00:00You know, you never know for sure, but it does, it sort of feels like both he and Wyatt
00:04Teller are probably, are probably moving on now.
00:08And I mean, what, maybe part of that's mutual, I don't know, but obviously Betonio has been
00:12a great, great Brown over the years, you know, and I think he's sort of one of the bellwethers
00:16through some pretty stormy years would be one of the guys that kept everything together.
00:21And so I certainly think like he's one you don't want to lose, but I guess it'd be, yeah,
00:26he'd be gone.
00:27Albert Breer of the MMQB talking about Joel Betonio and whether the Browns signing Zion
00:32Johnson and Tevin Jenkins spells the end for Joel Betonio.
00:37Now he did say he'll be gone.
00:39That doesn't specify a retirement or leaving the Browns in free agency.
00:43Yes.
00:44But for the part that matters, I guess the most for us, it didn't sound very good.
00:48Cause it doesn't matter to me if he ends up with the chargers at all.
00:50That doesn't bother me at all.
00:51I think it more bothers me from if the Browns knew this is a possibility.
00:55I think they should have gotten out ahead of it.
00:57It just doesn't bother me.
00:58I get what you're saying, but I also in it, like it didn't, it doesn't appear like it impacted
01:03anything that they wanted to do in this free agency.
01:06And ultimately if he decided he didn't want to be here, there's nothing they could do that
01:09was going to change his mind.
01:10Now it also gave me hope about the Rasheed Walker stuff.
01:14I think far and away he's seen as, is one of the best three or four free agents that
01:18are left out there.
01:19Yeah.
01:19NFL.com today had him as third.
01:21I kind of liked the idea that his market is coming down a little bit.
01:24Listen, in the end, just go sign him.
01:26I don't give a rip about money.
01:28I don't like, no, one of the advantages the Browns have is that they, they just, they
01:32spend money and they don't let that get in the way.
01:34And I guess there's, it's what's interesting to me is like, I like, we got new things with
01:38Tom Pellicero.
01:40Ooh.
01:41All right.
01:41Now wait, is this, is not, there's not Jordan Schultz here.
01:44So they're expected to sign a Packers player.
01:47Who's that?
01:47The Browns are?
01:48Yeah.
01:48The Browns are Elton Jenkins.
01:51Oh, Elton Jenkins.
01:52Yeah.
01:52Nice.
01:54He was, he can play guard or center.
01:56Yeah.
01:56That's good.
01:57And then a two year, $24 million deal.
01:59That's not bad.
01:59I thought he just failed a physical.
02:01Didn't he just fail a physical?
02:02That's why that's the excuse that the Packers used to cut him.
02:06So the Packers chose re-signing Sean Ryan over a cheaper deal to be their center going
02:11forward than pay him big money.
02:13Cause he did get paid big money like three years ago.
02:16Elton Jenkins.
02:16Two year, $24 million, $20 million guaranteed.
02:19Elton Jenkins, win healthy.
02:21He's a very, very good football player.
02:23It's also worth noting too, that yesterday, Brandon Thornton had talked about on Twitter,
02:27the release of Elton Jenkins saying that he was a much better guard as well.
02:31So he also has that positional versatility as well.
02:34I believe.
02:35I already said that one.
02:36The positional versatility there, Jordan Schultz.
02:38We did that one.
02:40Jordan Schultz.
02:41So Jonathan earlier said that he wanted to have Mack have a full day of just bangers.
02:46Yeah.
02:46Like a perfect day.
02:47And I think Mack is having an imperfect day.
02:51Like since we went down that road, it has just been, it has just been nonstop.
02:55Honestly, you kind of cursed him.
02:56You kind of cursed Mack.
02:58So is he going to play guard or center here?
03:00What is he going to do?
03:01I mean, I would imagine that he's coming in $20 million to play center, right?
03:04I would think so.
03:06Because Zion Johnson becomes your left guard.
03:07Tevin Jenkins is your right guard.
03:09I mean, because you can, you can pay a guard that money though, and still exist.
03:12This isn't, uh, it's, it's not, it's not unheard of.
03:15But does that make Tevin Jenkins your backup?
03:17Because I would be a little surprised if Tevin can only get backup money at this point in his career.
03:22After having been here for a year, if he was going to go be a backup, maybe he'd be a
03:25backup.
03:25He really impressed him last year, but he just, he is, he's made a glass.
03:29And so is, so is Elton Jenkins.
03:31And so is DeJuan Jones.
03:32And so basically what we're having here is a, a lot of guys on an offensive line.
03:37A glass off.
03:37A glass off.
03:38Yeah.
03:38A bunch of real glass off.
03:39It's like a guys that we know can play.
03:41Since college.
03:42But also, uh, at no point do we think they can actually stay healthy for the entire season,
03:47which goes against, by the way, what Howard brings to the table and what Zion Johnson brings
03:51to the table, which is their durability and their health.
03:54So the funny thing is, I was just about to make the case of if, if Caleb Lomu or Monroe
03:59Freeling are going to be average left tackles, if you're getting like a Colton Miller, I'd
04:04rather Rasheed Walker.
04:05Um, I would imagine that this kind of money thrown to Elton Jenkins brings him down.
04:11Should be noted by the way, like he was, he had, he played half a season last year, the
04:16three previous seasons, 15, 15 and 17 games.
04:20So he has actually been mostly healthy the last four years.
04:25It's just last year he wasn't and he's on the wrong side of 30.
04:28And then they just, they just used that to go ahead and get out of the deals all it was.
04:31Yeah.
04:31But I do like this move for the Browns.
04:33I honestly, if we get into, do you know what his injury, when he failed, what it actually
04:36was?
04:37I don't honestly remember, but he's the best offensive lineman they've added.
04:41Like when he plays at his best, whether it's left guard or center, he's better than Zion
04:46Johnson has been at, uh, any spot he's played at and he's better than, uh, Tristan Howard,
04:51a lower leg fracture.
04:53Titus.
04:54I don't know why I keep trying to call him Tristan.
04:56That's all right.
04:57A lower leg fracture.
04:58Lower leg fracture is what got him in week 10.
05:01I like this move.
05:02I think this is a, now everyone's going to call him Eggleton instead of Elton, which I think
05:06I called him Elkton or something.
05:07I don't know what it was somewhere, nowhere close.
05:09That's fine.
05:10I don't know why they added a G in the middle of Elton.
05:12It's kind of dumb.
05:13Is it not?
05:13I will say, well, I don't want to insult his parents, but I wouldn't say it's the smartest
05:16thing anyone's done with the name Elton.
05:18It just sets you up to say Elkton.
05:19You really have set the kid up for failure by adding a silent G in the middle of the name.
05:24That's all you've done.
05:25Yes.
05:25There's no other way to look at it.
05:26Like anytime somebody is like, I want to, I want it to be like a name you've heard before,
05:30but I don't want it to look like a name you've heard before.
05:33I'm like, okay, you're making a point.
05:35You're basically writing a check that that kid's ass is going to have to cash all their
05:40life.
05:40What they're doing is they're, they do like, you know how, uh, uh, the G in lasagna, you
05:45had to move in silence, like the G in lasagna, like that, like that's all you did here.
05:49You just appropriated that for that.
05:50Maybe they just really like lasagna.
05:52They want to, they want to move.
05:53They want to move in silence.
05:54Now I'm back on the silent G.
05:55You want to move in silence like the G in lasagna.
05:57You make this G silent as well.
05:58Big, uh, it's a big nod.
06:00That's all that is.
06:00Now I'm a big fan because we like lasagna here.
06:03Uh, I like this move.
06:04I really do.
06:04It's a little, I mean, 20 million guaranteed for a guy that is on the wrong side.
06:08It's going to be 30.
06:10Oh, wait, no, he's not gonna be 31 until December.
06:12And so he'll be 31 this football season, but it's a good football player.
06:17And again, he's the best offensive lineman that you've added across the board.
06:23So when he made the pro bowl in 2022, that was as a split left guard and right tackle situation.
06:28I find his, the flexibility and really, this is kind of what it screams to in the entirety
06:33of this.
06:33The versatility that he has had throughout his career is interesting.
06:37A lot of the guys that they've signed have shown this same versatility.
06:402024.
06:40It was mainly as a left guard, Nick.
06:42Like there's, it's interesting to me, uh, in pro bowl years that he has done has been
06:46mainly as a left guard, more so than what you've seen in the center spot.
06:50And so I, I, I find is again, all these guys that they've signed, it's all been about these
06:54guys that can play multiple spots in the offensive line and have played multiple spots throughout
06:58the entire time that they've been in the NFL.
07:00You've got to find that as curious as I do.
07:03Yes.
07:03Like, it's like the idea that Andrew Barry went in this big hole speech for years now
07:07about how you can just basically move these pieces.
07:09And everyone's like, you can't just move pieces.
07:11And he's like, you can move pieces.
07:12But then in turn, he has found guys like Howard, who's moved everywhere and played everywhere.
07:16Uh, Zion, who has played multiple different spots in the guard selection, Elton Jenkins,
07:22who has played not only different tackle spots, but has been a pro bowl in two different spots
07:26between right tackle and left guard.
07:28And as now then been a center last year, like there's like the versatility, I think is what
07:33he's going for here and the flexibility that it offers Tevin Jenkins, another one of these
07:37guys started off as a tackle and now has become a guard.
07:39Like it's, it's very interesting what he's gone for within this 216-474-009 to the Brown
07:46signing, uh, former Packers Pro Bowl center and guard Elton Jenkins to a two-year deal
07:51were 20 million guaranteed.
07:54So, uh, Jenkins, Johnson, Jenkins, I realized what I did there.
08:01Tevin Jenkins, uh, and, uh, Titus Howard Jenkins, Jenkins, Jenkins, and Johnson sounds
08:08like a law firm.
08:08I would, I wouldn't, I would go to emphasis on Johnson.
08:11What do we think about the Browns, uh, attack here, the offensive line?
08:16Abog lead BEN!
08:16Yeah, it's all the coups, you're not so cool.
08:16I mean, me, Sal, it's really about overcomingAI.
08:16It's just like the the bad man in that situation.
