01:22I want to go back to that pit stop,
01:24though, Larry, where it's question of
01:25why Billy Scott decided to stay out, and
01:28this is why right here.
01:30Well, again, they did it earlier, and had
01:32it not been for that bad stop, it would
01:34have worked out just fine for them.
01:36Well, while we're at it right now, let's
01:39just talk about the trends of the race.
01:40Now, they've been a little fickle this
01:42year, but I don't make these numbers up.
01:43They're the real world.
01:44But in the eight races with a Gen 7 car
01:47at Darlington, which has been basically
01:49the last four plus years, the average of
01:51the last caution comes at 27 to go, which
01:55is about two laps from now.
01:56We have had two overtimes, the spring of
01:5923 and the spring of 25.
02:00That would completely change the complexity
02:03of this race.
02:04And here's the fight for the lead.
02:09Tyler Reddick led 49 laps, most of them
02:12very early as he started from the pole.
02:14Brad Kozlowski's led the most laps.
02:18105 so far.
02:20This is the adjustment down here making
02:23the difference, and that's why.
02:25That is unbelievable right there how fast
02:29that 45 is, but that all started on the
02:31entry to the corner.
02:32He had that high entry, got through the
02:34first part of the corner really well, and
02:36was able to cut that car down.
02:38Brad was on the opposite trajectory.
02:40He was low entry, having to go up the
02:42racetrack in the middle of the track, and
02:44just way better race car drove by race car
02:48tires, everything for Tyler Reddick.
02:50But he entered higher, like you said, Clint.
02:53Yeah, when he entered high, Brad entered
02:55low, and when he had to lift, he crossed
02:57him, he was already back on the gas and
02:59drove off.
03:00That's a textbook pass, and Reddick's been
03:02doing that all weekend long, entering a
03:04little higher, and a 1.
03:06We noticed that yesterday in practice, and it
03:08just paid dividends and put him in the lead.
03:1240 laps into this race, Tyler Reddick was
03:15wondering if he had a car that would get
03:17him to the finish line.
03:19Alternator not charging.
03:21So all that equipment, especially your cool
03:24suit that you cannot run, and yet here he is
03:27with the lead.
03:29So we think it's going to make it.
03:3226 to go.
03:39The battery in the car looked like a small
03:41lithium-ion style batteries ran down.
03:44They put a bigger one in it, and it
03:46should get him to the finish.
03:49Here's the race for 10th place.
03:50Josevar, the hurricane underneath Kyle
03:53Larson, and looking for more on Suarez.
03:56Started dead last today.
03:58That hurricane, Josevar has done a great
04:00job today, getting up through the field,
04:04staying patient.
04:05Right side of that thing's not all tore up.
04:08Almost won the truck race Friday, was
04:10leading it with four laps to go.
04:12Yeah, as you see, Carson looked at the
04:13inside of Suarez right here for ninth
04:15position, and you know, look, Carson has
04:18knocked two toe links out of this car in
04:21practice and qualifying, and I think the
04:24thing that people don't give Carson
04:25enough credit for, he does learn, and he
04:29makes a lot of people mad and does a
04:31lot of things that the drivers don't
04:32like, but he's exciting to watch, but
04:34he's also really fast.
04:35He's going to knock some toe links off,
04:37but here we are with 24 laps to go, and
04:40his car is still rolling, so he's done a
04:41great job today.
04:42And it's moving forward.

04:45How about Ryan Blaney in the run that
04:46he's on, you guys?
04:47He got around Gibbs now in fourth, and
04:49this run is impressive for multiple
04:51reasons.
04:51One, this has not been a place that he's
04:54got the finish as you come to expect.
04:56Just one top five finish in 18 races
04:58here.
04:59On top of that, yesterday when they
05:01unloaded, they were not happy with the
05:02speed.
05:03They felt like they were really off.
05:05They threw a bunch at this race car
05:06yesterday and this morning.
05:08Then you add on to that, the poor pit
05:10stocks twice today.
05:11Not a lot of confidence when he comes
05:13down pit road, but he is overcoming
05:15that on the racetrack for Ryan Blaney.
05:18It's been a strange day for Team
05:20Penske.
05:21Blaney doing Blaney things, passing
05:23cars, he's fourth.
05:25Austin Sendrick has had a rather
05:26quiet day, but he's been in the top
05:28ten most all day.
05:29Sendrick is seventh, and Joey Logano
05:32has had a day he'd like to forget,
05:34three laps down and 33rd.
05:38Well, Austin Sendrick has done a
05:41nice job, and there's been points in
05:43the day where it looked like that
05:44car could run in the top five, but
05:46Austin Sendrick has done a nice job,
05:47Joey Logano's day has been awful,
05:49and, you know, you heard him say on
05:51the radio that how bad that they
05:52missed the setup on this car.
06:00Definitely not something that you
06:02expect to see out of this 22 team
06:04and in a performance like they've
06:07had today.
06:07So this will definitely be a topic,
06:10a conversation as you show up on
06:12Monday, and I promise you that man
06:14right there will be there early.

07:18And, you know, you look for Kyle Larson

07:23They're ninth and eleventh.
07:24But let's not forget Carson Hosovar's
07:27teammate Daniel Suarez.
07:28He's he's running tenth.
07:30So what a great day for for Spire
07:32Motorsports from from those two cars.
07:41Hosovar had to start the race from
07:43the rear after they changed an upper
07:45control arm this morning.
07:46So from thirty seventh to eighth with
07:51eighteen to go.
07:53I know we touched on this earlier in a
07:55race about this seven car, but you've
07:59been a part of changing teams and
08:00changing organizations and all the
08:02all the questions that that come with
08:04that.
08:05And how is that going to go?
08:07This one's been pretty consistent to
08:09start these first several weeks of
08:11the season with with Suarez and his
08:12team.
08:13Well, especially, you know, I don't
08:15know what happened there.
08:17Transpired.
08:18None doesn't matter.
08:19End of the day.
08:20He's not at track house anymore.
08:21He's at Spire.
08:23And when you lose a ride like that
08:26and you move on, you just never know.
08:28And you worry about it.
08:29You worry yourself sick about it in
08:30the off season.
08:31You try to do everything you think
08:33on paper.
08:33It looks pretty good.
08:34Everybody thinks that way, right?
08:36Here's the plan.

09:08only had four caution flags today.
09:09Two of them were for the stage ends.
09:12Tyler Reddick.
09:13Trouble starting earlier.
09:15A jack issue.
09:16And then the charging issue.
09:19The alternator was turning, but not
09:21charging the battery.
09:22They had to replace the battery.
09:23So Brad Kozlowski won stages one and
09:26two, which included a caution when
09:30Denny Hamlin got into the back of
09:32Eric Jones.
09:33Bubba Wallace also involved.
09:35That was at the midpoint of stage
09:37two.
09:39Big close call here.
09:41Tyler Reddick and Chris Buescher was
09:43trying to slow down to Pitt, but
09:45neither knew the other's plan.
09:47And Buescher got up and bounced off
09:49the wall.
09:52Then a lap 197.
09:54We had a spin up in turn number
09:58four, Riley Herbst.
09:59That's the only other caution today.
10:05We were questioning the damage on
10:07Chris Buescher's car.
10:09And I think that it's obviously still
10:11running good, but that's going to
10:12allow Josevar that little loose
10:14right there.
10:15Thought that was going to allow
10:16Josevar to get on the outside of
10:18him.
10:18But at a bare minimum, he got right
10:20to his back bumper.
10:22He's going to take this car from
10:25about 10th on this run and maybe
10:28put it in the top five here.

10:40there.
10:43Well, we've seen those three wides not
10:45work out with everybody still rolling.

11:22We were watching that battle with

11:26Josevar was the latest of everybody
11:28to come to pit road on the green
11:30got the freshest tires.
11:34Well, the two cars ahead of him now
11:36are about three seconds out.
11:38But as Larry pointed out his tires
11:40are seven laps fresher than theirs.
11:42Maybe he can run them down in these
11:44last eleven laps.
11:47Fun to watch.
11:48He might run a couple of them down
11:49but Redick is one lap shorter
11:52than.
11:54Blaney's flying guys.

11:57About two tenths faster than
11:59second place.

13:14able to overcome the adversity of
13:16everything that they've been

13:18Come to pit road and purposely put
13:22another battery into that car
13:24having to get it out with no
13:26cool suit pumping his own water
13:27out out and being able to keep
13:30himself in the car all day
13:32physically.
13:33So this is going to be a one tire
13:35driver but they have had the best
13:38car all weekend.
13:39And not and not just leg it out
13:42and get a finish when the race
13:44after everything he's been
13:45through Kyle Larson just made a
13:47pit stop late pitted from 11th.

13:52Larson will fall off the lead lap.
13:55How about these last couple of
13:57races with drivers racing from
13:58the back to the front to win
14:00Blaney a couple weeks ago Denny
14:02Hamlin last week Tyler Reddick
14:04today.
14:05Well think about it.
14:06You know we we've had some
14:09different rules we've had some
14:10different things happen we've
14:11had here we've got a different
14:13right side tire we've got more
14:14horsepower.
14:15And at Phoenix we had more
14:17horsepower.
14:18And so when you have those
14:19scenarios of things that that
14:21change that everybody hasn't had
14:23figured out yet it allows for
14:25for things to happen as you see
14:26Jose Barr go by Chase Briscoe
14:28fourth place.
14:31What a drive in this last
14:34segment.
14:35With a 23 year old from Michigan.
14:38And right now he's hoping for a
14:40caution.

14:41He wants to have a chance.

14:46restarts to take chances and do
14:49what he needs to do to try to win

19:20job of trying to keep him calm.
19:21We knew we had a fast car.
19:23We knew we on a 30 lap run.
19:25We were real good on a short lap
19:26run.

19:27So we just had to get the car
19:29right.
19:30And you know he kept his composure
19:31and I think he did an unbelievable
19:32job.
19:32I know you're so competitive.
19:34How fun is that when you know he's
19:36down and out and watching him come
19:37through the field.
19:38Well I just wanted everything to
19:39be you know good.
19:41You know because once he gets back
19:42out there then I feel like his
19:43competitive juices are going to
19:44carry him all the way to the end.
19:46And you know those are the longest
19:4718 to 20 laps that I can even
19:49imagine.
19:50You just I just didn't want to see
19:51a coffee caution and their
19:52caution would have changed
19:53everything.
19:54But he did the job.
19:55He earned it all week.
19:57And I'm real proud of the team.

21:45a whole lot more than that in the middle of this race when you're on pit road changing
21:50a battery about 50 laps in.
21:52Did you think it was going to be possible?
21:55I just, I know never to give up, and I think it's very fitting that when we finally get
22:02our first win here at Darlington that the Lady in Black would test us like that.
22:06We've been so close so many times, and I mean lap one, we had the charging problem where
22:11the battery wasn't charging at all, so all day long just not running fans, swept my tail
22:17off inside the race car.
22:18And we knew it was going to be physical, so yeah, I don't know.
22:22Really wore out, but I guess I don't need as much of that cooling stuff as I normally have.
22:27I'd be careful saying that too loud.

22:41Yeah, I mean, ever since I made my first lap here in O'Reilly Auto Parts car, there's just
22:47something about this racetrack that's so special, just so challenging, and it's been really fun
22:52for my evolution as a driver over the years, my time in O'Reilly Auto Parts car and my time
22:58at RCR and what we perfected, my time here at 2311, so just really proud of everybody, and
23:05it's cool to get Boss Man in his fourth win on the year.

23:12Well, Brad Kozlowski comes home in the runner-up position, led 106 laps, a big-time points day
23:17for you as well, 55 points, but I heard you guys say it on the radio, felt like you might
23:20have had the best car on the day.
23:22How do you process this?
23:23Yeah, no, we didn't have the best car on the day, not compared to Tyler.
23:26Tyler drove a hell of a race, and he's driving a rocket, and he's making it count right now,
23:30so I think we got the most out of the day.
23:32We're going to get honest, but we scored a lot of stage points, second place, first
23:38place loser, but that's okay.
23:40We're doing the things we need to do and making the most of the days we have, and it's really
23:43cool to have the great Biffle cars running up front.
23:46I put a nice right-side stripe on the car.
23:49I think that would make Greg proud.
23:51If you know Greg, you'll understand that one, but a good day for us on plumbing Ford Mustang.

24:30But I'm really proud of the 12 guys for bringing me a good car and getting it better all day
24:34and kind of adjusting to where we were in the pack.
24:37You know, that's kind of a tough, tough way to do it.

25:57So there's really starting to get themselves in a rhythm.
26:00And you're really starting to see the performance this year with those four wins early on all from Tyler Reddick.
26:06It wasn't just Reddick.
26:08Carson Hosovar came on like a hurricane today.

26:12What a performance there.
26:13Not only all day long, but in particular at the end of the race for Carson Hosovar.
26:17It started in the rear today.
26:18You guys had to work on this car a lot early on.
26:20But when it counted at the end, it was a rocket ship.
26:23Yeah.
26:23I mean, I didn't make it easy.
26:25I hit the wall.
26:26We started last.
26:27And then, you know, we had a loose wheel at some point.
26:29And, you know, just trying to, you know, just grind it out, you know, and felt like our car was
26:35good when I finally could get it rolling and just get momentum and we can get one-on-one.
26:39But if there was 10 in front of me, yeah, it was just kind of stuck.
26:42So, yeah, super proud of this effort.
26:44You know, Chili's put a lot of pressure on me to run good with the scheme.
26:48So, super happy to run good here.
26:50They put a lot into throwback.
26:51They put a lot into this race program.
26:53And it's great to get them a good result.
26:54And, yeah, super proud of everybody at Spire, really.
26:58You know, this 77 team.
26:59Last year, we found every way to run 30th.
27:01This year, I was like, oh, no.
27:02Like, we just find every way to finish 20th.
27:04You know, bad luck, whatever.
27:06But, you know, it's good to take one and steal one a little bit here.
27:09Well, certainly fun to watch at the end of the race.

27:19Yeah, I think just first time in a long time, I feel like I can say we've had three stages
27:24that either have gone our way or we've executed well.
27:28You know, I think two teams done a lot of high-level stuff this year and brought me a lot
27:31of fast race cars.
27:32And it's long overdue, I think, for me and the team, for a result that lines up.
27:39with the performance.
27:41But probably the effort, it's where we need to be, points in every stage, I think.
27:46And, yeah, to be able to get a top five at a tough place like this, yeah, it was a
27:50lot of fun.
27:50It was a lot of challenges going into the week trying to figure out this new package.
27:53But guys brought me a fast freightliner forward.
27:56And, yeah, hopefully it's a sign of things to come for this group because really proud of the effort, you
28:01know, from Daytona to here.
28:03Something this two-team can build off of, guys.

28:35Folks, I think today you have seen one of the gutsiest performances in the history of the NASCAR Cup Series
28:43with Tyler Reddick.
28:44And what he overcame both from the car and personally with that cool suit not working, unbelievable.
28:51Oh, it was unbelievable, and it has been since we've started this season for the 23-11, but obviously the
28:5845.
28:58I want to go back to 23-11, Seth, and Bubba Wallace, extremely fast race car, got wiped out in
29:03that incident with the 11 car and Jones.
29:06But the package, Kevin, low down force, more horsepower, exactly what I was hoping for.
29:12Well, we put all these guys in a position to where they had to drive the heck out of this
29:15car, and it wasn't going to handle good regardless of what you had underneath you.
29:19But in the end, Tyler Reddick had the fastest car, gutted it out, and won the race.
29:24And a lot of great stories.
