00:00Good morning and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:03The week ahead is set to be quite changeable but also mild for all of us as we go through
00:08the next few days.
00:09And that's really how we start this week.
00:11Got plenty of showers out there for Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England.
00:14But these will gradually ease as we head through the course of the day.
00:18And it's all in response of this next band of cloud and rain which will gradually spread its way north
00:23eastward.
00:24So come the afternoon, a spell of wet weather for Northern Ireland and Wales, maybe the Midlands too.
00:28And to the south of this rain band, quite murky.
00:31Still some further outbreaks of mainly light rain and drizzle and plenty of hill fog too, especially down towards the
00:37south west.
00:38But towards the north east, something a bit drier and brighter for a time for Scotland and northeastern England.
00:44And for all of us, it's going to be a mild day, especially in the south.
00:47Could see temperatures easily reaching the low teens.
00:51Into the evening now as the band of rain will continue to spread its way north eastwards.
00:54It's turned quite heavy and persistent for a time for western Scotland.
00:58And behind it, it does leave behind quite a lot of cloud and still some further outbreaks of mainly light
01:03rain and drizzle.
01:05But with winds coming in from the south and that cloud covering place, it's going to be a very mild
01:09night.
01:10These temperatures are really what we should be expecting during the day this time of year, not during the night.
01:15And in the south, some places actually not much lower than 10 or 11 degrees.
01:20But it does mean we will start Tuesday off on a fairly grey note.
01:23Still some rain for Shetland and Orkney, but that will clear away.
01:27But at the same time, another band of rain will then move into parts of western and northern Scotland.
01:32Elsewhere, plenty of cloud around and that cloud will be thick enough for some spots of rain.
01:37But come the afternoon, we'll start to see that cloud break up, especially down towards south eastern England.
01:42Maybe there's some parts of the Midlands too.
01:44And that will allow it to feel very mild for the time of year.
01:47Actually, we will potentially be up to about 14 or 15 degrees here.
01:51And elsewhere, temperatures easily into double figures, but maybe tempered a little bit by the brisk winds.
01:58Then a quick look ahead towards the rest of the week.
02:00And if anything, it turns even milder for Wednesday as we start to drag in some very mild air from
02:05the south.
02:06Could see highs reaching 17 or 18 degrees in the southeast than any sunshine.
02:10But it won't last. Temperatures will begin to tumble away again as we start to see winds come back in
02:16from the west.
02:17And also bringing in some further spells of wet weather as we end the week.
02:21But you can find out more information about the weather where you are on our website.
02:25But for me for now, take care and I'll see you again soon.
