00:00Feeling like autumn for some and summer for others this afternoon with temperatures pushing into the mid-20s across the southeast.
00:07That's all thanks to high pressure towards the near continent, bringing us in a south-southwesterly flow, bringing in some warmer air here.
00:15But where we see this frontal system lingering on across parts of the north, that's where we'll see more cloud and outbreaks of rain, not just through today, but as we head into the weekend as well.
00:25So initially some light outbreaks of rain across northern parts of England, potentially northwestern parts of Wales, and pushing through into the Scottish borders.
00:33It's likely to turn heavy as we head through into this afternoon, but away from this system it's going to be dry, plenty of sunny spells, and across the south and southeast it's going to be feeling pleasantly warm.
00:44Highs reaching 25, possibly 26 degrees Celsius here, a little bit cooler across the far north of this frontal system, but it should remain mostly dry.
00:53Now into the evening, this system will slowly spread its way southeastwards, dragging in more cloud and also further outbreaks of rain, particularly across Wales and parts of southwest England.
01:04Also a fair few blustery showers just clipping the northwestern coast of Scotland, also western coasts of Northern Ireland, remaining mostly dry across the far south and southeast, though more cloud.
01:15With plenty of cloud around it means it's going to be a mostly mild start to the day, temperatures dropping between 9 to 10 degrees Celsius in the north.
01:23Now it is going to be an unsettled start to the weekend for many, as this system once again slowly approaches southeastern areas.
01:31Now there is a yellow rain warning in force due to some heavy downpours, which could cause some localised flooding, particularly across northern parts of England and western parts of Wales.
01:39So keep an eye on our website for any details on those.
01:42Plenty of blustery showers starting to push into Scotland and Northern Ireland, some sunnier breaks across the Scottish borders and the far north of England.
01:49And once again across the very far southeast, remaining mostly dry, though we can't rule out a shower into the afternoon, which once again could be heavy with the odd rumble of thunder.
01:58Now temperatures are a degree or down two compared to this afternoon, but highs still pushing in to the low 20s across the southeast, but feeling much fresher across the far north, particularly in the brisk breeze.
02:09Now later into the evening, we do eventually say goodbye to the front, bringing us all the cloud and rain.
02:15It pushes its way into the North Sea, though we could still see some heavy bursts, possibly some blustery winds across eastern coasts as it does so.
02:22And then we start to drag in a northerly flow of air, so things are going to start to feel quite chilly as we head through into the second half of the weekend.
02:29Still plenty of cloud across much of England and Wales, some showery outbreaks, some breaks in the cloud at times leading to some brighter spells, and a mix of sunny spells and showers across the far north.
02:40Sunny spells in between, but some of these showers could be blustery, it may even bring a sprinkling of snow across the highest hills in Scotland too.
02:47So it's feeling a lot more wintry as we head into Sunday, very blustery, and although temperatures widely in the mid-teens, where you do catch that brisk wind, it's likely to feel much chillier than that, particularly across Scotland.
