00:00Hello, there's a lot more rain to come through the rest of this week, I'm afraid, but there
00:05has been some drier weather through this morning across many northern areas. You can see on
00:09the latest satellite picture, still some clear skies actually this morning, some sunshine
00:14for parts of northern England. However, we've got low pressure waiting in the wings and
00:18that will bring with it some wet weather fronts. There's also a string of weather fronts pushing
00:23up into parts of Scotland as well. That's brought some wet weather to the north of Scotland.
00:27A drier slot to come that has moved in between, but as you can see from the radar, some very
00:33heavy bursts of rain across parts of southern England as well as Wales through this morning.
00:37That's going to push into northern Ireland, northern England as well as southern Scotland
00:41through this afternoon. Quite breezy too, and a risk of some heavy thundery downpours following
00:46behind across southwestern areas. It's a southerly wind for most areas. It's a fairly mild direction
00:53for the time of year, nine or ten degrees. Temperatures above average, but very little
00:57in the way of sunshine, a lot of cloud and rain around. Some clear skies though still holding
01:02on into this evening across the far north of Scotland. That's probably the only place
01:07to remain dry into this afternoon. But the wet weather will push further north into Scotland
01:12and it's eastern Scotland where the focus for the rain becomes from this evening. Southeasterly
01:18winds, quite brisk southeasterly winds will bring a risk of large waves across eastern
01:22coasts of Scotland. Could see some snow as well above around 400 metres and the rain is
01:27going to keep falling here until the end of the week. Elsewhere, a blanket of cloud across
01:33the country overnight tonight and those southerly winds still continuing. So a fairly mild night
01:38for the time of year. Frost free by Thursday morning, but a damp start to the day to come
01:44on Thursday. As you can see, further heavy bursts of rain here and there. The winds start
01:48to move in from a westerly direction across more southern areas, but it's this southeasterly
01:54direction across eastern Scotland that's going to start to bring some issues. Some of these
01:58winds could be gale force as well. So some very strong winds around, but it's the rain that
02:03is the focus for Thursday onwards across these areas. For most areas, to be honest, actually,
02:09heavy bursts of rain are likely. The rain will come and go away from parts of eastern Scotland,
02:14but I think you're going to be needing to carry a raincoat or umbrella wherever you are.
02:19Again, another pretty mild day for parts of England and Wales, but when we're starting to see more of
02:24this southeasterly wind moving across eastern coasts of England as northern England, as well as
02:30northern Scotland, much of Scotland, we will start to see temperatures falling away a little below
02:35average. We're starting to see some colder air moving in from eastern Europe. That'll become more
02:40of a feature into next week, however. So a further wet weather to come on Thursday evening. A drier slot
02:47developing just to the south and west. You can see some clearer skies across parts of southwest
02:52England, south Wales. So some dry weather on the cards, but further snowfall expected across the high
02:58ground of eastern Scotland. You could see some snow as well across the highest ground of the Pennines as
03:04well in any of the heavier bursts of rain. The dry weather across the southwest isn't going to last
03:08all that long. The next area of low pressure is set to bring another spell of wet and windy weather
03:14into the southwest. Meanwhile, more northern areas starting to see more of that colder air moving in
03:20by the weekend. There's still some uncertainty in the details for this wet and windy weather to the
