Investigators are expected to revisit the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC, by the end of this week concerning the inquiry into Erla Harewood-Christopher while she served as top cop.

This was confirmed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Suzette Martin.

00:00Yes, we have revisited DPP on two occasions and we are going to visit him before the end of this week and we'll be able to give you a feedback.
00:11Martin said that the investigative team was expected to return to Gosford once again and present him with their case concerning Erla Harewood-Christopher's approval of allegedly banned firearms into the country.
00:23It is hoped that he would then make a determination on what charges, if any, Erla Harewood-Christopher would face.
00:31The investigative team supervised by Martin has sought consultation with Gosford on at least two prior occasions.
00:39Police are trying to determine if there was any wrongdoing by Erla Harewood-Christopher and if so, if it constituted to misbehavior in public office.
00:47And even as investigations continue, the police service may look at other charges.
00:53Harewood-Christopher was appointed commissioner in February of 2023 and had three and a half months left on her contract at the time of her suspension.
01:03After she attained the retirement age of 60 on May 15, 2023, her service was extended based on contractual agreements.
01:12She was detained at her office at the Police Administration Building in Port of Spain on January 30 by a team of detectives headed by Deputy Commissioner Suzette Martin.
01:23Harewood-Christopher was questioned for two days and eventually released from the St. Clair Police Station on February 1.
01:31However, while she was in custody, on January 31, the Police Service Commission placed Harewood-Christopher on suspension with immediate effect.
