00:00It's time to go around the entire NFL and dip it in some gridiron gravy.
00:09Dip it and sip it.
00:12And we start with, obviously I want to believe every single bit of this.
00:19DeMarvion Overshone has said that a healthy offseason is a blessing
00:24and it sets it up for this to be his best season yet.
00:28He said that via John Mishota.
00:32And so I know I want to believe it.
00:34I'm sure you all want to believe it.
00:36But you have to look at this entire thing with skepticism, right?
00:40Or can I just buy in and be like, yes.
00:41Go ahead and buy in, dude.
00:42Okay, great.
00:43You know what?
00:44I think that you saw Tank Lawrence have a healthy offseason one year
00:48and you were like, oh, he looks a lot better because of that.
00:51He even told us the same thing.
00:52He was like, man, let me just have an offseason where I don't have to worry about rehab
00:56and all those things I can really focus on other things.
00:59So I'm willing to buy into it.
01:01And I also buy in on the idea that the new defensive coordinator is going to set him up for
01:06success.
01:06So like those things go hand in hand for me.
01:09But yeah, dude, not having to rehab,
01:11not having to stress out about all that extra work that you have to do,
01:14and then being able to do the work that is actually functional for what your body is going to do
01:20during the season.
01:21Now, if you want to be skeptical about the staying healthy part, I get it.
01:25But let that go for just a little while.
01:27Okay.
01:28All right.
01:29Alec, same general philosophy or skepticism?
01:33I think I have the same philosophy because Corey just painted the picture perfectly
01:39where you hear it from the players a lot, but you hear it from the coaches and so on and
01:43so forth
01:43that having a truly full offseason with no limitations whatsoever
01:49and with the new scheme coming in as well, him being totally healthy, I think,
01:55is going to be just imperative for this defense's success.
01:58Just in the install, just in day one of what's going on with Christian Parker
02:03and what he's trying to accomplish here.
02:05But yeah, I'm going to take his word for it just because he has had the time.
02:09You know, it was a little bit up and down last year,
02:12but I like the idea that we can finally see a fully realized DeMar Villanova show
02:18just because he was able to sit down for a minute, you know, and breathe and be like,
02:23hey, I can.
02:24It sure would be nice to sit down for a minute and breathe.
02:26Well, and also thinking, hey, watch out, dude.
02:29Sometimes what you breathe is fantastic.
02:32Think about this, many camps and all these offseason voluntary workouts
02:36that he has to miss or be on the sideline for
02:39and can't be out there studying and learning and making a bond with his teammates.
02:43Yeah.
02:43Kevin, you saw him.
02:44We saw him out at Oxnard.
02:46He's great.
02:46Walking around, but he wasn't there.
02:48You know, he's there, but he's not out there,
02:51and that makes a significant difference for you.
02:53So I'm hopeful.
02:55I'm very hopeful.
02:56Do you care at all about Tom Brady being back in New England as a broadcaster?
03:02Nope.
03:04Go ahead.
03:05Explain more.
03:06I just think that ship has sailed.
03:08You know, like if it was his first year being a broadcaster,
03:12then I'd be like, oh, that's kind of poetic.
03:15Why not?
03:16Even then, that feels like a sarcastic thing you're saying.
03:19I mean, I don't know.
03:20I do like cool stories like that, a little bit of a homecoming,
03:23but it's like he's been away from the organization for how many years now?
03:27I just don't care about the whole, he's coming back home.
03:32No, he's getting paid handsomely to go do a job,
03:35and I think he does his job very well.
03:37So I'm just going to listen to his analysis.
03:40He has grown on me so much as a broadcaster.
03:43Like, I've always kind of liked him because he's had the fun, quirky personality.
03:47He'll make a few jokes here and there.
03:49Like, he's got personality off the field, but as a broadcaster,
03:52I think he does a really good job of breaking down the game and stuff.
03:54So if anything, I'm just like, great, more Tom Brady analysis for me to actually enjoy
03:59and process and become smarter because of.
04:02I don't care that it's happening in New England.
04:04It could be at the A's minor league baseball stadium.
04:08I don't care.
04:09Like, I just like Tom Brady as a broadcaster.
04:11He's a less energetic Greg Olson to me, though.
04:15Olson's awesome.
04:16I think Olson's my favorite, dude.
04:18He's the best.
04:19I will say, though, like him being in New England,
04:21are they going to throw him a parade?
04:24Is that like, I don't know.
04:25They better not.
04:26What are they going to do?
04:26Yeah, I don't know.
04:27He's just there to broadcast the thing.
04:29Yeah.
04:30Maybe they take him to the Habba.
04:32Yeah, I mean, him and Vrabel could probably bond over some stuff.
04:35Like what?
04:37I don't know.
04:38Like their family or their relationships and stuff.
04:41Did they?
04:42They were teammates, so yeah, good point.
04:44Well, that makes sense.
04:46Oh, man.
04:46That barrier's already broken.
04:47Did the NFL Scheduling Committee do the Buffalo Bills wrong?
04:53From Week 5 to Week 10, although obviously I will concede there's a bye built in there,
05:02Buffalo has four of its five games on the road.
05:06And then from Week 13 to Week 17, they have four of their five games on the road again.
05:14What?
05:14They have two different runs in the season where in the stretch of five games, four of them are on
05:21the road.
05:22Did the Buffalo Bills get jobbed?
05:26It seems like their whole schedule's on the road.
05:28So they get a chance, though, to start off.
05:30Like it looks like at, at, at, at, at on everything.
05:34It doesn't look like they have any Vs.
05:35So, first of all, I can't imagine anything being said on the show today that's better than that.
05:42So they open on the road.
05:45They have three straight home games.
05:47They have four of five on the road, then two more home games, then four of five on the road.
05:52I think they have too many road games.
05:54I think they put too many road games on their schedule this year.
05:56Yeah, this doesn't make any sense.
05:58Yeah, they kind of got screwed on this one, dude.
06:00But, you know, I think one of the things is, Kevin, you've always said this.
06:06Maybe this is one of those moments where you get a, you get an opportunity to say, we get to
06:11go on the road instead of we have to.
06:13And then we look forward to this challenge.
06:16That's the most Buffalo Bills approach, too, is we have the privilege of getting to go to somebody's home turf
06:22and beat them.
06:23Like, that's the most Josh Allen thing ever.
06:25But I think they got jobbed because, remember, they're opening a new stadium.
06:29Yes.
06:30So, like, isn't that even worse?
06:32The fact that, hey, we just put billions of dollars into this beautiful new stadium.
06:37You guys don't get to play in it in many consecutive weeks.
06:40That's kind of rough.
06:41Do you believe that the NFL let people know that the worst or least interesting teams in the NFL are
06:50the Cardinals, Jets, Titans, Raiders, and Dolphins?
06:53Because those are the only five teams that have no primetime game.
06:57That's rude, isn't it?
06:59That's very rude.
06:59So, do you think it's a combination of not interesting or not good?
07:02Or do you just think it's, we do not believe you will be good?
07:05I get the Dolphins because they're, like, that's, that looks like it's going to be a bad team.
07:09Yes.
07:10With Vegas.
07:12They got Mendoza, man.
07:13That's an exciting thing.
07:14And Gentie.
07:16Yes.
07:16I think there's some exciting stuff.
07:18But I do wonder if they're like, hey, we might, this dude might not start.
07:21You know, maybe Tom.
07:23Oh, they know it's going to be Cousins?
07:25Yeah.
07:25Oh, gross.
07:25And so I want to, that makes sense.
07:27When it comes to Tennessee, they have work to do.
07:28Would you like it, Corey, would you like it if they had a provisional schedule?
07:33When they were like, if you start Kirk Cousins, Monday night football.
07:37But if you don't, noon on Sunday.
07:40Yeah.
07:40Yeah.
07:41No.
07:41If, yeah.
07:42If Mendoza's in, then you guys are as well.
07:44Otherwise.
07:45Sorry.
07:46Get out of here.
07:47Off to the noon game.
07:47Yeah.
07:47No.
07:47But those are bad teams that have to, they have to force their way into the conversation.
07:52But AI did the scheduling.
07:54So AI is the one that's like, yeah, we've done all the research.
07:57You guys sick.
07:58I mean, I wouldn't rule that out.
07:59But I always think AI does the first part of the schedule, and then the human editors
08:04come in and they're like, well, that's not going to work, AI.
08:07Good job, stupid.
08:08But it does feel like they got it right on the other side.
08:11Here are the eight teams that have six or seven primetime games.
08:15The Cowboys, Eagles, Bears, Packers, Seahawks, Bills, Chiefs, Rams.
08:21Do you feel like at the same time, that is the correct combination of best or most interesting
08:27teams?
08:27Oh, for sure.
08:28Absolutely.
08:28And I wonder, what I'm kind of curious about, Alec, is of those teams, there are some that
08:33have been best and most interesting for a while.
08:35And when that starts to fade off for those guys not winning it, or do they just stay
08:41intriguing because they're on that cusp all the time?
08:44I think they just stay intriguing.
08:46I mean, it's the same reason that we keep talking about the Bills all the time, is they're
08:50going to win a million games, but they're going to crumble in the postseason.
08:53It's the same reason people keep talking about the Chargers.
08:56You know, they might, like, the Chargers in terms of personnel, they might be pretty average.
09:02If you think about personnel, not good, not bad, they just kind of exist, but Justin Herbert.
09:07The intrigue there, and then the head coach.
09:08When you have Harbaugh running things there and giving you quotes every single week, and
09:12you know, he's out there wearing cleats on the sideline and wearing gloves in pregame,
09:17people are going to want to see that.
09:18So the intrigue factor is always going to be there regardless for some of these teams.
09:22But then there's teams like the Titans, where they had that run when Vrabel was the head
09:26coach, where they were really good.
09:28What happens the second that they can him?
09:30Nobody cares about them anymore.
09:32Good point.
09:32Nobody cares.
09:33So it really just depends on the personality of the team.
09:36We're the K&C Masterpiece right here on 105.3 The Fan.
