00:00Hello, good afternoon. Plenty of fine and dry weather to come today, but a thundery breakdown
00:05is underway from this evening for much of England and Wales because low pressure is set to move in
00:12through the rest of today. That's down to the south of the UK, moving up from the Bay of Biscay.
00:17Ahead of that, we've still got high pressure dominating, so plenty of dry and clear weather
00:21for more northern and eastern areas. But through this afternoon, it will turn increasingly cloudy,
00:26increasingly humid. And you can see on the radar, there's already some showers across parts of the
00:31southwest. Now, not a lot of this rainfall is actually reaching the ground. So not as heavy
00:35as they do look on this image, but that increased risk of chance of heavy thundery downpours does
00:41increase throughout this afternoon and into this evening. Elsewhere, though, a dry afternoon to come.
00:47An easterly wind for much of England and Scotland, though, so it will feel a little bit fresher across
00:52more eastern coast, but inland areas. Parts of south Wales even seeing temperatures climb towards
00:56the higher 20s, 27, possibly 28 degrees. It's possible for some areas of England into this
01:03afternoon. Now, bands of showery rain push north and eastwards throughout this evening into parts
01:08of northern Ireland, Wales, central and eastern areas of England. And that's when we start to pick up
01:14the chance of thunderstorms. So some very heavy downpours, a lot of rain falling in a short space of
01:19time. So we do have a thunderstorm warning out for much of Wednesday across a large swathe of England
01:25and Wales. Although a lot of this rain is wanted, where it falls in a short space of time, that's
01:30where we've got that chance of surface water flooding, as well as the added risks the thunderstorms
01:35bring of lightning and hail. More northern areas should remain relatively dry overnight. And easterly
01:41wind, though, will continue to drag in quite a lot of cloud. And it's going to start to feel
01:44increasingly humid throughout Wednesday, particularly across more southern areas. You can see these
01:50outbreaks of rain. We've got some bright colours here and it's likely to be quite heavy actually
01:54through Wednesday for much of England and Wales. There could be a bit of a break in the rain
01:59before further showers break out into the afternoon, a little bit more sporadic in nature. So a lot
02:05of areas seeing some quite dry, fine weather through the afternoon in England and Wales. But where we do
02:10catch those showers again, there's that chance of surface water flooding. Much of Scotland, though,
02:15getting away with a relatively dry day, plenty of sunshine, feeling quite pleasant in the north and
02:19west, away from that easterly wind. Temperatures 23 or 24 degrees here. Wherever you are, though,
02:26you are going to notice the humidity through Wednesday afternoon. And that continues into the evening as
02:31well. So it will be quite warm overnight over the next few nights, particularly across more southern
02:36areas. Showers will tend to fade away into the evening on Wednesday. A little bit of respite,
02:42but then you can see down to the south and west, the next batch of rain is set to arrive
02:47throughout Thursday. Another area of low pressure, renewed area of low pressure, swinging up more
02:53humid and thundery air to bring further thunderstorms. There's likely to be further warnings through
