02:53Still seem to give us some proper drivers on the limit, some proper drivers on the edge and some proper
02:59mistakes being made.
03:00Yeah, there's a surplus of power over grip in quite a lot of areas on the track and we've definitely
03:06smoothed out the power delivery with the latest changes.
03:09There'll be more to come as well.
03:11But, wow, they don't have to take off out of a corner and that's in the dry.
03:15A lot of drivers, if it is wet on Sunday, if it is wet and it's forecast, we are going
03:21to see some chaos.
03:22And I'll be a lot happier to be in the commentary box than pressing the throttle because they've got so
03:28much instant power and torque with the battery and the engine, if you like, as well.
03:34But, anyway, that's irrelevant because right now it's bone dry, it's hot and it's sprint quality.
03:40Charles Leclerc will be hoping it isn't wet tomorrow as well.
03:43If you remember back to the sprint race last year, he didn't even make it to the grid.
03:47It hosed it down just before the start and he crashed on his lap to the grid.
03:52He was the fastest driver in practice earlier today.
03:56Second time this season.
03:57And he's been fastest in the FP1 session.
03:59Right.
04:00We're ready for sprint qualifying.
04:02We've got green lights.
04:03Ted Kravitz, let's get going.
04:04It's about time, isn't it, Crofty?
04:06Let's be honest.
04:07Four and a half weeks since we left Suzuka, Japan, it's about time.
04:10And all these racing drivers, they've been doing the strangest things in the break, haven't they?
04:13Going to music festivals with Valtteri Bottas, bumping into Daniel Ricciardo at the same music festival of your Valtteri Bottas.
04:20Lewis Hamilton was there with a young friend.
04:22Don't know if you saw.
04:23Went to see Justin Bieber.
04:24They did, he did, with a friend called Kim.
04:27Or even going to watch some sport called football, if you're Pierre Gasly.
04:31PSG, they did quite well.
04:33Anyway, this is what you really need to do.
04:35This is what they're here for.
04:36It's qualifying.
04:37And thanks to the rule tweaks, they're able to go more flat out than they have been in the first
04:42three races.
04:43And already we've got a bit of a standoff in the pit lane.
04:46Lots of engineers on pit walls seeing who's going to go out first.
04:49The track has been very dirty.
04:52It's been very dusty.
04:52So track improvement is going to be key.
04:55And that's why I think we've got a green light, Crofty.
04:58But I'm not seeing anybody out.
04:59They're all waiting for the first person to go out and clean the track up a bit.
05:03And here comes Oscar Piastri.
05:04Cue the stampede.
05:0612 minutes of this sprint qualifying session.
05:08The first part.
05:09All on the medium tyres.
05:10Track temperature, Martin.
05:11Nearly 54 degrees.
05:13I wonder if there's only a couple of laps in it.
05:15And that's why they're waiting a bit.
05:17Yeah, it could well be.
05:18And they've all got the same idea.
05:19It was Lando who was just pulling out of the pits.
05:21But both McLarens will be on the track.
05:24There they are.
05:25Line astern.
05:25And it always seems silly, doesn't it?
05:2922 cars.
05:31And traffic's an issue.
05:32So let's all go out at the same time.
05:34Because they've all got the same sort of knowledge, experience, algorithms, what have you.
05:39And also, they're a little bit hair-trigger as well, aren't they?
05:42One goes out and let's all get on the racetrack.
05:45So they'll sit down there.
05:48They can't tick over for quite a long time.
05:50And drivers will trundle out of the pits when they feel like it.
05:55As long as they're not blocking too many others.
05:57So just to remind you, in SPQ1, Sprint Qualifying 1, you must use a new set of medium compound yellow
06:07marked tyres.
06:08The same for Sprint Qualifying 2.
06:10A new set and a brand new set of the red marked soft tyres for Sprint Qualifying 3.
06:16So that's what we're going to see.
06:17And that's why you can't afford mistakes.
06:21That is very true, has Oli Behrmann in the hat.
06:24The highest driver in the championship outside of the three big teams.
06:29Of Ferrari and of McLaren and of the championship leaders, Mercedes.
06:34Seventh place.
06:35It's been a brilliant start to the season for him.
06:36Even despite the big crash, the 50G impact crash that he had in the Suzuka during that race.
06:43Here's Kimi Antonelli trying to get out of the garage.
06:46But George decided he was going to go first.
06:50All the little psychological moments here between the two current championship contenders.
06:56Yeah.
06:58I think George is just of the view, right, I'm in a great position.
07:04I'm in the car that could win me a championship.
07:06I'm focused on that.
07:07My teammate is very good.
07:09He's going to push me all the way.
07:10But I'm happy and comfortable.
07:12That's from the outside.
07:13Quite how happy and comfortable he is on the inside.
07:15I'm not sure.
07:16Well, yeah, you know, Kimi had made some mistakes last year as a teenage rookie.
07:22But his pace in the final stint of the Japanese Grand Prix was enlightening, to say the least.
07:29Would have caught everybody's attention, not least George Russell's.
07:32It must be said, of course, that without the safety car, George would probably have won the Japanese Grand Prix.
07:37If not, Oscar Piastri would have.
07:38It certainly wasn't going to be Kimi Antonelli.
07:41The safety car played into his hands very nicely.
07:44So we have to remember there are many factors to this.
07:47Yes.
07:47He might have been the fastest man on the track in and around that safety car.
07:50But even he admitted afterwards that it came at the right moment for him.
07:54It's not harmed Lando Norris, the safety car here over the years.
07:57Of course, the maiden win that he got here in 2024.
08:01I think it was McLaren's second win in only 11 seasons.
08:04They've had 20 wins since then.
08:06And he's setting off then on his first flying lap of this track.
08:10So, Martin, take us through from Turn 4 onwards.
08:13Yeah, it gets really busy.
08:14Four, five, six, and seven, and eight at the bottom of the racetrack.
08:20It's like a snake, isn't it?
08:21Just relentlessly come at you, these corners.
08:24And it's a clumsy little tightening apex there.
08:27You ride the kerb.
08:29Now it's flat out between the walls.
08:31As you head, it's effectively quite a long sort of mid-straight there.
08:36And you'll consume as much of your battery as you can get away with.
08:40Because now, in this little Mickey Mouse section, that's a place where you'll gain and lose a lot more time
08:47than in some of the...
08:48We've got somebody in trouble out on the racetrack as well.
08:52And a really tricky section.
08:54And a little hop, skip, and a jump over the chicane there.
08:58And it looks like Lance Stroll is stranded up against the wall in 16.
09:03Very easy to hit that.
09:04And then the long...
09:06And there is Lance Stroll then.
09:08So, unless he can get that running...
09:10And that is going to compromise Lando Norris.
09:13Has to lift for that one as well.
09:15The orange flashing lights are saying it's a safety light stranded car.
09:21And that has absolutely compromised Lando Norris.
09:25Did it compromise Oscar Piastri behind him?
09:28Not quite.
09:29I would imagine not.
09:31The clock's still running, Oscar Piastri.
09:32Actually, I've just seen them come through and he didn't look like he was going that fast.
09:36Worst possible time for Lando Norris to arrive on the scene there.
09:39Because he's already lifted.
09:41He's already backed off.
09:42And just as he gets to the corner, Lance Stroll's got going again.
09:45But that will mean another lap.
09:47But at least he's on the medium tyre.
09:48So, there should be more laps in it.
09:50But first chance kind of wasted through no fault of Lando Norris.
09:55You've just got to get into the top 16 in this session to get yourself going.
10:00Lewis Hamilton goes second fastest behind his teammate Charles Leclerc.
10:04SQ1 in China, by the way.
10:06Both Williams, both Aston Martins, both Cadillacs were knocked out.
10:09Let's see if it's the same this weekend.
10:10Well, once again, then, Lewis, about a third of a second shy of Charlie Leclerc in the other Ferrari.
10:15So, some work to do there.
10:17And Antonelli pops a really good lap time in.
10:20Yeah, only a couple of hundredths off Charles Leclerc.
10:23So, obviously, the muscle memory working well for him.
10:25And he was pretty rapid on the hard tyre a little bit earlier on.
10:29So, as I said earlier, didn't get the chance on the soft tyre.
10:32Here comes Max Verstappen.
10:34You'll notice, very briefly, the active aero activating on that red ball.
10:38Watch for that.
10:39And the Ferrari, it's that 180-degree flip, Macarena, flippy, flappy wing.
10:45The red balls go so high.
10:47That's got to be the biggest gap we've ever seen in a rear wing.
10:50Yeah, it looks bizarre when it's flipping around the other side as well, when you're out on the racetrack.
10:55So, what happened to George Russell?
10:58We didn't see anything as such.
10:59Did he get caught up in yellow flags?
11:01But that's an alarming lap time for him in terms of slower than he would ideally want it.
11:08He's 1.1 off his teammate Antonelli.
11:10So, somewhere around that lap, there was a drama for George Russell.
11:14This is car number 30, Liam Lawson.
11:18And that's a lock-up in the turn one.
11:20And Liam Lawson hasn't got a lap time on the ball because I think he dived straight back into the
11:24pit lane at the end of that lap.
11:26And this is Lance Stroll.
11:27Oh, and now a massive lock-up and why he found himself in the run-off area.
11:33Yeah, a front tyre like a 50 pence piece, if you know what a 50 pence piece looks like in
11:38the UK.
11:40And that's, I'd be surprised if he didn't go through to the canvas with that one because it's such a
11:44high speed and long lock-up.
11:47That rather looked like one of those mechanical problems under braking rather than driver error, to be honest, because it
11:54happened quite a long way back.
11:55Indeed, and the same with Liam Lawson because, you know, for your outside front, there's such cunning geometry on these
12:03cars now and unusual sort of setups that for your outside tyre to lock going into corners, not that usual.
12:12But, of course, for Lance Stroll, it was the inside tyre.
12:14Steve McLaren's a bit out of sync with the rest here because they're on a flying lap.
12:18Lando Norris with a 30.1, pretty decent for the first sector.
12:22His teammate, Oscar Piastri, also on a flying lap and only eight hundredths of a second outside a decent time
12:28that he needs, albeit slower, than Lando Norris.
12:32I haven't driven one of these things last year.
12:35I don't know how they see the curbs with accuracy.
12:38Look, look, that's the sort of view.
12:40The human eye smooths out some of those bumps, but that is exactly the letterbox that they're looking through at
12:47those kind of speeds.
12:49And Norris flying again, this looking very, very good for McLaren.
12:53It certainly is.
12:54They might be a bit out of sync, but they need to get these banker laps in as well after
12:58their first laps were compromised.
13:00So far, so good.
13:02Big breaking point now for Oscar Piastri to try and pick.
13:05Lando Norris is on his way to the line, and this should be the fastest time of the lot and
13:09is with a 1.28.7 by half a second from Charles Leclerc.
13:14Piastri's got his braking absolutely spot on too, and he makes his way now through turn 19, crosses the line
13:19and goes second fastest.
13:20Half a second down on his teammate, who he's always beaten in a sprint qualifying here in Miami.
13:27That's a big statement from Lando Norris.
13:30Lance Stroll out, no time set.
13:32Won't get through, of course, then to sprint qualifying too, but that's a huge statement for McLaren, their upgrades, and
13:42Lando Norris there.
13:44That's a really key moment in this season.
13:47Yes, Lance Stroll out, could be a mechanical issue, could be the 50 pence piece shaped tyre that he's got
13:54there as well, because you can't change your tyres.
13:56You get that one set for this qualifying session, of which there are now less than two minutes to go.
14:03And along with Lance Stroll, Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad in the racing bulls, Franco Colopinto, Fernando Alonso, his Aston
14:09Martin teammate, and Valtteri Bottas.
14:11They are the bottom six. Sergio Perez finds himself in 14th for a Cadillac team on home turf.
14:18Tarmac, if you would rather.
14:21And if he can stay in 14th and get through to Q2, that would be some achievements for the newest
14:26team on the grid.
14:27We'll keep an eye on that.
14:28I don't know who does racing bulls livery, but I really like it. I think it was even better in
14:33Japan, actually, the white one.
14:34Yes.
14:35I really like that one. You don't like this one, do you think it looks like a high-vis shirt
14:39or something?
14:39Yeah, that was one sweet I heard.
14:41But I do like, I do, for me, the ultimate livery was it and Senna in a day-glow-and
14:48-white McLaren, shall we say, with his bright yellow crash helmet.
14:52It was the most iconic colour scheme ever.
14:54Yes, I do prefer the Japanese version of the special livery, but it doesn't matter how it looks, it needs
15:01to be fast.
15:02And for Lindblad and Lawson, it needs to be faster as Colopinto goes up, but still in that bottom six.
15:09And there are less than a minute to go for him and everyone else out there.
15:14Talking of it in Senna, of course, May Day 1994.
15:17This is the anniversary of losing the wonderful and great man.
15:22Yeah, we mentioned it earlier, in FP1, 32 years since that tragic weekend at Imola, where we remember Atten Senna
15:30and Roland Ratzenberger as well.
15:33Two fabulous drivers lost to us, sadly, at the Imola racetrack.
15:39Arvid Lindblad down to the hairpin, the young rookie, the latest young rookie to enter into Formula One.
15:46He's made qualifying pretty special for him so far this season.
15:50Goes 12th fastest could be enough to get him through into the next part of sprint qualifying, but it might
15:56be touch and go.
15:57Esteban Ocon moves up only in the 17th.
15:59He could find himself out.
16:01Sergio Perez is back in the garage.
16:03His qualifying's over.
16:04Oli Behrman goes 10th fastest.
16:07That's good enough for him.
16:08Perez now is usurped by Nico Hülkenberg.
16:11George Russell crosses the line only in sixth place.
16:14Still miles off lap time-wise for George Russell.
16:17Look at that, 9 tenths off the fastest.
16:20Isaac Hadja goes ninth fastest.
16:23Valtteri Bottas is on the personal best lap.
16:25Alex Albon's on the personal best.
16:26Nico Hülkenberg goes into ninth place.
16:30So Valtteri Bottas should be the next to cross the line.
16:32Comes over the line now, 20th.
16:34And he's out too for Cadillac.
16:36Ahead, though, of Alonso, who's on a lap.
16:38And Lance Stroll, who is definitely out.
16:40We're on board now with Gabriel Bortoletto.
16:43Pick your braking spot at the end of the fastest part of the track.
16:47And hope that you don't go too deep.
16:48But it was just a bit unstable under braking.
16:51Yeah, he was wrestling that one, wasn't he?
16:52And, well, if Lando Norris' time was a statement,
16:57so is Charles Leclerc right up there behind him.
16:59So, at the moment, very much advantage McLaren and Ferrari.
17:03Let's see as Alex Albon goes over the line and doesn't make it through.
17:07No, he does make it through at the expense of Liam Lawson.
17:11It was Albon or Lawson who were the two that were scrapping away there.
17:16And, well, sadly for Liam Lawson, he is just the wrong end of a better lap.
17:22From Alex Albon there, if both Williams went out in SQ1 in China,
17:28both Williams are through to SQ2 this weekend.
17:31Lance Stroll never sadly got going for him.
17:34Fernando Alonso also out.
17:35Aston Martin, two slowest cars again here in Miami.
17:40Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez also out.
17:43Riding on board here with Esteban Ocon into turn one.
17:46That is a major lockup.
17:48Both.
17:48And the entire front axle locked up there.
17:52Oh, dear.
17:52Yeah, and we've seen a lot of problems at that corner in practice carrying on into this qualifying session.
17:58It's tough for the drivers because obviously a lot of the slowing down is done by the electric motor.
18:03So, you don't get a completely linear sort of braking effect.
18:09But, yeah, the Aston Martin continue to be miles off the pace.
18:15Yeah, they've not progressed from the first phase of qualifying in any format this season.
18:18Both of their cars out.
18:19Perez and Bottas out.
18:20Excuse me, Ocon with that lockup out.
18:24And Lawson just pipped by Alex Albon at the end.
18:27Joining the six, putting their feet up early.
19:07And encouraging signs for the Formula 1 for USD.
19:09A two-tension, Norton.
19:11Norton's been in the points of our career.
19:56I can't break for any of the corners.
19:59I'm breaking so early.
20:01Just send me in the queue next time.
20:51Welcome back to Miami.
20:53Second part of sprint qualifying coming up.
20:5530 degrees here as we edge towards 5 o'clock in the afternoon.
20:59Track temperature 54 degrees.
21:01The hot time in SQ1 coming from Lando Norris.
21:04Zach Brown's on the pit wall at McLaren.
21:06Their CEO.
21:07That was a pretty impressive time from Lando.
21:10Although he had to do it on his second attempt.
21:12No fault of his because of those yellow flags.
21:14Yeah, Lando's been very strong since the first lap so far today.
21:18So, as you know, we've got to hit the reset button now and do it again.
21:22And, yeah, good to see McLaren's at the top.
21:24But let's see.
21:26Q2 here to come.
21:28Ferraris are right with you there.
21:30Zach, were you sandbagging this morning?
21:31Because that looked incredibly fast.
21:36Yeah, Lando got blocked on his good lap earlier this morning.
21:40But, I mean, there's nothing between us and the Ferrari.
21:42And I suspect Mercedes has yet more to come.
21:46So, I think this could be quite exciting.
21:47It looks like things hopefully will close up a little bit.
21:49You brought a big upgrade this weekend.
21:51Ferrari brought a big upgrade.
21:53Red Bull have brought a big upgrade.
21:54Is this the chance for the three teams, and you particularly, as we're talking to you,
21:59to make gains on Mercedes who are waiting until Montreal for their next big upgrade?
22:04Hope so.
22:04It's just one race.
22:06We all have more stuff coming.
22:07But, yeah, I mean, what Ferrari's put on their car is impressive.
22:11And let's see what Mercedes has coming.
22:15But, yeah, if we all can tighten up here a little bit,
22:18continue to put on a good show for the fans.
22:20Has Oscar Piestri got a particular problem, or just a little bit of fine here and there?
22:25Just a little bit of fine here and there.
22:26He's not been particularly happy with any lap that he's kind of done yet.
22:30So, he tends to find it when it counts.
22:33So, I think he's just got a little bit more left in him.
22:35Thanks ever so much indeed, Zach.
22:37The helicopter's coming in, maybe to take some away from the track a bit earlier.
22:41Best way to get downtown, I'm sure.
22:43And, well, probably quicker than trying to clear this traffic jam in the pit lane.
22:47And Liam Lawson particularly unhappy with the way he was sent out in SQ1.
22:52And the team, he thinks, didn't find the right gap for him.
22:57Yeah, I bet it's a bit of a lottery, isn't it?
22:59You can have the best plan in the world and, you know,
23:02take your tyre blankets off and find ten cars have popped out of the pit lane in front of you.
23:07So, I don't know.
23:10They're not magicians on the pit wall.
23:13They can't actually...
23:14You know, you're trying to control your car, but you can't control the other 20.
23:18Well, you can control maybe one of the others, but not all 20 of the rest.
23:24A bit frustrating for the two Alpines,
23:26who are right at the exit ends of the pit lane, wanting to get out.
23:30Pierre Gasly has nudged his way into the queue.
23:33And, finally, Franco Colopinto, I think, can get in just behind Lewis Hamilton.
23:37They both look quite good, didn't they?
23:38Gasly was right up there in SQ1.
23:42It's amazing what a Mercedes engine will do for a team.
23:45And I know the aero's good as well,
23:46but they've got a bit more horsepower to play with this year
23:49in comparison to last year,
23:52switching from the Renault engine now to a Mercedes engine.
23:56Ted, down to you.
23:57Thank you, Crofty.
23:58The other thing with Alpine is that they've made some upgrades
24:01on the front of their car particularly,
24:03which looks to have eliminated some of the high-speed understeer
24:06that they had in the first three races.
24:08So, good upgrades on the Alpine.
24:11Just a reason, maybe, if there is one,
24:13as to why we're seeing the Mercedes only in 5th and 6th,
24:17and then half a second off the pace if you're Kimi Antonelli,
24:20and almost a whole second off the pace if you're George Russell.
24:24I did speak to the deputy team principal, Bradley Lord,
24:26just before this session.
24:27I said, look, have any of these tweaks to the regulations
24:30had a negative effect on you,
24:32allowed everybody else to catch up,
24:34given that you made the best effort under the new rules in the first place?
24:38He said, no, if we have lost anything,
24:40it's about a few thousandths of a second, nothing more.
24:44We're pretty cool with the changes,
24:46and it just looks like everyone has caught up on pure pace.
24:50But Mercedes have some upgrades for the next few races.
24:52Not here.
24:52Thank you very much, Ted.
24:54Antonelli sets off on his way.
24:55Just to comment, Martin, on that Verstappen-Gasley thing there.
24:58Great judgment by Max Verstappen that there was a gap to go through.
25:02Yeah, I mean, not a prayer on a New York or London taxi driver,
25:06to be honest.
25:06They'd be much more brutal than that.
25:08But it was tight, wasn't it?
25:10Yeah.
25:11And that track position is key.
25:14But these are pretty big cars.
25:16Yeah, it's not that difficult to run over somebody else's front wing.
25:20A 30.2 for Kimi Antonelli.
25:22That's a tenth down on the best time he had in the first sector in SQ1.
25:27Ted, down to you.
25:28Something strange has happened,
25:29and that Liam Lawson has gone from the way bridge
25:31and ran back into his garage like he thinks he's in this session again.
25:35Is that because...
25:37Well, Oli Behrman hasn't gone out yet in this session.
25:40Has he had a lap deleted?
25:41And neither has Arvid Lindblad.
25:44I haven't seen anything yet to suggest that those two won't be going out.
25:47It might be that he's forgotten some piece of equipment he needed for the way bridge,
25:51but he was going back in like he thinks he's in this session.
25:54I'll keep up to it.
25:55Sorry, back to you.
25:56I do.
25:56I've not seen anything in terms of lap deleted.
25:59The timing screen would have updated anyway,
26:01but Behrman hasn't gone out or Lindblad as yet.
26:05Antonelli continues on his way.
26:06George Russell, we've got a camera on too.
26:09You can follow both of these drivers on board whenever you want.
26:11You need the Sky Sports login and the Sky Sports app,
26:13or if you're watching on SkyQ, Skystream, Skyglass,
26:17or now interactive button on your remote control,
26:19a 129.2.
26:21He's only a tenth faster than Antonelli managed in SQ1.
26:24Yeah, Russell, though,
26:24that's the first time we've seen a solid lap time from him at 28.9.
26:28He just found three quarters of a second,
26:30and he needed to, so that's good news for George Russell.
26:32He's getting his crash helmet on, Liam Lawson.
26:34He's got his hands device on too,
26:35and I wonder if he is going out.
26:38Let us see.
26:40We're on board with Gabriel Bortoletto,
26:42with Max Verstappen improving in the middle sector,
26:44and his mate Gabriel Bortoletto goes ahead
26:47of his teammate, Nico Hülkenberg.
26:50There is an investigation,
26:52FIA stewards investigation,
26:53for Alonso Antonelli, Sainz.
26:56Oh, that'd be...
26:58That'd be going slower out on track, won't it?
27:01Yeah, it's...
27:02Which often comes up,
27:04and then nothing happens as a result of it.
27:06There's mitigating circumstances.
27:08Verstappen goes second fastest
27:10behind George Russell.
27:12A couple of tenths between them.
27:14Charles Leclerc, fastest in the first sector,
27:16is going pretty well in the middle sector too,
27:19and Pierre Gasly had just gone into P5
27:22ahead of Gabriel Bortoletto,
27:23as Leclerc goes fastest
27:25and is nearly half a second quicker
27:27than George Russell,
27:29and the Ferrari is flying.
27:32Lewis Hamilton makes it a Ferrari 1-2,
27:34separated by just under four tenths,
27:37but the Scuderia prancing along
27:39rather nicely at the moment.
27:40But as Colopinto goes sixth fastest,
27:42here comes Oscar Piastri
27:44and Lando Norris,
27:46who are both looking pretty decent.
27:48A superb middle sector for Oscar Piastri.
27:51It has to be said.
27:52Sainz crosses the line,
27:53slowest lap time we've had so far.
27:55Piastri goes second fastest,
27:57just mere hundreds behind Charles Leclerc.
28:01Game on.
28:03Absolutely.
28:04Yeah, I mean,
28:05Ferrari and McLaren have definitely made a step forward,
28:07and they're very equal as well.
28:09They're right in there with Mercedes,
28:11but Norris, they're nine tenths adrift,
28:13and that's an alarming time.
28:15That's not fast enough.
28:16He'll have to do something else.
28:17Yeah, that was all in the middle sector as well
28:19for Lando Norris,
28:21where he lost that time
28:22to his team mate,
28:24as his dad Adam watches on
28:26from the back of that McLaren garage.
28:28And still,
28:29Behrman and Lindblad haven't gone out.
28:33With just over four minutes remaining,
28:35is this where Lando Norris lost
28:36all of that lap time
28:38in the middle sector
28:39that I was talking about?
28:41A little bit tail-endy, wasn't it?
28:42Yeah.
28:44Oh, he's got no rear grip,
28:45and that hop and skip and a jump
28:47of a chicane I told you about.
28:49He missed the skip out in the middle.
28:52But it did put in an impressive slide
28:54to at least keep the car
28:55within the white lines
28:57and not exceed track limits.
28:59Right.
29:00Bottom six at the moment.
29:01Behrman and Lindblad haven't set a time.
29:04Sainz and Albon,
29:05Hülkenberg and Bortoleto.
29:07So two Audis,
29:08two Williams,
29:09a Haas,
29:10and a racing Bulls
29:12who, Mike,
29:13with Behrman and Lindblad,
29:16just decided to do one run here
29:18because they've already got
29:19some runs in on the medium tyre.
29:21Save those fresh tyres for one run
29:23and hope there's no yellow flags.
29:25That was Anthony trying to slow himself down,
29:27and it seemed a bit of a struggle for him
29:28as we head down to Ted.
29:29Well, Lindblad's gone out.
29:31So if it is an investigation
29:32as for a deleted,
29:34possible deleted time
29:35because of exceeding track limits,
29:37Crofty,
29:37then it looks like it's Olly Behrman.
29:40I can't see.
29:41I can just see down to Haas,
29:43but I can't.
29:44Has a car going out?
29:45Has Behrman gone out?
29:46No, Behrman hasn't.
29:47Lindblad has.
29:48Lindblad has gone out,
29:49but Behrman is out now, I believe.
29:52No?
29:53Behrman's coming down the pit lane now.
29:54Yeah, he is.
29:55Okay.
29:55So that seems to have been resolved.
29:57Yeah.
29:57And Lawson can take that helmet back off again.
29:59I think they were basically waiting
30:01to just do one lap
30:02in this second part of qualifying
30:03on fresh tyres
30:04and hope that that extra grip
30:08will get them a chance
30:09to get through
30:10into the top ten
30:11small margins
30:12and all of that.
30:15Liam Lawson
30:16having to have a little run
30:17this time of the afternoon.
30:19You think,
30:20well, it's not a bad time
30:20to go for a run,
30:21but it is sweltering hot out there.
30:24He's a fit young man, I'm sure.
30:25But there's a swimming pool
30:27wherever you look
30:28at the track round here
30:29waiting for him.
30:29Should he fancy a dip?
30:31And Norris is probably still
30:32just about safe,
30:34isn't he,
30:34on a 29.3
30:36for a top ten.
30:37But it's nervy.
30:39Very nervy indeed.
30:40Yeah.
30:41Can you see
30:44the others improving
30:46by kind of half a second,
30:47six tenths of a second?
30:49It's possible.
30:51It depends on how much fuel
30:52they were carrying,
30:53whether they were fuel
30:54for one or two laps
30:55in that first part.
30:56But yeah,
30:57he did say,
30:57he lost a chunk of time.
30:59That is for sure.
31:01So what Lander
31:01could probably do
31:02is have a slow lap,
31:04fill the battery up
31:05and go again.
31:07He's still sat in his car,
31:09is Liam Lawson.
31:10Just in case.
31:12I mean,
31:13you might as well be ready,
31:14but I think the time
31:15has gone past now
31:16for actually getting out
31:17and getting a lap in
31:19if you're not.
31:20There's obviously
31:21something going on
31:22up at the stewards' office,
31:23isn't there?
31:23In race control.
31:24And the team will be
31:27pushing something through.
31:29But nothing has been
31:30displayed on our
31:31timing screen,
31:32but he's not going to
31:33come out and get to the line
31:34before the chequered flag.
31:36So let's concentrate
31:37on those that are out there.
31:38Oh, actually,
31:39first one that is
31:40Oscar Piastri.
31:41They think he's safe.
31:42No point coming out anymore.
31:44No one's going to beat
31:44a 128.5
31:45and knock him out
31:47of qualifying
31:47and it's soft tyres next
31:48so there's no point
31:49doing another lap.
31:50Think McLaren.
31:51Charles Leclerc,
31:52though,
31:52the fastest man on track,
31:53is out there
31:54and potentially
31:55going for another lap.
31:56And Norris is backed off
31:57on this lap as well.
31:59So on the current one,
32:01let's see if he starts
32:02another flying lap.
32:04He's got plenty of time
32:04to do that.
32:06I think he looks like
32:07he's just making himself
32:08a bit of space.
32:08He's got Portoletto
32:09coming up behind him.
32:10but will Norris then
32:12go for another lap?
32:14Kimi Antonelli
32:15has just started
32:16a flying lap.
32:17Interesting to focus
32:19on that a little bit.
32:20Max Verstappen
32:21will be going
32:22for a flying lap soon.
32:23But Antonelli,
32:24it seemed a bit
32:25of a struggle
32:26for him
32:27on his first lap
32:29here to get P6.
32:30Norris is going again.
32:31Right.
32:33Isaac Hadjar
32:34has just had
32:35a lap time
32:35to lead to the
32:36130.0
32:38but that wasn't
32:39his best time
32:40so far.
32:42Right.
32:42There's your track dominance.
32:44Portoletto and Hulkenberg.
32:45They're so closely matched
32:45in qualifying.
32:46In terms of Grand Prix's
32:47it's 14-13
32:49as teammates
32:49in Portoletto's favour.
32:51Here is the Brazilian then
32:52leaning on that
32:54long left-hander
32:56and hoping the car sticks
32:57which it does
32:58rather nicely.
33:00Charles Leclerc
33:00has just
33:01crossed the line.
33:03First car
33:04to take the chequered flag.
33:06128.3
33:07for Charles Leclerc
33:07was a little bit faster
33:10than his previous best
33:11so there is more
33:12to come
33:13from that Ferrari
33:14it seems.
33:16Yeah, it looks like
33:16a big fight
33:17doesn't it
33:17at the front
33:17and we'll see
33:18what Mercedes can do
33:19if they can find
33:20a bit of speed.
33:20Of course we go on
33:21to a different
33:23compound of tyre
33:24for SQ3.
33:25That might
33:27throw a double six
33:28here and there
33:28for a few drivers.
33:29Who's improving
33:30in the bottom six?
33:31Carlos Sainz
33:32in the middle sector.
33:32Oli Behrman
33:33is still down
33:35and has taken
33:36the chequered flag.
33:37Sainz has now
33:37taken the chequered flag.
33:39They're both out.
33:39Couldn't improve enough.
33:41Arvid Lindblad
33:41has set off
33:42on another lap
33:43but it's not a fast lap
33:44so he's too
33:45is out of qualifying.
33:46Alex Albon
33:47I think is out as well
33:48because he did a 42.7
33:49in this first sector
33:50so that's not going
33:51to improve him much.
33:52Gabriel Portoleto
33:53hasn't been improving
33:54on his lap times either
33:56as he crosses the line
33:57and stays in 11th place.
34:00So there's your bottom six
34:02decided.
34:02Anyone else out
34:03on the track
34:04doesn't really matter
34:04you're through
34:05to the final part
34:06of qualifying
34:07and this is George Russell
34:08who like Nico Hülkenberg
34:10and Gabriel Portoleto
34:11haven't put any improvement
34:12in in any sector
34:14on that second lap.
34:15Kimi Antonelli did
34:16but stays P6
34:18George Russell
34:19stays P4.
34:20Yeah Russell
34:21half second slow
34:21but of course
34:22the tyres
34:22have had a punishment
34:24already
34:25in giving up
34:26the best of their grip.
34:28So that is that
34:30for a sprint
34:31qualifying two
34:33and for Arvid Limblad
34:35his first experience
34:36of a sprint
34:37here in Miami
34:38it was the slowest time
34:39in that second part
34:40of qualifying
34:41he's coming into
34:42the pit lane now
34:43the two Williams
34:44of Sainz and Albon
34:45managed to get out
34:46of the first part
34:47and that was
34:48that was Q2
34:50just for them
34:51or SQ2
34:51just for them
34:52Oli Baerman
34:53will start 13th
34:54behind Nico Hülkenberg
34:55behind Gabriel Portoleto
34:56and out in front
34:58it's Charles Leclerc
34:59who heads the way
35:00for Ferrari
35:01he had a second lap
35:03extended his advantage
35:05over Oscar Piastri
35:06who didn't do a second lap
35:07but this could be
35:07nip and tuck
35:08with pole to come next
35:09to come next
35:39and see you soon
35:39of матem
35:51Yeah, one, three steps behind where we should be all, every lap, and I'm not happy with
35:57this, cannot be, but after one hour and a half of practice we're still in this state.
37:33Welcome back to Miami.
37:35Carlos Sainz out and not happy.
37:38Yeah, one, three steps behind where we should be all, every lap, and I'm not happy with
37:43this, cannot be, but after one hour and a half of practice we're still in this state.
37:53Procedure needs looking at, I think, in the mind of Carlos Sainz.
37:56Yeah, that's a powerful statement, and Carlos will know that that will be transmitted as
38:01well.
38:02Zach Brown on the McLaren pit wall.
38:04Time to go for pole.
38:06The Grand Prix's never been won from pole here.
38:08The sprint race has, Zach.
38:10Are your cars up for this today?
38:11Are they capable of it?
38:13It appears so.
38:16Charles definitely seems to be extremely, extremely quick.
38:20But, yeah, I think both our cars have a shot here.
38:24I know it's not really your department, Zach, but do they give it a little tickle of front
38:28wing then when we go under the soft tires now?
38:30Is there much of a change?
38:31I didn't hear any change, but that may have been pre-planned, as you say, when we change
38:37compounds.
38:39Sometimes they do give the front wing a little tickle, as you say.
38:43Yeah, and in terms of soft tire runs from earlier, Zach, what were the drivers and engineers
38:47saying about how the soft tire interacts in these temperatures as opposed to the medium?
38:53I think it's definitely good for a lap.
38:55It wouldn't be a very good race tire, but I think for a lap it's okay.
39:00Two, I'm not so sure.
39:02We shall see.
39:03Thanks a lot, Zach, and best of luck for this qualifying session.
39:08Mercedes have been one and two in every qualifying session this season, sprint or GP.
39:13This is not looking like that trend is going to carry on tonight.
39:17It's going to be the story of this season as they find chunks of time.
39:21I think I described it back in Melbourne as a leapfrog year, and we're seeing that this
39:26weekend in terms of teams finding a chunk of time, and then Mercedes will come back at
39:33them in Canada.
39:34But then Ferrari and McLaren have got some upgrades there as well.
39:38But we are definitely, you know, that Mercedes domination that we saw in the first three
39:43races could well be over.
39:45Just a word and a bit of a shout-out here to Franco Colopinto, who was about four-tenths
39:51ahead of his teammates, Pierre Gasly, in that second part of sprint qualifying, and has
39:56got himself into the top ten.
39:58Green light's on, by the way.
39:58We can get going if the teams are ready to come out.
40:01That's a tremendous effort, I think, from Colopinto.
40:04Yeah.
40:04It is.
40:06It's a very good effort.
40:07And, yeah, both cars in there.
40:11And Isaac Hadja as well getting the second red bull right in there, too.
40:16But they flattered to deceive a little bit this morning, because it looked like Verstappen
40:22was riding the hunt, didn't it, after the end of the 90-minute session.
40:25But he's not, at this time, looked like he's got a front-row pace in him.
40:31Let's see what the soft tyres do.
40:32Right, Ted Kravitz, as potentially expected here, we've got a green light.
40:38No one's coming out in a hurry, because you get the feeling there's only one lap in these
40:42soft tyres when they're going for pole.
40:44All the more opportunity for the big numbers of Argentine fans, Crofty, in the grandstand
40:49to keep on cheering Franco Colopinto.
40:52There is a large Argentine contingency here.
40:55We're only eight hours on a quick plane between here and Buenos Aires.
40:59And so, yeah, they were all shouting, ole, ole, ole, Franco, Franco, when he put it, P8 in that session.
41:06So well done to him.
41:07Ted, you were in Buenos Aires for the show car run, weren't you?
41:10Oh, was I?
41:10Yeah, you've mentioned it a couple of times, you lucky man.
41:14Noisy, we're going to see it on Sunday in our build-up.
41:17But what was the atmosphere like?
41:19Honestly, Crofty, don't give the game away.
41:21It'll be a nice surprise for everybody watching on Sunday.
41:23Great feature we've got at home with Franco Colopinto.
41:25Yeah, there was great support down there.
41:27About 350,000, 400,000 people came to the streets to see him.
41:30So, yeah, if he shows the improvement he's showing so far, then he's got a long career ahead of him
41:37in Formula 1.
41:38Just another note I wanted to do on Audi and the likes of Oli Behrman and Esteban Ocon.
41:43And over the break, have we seen Haas drop back a bit?
41:47That's a question I'll be following over the weekend.
41:50Esteban Ocon out in Q1, spring qualifying one.
41:53I know we've seen that before.
41:54Had a big lock-up, didn't he?
41:55Yeah, but nothing improvement really from Oli Behrman.
42:00Only 13th and not able to get in the top 10.
42:03Maybe as Alpine go ahead, maybe Haas have fallen back again.
42:07By the way, we can clear up the Liam Lawson mystery.
42:10Not a book by Agatha Christie.
42:11They were waiting to see if an investigation about Alex Albon and a track limits infringement would be upheld.
42:17An appeal would be upheld by the stewards.
42:19It was not.
42:20Albon was already on track.
42:21And so that's why Lawson was getting ready, just in case.
42:24Yes, we can see it now.
42:26You mentioned it, Ted, and as we haven't got any action on track, let's have a little look at it
42:30now.
42:31Here's Alex Albon-Martin.
42:35He got close.
42:38Yeah, you can never tell on the onboard camera, can you?
42:40But that, yeah, clearly not close enough when the stewards had a look at it.
42:45The front tyre did look like it had crossed the line there, but we don't know what the rear right
42:49was doing.
42:51And as always, those zones, kerb, line, racetrack, they sort of merge with tyre rubber, don't they, in certain places?
42:57What the stewards do have at their disposal is a lot more static cameras than we have at our disposal,
43:04and they would have used those to make that determination.
43:07Right, time to get those tyre blankets off.
43:09Come on, the tyres must be warming up now.
43:12Let's get out there, shall we?
43:13And see, with under five minutes to go, this could be a one-lap shootout.
43:18It is a one-lap shootout.
43:20Between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris at McLaren, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli
43:27at Mercedes,
43:28Max Verstappen and Isaac Hadjar at Red Bull, and Franco Colopinto and Pierre Gasly at Alpine.
43:35Five teams, only one can be on pole.
43:38So far, so good for Charles Leclerc.
43:40It's a wonderful feeling sitting in the cockpit when the tyre blankets come off, and there's a brand new set
43:46of tyres underneath them.
43:48Happy days.
43:49You're going to get some free grip and look a bit of a hero, maybe.
43:53For Lewis Hamilton, two sprint poles, the last one being China in 2025.
43:58For Charles Leclerc, only one previous career sprint pole came in Azerbaijan, there's Charles Leclerc, in 2023.
44:06And for Franco Colopinto, by the way, a first SQ3 appearance since Austin, 2024.
44:12Have me searching for the history books, his appearance in the top ten here.
44:17There's only ten cars going to be on track.
44:19No one should be getting in anyone's way unless they've had a lock-up.
44:23It's not a case of cars on out-lap and others on flying laps.
44:27This could be spicy.
44:29Yeah, providing they don't make a mistake, of course, and cause yellow flags or double-wave yellows, at which point
44:34all laps are negated at that point.
44:38But this is the really tricky little section.
44:41You've got to commit to it.
44:42But if you get it wrong, the walls are very close by.
44:46And George Russell then heading down the back straight, weaving a little bit of, trying to put some lateral energy
44:54into the tyres.
44:55He'll be watching that on his dashboard to exactly where he's at with his temperatures, preparing everything.
45:02Like, as I've said before, they're all like heating engineers, basically, at this point.
45:06And some things have to stay cool and other things need to be just right and others hot.
45:12And off he goes then into what is quite a short pit straight and a big decision already then as
45:19to where is he going to break going into turn one.
45:22But you want to get all the downshifting done.
45:24Get off the brake pedal, pick the throttle up, and then weave through this next part, which is this endless
45:30series of corners.
45:32As one leads, the exit of one is the entry to the next one.
45:37And I've got to drive a four-wheel car through there.
45:40It looks tremendous.
45:41And then seven tightens into a clumsy little eight, ride the kerb through the exit and just pull the pin
45:49and go.
45:50And George Russell then showing fastest, but of course he's the first one with any pace through that first sector
45:56at the moment.
45:57Wings down and ready.
45:59They'll close as soon as he hits the brakes.
46:01And there they go.
46:03And Hamilton even faster in the first sector.
46:06By half a second, Lewis Hamilton faster than George Russell.
46:11Lando Norris next through and about another tenth of a second up on Lewis Hamilton.
46:17George Russell has really, I think, pace-wise through that first sector out of contention for a chance of pole
46:24here.
46:25As Charles Leclerc puts in the 29-6 as well to match Lando Norris.
46:29They're queuing up for pole here.
46:31But Mercedes, who've got the one-two on the grid at every single opportunity this year, don't seem to want
46:36to join the queue.
46:37No.
46:37And soft tyre, of course, as well.
46:39Well, so will they hang on for the entire lap?
46:42We can see the back end of the Mercedes there trying to get away from him.
46:47Short run to the line.
46:49And a 28-4-9-3 is the benchmark.
46:51So, 28-4 is an improvement.
46:55But is it an improvement enough?
46:56Because Lando Norris has put a brilliant middle sector in.
46:59Lewis Hamilton crosses the line behind George Russell.
47:03So he goes into P2.
47:05Now Lando Norris will be next to cross the line.
47:07Is it provisional pole for him?
47:08Yes, it is.
47:09First driver into the 127s in this session.
47:13Antonelli will be next to cross the line.
47:15And then comes Charles Leclerc.
47:17Antonelli crosses the line now to start his flying lap.
47:22Leclerc goes second fastest.
47:24Has lost time and has lost the chance of pole.
47:26McLaren are on pole with Lando Norris.
47:29And that is a bit of a turn-up for the books, given Charles Leclerc's pace so far this weekend.
47:33And there's not really another hot lap in these tyres.
47:36We're hearing that Lewis Hamilton had a big slide in Turn 17.
47:41That's the hairpin at the end of this back straight.
47:43So that costs Lewis Hamilton as Colopinto goes into currently P5 ahead of Pierre Gasly, his teammate.
47:51He is the lead of the Alpines.
47:53And they have been split by Isaac Hadjar, who goes into P6.
47:57Where's Max Verstappen going to put his Red Bull?
47:59Former pole sitter here for a sprint.
48:01It's blistering final sector.
48:04Half a second off the pace P3 for Max Verstappen.
48:07P3 is where this race and the sprint was won from last year by Lando Norris.
48:11He's on provisional pole.
48:13His teammate's Oscar Piastri, who's with him on the front row.
48:17And for the first time here in a Miami sprint, Lando Norris has out-qualified Oscar Piastri.
48:22But the man who was on pole last year was Kimi Antonelli.
48:26And he's decided to leave it until the final possible moment.
48:30And he's just set the fastest middle sector.
48:34So Kimi Antonelli might have a chance for back-to-back sprint poles.
48:38And that was sweet as through turn 17.
48:40Exactly where he needed the car.
48:42Drives for the line.
48:43Can he do it?
48:44Well, let's see.
48:45Check the flag is out.
48:46It's front row for Kimi Antonelli.
48:48So Mercedes stay on the front row at every single opportunity this season.
48:54But for the first time in 2026, it's a non-Mercedes-Works team that's grabbed pole.
49:00And it is Lando Norris who manages to get a pole position for the sprint.
49:05His fifth sprint pole.
49:08The man who won from third last year gets the opportunity to start from first 12 months later.
49:14He's been on it all day, hasn't he, Lando Norris?
49:17And once again, the correlation for McLaren of their upgrades with the wind tunnel,
49:22the digital wind tunnel, the CFD, and the stopwatch, the grip, the feel for the drivers,
49:28all seems to work out when they bring an upgrade to their cars.
49:31They've been doing that since two years at this race now, haven't they?
49:34They've been doing that at McLaren.
49:35And once again, their car is working nicely.
49:38So Charles Leclerc are only fourth fastest.
49:40And that is where his chance for pole position just fell away from him.
49:45Wasn't much, but he definitely lost a couple of tenths.
49:48Yeah, but when you're wrestling the car like that, you're not planting the throttle.
49:51Yeah, very true.
49:52And that is, it didn't look much, did it?
49:55But that's how close it is at the front.
49:57And that, you can't afford those little slides and moves.
50:00Lando Norris, P1 for the sprint here in Miami.
50:05This is exactly what McLaren wanted with that first big upgrade.
50:10There's handshaking, not the fist bumps from Zac Brown,
50:13because no points are handed out in qualifying.
50:16Just to let you know, the stewards are going to investigate Alex Albon
50:21for exceeding track limits in the first part of qualifying.
50:25Remember, Liam Lawson was waiting to see if a decision could be made
50:29and he could take the place of Alex Albon,
50:32but the stewards are now going to go back and have a look at it,
50:34which does seem to me, what's the phrase, Martin?
50:36A day late and a dollar short?
50:37That's the one.
50:38Yeah, that's taken a long time to have a look at that, hasn't it?
50:43Because in all seriousness, yeah, okay, Alex Albon,
50:45you could penalise him for, take that lap away,
50:49but that should have been done instantly
50:50so that a driver who should have been in the second part of qualifying
50:54could take part.
50:55It happens with this format that we've got.
50:57But it can happen, has happened, and will happen again
51:02where somebody's been unfairly treated.
51:04Or, of course, vice versa, where they get the rub of the green.
51:08Oscar Piastri, then, will start from the second row
51:12alongside Charles Leclerc, beaten in a sprint qualifying here
51:18by Lando Norris for the first time.
51:21And, well, Kimi Antonelli gave it absolutely everything
51:24with a very good middle sector, lost time in the first part of the lap.
51:28And the decision to send him out, I think, last of all,
51:31wasn't a bad one by Bono,
51:33because he did get the better at the track conditions.
51:35And once again, though, kept his head, didn't make mistakes.
51:41And Antonelli turning into the real deal, isn't he?
51:44Certainly is.
51:46Championship leader, and we'll start on the front row.
51:50Behind Piastri and Leclerc on row two, Verstappen and Russell.
51:54Well, we've seen incidents in the past when those two get together.
51:59For Max Verstappen, P5, six-tenths off the pace,
52:04kind of where Red Bull were before the little break.
52:08But I think Max are a bit happier with the performance of the car.
52:12I think so.
52:13But what they've done is move to where McLaren were.
52:16Yeah.
52:17And McLaren and Ferrari have moved on from that.
52:19Stand still, you fall behind.
52:21That's what they say in this game.
52:22Standing still, waiting for James Hinchcliffe, Lando Norris.
52:26And we are here with your sprint pole sitter, Lando Norris.
52:29Lando, you seem to like Miami a little bit.
52:31That was a pretty impressive run.
52:33Yeah, it was great.
52:36Perfect result for us.
52:37Nice way to reward the team.
52:40You know, we got a lot of new upgrades on the car,
52:42so it's nice to feel some grip again.
52:45And nice to reward the guys and the girls
52:46that have put a lot of work into this.
52:48So, no, I've always loved Miami, honestly,
52:51both on and off the track.
52:52So it's a good result for us.
52:55Of course, just the beginning of the weekend, you know,
52:57still a long way to go.
52:58But nice to tick it off by doing this.
53:00It's got to be nice to see that those upgrades really worked.
53:03I mean, we know you brought a lot to Miami,
53:05but the gap to Mercedes in those first few rounds was pretty big.
53:08Were you expecting to make this much gain on the Mercedes team?
53:13I mean, it's tough to know.
53:15Every track's different, right?
53:16So we've known that this track has always been good to us.
53:21But we knew that what we were bringing
53:22was going to hopefully do a good step, and it has.
53:24So it's nice that, yeah, our estimations are proved correct.
53:28And the team deserved that.
53:30They put a lot of work into all of these things, you know.
53:32But since the first lap today, I felt comfortable,
53:35and I was like, oh, I've got a bit of rear grip, and I felt good.
53:38So I've always felt good around here, and it's always good to do it.
53:41So good to start the weekend with the pole.
53:43Let's talk about the lap a little bit,
53:44because we heard a lot of drivers talking about tire temperatures.
53:46How difficult was it to kind of control them,
53:49get them prepped in the right way,
53:50and then keep the tires alive over the whole lap?
53:52It was pretty tough.
53:53I mean, my Q2 was pretty woeful.
53:56I was like one second off.
53:57So, you know, it didn't fill me with confidence into the final run,
54:01and I was debating whether we do one lap, two laps.
54:05Will pushed me and said,
54:06Lando, we're doing one lap, and it paid off, you know.
54:08So, no, it's been good work from the whole team.
54:11We got everything in a good window straightaway,
54:13so I'm very proud of them.
54:14But the lap was good.
54:15It was good, far from one corner, 16, onto the back straight.
54:19Completely missed it.
54:20Just, yeah, didn't want to get it today.
54:22So, difficult conditions also with the wind.
54:25The wind can play a big effect, you know.
54:27So, I'm just happy.
54:28I'm happy to be back here.
54:29It's been a little while, you know.
54:30So, just a perfect way for me to start the weekend, too.
54:34Well, you've had success here in the past.
54:35Just continuing.
54:35Best of luck tomorrow.
54:36Will do.
54:36Cheers, dude.
54:54Cheers, dude.
55:26Okay.
55:26Nice pole.
55:28Well done.
55:29Well done.
55:29Yeah, well done, mate.
55:31Good job.
55:31Nice to be back up here.
55:33Well done, team.
55:35Cut us night and day better, so.
55:37You deserve this.
55:38Nice to reward you straightaway with something.
55:40Thanks for the hard work.
55:42Good job.
55:43Let's keep it up.
55:44Love to hear it.
55:45Good luck, mate.
55:46Good luck, mate.
55:47Good luck, mate.
55:51Good luck, mate.
55:55Good luck, mate.
55:56Good luck, mate.
55:56Good luck, mate.
55:56Good luck, mate.
55:56Good luck, mate.
55:57Good luck, mate.
55:57Good luck, mate.
56:00Good luck, mate.
56:04Good luck, mate.
56:07Good luck, mate.
