00:00Hello there, good afternoon. Well, apart from the odd shower, most of us have enjoyed lots
00:05of spring sunshine this weekend and there's more to come this afternoon. But is it going
00:09to last into next week? Well, if we take a look at the bigger picture, we can see high
00:13pressure set nicely across the country, eventually pushing northwards. Now, winds across an area
00:18of high pressure do move in a clockwise direction, so eventually we start to see a bit of an
00:23easterly flow develop into next week. So that means most eastern areas will be that little
00:27bit cooler, some moisture moving in from the North Sea, so perhaps a bit more cloud
00:31here. And it's often the west that will fare best with some warm sunshine. And high pressure
00:36mostly keeps low pressure away, but notice this system does just start to swing up a bit
00:41of a front until Wednesday, so we could see some rain just clip the very far southwest,
00:45quite a few isobars here, so it could turn quite windy in parts of the southwest on Wednesday
00:49as well. But for the time being, high pressure set nicely across the country, so mostly dry
00:55with plenty of sunny spells. Some showers mostly across the far northeast of Scotland, some
01:01may drift into North Sea coasts, moving into parts of East Anglia and perhaps the odd isolated
01:05shower across Northern Ireland. But for many areas, it's a dry end to the weekend with sunny
01:11spells and feeling rather warm in the sunshine across the south, highs reaching 16, maybe 17
01:16degrees Celsius, a touch cooler elsewhere, highs only reaching around 10 to 11 degrees Celsius
01:21in the north. Now through into the evening, once again, there will still be some showers
01:26clipping North Sea coasts and the far north of Scotland, where it's likely to turn into
01:31longer spells of rain through the early hours of the morning. But for many areas, dry, lots
01:36of clear skies, so that means it is going to be feeling rather chilly, lows reaching around
01:40freezing, so a rural frost likely in places. We could also see some mist and fog develop,
01:46but it should be rather shallow and clearing relatively quickly through the course of the
01:50morning.
01:51Now for most, it will probably be quite a dry, bright start with some sunshine around and
01:56we'll eventually start to see some fair weather cloud bubble up into the afternoon and this
02:00is going to be thick enough to produce some showers. So an afternoon of sunshine and showers
02:05for the first day of the new working week. These could be heavy at times across Scotland,
02:09but many areas of Northern Ireland, Southern England should be mostly dry with some more sunny
02:15spells and a touch cooler. Highs only reaching around 14 to 15 degrees Celsius, only between
02:21kind of 10 to 13 degrees Celsius in the north, so still not feeling too bad in the sunshine
02:26across the south. And there will still be some showers to finish off the day, mostly moving
02:31in through that easterly flow that will start to develop, but they'll eventually die away
02:35through the course of the night. So as we progress into the early hours of the morning, it will
02:39probably be another dry and bright start.
02:42Now once again, high pressure will be continuing to sit across the north. And like I said, low pressure
02:48mostly being kept at bay, but it does eventually just start to swing in a system, so it could
02:52potentially turn a little bit wet and windy across the far southwest into Wednesday. One we need to keep
02:57an eye on, there's the potential for wind warnings in places. Once again, for many areas, it should be
03:03mostly dry and settled into next week and starting to turn a little bit warmer in the sunshine as well.
