23 February - National Weather Forecast presented by Annie Shuttleworth.
Transcript
00:00Hello, good afternoon. We've got a very mild week ahead of us, particularly on Wednesday,
00:04but there will be some rain throughout this week and into this evening a band of rain pushes in
00:09from the south and west. This is the satellite picture from this morning. You see a frontal
00:14system actually across parts of the northeast of the UK. That's moving away, so any showers
00:19across the northeast should start to clear. But from the south and west we've got the next
00:23band moving in. Much of the rain on this band will be relatively light actually, but it's
00:28coastal areas and parts of the northwest that will see the heaviest rain from this weather
00:32front. It's also bringing in even milder air for the middle parts of this week. So a blanket
00:38of cloud moving in from the south and west, but northeastern areas actually seeing a much
00:42drier afternoon. Temperatures 10 or 11 degrees quite widely, 12 or 13 across the south. So
00:48in any sunshine it will feel relatively pleasant, but there are quite brisk southwesterly winds
00:53through this afternoon. Into this evening, this band of rain pushes north and eastwards
00:58into parts of Scotland, northern England. Behind it, it does turn drier, but it will remain
01:02quite cloudy overnight. Still some rain over the high ground as well as across coastal areas
01:07and quite brisk southerly winds moving in. Still a mild direction, so it will be another
01:11mild night. Temperatures in the high, single figures quite widely to start the day on Tuesday.
01:17So our but cloudy start to the day on Tuesday. More in the way of brightness to come though
01:22into tomorrow, particularly across southern areas. With those southerly winds, we could
01:26see temperatures reaching around 15 degrees, most likely across the north coast of Cornwall
01:32or Devon. We could see temperatures in the mid-teens actually towards the north coast of
01:36the northeast of Scotland, but widely 13 or 14 degrees for many areas. And with some brightness,
01:43it's going to feel pretty pleasant actually across central and southern areas. Across the north,
01:47west though, the rain persisting, particularly north-western Scotland. So relatively restricted
01:52to these areas. So for most of us, it is going to be quite a dry day on Tuesday. And
01:57that remains
01:57pretty similar into the evening as well. A pretty clear evening to come on Tuesday evening for much
02:02of England and Wales. The cloud still lingering across the north-west with further rain pushing
02:07up from the south into northern Ireland and parts of Scotland. But it will turn exceptionally mild
02:12into Wednesday. So please stay tuned to the forecast and don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube
