00:00Hi there. A fairly nondescript weather pattern across the UK at the moment with low pressure
00:06to the east, high pressure to the west and a very slack pressure gradient so light winds
00:12but the wind direction is generally from the north and we do have colder air arriving across
00:17northern parts of the UK behind this cold front but around the cold front a lot of cloud
00:22cover, showers as well. The showers most likely through parts of the central belt, southern
00:27Scotland into northern England. These are generally drifting south westwards, always a chance
00:33of a shower elsewhere but the brightest skies will be towards the south where it's mostly
00:37dry and the north of Scotland where there will be further showers to come and these will
00:42be fairly lively at times with a brisk northerly wind but elsewhere it's light winds where we
00:48do get some brighter spells emerging in between these extensive areas of cloud it's going to
00:54feel reasonably pleasant temperatures of 17 or 18 celsius but that colder feel into the
01:00north of Scotland and indeed as the showers across the south west of Scotland, north west
01:05England push further south west into parts of Wales and southern and central England overnight
01:10as well as Northern Ireland. Well we're going to see clearer skies emerge for Scotland, for
01:14northern England and perhaps parts of the east but where we've got those clear skies, where
01:19we've got the lighter winds, temperatures falling, shelter spots seeing a touch of frost, an air
01:24frost possible, certainly a ground frost more widely and so gardeners beware, the north and
01:30the east prone to a frosty start but with the cloud across Northern Ireland, Wales and the
01:36south west and some showers first thing generally frost free here. These showers and the areas
01:41of cloud will continue to drift west and south westwards. There will be some fairly heavy showers
01:46developing through the afternoon across parts of the south west of England where the winds
01:51come together and these will be very localised and there will also be an area of showers pushing
01:56into the east and south east of England. Further showers to come for parts of Northern Ireland
02:00into the far west of Scotland as well but away from these showerier areas actually a brighter
02:05day on the whole, decent spells of sunshine across much of Scotland and northern England for
02:11example. However, despite the sunnier skies, it's going to feel a touch cooler. We've got that frosty
02:17start and then temperatures only managing to reach 10 or 11 celsius at best across northern parts of the
02:23UK, mid-teens further south. And that means that some of these showers as they come in from the west
02:30across Scotland, well these will be falling as snow over the tops of the Scottish mountains but other than that,
02:37that's Wednesday evening. A few showers here and there, clear spells and another chilly start to Thursday
02:43but then through Thursday winds change direction once again and we'll see slightly milder weather return
02:49for the end of the week again with a lot of cloud around and a few showers. So a mixed
02:55week of weather
02:56weather but nothing particularly settled or sunny to come. Bye bye.
