00:00The Browns are four and two.
00:01They managed to pull off a 13 to 10 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
00:08And, uh, well, listen, nobody's going to sit here and tell you that it was pretty.
00:12I just don't know that I really care to sit here and really worry about the fact of if
00:17it was pretty or not.
00:18The Browns are four and two.
00:19They got a win over another divisional opponent.
00:21They're two and oh, in the AFC North, they're currently atop the AFC North.
00:25And like, I said, I, I, you don't know how long it lasts.
00:29You don't know what's actually coming down for a, you know, the rest of the season.
00:33So I think you take this moment, enjoy it while it stands there.
00:36Like you're six weeks into an NFL season after two years of having eight total wins.
00:42And you currently have four and lead a division that still includes a damn good Ravens team,
00:46even though Lamar is not currently healthy, a Pittsburgh team that is still putting up
00:51wins and a Cincinnati team that has now had their buy.
00:54And that's about the only reason they're trailing anybody in this division.
00:57Cause they're three and two.
00:59But I, I, I kind of go back and look at that game and obviously coming off of a Jets
01:04loss
01:04where I feel like I'm not going to say the Browns lost a lot of people, but it felt like
01:09that really the, the game that everybody felt like you should have won, even though Vegas
01:14is telling you, you shouldn't have won it.
01:16And everybody started rearing their heads, asking questions about the Browns.
01:20Are they legit?
01:21They're only a game over 500.
01:22Here comes Baltimore.
01:24And probably for, I don't know, three plus quarters of that game still felt that way.
01:29It's like, okay, maybe this Browns team just isn't very good.
01:31The defense is showing up.
01:32The offense looks like the offense of, you know, 2024, 2025.
01:36Can we get anything going?
01:38And then another fourth quarter performance, another game winning drive by Deshaun Watson.
01:42And you look up and sure, it might've taken advantage of the fact that the Baltimore Ravens
01:47are playing Tyler Huntley at quarterback.
01:49I've taken advantage of the fact that you could actually slow down that Ravens offense because
01:53of it, but you still walk away being foreign too.
01:56Like I'm not going to sit here and try and project the Browns to win the AFC North.
02:00I'm not going to tell you they're a better team period than the Baltimore Ravens currently
02:05constructed in the way that the Ravens are going to be by the end of the year.
02:09I think you're still obviously a step below that team, but I think what probably should
02:14have happened with the win on Sunday is all of the questions and skepticism.
02:22Listen, they don't have to go away because I still think there's a lot of questions to ask
02:25about this team, but they should be quieted, right?
02:28There should be an overwhelming faith just built up with this team that, Hey, maybe they
02:34can do it like a little bit of belief that the Browns have now proven to us over six weeks
02:39while still taking on pretty good football teams right now, not the juggernauts of the
02:44NFL, but welcome to your schedule in 2026, but while still taking on pretty good football
02:48teams have managed to go four and two to start a season that should build up belief that
02:52should build up confidence that they're like, Hey, maybe walking into a week seven against
02:57the Tennessee Titans, you got a pretty good feeling.
03:00The Browns could be five and two after this week, taking on the sealers.
03:03There's a definite chance.
03:04They could be six and two by the time you get through the next two weeks.
03:09And we're encroaching on just about everybody's a win protection for the Browns.
03:13And we're not even to the buy, which is coming in week 11, but you still have two games,
03:17still a potential to maybe get to even seven wins by the time that you get to the buy and
03:23feel really good about this team.
03:26I just don't know how much longer we have to go before winning is the thing that ultimately
03:32matters.
03:33Doesn't look pretty.
03:35Doesn't have to look pretty.
03:37The Browns continue to win games.
03:39At what point does the belief actually just rise?
03:42What point do you just go?
03:44I don't care the way that it looks.
03:45The Browns are just winning football games.
03:48And again, it doesn't have to be a belief that the Browns are going to win the Super Bowl.
03:50In fact, it absolutely should not be a belief that the Browns are going to win the Super Bowl
03:53because I'd still at this point call you delusional.
03:57But a belief that they could be an above 500 football team, a belief that they could get
04:02into the playoffs, a belief that, hey, maybe depending on what that playoff matchup looks
04:07like, you might even be able to sneak out a win with the way this defense is playing.
04:10Those are the type of things that I think if you just continue to question this team
04:15and over and over and over again, basically wait for the idea that the other shoe is going
04:20to drop and this team is eventually going to stink.
04:23All you're going to do by the end of this is just pretty much sit here and worry away
04:30what is the best Browns season that you've watched in a handful of years.
04:34Right?
04:34And like right now, Joe Flacco's run was amazing.
04:37I take the course of this season right now over the entirety of the course of the 2023 season,
04:42which included playing PJ Walker, playing Dorian Thompson Robinson, and then eventually
04:47having to pull Joe Flacco off the couch and pray.
04:50We're in a better spot than that right now.
04:53Okay.
04:53It's just in a better location and it could get worse.
04:57You could go to the spot where you're maybe reaching into that DTR type of bag later in
05:01the year.
05:01But for right now, that's kind of what I point to.
05:04Like 2023 is the example of a season can turn and be that ugly.
05:10Like if you don't just sit back and enjoy it while it's happening, then what's the point?
05:15Like at the end of the day, this is a world of sports that is, you know, as much as
05:19it
05:19is very real for, I mean, obviously me and just about everybody who listens to this, like
05:23we sleep and breathe this, it is also obviously not real life.
05:27Like if you're just going to sit there and basically put down the Browns and be like,
05:31ah, but they're not actually that good and take a miserable approach or even a scared
05:35or like skeptic approach to the entire season, you're missing what has been six really good
05:40weeks of football, a time to enjoy the Browns actually winning games.
05:44It's just not guaranteed moving forward with the lack of depth this team has with the fickle
05:50play at quarterback.
05:53You're just not guaranteed anything moving forward.
05:55And like, I've thoroughly enjoyed the six weeks of football that we have watched where
05:59you have accumulated half of the wins that you have in two years.
06:02This has been an enjoyable time, even if every individual moment of the game is not enjoyable.
06:06And let me tell you, I did not enjoy watching Browns football for three quarters on Sunday.
06:10Okay.
06:11It was irritating.
06:13I was annoyed.
06:14I wanted to see the offense actually go and do something.
06:16But by the end of the day, by the time that I get to four o'clock on Sunday, I
06:20get to walk
06:21away feeling, yes, it actually feels pretty good.
06:23Hey, the Browns did put themselves in a good spot.
06:26And Mary Kay Cab was on the station earlier today and kind of pointed to this idea.
06:30The Browns are four and two, but maybe even more of a reason that things could continue
06:36to go well.
06:37The good news on that is they're still going through their growing pains.
06:41They're still figuring things out.
06:42They don't have their act together yet.
06:45The young guys are still learning their way.
06:47The offensive line is still coming together.
06:50Deshaun Watson is still in some ways knocking off some of the rust and things like that.
06:54So I really think that, you know, they have an opportunity to get better as the weeks
06:59go by.
07:00And if they can just keep winning and hang in there while things aren't going great,
07:05then they should be able to make a little bit of a run and keep things interesting in
07:09December.
07:09And like the fact that we're talking about interesting Browns football in December after
07:13assuming what this year was going to be puts you in a fantastic spot.
07:17But I think Mary Kay's right.
07:19Like on a lot of those fronts.
07:20Yeah.
07:20The Browns are going through growing pains.
07:22Like we see it week after week, game after game.
07:25They are still struggling with a lot of things that I don't know that it ultimately does
07:30get fixed by the end of the season.
07:32We'll have to see, but they should get better.
07:34Like the offensive line should continue to grow.
07:36Your rookie wide receivers should continue to get better as the year goes on.
07:40Deshaun Watson getting more and more comfortable in the offense with every week that goes by
07:44should hopefully, I don't know, maybe at one point this year, put together a full game
07:48or just look more comfortable doing it.
07:51Those are the things that you should be able to latch onto the things you should be able
07:55to be a little bit more confident about.
07:56This team does still have room to grow.
07:59Like they are not just a team that's an average age of 30 and just surviving every single week.
08:06There are several teams across the NFL.
08:08I would be much more skeptical of the Browns right now and not even just saying what they
08:13end up being this year, but the fact that the way they're playing in this exact moment
08:17might be the way that they end up playing for the entirety of the year.
08:20Like I feel better to be a Browns fan right now than I feel probably to be a Los Angeles
08:24Rams fan considering they just have injuries on injuries on injuries, even though that
08:28is a Super Bowl contending team.
08:31Like I don't even know that looking around at four and two, you don't even have to leave
08:35the division.
08:36At four and two, I feel better that the Browns are going to continue to get to be a better
08:40football team as the year goes on than I feel that the Pittsburgh Steelers are going
08:44to continue to improve and improve and improve week after week.
08:47Like that is an older team.
08:49Those are guys who have been in the NFL for a really long time.
08:51Those are not a ton of players, right?
08:53Yeah.
08:53They still have them like Jeremy Bernard and Maxie and Achor and all of these guys that
08:57yes, are going to get better.
08:59They will probably be a better team at week 17 if they're healthy than they are right
09:02now.
09:03But the Browns growth feels exponential might be a step too far, but somewhere in that range,
09:10right?
09:10You can continue to grow and get better and you can continue to see improvements from this
09:15team as the year goes on that like you're worried about four and two instead of being
09:20excited about where a team could be by the time that we reach the end of this season.
09:25And again, I still don't think that's a, you know, Super Bowl contending team.
09:28I don't even know if that's a, a playoff or playoff game winning team that exists in the
09:33Browns, but it's a team that has a lot of ways to grow a team that has a lot of
09:37versions
09:38of itself that can continue to get better in guys.
09:42You can be excited about not just right now, but years in the future that you are actively
09:46watching, try and take steps forward.
09:48And I get not every single week is linear.
09:50Like Quinshawn, we are hoping for better things.
09:52Harold Fannin probably hoping for better things so far this year, but I, I'm still excited
09:57to see where those guys get to by the end of the season, how much more they can get involved,
10:01how much they can actually improve.
10:04If the Browns are winning games, well, actively in a year where so many of us looked around
10:08and said, yeah, this is all about the young guys, you know, how much experience can you
10:12get them?
10:12How much can you get them to develop it?
10:14Hopefully we win games along the way, but you're getting the hopefully part done right
10:17now.
10:18And I would say for a majority of it, you're also getting the developed young talent part
10:22down too.
10:24That just isn't a enjoyable experience and does have me at a point right now where I look
10:29at the Browns and there is a little bit of belief moving forward because I think they
10:32can get better.
10:33I still look at this team and tell you your original wind projections should be thrown
10:38out the window at this point.
10:39You should be looking at this team.
10:41I mean, just looking at the numbers, what to win nine games this year, right?
10:45To be an above 500 football team.
10:49They have to go what down the stretch?
10:52I mean, they have to win five more games while not being able to lose.
10:58I mean, like six, like you're just in a good spot moving forward.
11:02You have to go, you know, basically play 500 football from here on out to be an above 500
11:07football team.
11:08And the Tennessee Titans being the next team up on the docket probably makes you feel
11:11like that number gets a little bit more believable, feels a little bit better, but
11:15even not that like getting to eight or nine wins in this year.
11:18I tell you that from the beginning, you might not like where it puts the Browns draft position
11:21wise, but I think you would consider that individually in 2026, a successful season.
