02:34Such a young talent
02:37To have been sort of fast-tracked
02:38Into F1, really
02:40You know, and he had a few difficult times

02:44Bounced back well
02:45And the team have really supported him
02:47And rallied around
02:48But it was just nice
02:49To see him up there
02:52With Lewis and Kimi
02:53It was a wholesome
02:54Sort of full-circle moment
02:56So I was at home watching it
02:58And, yeah, it was lovely to see
03:00It wasn't a straightforward victory either
03:02It was a mature one
03:03And enough to silence any of his critics
03:06That say he wasn't ready to
03:07Step up to a big team like Mercedes
03:09Yeah, I think so
03:10And it does a few things
03:11First of all, it proves that
03:12Mercedes were right to put him in the car last year
03:14He built on that experience
03:16He's been struggling a little bit with his starts
03:18He got that right off the line
03:19He got the pole position when it mattered
03:21And, look, it's brilliant for us
03:23Because he's not going to let George run away with it
03:26He is going to fight for every point that he can
03:29And he wants to be in the thick of it
03:31Come midway through the season
03:33So evolving dynamics then
03:34Within the team, Karun
03:36How is that going to be managed?
03:37I think the second stint of the race
03:39Was particularly impressive for Kimi, wasn't he?
03:41Because actually in the early part of the race
03:42The Ferraris were putting the pressure on
03:44George, if anything, looked like the quicker of the Mercedes
03:47And, you know, we know George had that issue in qualifying
03:49So it was further back
03:50But when they went to the second stint
03:52He just methodically waited, waited
03:55Early on, the Ferraris were quicker
03:56And then he just edged away and opened up
03:58That six, seven second gap
04:00He had a little bit of a lock-up
04:01With a few laps to go
04:02But on the whole
04:04For me, that was the sign of maturity, right?
04:06Like he kept his calm
04:08Kept his cool
04:08And just built up a rhythm
04:10Which is what you see from the more experienced drivers
04:13And I think that's maybe the difference to last year and this year
04:16Is he was able to just keep his head together
04:20And build on it
04:21Which was very impressive to see
04:22And it means that George won't be taking anything for granted
04:24In terms of this championship
04:26I mean, I'm sure he won't be anyway

04:30But I suppose we've always said that George is the leader of that team
04:34So if it were to be a Mercedes winner to win the championship

05:15And even on the long run averages
05:16He was a couple of tenths up
05:17So he's carried that confidence
