00:00Hello there, good afternoon. It's certainly been an extraordinary week of weather, many of us struggling with the heat and
00:07humidity, but I'm pleased to tell you the heat wave is coming to an end and things are certainly going
00:11to be feeling far less humid. Now why is this? Well today we do have a cold front which will
00:16be scooting its way eastwards across the country, bringing in that fresher air and pushing away a lot of that
00:22heat and humidity. And it should actually still be fairly dry with some sunshine, high pressure clinging on across many
00:29areas.
00:29Though low pressure towards the northwest, so a bit cloudier here at times, some showers moving into western parts of
00:35Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland through the course of the day and perhaps just a bit more cloud across the
00:40southeast with the remnants of that cold front, the odd spot of rain here. But you can see across for
00:45the large majority it should be dry, plenty of bright if not sunny spells and mostly light winds, though it
00:51will be fairly breezy across parts of the northwest, turning quite windy in fact across exposed areas towards the end
00:57of the day.
00:57But take a look at those temperatures, widely around the low to mid-20s, but across the southeast still pushing
01:03into highs of around 26 to 27 degrees, so it's still going to feel warm in the sunshine, but not
01:09quite as muggy and not quite as humid.
01:11And it's similar through the overnight period as well. We've had some very warm, humid nights, but tonight it should
01:16feel a lot fresher for many areas. Mostly dry, plenty of clear skies across the southeast, though a fair bit
01:23of cloud pushing into the west.
01:24Once again, quite a few showers pushing into western northern Scotland, Northern Ireland, perhaps at times northwest England, and quite
01:31a bit of cloud across Wales, southwest England by the morning.
01:34This may be just thick enough to produce some light outbreaks of rain, mostly across the hills. Temperatures in the
01:40mid to low teens, but the difference is once again, it's just going to be feeling that bit fresher, far
01:44less humid, so a much more comfortable night's sleep as we head into Monday.
01:49Now, it's fairly similar conditions on Monday. Still quite a few showers across the northwest. Breezy here to start, though,
01:56winds lightening off through the day.
01:57There will be some bits and bobs of cloud, but across the large majority of the country it will break
02:02and lift, allowing once again a return of the bright, if not sunny, spells.
02:06And fairly similar temperatures as well as we head into Monday. Highs reaching around 23 to 24 degrees Celsius, but
02:13even across eastern Scotland pushing into the low 20s here.
02:16And with light winds, once again, it should feel quite nice in the sunshine. Notice behind me, though, there is
02:22some rain on its way. Eventually, later into Monday evening, these showers will push in from the west.
02:27Eventually, some longer spells of rain. This could turn quite heavy, potentially a little bit thundery. And that kind of
02:34paves the way into next week.
02:35At times, we will start to see some systems pushing from the west, particularly on Tuesday. So there will be
02:41some clouds, some rain and showers at times.
02:43And then this will soon be followed by ridges of high pressure. And then once again, perhaps a little bit
02:48more rain on the cards.
02:49But nevertheless, for the large majority, it's still going to feel warm in the sunshine and much fresher and cooler
02:55compared to the conditions we had last week.
