00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office. Over the
00:04next few days it will become increasingly changeable, some unsettled
00:08weather moving through but for now high pressure is just about holding on
00:12particularly across England and Wales over the next 24 hours but a low
00:15pressure system will bring some wetter and windier weather through Monday
00:19across the north of the UK. So back to Sunday evening, wintry showers across
00:25much of Scotland this evening, these becoming more confined to northern parts
00:29of Scotland as we head into the early hours. A weak weather front will also give
00:32some cloud and patchy rain for a time across parts of England and Wales but
00:36overnight it will be dry with clear spells and with light winds once again we'll
00:40see some mist and fog patches forming and where skies remain clear it will be
00:45another cold night. Temperatures in towns and cities mid to low single figures in
00:49the countryside minus 1 minus 2 Celsius for some of us. So it will be a chilly and
00:53frosty start on Monday morning but a bright start, some sunny spells once the
00:58fog lifts particularly across England and Wales however Northern Ireland and
01:02Scotland the cloud will thicken here the next weather system moving in bringing
01:05outbreaks of rain the rain most persistent and heavy across parts of
01:09Scotland still falling as snow over these Scottish mountains though eastern
01:13Scotland down into the borders staying dry until later on in the afternoon a few
01:17splashes of rain also across Northern Ireland and Northern England. Best of the
01:22sunshine holding on across central southern parts of England and Wales and here
01:26temperatures lifting towards the mid teens 15 16 Celsius feeling cooler with the
01:31strength of the wind further north you are particularly Northwest Scotland gales
01:35here and maximum temperatures around 9 or 10 degrees. On Monday evening further
01:40spells of heavy rain push eastwards across Scotland some of this drifting
01:44further south into parts of Northern Ireland and Northern England heading
01:47overnight into Tuesday morning the rest of England and Wales generally dry but
01:52thickening cloud will stop temperatures from falling too low seven or eight
01:56degrees some colder air and brisk winds moving into Northwest Scotland some
02:00wintry showers starting to develop here. So wet start on Tuesday across Northern
02:05Ireland, Southern Scotland, Northern England the rain particularly heavy across
02:08parts of Cumbria and then later on into Northwest Wales as this weather system
02:13slowly pushes southwards. Best of the dry weather holding on across central and
02:17south eastern parts of England through the day but tending to cloud over here
02:21frequent showers for Northern Ireland and Scotland these turning increasingly
02:25wintry a flavour of things to come towards the middle of the week. Brisk winds for
02:30everybody particularly around the coasts they may just take the edge off the
02:34temperatures but still in the southeast reaching around 16 degrees. The outlook for
02:39the next few days is for it to turn colder Wednesday, Thursday, Friday temperatures
02:45back down in the north to single figures frequent showers on Wednesday these
02:50falling as snow over the hills as well temperatures generally in the range of
02:54eight to eleven degrees across the board so it will turn cold colder for a time
03:00particularly towards the middle of the week if you'd like more information on
03:03this you can follow us on our social media channels see you again soon
