00:00:00That first Grand Prix victory starts from pole position.
00:00:12Second race of the day and it is Moto2. Barry Balthus on pole after David Alonso's times were
00:00:19scrapped from the record books for incorrect tyre pressures during qualifying. Still Balthus was
00:00:25two seconds quicker than the existing all-time lap record. That's because Pirelli have brought
00:00:31a soft tyre for this US Grand Prix in Moto2. We'll get into that in a second as we go

00:00:36through the order. Senere just want to watch from the second row of the grid alongside Celestino Vietti
00:00:41who's been successful here in the past. Further down the order there is David Alonso.
00:00:46Really good pace all weekend. Has pretty much looked a standout rider but unfortunately for him
00:00:52he starts way back at the row behind his teammate Danny Olgardo who leads the world championship.
00:00:57Sergio Garcia was a winner here a couple of scenes ago and yet he starts from the penultimate row of
00:01:03the grid with the new Moto3 world champion reigning champ at the back of the grid. He's struggling
00:01:08isn't he in his move into Moto2 at the moment Jose Antonio Rueda. But Michael as they power up the
00:01:16face of big red into turn one tyres because I want you to talk about them because do they have
00:01:23brought
00:01:23a softer option this year? Yeah they brought the SCX the what was designed as a pre-qualifying tyre but
00:01:30it is a race tyre in Moto2 developed in the World Superbike paddock. It's a great tyre when the temperature
00:01:35and track conditions are correct. The majority of the grid are on it today only the Mark VDS duo of
00:01:41are in Canet and Denisonji opted for the SC0 which is more regular still a very soft tyre but from
00:01:46speaking to riders and engineers this weekend it doesn't provide the grip around here the SCX
00:01:51well the lap times we've seen have been phenomenal it provides a lot more grip but it does drop and
00:01:56the front tyre is giving issues as well towards the end of the race so it is going to be
00:02:00attritional
00:02:00that way making sure you've got some rubber under you towards the end of the race and having
00:02:04something to fight with at the end I think that is the key today. So if there is a drop
00:02:10-off could
00:02:10there be a shot for someone like Canet on that fourth row? It's definitely looked a little better
00:02:14this weekend still not comfortable on the Boss Gosgro bike but with the slightly harder option and it's a
00:02:20soft tyre still is there a shot or do you just feel like the others will have too much advantage?

00:02:32Canet he seemed a lot happier I spoke a little bit with the team earlier and they said he just
00:02:36can't he doesn't have the confidence in the front to hang on to the brake and still figuring things
00:02:40out with the Boscosguro chassis it could be what we've seen yesterday in the sprint the option tyre
00:02:46may play and be a good card to play for the Mark BDS boys and they could come forward towards
00:02:51the end
00:02:51of the race we've seen it in the past here is Isan Guevara who of course is uh go one
00:03:00in the championship
00:03:01second in the opening round in Thailand six last time after a fight back in Brazil Daniel Gardo
00:03:06starts from the fifth row the great David Alonso from the sixth row either of those to come through
00:03:13I do believe that Alonso will come through I just had a stat from Steve Day the last person to
00:03:19win
00:03:19from row six or beyond Anthony West 2014 in Assen for 23rd in the grid so if Alonso pulls it
00:03:26off today
00:03:26that will be quite some stat in the current Moto2 era where normally the winner is found from the first
00:03:31two rows of the grid but Alonso with the pace he's got this weekend and Holgado he seems to be
00:03:35finding
00:03:36something throughout Saturday both are in with a shot at it here but it's Barry Balthus who starts in pole

00:03:43keep an eye on the Belgian we know times looks after his tyre other times he doesn't Alonso Lopes no

00:03:52to winning Grand Prix's in Moto2 and I'm helping Keras the rookie lurking Celestino Vietti's one to keep an eye

00:03:58we haven't even mentioned Manu Gonzalez on the third row of the grid two podiums to start his season
00:04:05keep an eye on Orgada the championship leader on row five Alonso who would have been on pole starting
00:04:09down on row six after he ran two soft tyres during qualifying here we go then we've got 60 laps
00:04:17of Moto2 in the
00:04:18US Grand Prix and Barry Balthus gets away well Alonso Lopes gets away even better Alex a script from the
00:04:26second row diving for the inside as they head up through the dust towards turn one it's Lopez who's
00:04:32going to lead they're turning underneath oh that's David Alonso I think that's David Alonso has gone down
00:04:40he was trying to make it what did he say about maybe a little bit of patience with a couple

00:04:44went down there was a collision Daniel Gardo and Joe Roberts have gone down disaster for the American
00:04:52at home Joe Roberts having a decent weekend Daniel Gardo we need to see again what happened obviously
00:04:57he and team Vietti look very similar and mired in the pack wow so the championship leader has crashed
00:05:04out there he is so hard to tell those two riders apart Danny and David Alonso from that high shot

00:05:10the bright pink Joe Roberts also walks away oh that's so frustrating isn't it the start of the race
00:05:17and your race is run uh in different oh that is what happened at turn one someone else is involved

00:05:28that one there surely someone lost the the brakes at Sydney didn't is that turn 11 then yeah just
00:05:33oh my goodness me that is another huge huge incident they're gonna surely have to red flag this
00:05:40that is a horrible mess that's someone looking like no brakes it's absolutely running running in it
00:05:47looks like someone lost the brakes completely as they run into turn 11. my apologies for that you
00:05:52know we're reviewing one incident then suddenly another happens at turn 11. wow Celestino Vietti makes a move
00:05:58it's Barry Baltus leading Vietti in second i can't imagine there's not going to be a red flag after that
00:06:04i'm pretty sure there's going to be a red flag here to allow the cleanup operation that was a lot

00:06:10carnage there hopefully all the riders involved are okay yeah uh Garcia Salach Munoz Piqueras
00:06:16Ferrandez David Alonso Colin Fire all involved in that crash there surely has to be a
00:06:24there's a red flag there it is it had to come it had to come that looked awful absolutely awful

00:06:35i don't want to i don't i don't want to see it again because that is a horrible horrible crash
00:06:41we'll get a full race restart what is it with motor 2 this year oh yeah they've been so unfortunate

00:06:46had what three starts in burry ram not um yeah not an easy one at all for all these guys

00:06:53and the teams as well it's one of those it's always a dangerous um thing if someone lose their
00:06:59brakes and they end up down the inside you hope they get to the outside but on this instance they're
00:07:03nowhere to go and funnel straight into the pack in front look at the medical staff right out there
00:07:07quickly there are ambulances pretty much at every marshall post as you can see that is something you
00:07:15do not want to see there are bikes strewn everywhere riders all over and uh yeah there's tony arvelino
00:07:24he's come back down into pit lane
00:07:30he was involved in it in some way as well i think he might have just been at the back
00:07:33and he rode straight
00:07:34down pit lane so not something we want to see at all at the start of the moto two grand
00:07:43prix of the
00:07:44united states joe roberts had already been cleared out up at turn one well separate incidents we
00:07:52understand between him and olgardo
00:07:57yes instantly your thoughts just are with the riders who have been involved in that crash exactly yeah i think
00:08:03uh colgado and joe will be allowed to restart so one that wasn't even completed it will be a full
00:08:12restart you can see the rear daniel munoz machine he was obviously involved in that contact at turn
00:08:1711 as well he's lost his tail unit i have no idea what happened we haven't seen it and that's
00:08:26the right
00:08:27decision not to uh replay colin fire has come back down pit lane so of those who were involved in
00:08:32it
00:08:33colin viat has come down into the pits a race will be restarted it will be restarted for a shorter
00:08:43distance well uh alonso david alonso understanding has also uh rejoined the race that means he's got back
00:08:51onto his bike he was one of the riders involved when we've got more information we will bring it to
00:08:58you but for now the riders head down the riders who were remaining head down there's alberto ferrandez
00:09:06talking to a medical staff he was one of the riders involved in it i think uh
00:09:15yeah i think the doctor down there just checking that everything okay with his head
00:09:23so there you can see the riders who were involved as we say colin fire has already come down pit

00:09:33but danny munoz has also you just saw you saw danny munoz he's come down pit lane
00:09:38so sergio garcia uh salach we've seen ferrandez and picaras just the weight of information that's
00:09:47why uh of course with salach there there is alonso i'll see i can't see the other side of his
00:09:53motorcycle
00:09:55we're going to see it again look we're seeing it from the overhead shot now this was it down into
00:09:59turn
00:09:5911. oh it's salach isn't it oh no is it is is it ferrandez's bike it's it's difficult to tell

00:10:16complete the screen but that looked like no brakes yeah it's a brake failure but by turn 11 you can

00:10:24a bit of pad knock back for 10. yeah through the bumps downhill at 10 come into 11 you grab

00:10:30doesn't stop you you grab again but yeah it did it looked like complete failure the speed that he entered
00:10:35into the corner it looked like he barely decelerated
00:10:41so david alonso now trying to compose himself not easy in that situation michael when you've been
00:10:46involved in something like that no his bike didn't look too badly obviously we only seen the right side
00:10:52of it but yeah body work all seemed to be fairly well intact but yeah he's um he's got a
00:10:59good head on
00:11:00the shoulders he will and a good team around him as well well there's salach
00:11:06i don't think it was salach then because his bike would be worse off if he was the one who
00:11:10went in
00:11:11oh okay again it's the white fairing on the side so i think it was it must have been verandes

00:11:19so they've got that special livery here this weekend for the sponsors american racing
00:11:28so that's trev morris down there just on the right he's uh in charge of extern pro and they're the
00:11:34company who recondition don't they all the triumph engines and distribute them to all the teams so he's
00:11:43just checking that everything's okay with the power unit so let's just do well to get yeah he's doing
00:11:49so well one-handed hanging on to a fairing if he's watching my training bike he's a skillful oh yes

00:11:55he could through a bike about and make it do things it shouldn't there's joe roberts making his way
00:12:00problem for joe is where's his bike because he is eligible yeah to restart from the outside of turn one

00:12:20at turn one we just saw a bit of a a flash of light blue of the turquoise of the

00:12:44him on the grid he looks like he's he's hurt as well oh yeah he's probably just gonna have a

00:12:56change of kit i would have thought still no information on the other riders involved
00:13:08so that would be sergio garcia is the only rider that we haven't yeah anything is that right yeah
00:13:14sergio was was being attended to but he had his legs up in the air or one knee up at
00:13:20least so
00:13:20and it did we did get the graphics in all riders conscious
00:13:23yeah get rid of that straight in the bin nice new newly painted fairing
00:13:36still don't have a restart time here for moto too
00:13:41and i'm pretty sure it'll be uh will it be a 10 lap race now usually get three down to
00:13:47oh daniel moody off wipe the nose of aaron can it i mean there's diving for the inside
00:13:53and there's diving for the inside here at the top joe roberts
00:14:03that was olgardo going through i missed what happened with joe roberts there yeah he was
00:14:07he lifted with uh salach as well together there he gets the into the back of joe actually all right
00:14:15yeah well with his dallas cowboys helmet on oh that is really unfortunate isn't it for joe there
00:14:25because someone wiped joe's nose at the front he got it from both ends oh but it's not going your
00:14:31way he got picked up by holgado hitting his back wheel as the back went up right then he got
00:14:35his
00:14:36front collected so yeah was it by salach it looked like it from the first shot i said they were
00:14:41together
00:14:44they see there's joe roberts just on the outside though it might be david alonso just turning across the
00:14:50front of joe unfortunately for olgado trying to go on a little too hot bottlenecked in there
00:14:57no room and contact with the back of joe roberts ends both their first starts but hopefully here for
00:15:03holgado it looks like the work ongoing you should see him back on the grid right when we get a
00:15:08race
00:15:09it will be for 10 laps and uh hopefully we'll have that coming up for you we're going to take
00:15:13a quick
00:15:13break and we will get a restarted moto 2 race we'll bring you more information when we have it
00:15:29welcome back to the circuit of the americas where we've had a red flag in the moto 2 race we
00:15:35will have a 10 lap shortened race in three minutes time the pit lane will be open we've just seen
00:15:41joe
00:15:42roberts running the length of pit lane with his bike there's a possibility because it didn't look
00:15:46like there was actually that much damage on his motorcycle now the front fender's off obviously
00:15:52from that contact the bodywork hopefully they can reattach it quickly in a three minute window
00:15:57but the problem is you need to change your tires they've been out of the blankets for so long now
00:16:01his bike hasn't got back so no warmers on there so you've got to change wheels as well in that
00:16:05three
00:16:06minute window whilst repairing the bike or maybe you focus on getting the bike repaired and then he's got a
00:16:11sighting lap to bring the tires up to temperature it won't be perfect but at least he'd be on the
00:16:14grid uh we've seen the crash in the interim while we were off on a break um we've sort of
00:16:21made a
00:16:21decision not to show you it because it's pretty brutal uh alberto ferrandez out of shape massively
00:16:29down the hill and he's taking evasive action dives towards the inside it's like he has a couple of
00:16:33goes it's not brake failure as such is it no he's definitely got a front brake because you could see
00:16:37he's stopping all the way into the inside but it looks like maybe pad knocked back down the hill
00:16:42he got a few goes at it stabbed it and then couldn't decelerate fast enough he went down
00:16:46the inside trying to avoid but unfortunately on lap one there's just too many bikes in his
00:16:50in his trajectory and he does collect them out and philip salach one of them who gets
00:16:56smacked royally the worst off in it was probably angel piqueras yeah angel unfortunately got a good
00:17:02whack on the collarbone on the shoulder um yeah then he was run over by one of the other bikes
00:17:08so yeah we will bring you information on him sergio garcia when we have it philip salach looks like
00:17:13he's trying to get back into the race but yeah we sort of made the decision not to show you
00:17:18it i'm sure
00:17:19if you wanted to you'll be able to go and find it is that fair yeah that's fair it was
00:17:24it was not a
00:17:26pretty one it's just a bit gratuitous yeah exactly it's brutal in the minutes some see people there
00:17:31we are piqueras and ferrandez going to the medical center i'm not surprised not surprised at all
00:17:39what a smack on the ankle piqueras there oh yeah piqueras we saw him stood up speaking to the marshals
00:17:47but yeah obviously go for a an assessment uh piqueras we haven't had too much in for one nothing on
00:17:54garcia yeah we i didn't see where he was there was so much going on in that incident i don't

00:18:00yeah i missed out on where he was so we're gonna have a restarted 10-lap race changes things a

00:18:08bit with a few people battered and bruised a few bikes we don't know if the aspar bike is going

00:18:14be able to get back in are the uh only fans american racing bikes able to get back in looks

00:18:19salachis will yeah joe's not even took his helmet on here so maybe it could start uh the race from
00:18:27titlian with a clean sightener warm-up lap but it's not going to make it here you've got one minute
00:18:33window on the fast restart procedure danny holgado is going to be able to start this one and david alonso
00:18:39quick work by the aspar boys we've seen them do that so many times haven't we aspar they are
00:18:46a great great team if you want to win championships kevin schwan said it to us this week you need
00:18:53a
00:18:54good team behind you and that is one of the best there is hold on they're actually delaying it oh
00:18:59they're stopping it stopping it yeah pit lane is open but or the boys have stepped in so a further
00:19:05delay
00:19:08perhaps that's on safety grounds because the scrutineers or you know you obviously you're
00:19:13relying on the engineers and mechanics getting things ready in a quick turnaround window maybe
00:19:18they're not happy to let people leave to the end without a check over potentially yeah the safety
00:19:27car hadn't left a bit late either i wonder if the safety car hadn't had a chance to go around
00:19:34and do
00:19:34a full recce as polly spar grow down there um working this weekend for spanish tv my understanding was
00:19:41he would have been out on the tech three bike in moto gp um if he had his leathers really
00:19:48but he
00:19:48didn't because obviously he was here as a pundit this weekend and manager for daniel gato obviously
00:19:53that's why he's down in his corner but yeah that's a shame paul obviously maverick binalis um it's the
00:19:59rider absent yeah maverick did start road and free practice one and then uh decided it was not
00:20:05going to be possible to finish the weekend yeah good to see paul back on the motor gp grid
00:20:11so this starts delayed again due to track conditions i feel like i've said that
00:20:17far too many times already it's not a business 2026 world championship in the last 10 days yeah
00:20:25we've had a few delays but we are you know obviously in thailand we had them as well
00:20:31yeah true shaking the head from the old stager martina's last part it's on those sort of things
00:20:39where everyone's rushing you know almost american racing they'd almost given up the ghost on joe
00:20:44roberts but if it is going to be delayed you need to know that don't you need to know it
00:20:46quickly
00:20:47i feel so much for joe roberts he's actually looked a lot better this weekend yeah he's made a step
00:20:52yesterday but yeah the luck he's having at the moment certainly not going his way at his home gp
00:20:59and it don't it looks like there's still a lot of work to complete there but the american racing team
00:21:03will continue to push on hopefully they get it completed in time there's mario aggie he starts
00:21:09further down the order than he would have liked down in 19 his pace is better than that
00:21:16it's the shots looking it's beautiful circuit there's no doubt about it it is one of the best
00:21:22facilities perhaps the best facility that we come to in terms of you know everything that's around
00:21:27the ratio certainly one of my favorite events to come to yeah it's a great event i see a lot
00:21:31of
00:21:31people on social media saying it's right up there bucket list event now with the nearby downtown austin
00:21:36live music capital of the world but you can see what they're doing with this facility as well there's
00:21:41roller coaster upon roller coaster built outside they're making it into a proper entertainment
00:21:46facility as if the track wasn't enough of a roller coaster itself
00:21:51the barry baltus has to compose himself had made the good start got away well yes he was
00:21:56pressured into the first quarter by lopez but reclaimed the lead
00:22:03good to see alonso lopez up there i spoke to him a length in
00:22:07site uh in brazil had a little chat with him uh and he was saying so much happier so much
00:22:12happier
00:22:13after the switch said the bike just feels better he said i'm not there yet but i feel like i'm
00:22:17getting
00:22:17there yeah this weekend has been a big step for him qualifying in the middle of the front row but
00:22:23throughout the practice sessions you've seen the rhythm and speedy had
00:22:26and yeah good to see after it has been a lean couple of years since those victories in the speed
00:22:31up
00:22:31the garage of phillip island always springs to mind how good he was there he's got some serious ability
00:22:37so yeah hopefully at christine with the calyx under him now he finds a good home
00:22:42making progress here now yeah don't we'll go in body work about to go on oh there we are
00:22:47so the pit lane opening was delayed so the medical good team could basically get back in positions
00:22:53i expect with so many riders down people had to go from different parts of the racetrack to it and
00:22:59so
00:22:59it's the right decision if you know if it's a medical a safety issue it's always the right decision
00:23:05so another six minutes until the tip then will open for a 10-lap race
00:23:09yeah this will just push things up towards moto gp won't it
00:23:16if you bear in mind what's 10 laps going to take us to do here 25 minutes something like that
00:23:2324 minutes
00:23:26and all the uh post-race procedure they go out at half past the hour don't they promoted gp so
00:23:33it's
00:23:33going to be very very tight they may have to delay it 10 minutes as they did yesterday for the
00:23:38sprint
00:23:43coming fire some running repairs there so pit lane will open in five minutes now
00:23:53the american racing squad should in that five minutes should be able to get it going you'd have
00:23:59thought so wouldn't you looks like it yeah i do think everyone should have been able to change
00:24:03tires as well yeah yeah i've seen the front wheel going in just on the last shot so that should
00:24:08be
00:24:09tires up to temperature there is the nose cone going on good science looks like joe will be on the
00:24:14grid
00:24:16so that is the one he looks beaten doesn't he yes he's had a big impact from that collision
00:24:23and it was lucky on the start almost got his nose wiped by danny munoz as he veered to the
00:24:33left
00:24:34like a bit naughty wasn't it was a little bit and we even on the run from the front row
00:24:39of the grid
00:24:39it was very close between barry baltus was trying to close off alonso lopez they almost made contact in
00:24:44the run up to turn one slightly chaotic few hundred meters there tony arvelino just got the fan trying
00:24:53to just compose himself he was involved as such but uh you had to pick the bike up
00:25:04a little bit of gaffer tape that's the
00:25:08tool everyone needs that'll sort you out
00:25:18really good work going on it's both sides of the garage isn't it working on joe's bike there there
00:25:23was some of phillips mechanics
00:25:29and the key there has been prepared with all your sub-assemblies out the back of the tip box oh
00:25:34daniel gardo's been handed a long lap penalty so starting from 15 on the grid
00:25:41just have a look at the top of the picture just look at danny munoz pulling right across in front
00:25:45of
00:25:46baron can it that's not on that one and then olgardo watch out for him on the inside on the
00:25:5096
00:25:53because danny's got in too tight and then uh ended up causing this crash he was inside the titlian
00:25:58actually on the run up the hill and that was where can it and uh once you really got caught
00:26:04out
00:26:08the one for me the danny munoz one is pretty naughty it he does really a bit yeah he's not
00:26:14intentionally trying to get across it but it's just a little bit too greedy here for
00:26:22it's that turn one though there you can see look at joe roberts in front so he gets his rear
00:26:28tire white then he's that makes him sit up and then his front's taken out then by david alonso yeah
00:26:34gets down on the shoulder it looked like
00:26:54joe roberts is going to be able to take part in this restarted race and and now in a shortened
00:27:02distance
00:27:04does that change things because we were expecting a tire drop off yeah i think it was for those who
00:27:09had a strategy of making sure they were keeping their energy keeping the tire towards the end of
00:27:14the race now it's going to be an all-out dash 10 laps as we've seen in the sprint yesterday
00:27:17and what
00:27:18happened in thailand who had tires to spare who took fuel out of their bike manuel gonzalez and we talked
00:27:24about it with the uh dynavolt team so the savvy teams will also have a spare there you are danny
00:27:32munoz got
00:27:32that long lap penalty for what we were talking about off the start unsafe change direction i know
00:27:39simon crayfart is hot on that yeah yeah swerving off the line it is such a when you've got all
00:27:46the bikes together it's a such a risky part of the race and he is he's clamped down on it
00:27:52over the last
00:27:52couple of years and you can see even a little nod of approval from danny munoz accepting it but yeah
00:27:57when
00:27:57you've 28 bikes there you've got to look out for your fellow rider oh barry is going for another
00:28:04one that you talked about from the start yeah i did think because barry sits off to the side he
00:28:10naturally goes so i've said this about him before he naturally veers to the left it's the way he sits
00:28:15on the bike and i was thinking it when he's on the start he sits to one side didn't he
00:28:18he does but then
00:28:19he did jink to the left a little bit to try and block off alonso lopez who was he could
00:28:23probably sense
00:28:24pulling up alongside him so all right well that this is a few penalties to be played out here now
00:28:36the pit lane will open in 15 seconds time it's all going off here what the stewards and simon
00:28:44crayfart are doing there is trying to calm the riders down a little bit they've just witnessed
00:28:47those two unsafe changes of direction off the start the contacting collision from elgato at turn one then
00:28:52alberto for others making a mistake and causing a huge pile up so it's now just we're watching you
00:28:58ah well done that's both american racing runners back on the grid
00:29:03both good lads as well really brought a great partnership with jake dixon last year
00:29:12good to see they're both able to take part having both been taken out
00:29:17on the first start on the first start so we go again a reminder the quick start procedure
00:29:23they all ride around now try and get some heat into their tires
00:29:30almost had a crash on turn one on the sighting lap then they'll come to the grid they'll have one
00:29:36mechanic out there and then they go for another final warm-up lap and then we'll have a 10-lap
00:29:42race
00:29:4325 degrees of air temperature at the moment it is getting hotter throughout the afternoon

00:29:53pit lane closing now and soon we'll know who is taking part in this restart i'm guessing as we

00:36:13negotiated turn one safely everyone threw cleanly celestino v80 had a good start on the first one
00:36:19and he's going again from fourth in the grid it is a nice position up on the outside of big

00:36:25allows you to look at your rivals and pick it up and go wide if necessary but yeah he's cleanly

00:36:36v80 or has a second moment as he pulls it back in the left-hander and now pressure being piled

00:36:41from isan guevara on center ages ages comes back strong on the black dynamo bike he's there in
00:36:47fourth place it's lopez from now barry baltus another wobble for celestino v80 and then center ages
00:36:52is there in full spot isan guevara and behind manuel gonzalez attacking oh a scritch turning across his nose
00:36:59but gonzalez makes the move stick everyone clearly through turn 11 as well it does look like the
00:37:05bosco scuro of chelestino v80 is on the edge here at the moment very twitchy but he'll settle into it
00:37:09get these tires up to temperature and settle into a nice rhythm looks like a move from guevara he is
00:37:15trying again on center ages but perhaps center's got the line he does close the door and v80's white
00:37:20been mistaken to turn 12 and meanwhile barry baltus has taken over the lead of this race from
00:37:26alonso lopez on the number seven daniel gardo's dropping a little bit down the order behind mario agi now
00:37:33championship leader of course way down and outside the 26th stand and then he will have a long lap
00:37:38penalty to take center ages covering off any move there potentially from isan guevara as vietti
00:37:47drops back to fifth just ahead of manuel gonzalez and alexis grich so through turn 19 and 20s baltus
00:37:55clean talk about gonzalez having the the race pace or the ability to control his race over 10 laps he's
00:38:00got to get moving early here keeping his nose clean on lap one he's got to set about chasing down
00:38:06alonso lopez and barry baltus at the front
00:38:11up the hill they go the end of the first lap nine to go with baltus leading remember he's got
00:38:16to take a
00:38:16long lap penalty center ages in a good position here with the isan guevara is the one who's looking

00:39:29david alonso had to pick the bike up there as he battled with colin via roberts got through so
00:39:35roberts making progress but as he did so via had to pick his bike up and alonso almost cleared out
00:39:41it was almost another front end way but he done well to stay on board today again just contacted the
00:39:47rear of colin via that time around if you're barry baltus here you now try and take the three laps

00:39:53you that you've got three chances uh and open up a little bit of a gap yeah you know the
00:39:57grip we're going to be
00:39:58hanging on oh look at this vieti that's a late one for celestino vieti on isan gavara yeah i'm not

00:40:34got the pace here that he did have yesterday he certainly was one of the fastest in terms of race
00:40:38rhythm but he's not been able to activate it here in the early laps and get swallowed up by alex
00:40:44eskridge lose a touch with the the lead five on board with isan gavara just feathering it through
00:40:50in the snake oh another moment for celestino same corner pieti his bike is looking so so twitchy
00:40:59yeah he's almost lost it about ten times in the opening couple of laps certainly nervous down the
00:41:04hill when it hits the box but the uh the front loss he's lost the front he's lost the rear

00:41:10back oh the front twitch there i thought he was gonna have it tucked under but yet he's got some
00:41:15feeling control and belief in his boscos girl
00:41:22so as uh center ages now pulls alongside barry baltus it's ages who's on the charge here ages who's

00:41:32he's picked to him up now on this lap center ages and he's through to lead barry baltus now does

00:41:39change a change of plan i was wondering if he might dive down the long lap loop but not on

00:41:43he just wants the race to spread out as much as possible now baltus here as we saw this morning
00:41:48it's almost three seconds or could be around about three seconds to do the long lap lane which would
00:41:53drop him down along with columbire or thereabouts so yeah it's going to be a fair old penalty for baltus
00:41:58with uh about to finish at lap three center ages of course uh had a tough start to the season

00:42:06pole in thailand involved in that incident at the front remember with david alonso there that brought
00:42:11out the red flag uh and then last time out in brazil was at the back of the grid just
00:42:15never got it
00:42:16working so hasn't scored points yet this year but he leads the end of lap three of the us grand

00:42:23he is fastest on track by half a second now good lap from center you said it before gav about
00:42:28the impact
00:42:29gp being ready for these scenarios getting a little bit of fuel like new tires in this yeti a good

00:42:34on alonso lopez chelsteen was feeling this so at the moment he's second in terms of the fact that
00:42:41barry baltus has got to do the penalty lane but that gives senna a little bit of a margin in

00:42:45the gap he's pulled out from so as they stake through the s's there is vieti back into third head

00:42:52alonso lopez ysan gavara looking to bounce now daniel olgado and daniel munoz have both done their
00:42:59long lap penalties they sit 18 for munoz olgado down in 20 seconds nine and a half seconds behind

00:43:20further back alex is scritch still holding off manuel gonzalez they're coming back though to the
00:43:27group in front aren't they turn seven he had a crush earlier this weekend didn't he i don't play it

00:43:39here comes ysan gavara launching it alonso lopez it's a couple of times now that lopez has lost out
00:43:46in there and barry baltus that's three times he's gone past the long lap loop yeah he's got to do

00:44:55really good moving it firm move made it stick no way back for a screech
00:45:00have to commit on the run-up out of turn two and just go for that inside
00:45:05nicely done manu's picked it up a gear on the last lap around he's still looking up in a 7

00:45:11we've had a 6-6 from bieri last time around he's the fastest man on track yeah and he's closing

00:45:22it's all about getting the most out of your tires throughout this 10 lap race little wobble there
00:45:27for ages similarly for vietti behind barry baltus now has closed right in on ages once more but will
00:45:35have to do the long lap loop on this lap and look at that side by side barry just been

00:45:41unsafe weave across the track in the first part of the race that's why he's taking the long lap penalty
00:45:47he's got to the center oh it's good he's got to the left side a little bit so just compromise

00:46:54panic expected to see some moto gp build up now we'll have it and the race will still be on

00:47:04just going to be a bit of a rush i think at the end of this moto two race yeah
00:47:08just look at down the order danny holgado done his personal best last time around but it was
00:47:13only a seven seven not quite got the pace here in this race today
00:47:17so ayumi sasaki has been given a long lap penalty
00:47:23for an unsafe rejoin so obviously he's gone off track and then
00:47:27come back onto it without looking got in someone's way perhaps
00:47:30yeah it's made contact which often happens at the end of the long straight into 12
00:47:36you run off and then come back into the yeah the oncoming traffic
00:47:42just in the final scoring position just being passed by daniel munyot
00:47:49so aegis look at the pace of aegis on that previous lap that just dropped significantly
00:47:55and now you've got to start thinking of the riders who are good at pacing themselves
00:48:00manu gonzalez is exactly i'm thinking david alonso who's now up to sixth place
00:48:05i think personal best the last time around and now you can see the podium battle just up in front
00:48:09disposed of alonso lopez i think david alonso will waste a lot of time here he'll try and find
00:48:14a way through you've got four laps you'd imagine no tire issues at this point push on go for it

00:48:30they file through the fast left-hander of turn 19. track bottoms out there and then climbs up once
00:48:37more this is manuel gonzalez on the number 18 his teammate is leading on the 81 and aegis just
00:48:43recovered a little bit fastest rider on circuit michael david alonso and he's just got alonso lopez
00:48:51for fifth place the gap was 3.4 it's now 2.2 between himself and aegis he couldn't could eat
00:48:58from 17th on the grid he certainly could if anyone could is that man dammit alone so once he gets
00:49:04a
00:49:04bit too little teeth even when we see them take his first victory last year he just kept coming forward
00:49:09kept coming once he sees it's possible and let's not forget he's been involved in two collisions in the
00:49:14first part of the race one when joe roberts hit the side of his bike then he was involved in
00:49:19the big big
00:49:20accident that caused the red flag at turn 11 and now the colombian is there in fifth spot still a
00:49:25just leads though vieti in second still a long way to go guevara is third gonzalez four and now alonso
00:49:31david alonso is there in fifth place but the laps are ticking away he might not have enough time to
00:49:38do this here it's going to have to happen thick and fast for him as alonso lopez appears around his
00:49:44outside onto the straight they go with three and a half laps remaining it's going to use a lot of
00:49:49tires and likewise money goes others to get across the front three ages and it's so easy with those
00:49:56stx's isn't it to just push for one lap and it can be the end of your tire uh alonso
00:50:02lopez fancies
00:50:02he's going on the roller coaster and uh he's heading out there and he's going to drop down the order
00:50:07yeah he dropped five baltus now looks like a miss backship perhaps he went to the right side runoff
00:50:12there's plenty of time i've grown up there at the end of the long stream and i'd say a tough
00:50:16one for
00:50:17alonso this is interesting here manuel gonzalez forward progress has just stalled and i wonder if
00:50:22it is that that we said that when you do have these fast laps you do put one in notice
00:50:26the pace
00:50:28hasn't continued for vieti for example for guevara yeah the surface temperature you're working harder for a
00:50:34lap or two and then it doesn't quite feel the same you just lack a little bit of stop and
00:50:39turning and
00:50:39acceleration a little moment for gonzalez there yeah and also center aegis has recovered and recuperates
00:50:45hasn't he at the front he's just composed himself three laps to go aegis leads and he's back into the
00:50:52206s and actually on that lap center aegis it was who was fastest on the racetrack david alonso
00:50:59attacking manuel gonzalez is this a battle between title contenders here as it stands gonzalez is
00:51:06leading the world championship three and a half points over the bar as i mentioned had a tricky
00:51:12weekend didn't he was targeting the top ten when i spoke to his crew earlier today and look at this
00:51:17he's in a podium position as things stand although that's about to come under threat from this young
00:51:22colombian contender you can see the three in front as we look from the onboard shots of manu gonzalez
00:51:27can we make a petition to the fim next time it's half points can they not just make it 13
00:51:32points or
00:51:32something like that instead of like these half points it's just look messy on the graphics it's
00:51:36don't look right it does it really quite work for my ocp they come on board with manuel gonzalez looking
00:51:45at david alonso just doesn't look like he's quite got anything for him at the front center
00:51:50range his lead has been cut again by celestino vietti
00:51:56another 10th out and he's right in a slipstream and finding a way through
00:52:00center he's again center on straights center it's remember silverstone yeah last year that was cruel
00:52:06watching a buddy got it done at the end it hurts obviously when you're a bigger rider it's long in
00:52:12terms of his limbs so just catching a little bit more air or drag down the street hurts an acceleration
00:52:18as well but the center knows how to manage a race so it's celestino vietti who takes over at the
00:52:25front
00:52:25of course uh on the bosco school rope compared to the calyx of center ages and then behind on another
00:52:30bosco school rope isan gavara they've been working well here this weekend
00:52:38vietti lighting it up out of there and that's going to give the opening isn't it for center ages
00:52:43to make the pass but he's surely going to run wide there vietti's alongside him and into the final
00:52:48corner vietti reed takes the lead yeah that's good from senna wanted to respond and regain control at the
00:52:54front here he's got the drive as well on him up towards turn one again on the straights
00:52:58center just loses out we always know the speed up team are quite harrowing with their their body
00:53:05worker have been over the years whether that's a backer as well here for yeti or vietti down the hill
00:53:12two laps remaining in this race now through turn two looks like vietti was losing the front down there
00:53:17and he did go wide and ages is back past him this is a crazy moto two race if moto
00:53:23three wasn't good
00:53:25enough here we go again in this shortened moto two event just 1.1 off the back of this uh
00:53:32battle for
00:53:33the podium positions he's got to join here on the last lap waiting to pick up the pieces on that
00:53:38last
00:53:39lap you see he was four tenths quicker and he's looking at the front sorry look at the right side
00:53:44of his
00:53:44front tyre yeah that he just let go at turn nine it's banded i mean all of them now are
00:53:50on the absolute
00:53:51limit with these tires they can be worked very very hard very quickly especially that rear scx but
00:54:00to the front you can see the banding on david alonso side mario agi has crashed out he was down
00:54:06in the
00:54:06final scoring position here comes gonzalez now with the drive on david alonso but alonso outbreaks
00:54:14it down towards turn 12. does he run wide no that's that's perfect isn't it from alonso doesn't
00:54:21want to give this one up his front tire will be look again and twitches in his way his right

00:54:27and his right handers is suffering big time i think at the front that's happening too with the likes of
00:54:32vietti isn't it yeah we've seen a lot of moments for vietti the left side not given so much problem
00:54:37with the right shoulder watch this the front we really not want the turn here for david alonso
00:54:42but the true david alonso styling just get the load transferred to the rear just use the rear wheel
00:54:47exactly right here we go then as we're watching alonso let's not forget center ages he's still
00:54:53leading this race the aussie has responded in fine fashion chelestino vietti's had so many warnings as
00:54:59well on the front end are they going to be able to chase him down one lap to go in
00:55:03the us grand prix
00:55:04could center ages take victory for the third time another two minutes 7.1 from center what a response
00:55:11hopefully the crew give him a signal on the board that he has well a little bit of margin
00:55:15but he's eating up on the brakes for vietti there into turn one he's three corners like this though
00:55:20where look chelestino vietti just he's not able to match center at all you wonder if gevara can have
00:55:26a go here i think david alonso he's cooked he's not gonna end up winning this race unless something
00:55:34really dramatic happens at the front it's between ages vietti and let's not count out isan guvara

00:55:46through turn eight now up the hill over nine
00:55:53he's not been able to show a wheel though has he i wonder if he's having trouble at the back
00:55:58putting the power down now this is center ages his problem here a little bit wider there is vietti
00:56:04able to get a run on him let's see from the overhead pictures now i think he's safe enough this

00:56:52emotional time over the last couple of weeks for the dynavolt team center ages losing one of his
00:56:57mechanics luna roberto lunaday and this one will be for him as center ages comes to the final corner
00:57:03to take his first points of the season and he's going to do it in the u.s grand prix

00:57:29going to score a championship point here today no he doesn't even though sasaki gets a double long lap
00:57:35penalty for not taking the long lap olgado is out of the points what a moto two event we've just

00:57:42yeah impressive from center ages the young aussie kept his composure responded those last two laps
00:57:48another two minutes 7.1 on the final circulation he kept his tires under him perfectly he responded
00:57:53after the move from chelsea novieri and a deserved winner and it will be an emotional one down that
00:57:58intact gp pit box it will be such an emotional time down there for the german squad and their australian
00:58:06rider center ages who is growing in stature all the time and there it is the point to the heavens
00:58:15it will be an emotional one i've spoke to center about this he'll feel this one he takes victory

00:58:26what a what a day what an emotional day it will be for him so much going on so much
00:58:31to contend with and he
00:58:32comes out on top with vietti and guevara alongside when we go back from the break we'll be heading

01:01:18jorge martin has done it as he takes victory in the sprint race here at the circuit of the americas

01:01:29jorge martin has crashed out on the cool down lap
01:01:33what is going on that has been uh some some sprint race that
01:01:44and that is an understatement it was absolutely incredible welcome to the paddock here at the
01:01:48circuit of the americas michael and sylvan joining me we loved that yesterday that was the most fantastic
01:01:53sprint we've had in some time michael i loved it it had everything you can't have your winner crashing
01:01:59after a flag and uh yeah not talk about that but obviously that was the the mute point for jorge
01:02:04martin the way he rode the race the overtake on the last lap the clean block pass to get it
01:02:08done after
01:02:09what has been uh 18 months of hell for him so yeah he's back on on form winning the sprint
01:02:15and fired
01:02:15up for a main race featured today absolutely and an inspired choice of tyre as well and he was the
01:02:20only
01:02:20one that went for that medium brave but it came good it takes cut to do a choice like this
01:02:25you know
01:02:26usually when you're the only one making that making a single um singular choice you are the guy that's
01:02:31wrong but he didn't he made that medium work uh in the sprint race the all the soft tires actually
01:02:37dropped for the last two laps peko berniella was really in trouble with his rear tire at the end of
01:02:42that sprint and martin coming on with the win he's still progressing though he's getting better and
01:02:46better that aprilia is uh is the real deal as well and he's on top of the world he's leading
01:02:50the
01:02:50championship which is extraordinary isn't it as we're in the third event let's have a look at that
01:02:54overtake then that propelled him to the victory it was a classic move into what is a first gear
01:02:59hairpin corner he sets it up well in the straight he's coming he's coming he knew what he was going
01:03:03to do didn't waste any time i thought he might leave it to the last sector but he went for
01:03:07it
01:03:08instinctive down the inside you're in sixth gear here back the the gears back to first gear and then
01:03:13he just releases a bit of brake pressure sends it down the inside goes a little past the tip in
01:03:17point but doesn't take him off the track so it was a clean block pass positioned his bike exactly
01:03:22where pika wanted to put his jacques and jorge he knew he had it from here because he had more
01:03:27grip
01:03:28over the last part of the lap and yeah comfortable across the line and almost that wheelie didn't go
01:03:33very good either too much aero on these bikes too much wheelie control you can't get the front wheel
01:03:37up into the air but yeah what a stylish victory it was for him for the team and as you
01:03:41mentioned the
01:03:41entire choice inspired from daniele romagnoli the uh crew chief in there takes uh it's it's a brave one
01:03:47to make that call against the green and okay was a big part of that decision as well though wasn't
01:03:51he with his with his team crew chief yeah it sounded this morning from palo benora that jorge believed in
01:03:56it quite insistent yeah he did say insistent that's that's a strong obviously but you have to if the
01:04:01redder feels it inside that gut instinct you've got to let them go with it okay uh there was also
01:04:07uh
01:04:07plenty of incidents throughout uh mark marquez made a well a terrible choice really silvan on track and
01:04:14ended up taking out to fabio di gianantonio who was going from pole position i mean this this was
01:04:20never on was it no no it wasn't on and uh you know you can't ever think that was a
01:04:25retaliation for that
01:04:26wound move there uh fabio di gianantonio that made it count in the first lap of the inside marquez
01:04:33trying to get him back straight away into turn 12 but he's way too far this is never on he
01:04:38was going
01:04:38to run off track anyway loses the front and make poor a digital tonio crash as well so yeah on
01:04:45the
01:04:45receiving end there he was hungry and rightly so after that that move i mean you can see there he
01:04:51comes from miles behind and he was going to run off the track there so yeah that was that was
01:04:56never on
01:04:57offline and then yeah you can see that the front wheel of fabio di gantonio getting wiped out nothing
01:05:02you can do about it um i mean he's got to try and turn that into positive motivation i'll definitely
01:05:07be
01:05:07motivated for that grand prix now well he's told mark to keep an eye on today and you can take
01:05:12that two ways really a penalty for mark in this long lap penalty so just quickly what does that mean
01:05:17for him how bad is that it's pretty bad as we see the motor two it costs about three seconds
01:05:21it
01:05:22it's going to take him out of podium contention he's going to have to fight back use a lot of
01:05:25tire to
01:05:25regain that uh three seconds plenty to get our teeth into isn't there so many stories this weekend
