00:00Hello there, good afternoon. It felt a bit chilly for some of us yesterday in some brisk winds, but overall
00:06today, more sunshine, much lighter winds, so it should be feeling a lot warmer for most.
00:11It's been a fine start this morning, and those fine conditions will continue into this afternoon.
00:16There might be a bit more cloud around compared to what we saw yesterday. This may be thick enough to
00:21produce a very odd light shower, but actually for most, it's a dry, settled day, plenty of bright, if not
00:27sunny spells.
00:27The highest of the temperatures likely across southwest England today, pushing into the mid-twenties here, 25, possibly 26 degrees
00:35Celsius, and a much warmer day to come across western Scotland, lighter winds and more sunshine.
00:41Late evening sunshine to finish off the day, and plenty of clear skies actually across Scotland, northern and eastern parts
00:48of England, so actually temperatures are going to be dipping down here, a cooler, fresher night to come for many.
00:53Particularly across Scotland, temperatures could move down to around the mid-to-low single figures here, but a very different
01:00start across southern Wales, southwest England, temperatures here actually not dropping much past the mid-single figures, so a warm
01:06night to come here, a real good northeast-southwest split in the temperatures to start the new working week.
01:13But actually for Monday, it looks like a mostly dry, settled day. Fewer showers than perhaps were forecast yesterday in
01:19parts of the southwest, but we are expecting some to drift northeastwards, and we could still hear the odd rumble
01:24of thunder.
01:25Some lower clouds starting to push into the southwest later on into the day around coastal areas, so perhaps a
01:30little bit disappointing if you head towards the beach.
01:33And also thicker cloud across the northwest, some isolated showers starting to push through later into the day as well.
01:40But otherwise for most, dry, settled, fine conditions once again, and feeling warm for most in the sunshine, temperatures pushing
01:46into the mid-20s once again.
01:48Just that little bit fresher and cooler across the far north of Scotland and the far northeast of England as
01:53well.
01:54Now, later into the evening, we'll continue to see this band of cloud and showers drift its way northeastwards, eventually
02:01merging into longer spells of rain as it drifts its way northeastwards across Scotland, northern parts of England.
02:07Some showers moving into the west as well.
02:09And this is pretty much the setup for the rest of the week.
02:12We do see a fair bit of mobility from the Atlantic at times swinging in some fronts, but notice down
02:18to the south and southeast, high pressure does begin to build.
02:22And not only this, but we'll start to see a slight warm of plume of air start to push northwards
02:27as well.
02:27So actually towards the end of the week, it does look like, especially across the southeast, that temperatures could actually
02:33start to increase day by day.
02:35So feeling pretty warm, if not quite hot by the end of the week.
