he made a call for hunters and hikers to assist with
29:41the search for Andrea Barrett.
29:44Yes.
29:44Right.
29:45And I saw it.
29:46And then persons who hike as well, they called and they asked me if, you know, if they say something
29:54that they knew I would want to do.
29:56Yeah.
29:56So I decided to say, you know what, yes, we'll go.
30:00And we decided to go out there.
30:02And it wasn't the best of moments.
30:07It wouldn't be.
30:07You know, I mean, I try to keep a smile on my face regardless because even when you're talking about
30:15it, even recently we went to see the family members.
30:18Yes.
30:18And because they have the, you know, the memorial, you know.
30:24Yeah.
30:28And it's hurting, you know, when you have to see them, you can actually feel their pain.
30:34And the thing about being there that day as well because we were with myself, another member of Inanna Ryan,
30:47Carissa Hernandez, who was also a family member.
30:52And one of the officers is also a family member.
30:54They were cousins.
30:56Not was, they are cousins.
30:58They are cousins.
30:59And we were there.
31:01And when we got that, you know, she was found and explained and all that.
31:05And to leave where we are to go and meet them, it is like you, you, you have your little
31:14proportions in here, right?
31:15So it's, it's, yeah, you, nah.
31:19How are you going to break that news to the family members, right?
31:24You know, and to the father, the mother, the cousins, the, you know, I mean, the aunts, the grandmother, you
31:31know.
31:31That's not easy to break it to anybody.
31:33You know, your child is no longer here.
31:37You know, so, I mean, as I said, they had to look out for each other, you know.
31:45But the thing is that I decided that, we decided, I should say, that we will continue doing this, you
31:53know, because there's this gap.
31:57The TGPS is overloaded with a lot of work.
32:01There will need so many of them, you know, and they would still need the people to assist them, regardless
32:07at the end of the day, you know.
32:09And you all are there.
32:10We are trying our best to assist them as best as we possibly can.
32:14Now, there's something we want to take a look at.
32:18And with this information that we have here, we didn't bring it up in time, but we just want to
32:24reference this again.
32:27Elric, right, Elric, yes, Elric Lewis, who went missing, he is, if I can't remember, he's an elderly gentleman.
32:36Yes.
32:37Right.
32:38Yes.
32:38Actually, we did bring it up.
32:39He's struggling mentally.
32:42To say what is his actual disorder, we are not entirely sure, because they're supposed to get back to us
32:50and explain to us what is his mental state.
32:54If it's, I mean, we don't know if it's Alzheimer's or dementia or if, you know, we just know that
32:59he's mentally unstable.
33:01Sometimes they don't get a chance to go and do a proper diagnosis of persons.
33:05And he just started walking and we're working with the family to try to locate him in particular.
33:15Again, anyone with information, please contact 555-999 and we'll give you more information as we come along.
33:23We take that break.
33:23We'll be back.
33:38We'll be back.
34:17We'll be back.
34:58We'll be back.
35:17We'll be back.
35:18We'll be back.
35:24We'll be back.
35:35We'll be back.
35:57Okay.
36:27All right.
36:54We'll be back.
36:57Make sure you want to have a rope in your car at all times.
36:59Make sure you always have a rope in your car at all times.
37:01At all times.
37:02All times.
37:03All right.
37:03So, as we move right along, just a media release from the TTPS where a firearm sees during Central Division
37:10operation.
37:11Officers of the Central Division sees one firearm during an anti-crime exercise conducted within the district on May 4,
37:192026.
37:20Between the hours of 8 p.m.
37:22Between the hours of 8 p.m.
37:22Between the hours of 8 p.m. and 12 midnight, officers detached to the Central Division Task Force, Area North,
37:28were engaged in an operation steady card exercise.
37:31When they received intelligence, this led them to McLean Drive, Las Lomas, No. 1.
37:38Upon arrival, officers conducted a search of a nearby bushy area during which a makeshift shotgun constructed of metal and
37:47wood was discovered and seized.
37:49Again, with TTPS, as little as it, people would say, oh, it's a makeshift gun, it's not a big deal,
37:54it's a gun off the street.
37:56And then hunting, because Captain mentioned that to me already.
37:59Correct.
37:59Patients make these shotguns.
38:02Correct.
38:02This is where you call our home, made shotgun.
38:04Yes.
38:04And they use that as a trap gun.
38:07So, when you go hunting, and this is no lie, if you trip it, majority of the times,
38:19that's it.
38:20But question, what is that gun really for?
38:22That we don't have bears, that that's tall, or they put it low?
38:29It's low.
38:30It's low.
38:30I thought it was like...
38:31No, it's low.
38:32It's low.
38:32You wouldn't see it up in the air or anything like that.
38:34Okay, so it's low.
38:35It's low.
38:35It's low.
38:35And the reason for it being low, because they're going to catch animals.
38:39So it's either, for example, like a quank, or a deer, or a lap.
38:47Majority of the times.
38:48You have hogs, yeah?
38:49Quank, yeah, hogs.
38:50Hogs.
38:50Which we call quank.
38:51Quank.
38:51Oh, same name.
38:52Okay.
38:52Same thing.
38:53Same farm, you're just in the name.
38:54It's a wild boar.
38:55Right.
38:55It's called a wild boar.
38:56Okay.
38:57That's what they'll be using it for.
38:59And other reasons.
39:00Well, we know that.
39:02But it gives more like, persons who are hunting, they will make that.
39:08Well, not necessarily ones that are hunting, we'll really make it.
39:10Hunters will quicker make a trap.
39:14Okay.
39:14However, you're not supposed to be using traps.
39:17Didn't know that.
39:18Yeah, you're not supposed to be using traps.
39:20Because people hike.
39:21We hike, yes.
39:22You're not supposed to be using traps when you're going and catch wild animals.
39:27Or because you have your weapon for you.
39:30Okay.
39:31Understood.
39:31Understood.
39:33So, as far as I know, I don't know if it has changed.
39:35But you're not supposed to be using traps where they can't use as dogs.
39:38Okay.
39:39But, I mean, I'm not a fan of dogs.
39:42When you say you're not a fan of dogs.
39:44A fan of dogs as in to hunt or you're just not a fan of dogs, period.
39:48No, no, no.
39:48I'm a fan of dogs.
39:49Oh, but for hunting.
39:50For hunting, yeah.
39:51Yeah, because they trample the bush, mash up the bush, you know, and it takes a little
39:56while to go back, you know.
39:58I mean, I used to be a hunter, so, you know, I mean, I don't do that anymore.
40:02Yes.
40:04That's, at least for now, until I decide if I'm going to go back.
40:07How quick I go on sentry.
40:08Okay.
40:09But right now, we're in a time where we're seeing advisory that was placed with the heat
40:14that is going to be hitting us, as we say, for six.
40:18Right.
40:18Out of the oval, right, and persons will be looking to do activities, but they said it's
40:24going to be scorching.
40:26That's correct.
40:26What can you tell persons who are not just hiking, but making their way to some of the
40:30different beautiful sceneries we have?
40:32So, what I can tell you about this, one, number one, number one, make sure you work with
40:38your water, and any rehydrating refreshment that you have.
40:45I'm not talking about soft drink, or we say sweet drink.
40:48Sweet drink.
40:49Right?
40:49Or soda pop.
40:50Yeah.
40:51For the, um, the foreigners, the, the, the, non-nationals.
40:57Yeah.
40:59Work with something that will rehydrate you, like hydration salts, or a liquid, and I wouldn't
41:04call any name, but that you can use, um, for rehydrating.
41:09Um, another thing, do not, I repeat this, do not litter.
41:16Now, it is, bushfire is okay in a sense.
41:21When you have fire fires, it's okay in one aspect, where modern nature is going to go
41:27through the process, and you know, you'll get back your greenery.
41:30But when it's not natural, that is where the problem comes in, and littering causes
41:36that, when the sun is beaming through the trees, and you get that sunbeam come down,
41:41and you leave your plastic, foil, can, and anything that can create the bouncing off,
41:50it works like a magnifying glass.
41:53And it's going to penetrate.
41:54So now, you have dry grass, or dry leaves, anything that is dry enough that is going to-
42:00Yeah, that is general science.
42:00And then, start it up.
42:01Yes.
42:02And then we have bushfire, which will kill the animals, of course, that we have on the
42:06inside there, and we hardly have ocelots, right?
42:09Which I understand, it's really rare right now for us.
42:13Yes, they're in the minor, wild boars are also somewhat, almost in a minor, but it's not
42:22a thing like they're going to ban them from wild boars at the moment, right?
42:25Is it because persons are just constantly hunting them, and for what?
42:28Are they hunting them?
42:30Well, hunting to eat, and the, more like, who does bee hunting off-season is where our
42:37problem is coming, when it comes to the population of the animals.
42:40It's not everything we could eat anymore.
42:42I was just saying.
42:44It's not everything, everything is not necessarily needed to consume like that.
42:49Oh, my goodness.
42:50Isn't that, we have to-
42:51You have so many options.
42:52So, yes, you have numerous options.
42:55It's just that, when you go into different countries, their culture is different.
42:59Well, yes, I know that, but I'm just saying.
43:00But here, yeah, they feel like we have to eat every single thing.
43:03We have to eat everything.
43:04We have to eat everything, everything.
43:05Everything.
43:06Everything.
43:07Everything.
43:07And we have to eat every single thing.
43:07We have to eat any monkeys, any people eat any snake.
43:09Oh, God.
43:10So, you can eat the balizet, you know.
43:11Now, if they want, naturally?
43:13Yes.
43:14I'll catch you off guard.
43:16So, on the inside of the balizet, it's a little piece on the inside where you would
43:20see the red.
43:21Yes.
43:22Right.
43:22You pull out that little piece.
43:23It's like a sack.
43:24Yes.
43:24Right.
43:25So, and you must try it.
43:28It's like a cucumber.
43:29Really?
43:29Yes.
43:29It tastes like a cucumber.
43:31Interesting, but...
43:31People must be wondering what they're talking about.
43:33It's a snake on the balisee.
43:34That's what they're talking about.
43:36In the balisee.
43:37Not on the balisee.
43:38In the balisee.
43:38This is not a political thing or anything like that.
43:40No, no, no.
43:41That is facts.
43:43You can't see snakes inside of the balisee because of how big the balisee is.
43:49Yes.
43:49Right?
43:50So you could find on the inside of because of, you know, you'll be relaxing on the inside.
43:54It's a little crumpling inside.
43:55I'll call you all to do that before I try and taste that.
43:58We take that break.
43:59We'll be back.

45:00This concludes our weekly press briefing.
45:04As the Trinidad and Tobago police service continues to protect
45:08and serve with pride,
45:10we are calling on all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago
45:13to get on board with us,
45:15to ensure that everyone is able to live
45:19in a crime-free society.
45:22Are you on board?
45:26This is my country and I am on board.
45:30I am on board with the Trinidad and Tobago police service.
45:33Let us save the youth of the nation.
45:36Get on board.
45:36Crime affects all of us.
45:38Children, communities and the country as a whole.
45:42Supporting crime victims and working in the police service,
45:45I am on board.
45:47This is my country and I am on board.
45:52My name is Nikolai Blackmon and I am on board with the TTPS.
45:56Vision on Mission is proud to partner with the TTPS
46:00because crime prevention is everybody's business.
46:04We are the National Congress of Incorporated Spiritual Baptist Organizations
46:08off Trinidad and Tobago
46:09and we are on board with the TTPS in its fight against crime.
46:13I am a farmer, this is my country and I am on board.
46:17I am Charles Jason Gordon, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Port of Spain.
46:22I am on board in the TTPS fight against crime.
46:25We are all on board.
46:43And we're back, and remember, you can give us a call at 623-1711, extension 1996 and 1997.
46:50Now, Desi, we're going to drive into some RTAs, some road traffic accidents over the weekend that took place.
46:56And once again, we mentioned to people, take your time.
47:00This incident we're seeing here was in Digo Martin, and look at that.
47:06I'm hoping from all information thus far, prisons are fine, but the inconvenience.
47:14Wow, the inconvenience is a joke.
47:16Yeah, I would not want to experience.
47:19I've been in an accident twice, not major, just, you know, someone not paying attention, fender bender, and it doesn't
47:29feel good.
47:30No, it doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't.
47:32So you imagine to this capacity of you, your car flipping, you and your vehicle, somebody have to get you
47:38out.
47:38Correct.
47:39You have to call out the emergency services.
47:41Yes.
47:42Now you have to fix this car, you may need treatment.
47:47Majority of the times you need treatment.
47:49Correct.
47:49And this one was in St. James, this one was circulating online, you know, persons wondering, you know, why is
47:56this car on fire?
47:57But again, I'm going to crash into someone.
47:59Take your time.
48:01We have to, and I mentioned, these brand new cars with the technology that we have in the vehicles, we
48:09also have to know how to operate it because the sensors throw off, it seems, a lot of persons.
48:15And when you're driving, it feels like you're cruising when you're really speeding, you know.
48:20So we have a call on the line at this time.
48:21Caller, good evening.
48:25Hello.
48:26Hello, good evening.
48:27Hi, good evening.
48:29Good evening, go on.
48:30Yes, I just want to pose a particular question to your co-host of the hunters search and rescue.
48:39Has the fear of crime impacted on the search and rescue?
48:48Because there's so much killing, you know, and you people have to go into certain areas.
48:55So there's the fear of crime, of factiveness, or how do you people do search and rescue at the moment?
49:02Okay.
49:03That's a good question, Caller, and thank you for your question.
49:07I wouldn't say that there's a lot of fear.
49:11We do have concerns according to the area that we have to go and search.
49:17Of course, we will have, we will assist the police, right, in conducting these searches.
49:30It's not like you would notice we are there.
49:34So we would, we would, we would, we would be actually disguised.
49:37You know.
49:37So you wouldn't be able to tell us that is actually with them or anything like that.
49:40Because that is, that is very important, I think, too.
49:43Because the criminal elements now, they don't care about anybody.
49:47We know that.
49:48And then you all are assisting in an investigation with maybe to find an individual or whatever that is maybe
49:55sensitive with you with the TTPS.
49:57Correct.
49:57You have your families.
49:58You have your lives.
49:59However, I would say this, they were their sister as well, according to the area that we go in.
50:06Yes.
50:06They were actually.
50:07Which we saw.
50:08Correct.
50:08With, with one of the, the matters.
50:11Correct.
50:11I mean, because when you think about it, they and all would want something solved.
50:16Yes.
50:16You know.
50:17Yes.
50:17So what was one of your most difficult searches, in your opinion, that you had to go through where it
50:24was just feeling a bit overwhelming?
50:26When you say feeling a bit overwhelming, I want to make sure.
50:29Because you were meaning that you, you were trying to find this individual and it was difficult for you to
50:34deal with.
50:34And eventually.
50:35Yes.
50:36Whichever the outcome may be.
50:40I don't know which one to give you.
50:42There's a lot, yeah.
50:43One that stood out to you that, you know, getting to the said location, trying to find the individual, getting,
50:50getting hence.
50:52All right.
50:53All right.
50:53Okay.
50:53So there was one in particular, a female.
50:57Yes.
50:58It took some doing.
51:04This was a murder suicide, actually.
51:08All right.
51:08All right.
51:10All right.
51:13All right.
51:13This person committed the act and dumped her body in one area.
51:22And his vehicle was found more than two, let's say, two hours away from the scene.
51:32This is more than two hours away.
51:33Almost two and a half to almost three hours, because the, when you think, when you think about the time,
51:39distance and everything, that you will have to do everything.
51:43And where it was found, it was eventually, like I said, committed suicide.
51:50Yes, yes.
51:51And where he was located, it was the same thing, two, three hours away.
51:57Yeah.
51:57So it would have kind of threw you off a bit.
52:00However, we were able to gather certain information, including CCTV footage, which assisted us from businesses as well and residents.
52:15And it allowed us to actually narrow down two locations to be able to find her and recover her body.
52:25Yeah.
52:25It, it, that alone was, I mean, seeing her, and there goes my pause again.
52:39Um, because it's, it, I mean, to be honest with you, it's, it's really difficult at times to talk about
52:45them.
52:46Of course.
52:46And she was lying down in a pool of water and it's, it's not like you could have just passed
52:53by and see her because it's, it's not even a residential area.
53:00It's just forested to bush as you're going, it's a road, but it's not a road that puts us transverse,
53:09you know, a lot.
53:10It's, it's not that active, you know, and it's a, it's a dirt road that you had to turn off
53:16into and to actually find inside of there.
53:20And so many four by fours would have been going inside of there.
53:23That's hard.
53:24Um, we have a caller this time.
53:25Caller, good evening.
53:26Hmm.
53:27Hello.
53:27Good evening.
53:28Yes.
53:29Good evening.
53:29Good evening.
53:30Good evening.
53:31Um, does the hunters search and rescue team use canine?
53:36If the answer is yes, what is the advantage?
53:38And if the answer is no, why not?
53:41I'm sorry.
53:41Could you just repeat that again?
53:42If it's canine?
53:44Yes.
53:44We all do.
53:45Does the hunters search and rescue team use canine?
53:48Use canine.
53:50Uh huh.
53:50Um, what is the advantage of using the canine?
53:53If the answer is no, why not?
53:56All right.
53:57So.
53:58Thank you for your question.
54:00Um, we would use TTPS canine, um, majority of the times.
54:07Okay.
54:08All right.
54:09Um, there are times that we would use, I'll call his name, Mark Changwing.
54:19He has, um, cadaver dogs as well.
54:21Yeah.
54:22And we, we have used his dogs as well.
54:24Does this?
54:25Yeah.
54:26There are times that we would not use dogs and it depends on the situation as to why
54:31we are not using them.
54:32This is understood.
54:34Yeah.
54:34But when, when we do, when we do know that we need, need, need them, we make the request.
54:40Yes.
54:41And canine units will come out.
54:43So, with regards to moving forward with families now, when you are able to give good news to
54:52the family members, how do you feel when you interact with members of the public and
54:58they don't know you, but you just enter their lives in a major way to bring back that closure
55:03that was needed?
55:04Uh, they, it's an overwhelming feeling that you get from them, that, a gratefulness.
55:17Yeah, I don't even think there are any words that, to be honest with you, that I can actually
55:22describe that feeling of, because it's, it's, they don't know you.
55:29At all.
55:30And they would come, they would grab you, or they wouldn't ask.
55:34Sometimes they would ask, they'd say, we can give you a hug.
55:36It's like, sure.
55:38You know, I mean, um, it's a, a very overwhelming feeling that, you know, it's just like, there's,
55:48there's, there's still hope for people, you know, that they, they, they still have faith.
55:56It brings them happiness and joy to know that this was done.
56:00This, that, you know.
56:01Because we need you all.
56:03We need you all.
56:04It is, and it is not so much just for finding someone who is missing based on a really disturbing
56:13act.
56:14Mm-hmm.
56:14We're speaking of, persons could get lost.
56:17Yes, they do.
56:18They do.
56:18Persons could get lost, genuinely lost.
56:20Yeah, yeah, yeah.
56:21And you all are there taking your time, precious time, that you're giving back to society to
56:27bring back that peace.
56:29Correct.
56:30That may have been lost in a moment.
56:32Because we are persons who we saw on the shore as well, who were experts, when I say so,
56:38self-taught hunters and, and, and hikers.
56:42And something just happened that made them get lost.
56:45And then you all show up.
56:47You know, it's really hard when you're inside of the forest.
56:50You do not know where north, east, west, or south is.
56:52Yeah.
56:52First one thing.
56:54I'll tell you this.
56:55I was lost in the forest when I was about 20, 21, once I was hiking from Santa Cruz to
57:03Maracas
57:03Bay.
57:04Wow.
57:04And a friend of myself who was walking going up, and the trail gives you a sort of an S
57:13shape.
57:14Okay.
57:14Going up like a snake.
57:16And when going up, this is like about almost the second to last bend of it.
57:22We forgot about it because we was talking so much.
57:25We went all on top of the mountain.
57:28Not focused.
57:29Realizing afterwards, look, we happen to look down as like, wait, hold on, where are we?
57:33Where are we?
57:34Realize now we are lost.
57:35So we have to try and get ourselves back.
57:37Try to get ourselves back.
57:39And it's getting darker.
57:40So when it's after five, things change.
57:43Things change.
57:44Correct.
57:45So listen, we just sit down here.
57:49I pull out a towel.
57:51He had spray.
57:53So we just spray the ground just to make sure.
57:55All right.
57:56So snakes and whatnot.
57:58I didn't carry anything to eat.
58:01Biggest mistake of my life.
58:04But you were able to get out.
58:06We got out the next morning.
58:07Thank God for that.
58:08Come away.
58:09Yes, thank you so much for being here with us for representing your entire team.
58:12We wish you nothing but the best.
58:14Continue the great work and we appreciate you.
58:16And of course, we get ready to wrap things up.
58:18We get ready for news up next at seven o'clock.
58:21Tomorrow it's Wednesday, so Legally Speaking Wednesdays.
58:23We have our Tony, Mr Ali, will be joining us.
58:25TNT continue being our targets.
58:27God bless.
58:28We're out.
58:43We're out.
