00:00If the administration see it fit to reassign me in another place, I mean, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service,
00:10as much as I would have liked to continue what I started, being a Tobegonian, being a person who grew up in Tobago,
00:21if they see it fit to give me another assignment, it's something that we all know that in the TPPS,
00:33that no appointment is permanent in any place, and the service, in terms of managing the resources,
00:43will tend to move you around from time to time.
00:45The transfer of Tobago's two top cops comes on the heels of an increase in gun crimes on the island with an unprecedented murder rate.
00:55In light of his transfer to take effect soon, Senior Superintendent of Police Ruddell Kirk said citizens on the island need to shine a spotlight on criminals.
01:06What I have said before is that just like how the criminals always put a spotlight on the police, we need to put a spotlight on the criminals.
01:16We need to expose them. We could only do so much, and if we do it, it will become a habit, it will become a practice.
01:29And then they will see greater success in going forward.
01:33The Senior Superintendent has this message for Tobegonians.
01:38I want to continue to give the police the support, meaning that we work alongside with the police because if we don't do that,
01:51it will be difficult in terms of dealing with the kind of crime that we are dealing with now.
01:58All these criminals have a place of their own somewhere within Tobegon.
02:04Communities have to start to be bold and brave.
