00:00Stability, discipline and meaningful supervision is what ACP Wayne Meister hopes to bring to the Municipal Police Service, having recently
00:10been appointed to lead it.
00:11On his first day, he met with the family of murdered Municipal Police Acting Corporal Anuska Eversley.
00:18And today, day five, he met with all 14 Municipal Police Commanders at the Municipal Police Training Academy in Marabella.
00:27Today, we're going to be discussing security protocols. We're going to be looking at management of armories. We're going to
00:35be looking at access control. And most important, we're looking at supervision, meaningful supervision.
00:42Speaking on the directive given to now lodge all firearms assigned to municipal corporations at police stations, ACP Meister says
00:52that process remains ongoing.
00:54Meanwhile, he says he could not give any updates on the investigation into the deadly police station heist of April
01:0219th, but confirmed that all municipalities are now being audited.
01:07A comprehensive audit is taking place. And based on that comprehensive audit, what is being done is necessary at this
01:14time so that we can have an idea of what is before us.
01:18And from there, we'll take it from there.
01:20The municipal police have a specific role as it relates to securing assets within the various cities, boroughs and municipalities.
01:30So we're going to get back to those areas. I expect discipline. I expect the area to be stabilized.
01:41He says public trust and internal confidence was shattered when this major security breach occurred in an area where control
01:51is expected. ACP Meister says morale is low within the service, but these are all areas he hopes to improve.
02:00Notwithstanding that situation, that is not going to break us. We will continue to provide the necessary security and safety
02:08within our jurisdiction. I want to let them know to that under my leadership. I will lead from the front.
02:15Whatever needs fixing, we will fix. Whatever needs strengthening, we are going to strengthen.
