07 April - National morning forecast presented by Honor Criswick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good morning. It's turning warmer over the next couple of days and there will
00:04be plenty of sunshine to go alongside it, though it's likely turning a bit more unsettled
00:08towards the end of the week. Before we get on to that though, let's take a look at today.
00:12It's a bit of a fresh start out there, fairly chilly in places, quite breezy around some
00:16coasts and hills, but for most it's going to be a dry, settled day, plenty of blue skies
00:21towards the afternoon. A different story in the north-west though, clouding over here
00:26with some outbreaks of rain across western Scotland, western areas of Northern Ireland.
00:30This could turn a little bit heavy and it's going to turn fairly breezy here towards the
00:34end of the day, perhaps turning a touch cloudier in parts of Scotland, creating hazier spells
00:38of sunshine. But for most, particularly across England and Wales, dry, settled and lots of
00:44warm sunshine to go around. We could potentially see highs reaching around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius
00:50in parts, but a little bit cooler, particularly around eastern coast of Scotland, highs probably
00:54only reaching around 10 to 11 degrees Celsius here.
00:58Then in through the evening, still some outbreaks of rain across the far north-west. It's a little
01:03bit heavy at times as the system drifts its way northwards. Else that were though, remaining
01:08mostly dry, some patchy cloud across the north, plenty of clear skies in the south and mostly
01:13light winds. So there's a chance we could see some isolated spots of mist and fog first
01:17thing in the morning, but it should mostly be in rural prone spots. And not quite as chilly
01:22overnight either, highs mostly in the high single figures for most towns and cities.
01:28Then into Wednesday, once again high pressure dominating the weather. So many of us seeing
01:33another dry day, lots of sunshine around, any sunshine turning hazier in the west. Once
01:38again a build of cloud here and this thick enough to produce some light outbreaks of rain
01:42and drizzle, mostly across Scotland and perhaps parts of Northern Ireland. But for most, another
01:47dry, settled day, lots of sunshine and feeling slightly warmer than Tuesday as well. Highs
01:53potentially reaching around 26 degrees Celsius and if we do so, that will make it the warmest
01:58day of the year so far. Now I'm afraid it's a fairly brief warm spell. Later on on Wednesday,
02:05we'll start to introduce a couple of cold fronts. We'll bring in a different air mass, so some colder
02:09conditions on its way on Thursday. Not only this, but it's going to bring in some bands of rain
02:13and also some heavy showers. So it's certainly going to be turning more unsettled towards the
02:18end of the week and that little bit cooler. Then we just need to keep an eye on this area
02:22of low pressure which starts to swing its way in on Friday. The potential here to bring us
02:26quite a wet and windy spell to finish off the week. But as it's still a few days away, there
02:30is still some uncertainty in the forecast. So if you want any more updates on your week ahead
02:35weather, well don't forget you can always subscribe. Bye bye.
