00:00:00?
00:00:01?
00:00:02?
00:00:03?
00:00:03?
00:00:04?
00:00:04?
00:00:05?
00:03:50testimony fellow, but
00:03:50would you mind sort of bugging out of here because I'm
00:03:53trying to explain about the rectangle and if you could just
00:03:56leave so I could do my experimental about the rectangle.
00:03:59Sure, buddy.
00:04:00All right, fine.
00:04:02Now, uh, as I was about to say, the rectangle here has four sides, one of which is broken.
00:04:11And it's also got, uh, another broken, uh, listen.
00:04:18Why don't you just leave and go find yourself a circle or a square or something like that,
00:04:22huh?
00:04:22Okay, bye-bye.
00:04:24Uh, well, uh, what you see here, uh, used to be a rectangle.
00:04:34And it still is.
00:04:35Hmm?
00:04:36It's a wreck and it's a tangle.
00:04:40Ah, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.
00:04:47You know this game, don't you, Gail?
00:04:49See?
00:04:50One of these things is not like the others?
00:04:52Okay, let's look at each one.
00:04:54One of these things is not like the others.
00:04:58One of these things doesn't belong.
00:05:02Can you tell which thing is not like the others?
00:05:06Before a thing was my song.
00:05:10Okay, now this is a circle, a square, a rectangle, a triangle.
00:05:17Now, look at each one carefully and tell me which one does not belong with the other three.
00:05:23Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
00:05:26Did you guess which thing is not like the others?
00:05:30Did you guess which thing doesn't belong?
00:05:34If you guess this thing is not like the others, then you're right.
00:05:43Why, Steve, is this one different?
00:05:45Because it's smaller.
00:05:46It's small and the other three are big.
00:05:50There's another answer, too.
00:05:51Another answer, what?
00:05:53What's the other answer?
00:05:53The circle.
00:05:54Because it has no corners.
00:05:58All right, the circle is round and these have corners.
00:06:02So if you guess the circle, you're right, too.
00:06:04Hmm.
00:06:05Steve, that was very good.
00:06:06You ready to go on?
00:06:07May I go on?
00:06:08Okay, you sure?
00:06:09Okay.
00:06:10We'll get another one.
00:06:10Let's try this one.
00:06:14Here's somewhere.
00:06:16Here it is.
00:06:17Do, do, do, do, do.
00:06:20One of these things is not like the others.
00:06:24One of these things doesn't belong.
00:06:27Can you tell which thing is not like the others?
00:06:31Before I finish my song.
00:06:35Well, Gail, are you going to tell me what is this first animal here, Gail?
00:06:39A lion.
00:06:40A lion, hippopotamus, a kitten, and an elephant.
00:06:45Now, tell me which one doesn't belong with the other three.
00:06:51Did you guess which thing is not like the others?
00:06:55Did you guess which thing doesn't belong?
00:06:59If you guess this thing is not like the others?
00:07:05Why is this right?
00:07:08Now, you might have been, uh, confused because they are all animals.
00:07:12They're all living things.
00:07:13But, but, um, why is this one different, Steve?
00:07:16Because you could use it for a pet, and it's smaller.
00:07:20It's small, and the other three are big.
00:07:23And Steve has a good point.
00:07:24You use a kitten for a pet, but very rarely do you see people with an elephant for a pet.
00:07:28Oh, I used to have a pet elephant.
00:07:30Yes, I...
00:07:31You remember that elephant.
00:07:32I think you did.
00:07:32I remember that elephant, yes.
00:07:34I used to use this trunk.
00:07:35Well, never mind.
00:07:36Now, you know what?
00:07:37I saw that you liked the music, so let's play some more of the music, and let's listen
00:07:42to the music and clap our hands to the beat.
00:07:45Yeah.
00:07:45Okay?
00:07:47Let's see.
00:07:50Let's hear it, Gail.
00:07:51All right.
00:07:54Now, how do you know when to clap your hands?
00:07:57Because music has what's called rhythm.
00:08:00That's this part.
00:08:01Boom.
00:08:02Boom.
00:08:03Boom.
00:08:05Boom.
00:08:06Boom.
00:08:06Boom.
00:08:06Ba-da-da-da.
00:08:08That's the rhythm of the music.
00:08:09And you know what?
00:08:10There are different kinds of rhythm around us all the time.
00:08:22Boom.
00:08:23Boom.
00:08:25Boom.
00:08:27Boom.
00:08:29Boom.
00:08:30Boom.
00:08:31Boom.
00:08:34Boom.
00:08:36Boom.
00:08:36Boom.
00:08:38Boom.
00:08:39Boom.
00:08:40Boom.
00:08:43Boom.
00:08:44Boom.
00:09:03Hey kids, you feel the rhythm?
00:09:05You know, there's rhythm all around us.
00:09:08Waves break in rhythm.
00:09:12People walk in rhythm.
00:09:14People breathe in rhythm too.
00:09:17People work in rhythm.
00:09:21The whole world is made up of rhythm.
00:09:26So come on, let's go blitz at rhythm of the world.

00:17:26One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:17:33One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:17:36Eight.
00:17:39Eight.
00:17:44Eight.

00:18:01One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:18:05One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:18:09Oh, that counting stuff, Bert.
00:18:11You know, that counting stuff reminds me of a great game I know.
00:18:13You want to play a little game?
00:18:15Oh, no, not another one of your meatball games, Ernie.
00:18:18No, thanks.
00:18:18No, no, no, no, Bert.
00:18:19This is not a meatball game.
00:18:20I promise this is not a meatball game.
00:18:22No tricks?
00:18:23No tricks.
00:18:23No, no.
00:18:24All right.
00:18:25It goes like this.
00:18:26See, I say I won the sandbox.
00:18:28Yeah.
00:18:28And then you say I two the sandbox.
00:18:31Yeah.
00:18:31And then I say I three the sandbox.
00:18:33And so on and so forth.
00:18:34No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, like that.
00:18:36You want to play?
00:18:37That's stupid.
00:18:38No, no, it's not stupid.
00:18:39All right.
00:18:40Okay.
00:18:41It goes like this.
00:18:42I was walking down the street the other day, and I saw a sandbox.
00:18:46Ah.
00:18:47I won the sandbox.
00:18:48Hmm.
00:18:50Now you.
00:18:51Oh, now.
00:18:51Oh.
00:18:52I two the sandbox.
00:18:53I three the sandbox.
00:18:55I four the sandbox.
00:18:56I five the sandbox.
00:18:58I six the sandbox.
00:18:58I seven the sandbox.
00:18:59I eight the sandbox.
00:19:00You ate the sandbox?
00:19:04How'd it taste, Bert?
00:19:06Oh, no.
00:19:10One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:19:19Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, one.
00:19:24One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, eight, eight, eight, let's sing a song of it.
00:19:39How many is eight?
00:19:42Eight blocks.
00:19:45One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:19:51Eight clocks.

00:20:17One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:20:23Eighty-five more.
00:20:25One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:20:31Eight Raspberry Pudding Desserts!
00:20:40And that's the joy of me!
00:20:48One, two, erase your shoes.
00:20:52Three, four, remove the door.
00:20:54Five, six, rub out the bricks.
00:20:57Seven, eight, sit down and wait.
00:21:00Nine, ten, in trouble again.
00:21:03One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
00:21:10Hey, Gillian, why don't you count the eight for me?
00:21:13Real quick.
00:21:14One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.
00:21:15Good, good.
00:21:17Hey, you hear that?
00:21:18Look, look up.
00:21:19Hey.
00:21:20Look.
00:21:20It's a plane.
00:21:21It's a plane, that's right.
00:21:23Look up there, the plane.
00:21:25It's a magic skywriter.
00:21:27I knew that's who it would be.
00:21:28Now, he's gonna make something.
00:21:31He's gonna make a letter.
00:21:32Looks like an I.
00:21:34No.
00:21:35An L.
00:21:36An O, a J.
00:21:39I don't know.
00:21:40Maybe a U.
00:21:42It could be.
00:21:43It's coming straight up.
00:21:46Magic skywriters on the move.
00:21:48Maybe it could be a U.
00:21:49That's right.
00:21:50It's a U.
00:21:57A salute to the letter U.
00:22:04Useful for words beginning with U.
00:22:07Little words such as use.
00:22:10Big words such as university.
00:22:14And in between words such as ukulele.
00:22:20Without the letter U, there would be no universe or uranium.
00:22:29Without the letter U, units would be.
00:22:33Nets?
00:22:34Policemen would have no uniforms and nothing would be useful.
00:22:40For instance, whoever heard of an I.
00:22:44Oh.
00:22:45So here's to you, you.
00:22:48You've earned your place in the alphabet.
00:22:51And so to you, you.
00:22:53For your unique, universal usability, we say thank you, you.
00:23:01Anybody wanna buy a used U?
00:23:04All right, Gordon.
00:23:06What goes up, then comes down, is sometimes found in a playground.
00:23:12What goes up, then comes down, is sometimes found in a playground.
00:23:17Yeah.
00:23:18I think I've got it.
00:23:19You know what?
00:23:20I bet Buddy and Jim are thinking about the same thing.
00:23:26Hey, Jim.
00:23:28Hey, Jim.
00:23:29What is it?
00:23:30What is this thing here?
00:23:33This is a seesaw.
00:23:35Oh, yeah.
00:23:36This is a seesaw.
00:23:37Seesaw.
00:23:39Jim.
00:23:40What does a seesaw do?
00:23:42A seesaw goes up and down.
00:23:46I'm kidding.
00:23:46Seesaw.
00:23:47Too bad.
00:23:49What's too bad?
00:23:50Well, this seesaw's broken.
00:23:54This seesaw is not broken.
00:23:57It's not going up and down, Jim.
00:24:00Everybody knows that you have to sit on a seesaw first before it can go up and down.
00:24:05Oh, I see.
00:24:05Good.
00:24:06I'll show you.
00:24:07All right.
00:24:08Very simple.
00:24:09I'd like to see you do some seesawing here, Jim.
00:24:11Well, I'll show you right now.
00:24:13Come on, Jim.
00:24:14Sit down on the seesaw.
00:24:16Seesaw.
00:24:19Seesaw.
00:24:21Hey, Jim.
00:24:23I knew it.
00:24:24This seesaw's broken.
00:24:27Hold it.
00:24:28All right.
00:24:29I think you need two people before the seesaw can go up and down.
00:24:33You got to have two people before the seesaw goes up and down?
00:24:37Two people on the seesaw before it can work.
00:24:37Jim, buddy.
00:24:38One, two.
00:24:39Two people.
00:24:40Let's go, Jim.
00:24:41Here we go.
00:24:42Whoopee.
00:24:43Seesaw.
00:24:43Let's go, Jim.
00:24:53Buddy.
00:24:55I think you're right.
00:24:57I think this seesaw's broken.
00:25:01I sure wanted the seesaw, Jim.
00:25:04Me too.
00:25:05Hey, Jim.
00:25:06I got an idea.
00:25:10Maybe just one end of the seesaw won't work.
00:25:14Maybe we're sitting on the bad end.
00:25:17Let's go over there and try the other end and maybe we can seesaw.
00:25:23Buddy, for once in your life you've had a good idea.
00:25:26Good boy.
00:25:28All we have to do is go on the other end.
00:25:31Yeah?
00:25:31And then the seesaw.
00:25:32Seesaw.
00:25:33Okay.
00:25:33Here we go.
00:25:34Here we go.
00:25:35It's a good idea.
00:25:36Thank you, Jim.
00:25:38Now I sit down.
00:25:40Yep.
00:25:40Buddy sits down.
00:25:41Uh-huh.
00:25:42Now hold on real tight because sometimes the seesaw goes high.
00:25:45Real high, huh?
00:25:46Are you ready?
00:25:46Yeah.
00:25:47On your mark.
00:25:47Let's go.
00:25:48Head set.
00:25:49Here we go.
00:25:56Hold it.
00:25:58There's something very wrong here.
00:26:03I've got an idea.
00:26:04Yeah?
00:26:05I think you have to use both ends of the seesaw before it can work.
00:26:10Both ends?
00:26:11Both ends.
00:26:12I'll tell you what.
00:26:13Yeah?
00:26:14I'll stay on this end of the seesaw.
00:26:15Yeah?
00:26:16You go way over to the other end of the seesaw and you sit on that end.
00:26:19And then I think the seesaw's gonna work.
00:26:22Good boy.
00:26:23Head ball.
00:26:23Here we go.
00:26:24Jimmy, stay on that end, will ya?
00:26:25What I'll do is I'll go over here on this end and we'll get this seesaw to...
00:26:37Seesaw.
00:26:43Jim.
00:26:46My end of the seesaw is too high.
00:26:49You can't get on my end of the seesaw, Jim.
00:26:52Ah.
00:26:53You can't do anything right.
00:26:55Jim, it's too high.
00:26:56You can't get on it.
00:26:57I have to do it all by myself.
00:27:08Does that look too high to you?
00:27:11No, it's not too high, Jim.
00:27:15Now sit down here and remember what I told you.
00:27:18You're gonna sit on this end, I'm gonna sit on this end, and then I think the seesaw's gonna work.
00:27:21You're right, Jim.
00:27:22You always have the good ideas, Jim.
00:27:24Always have the good ideas.
00:27:49Huh?
00:27:53Huh?
00:27:53Hey, Jim!
00:27:54Ha-ha!
00:27:55We seesaw'ing, huh?
00:27:56We seesawing now.
00:27:57Buddy and Jim are together.
00:27:58Good boy.
00:27:59Up!
00:28:00Ha-ha-ha-ho.
00:28:03Hey!
00:28:04Ha-ha-ha-ha.
00:28:06Hey!
00:28:06Ha-ha-ha!
00:28:07Hey!
00:28:07Ha-ha-ha.
00:28:07Hey!
00:28:07Honey, what are you doing on my side of the seesaw?
00:28:12Oh, I want to seesaw with you, Jim, before it broke again.
00:28:24Okay, Susan, what's inside that you can ride goes up and down,
00:28:32but not around, and it rhymes with alligator.
00:28:35What's inside that you can ride goes up and down, but not around,
00:28:43and rhymes with alligator?

00:29:31What can fly up in the sky, just as high as a bird can fly, and it rhymes with baboon?
00:29:38I think you mean a big balloon.
00:29:41Hi there.
00:29:42Hey, how'd you like to go for a ride with me?
00:29:44I'm sorry, I can't, because I'm going for a ride with Billy and his plane.
00:29:48We're going way up in the sky.
00:29:50A plane?
00:29:51A plane is nothing.
00:29:52I got something better than a plane.
00:29:54What could be better than a plane?
00:29:56Well, climb in this, and I'll show you.
00:29:59All right.
00:29:59Yeah, there's a trap door here.
00:30:00Let me see it.
00:30:01I'll close it now, okay?
00:30:02Yeah, okay.
00:30:02Okay, right, right.
00:30:03All right.
00:30:05Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon?
00:30:10Would you like to glide in my beautiful balloon?
00:30:15We could float among the stars together, you and I, but we can fly.
00:30:28Up, up, up and away, my beautiful, my beautiful balloon.
00:30:39The world's a nicer place in my beautiful balloon.
00:30:45It wears a nicer face in my beautiful balloon.
00:30:50We can't sing a song and sail along the silver sky, but we can't fly.
00:31:04Up, up and away, my beautiful, my beautiful balloon.
00:31:16Suspended under a twilight canopy, we'll search the clouds for a star to guide us.
00:31:25If by some chance you find yourself loving me, we'll find a cloud to guide us, keep the moon beside
00:31:35us.
00:31:37Love's waiting there in my beautiful balloon.
00:31:41Way up in the air in my beautiful balloon.
00:31:47If you'll hold my hand, we'll chase your dream across the sky, but we can't fly.
00:32:01Up, up, up and away, my beautiful, my beautiful balloon.
00:32:08My beautiful balloon.
00:32:10My beautiful balloon.
00:32:11My beautiful balloon.
00:32:11Forget it.
00:32:12My balloon.
00:32:13Oh, no.
00:32:14My balloon.
00:32:16Oh, no.
00:32:31All right.
00:32:32Now this one is for you to guess.
00:32:34Go ahead, Gordon.
00:32:35Okay.
00:32:36Where do you find bees and trees and plants and ants and baby bear and nice clean air?
00:32:45The answer rhymes with goods.
00:32:55One day, David and Jill went on a picnic with their mommy and daddy.
00:33:01They had never been in the woods before, so they decided to take a little walk and see what they
00:33:07could see.
00:33:20Look what I caught.
00:33:22A spider.
00:33:24Is he dead?
00:33:26No.
00:33:29No.
00:33:30No.
00:33:33He's got away.
00:33:36Oh, there we are.
00:33:37Can you see him?
00:33:37Yeah.
00:33:38He's right there.
00:33:40See him?
00:33:43They walked a little further and came to a stream.
00:33:48There's a fish.
00:33:49He's coming.
00:33:50David!
00:33:51The fish.
00:33:54Wow.
00:33:56He looks like a catcher.
00:34:05He's gone.
00:34:07What is that thing in the water?
00:34:11And he's a frog.
00:34:13Okay.
00:34:16I want to try to catch mine again.
00:34:19I want to try to catch mine again.
00:34:26I got him again.
00:34:28Now I'm going to go.
00:34:29We're the fish.
00:34:30KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK 잘 together.
00:34:31They thought the way the frog jumped around was funny.
00:34:33So they tried doing it themselves.
00:34:36What did you do?
00:34:37As they were jumping along, they saw one of these.
00:34:41Do you know what it is?
00:34:42A turtle. A very tiny turtle.
00:34:48Four legs.
00:34:49Shells.
00:34:51He found his shell, right?
00:34:53I wonder how he got it on.
00:34:57He had it on.
00:34:59Maybe he found it.
00:35:01Then they stopped to pick some berries.
00:35:04Very small berries that look like tiny little apples.
00:35:12Here are some of the other things they saw.
00:35:38Later on, they went back and told about the things they saw.
00:35:43Can you name some of them?
00:35:47A spider.
00:35:49A leaf.
00:35:52A fish.
00:35:54A frog.
00:35:58A turtle.
00:36:02If you go to the woods, see if you can find what David and Jill saw.

00:53:55W, X, Y, Z.
00:54:02Okay, we're going to play this game where we look at three different pictures,
00:54:08and you tell me which picture came first.
00:54:17Okay, now, we have a picture of people waving at one another,
00:54:25and they're going away in opposite directions.
00:54:27We have a picture of people coming toward one another, waving,
00:54:31and we have a picture of people standing, just standing next to one another, talking, probably.
00:54:38Now, who thinks they know which one came first? Raise your hand.
00:54:43Gillian.
00:54:44This one.
00:54:45This one, where they're coming toward one another, waving.
00:54:48So, if they're coming toward one another, waving, they're waving goodbye or hello.
00:54:53They're waving hello.
00:54:55What came next, Steve?
00:54:58This one.
00:54:59They meet on the street, and they stop and have a talk.
00:55:03And then, third, if they're walking away and waving, what are they waving?
00:55:08Hello or goodbye?
00:55:09They're waving goodbye.
00:55:10Now, let's wave hello at everybody out there.
00:55:13You can wave hello, and then let's wave goodbye.
00:55:16See, if you sit still, it looks the same, doesn't it?
00:55:19Now, let's think.
00:55:20Mm, what else can you do with your hands?
00:55:22There once was a hand.
00:55:26Like most hands, it had a thumb and four fingers.
00:55:31One, two, three, four.
00:55:35Which all got along quite well together.
00:55:38And like most hands, it was quite limber and useful.
00:55:47This particular hand, though, for some reason felt especially proud of all the clever things he could do.
00:55:53For instance, he could wave hello.
00:55:58And he could wave goodbye.
00:56:02He could tell someone to come ahead.
00:56:06Or to stop.
00:56:09He could say when things were okay.
00:56:12And he could point to exactly what he wanted.
00:56:17He was also quite pleased that he could be so strong.
00:56:27And that he could stand at attention so well.
00:56:35He could also scratch just about anywhere he itched.
00:56:47But one thing bothered the proud hand who could do so many things.
00:56:51He could not for the life of him make a noise.
00:56:54He had tried many times without success.
00:57:01And once, when the hand was thinking about this very thing,
00:57:05the little finger told the others about a way he had seen another hand make a noise.
00:57:10So they tried that, too.
00:57:25But somehow, it wasn't really what they were after.
00:57:29Although he knew it was silly, the hand became quite dejected.
00:57:35Then something happened.
00:58:29Which only goes to show.
00:58:31There's really no way around it.
00:58:32It takes two hands to clap.
00:58:43Well, it's time for us to use our hands to wave goodbye.
00:58:47Wave goodbye at them, kids.
00:58:48We'll see you again.
00:58:50Come back and see us soon, okay?
00:58:53Bye now.
