00:00Severe thunderstorms rumbling through the I-95. It's a nasty evening. We've had flash flooding problems in Lancaster County of
00:06PA.
00:07More flash flooding will be with us here with damaging winds continuing into the evening.
00:11And eventually, later tonight, this will come down to a conclusion.
00:14But areas between I-81 and I-95, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, northern Maryland, northern Delaware,
00:20those are the areas that we're most concerned about here with flash flooding and damaging winds.
00:24You can see some Glen Burnie, Maryland footage there. And again, that's been a problem early in this event with
00:30heavy rain and thunderstorms.
00:32Overnight tonight, lingering thunderstorms for many of us. Buffalo to Boston and south down into the Virginias.
00:37Scattered storms into areas around Indianapolis and Louisville as well.
00:41We could see a thunderstorm tonight as well into Chicago and Green Bay, by the way.
00:45The shower around there. But otherwise, pretty warm. Burlington has a low of 71.
00:50You know, it's a warm night. The dew point is up. Heat advisories have been in effect.
00:55And, you know, the actual air temp has been near 90, but it has felt way worse because of the
01:01extremely high humidity.
01:02It is the humidity more than the heat with this setup.
01:05Saturday, more thunderstorms in many areas here across the Northeast.
01:09Let's take a look at future radar and clouds going through the recent hours and onward.
01:14Many thunderstorms will be with us still this evening.
01:17New York City up into Albany. Scranton up into the southern part of New England.
01:20Then into Saturday, there will be some showers and storms.
01:24If you're hoping to mow the lawn, keep an eye on the radar.
01:26Keep your ears peeled for thunder as well.
01:30And overall, more storms will be out there in many areas here with this high humidity and heat still in
01:34place.
01:35We'll be dealing with a little bit of a reduction in the humidity come Sunday.
01:38Not quite as humid Sunday.
01:41And we'll have fewer storms and showers around then.
01:43But then on Monday, we get back into it with strong thunderstorms returning to some parts of the interior northeast
01:48as we kick off the work week.
01:50So here we are Sunday.
01:51Sunday's the day with a little bit less activity.
01:54But there will be some showers and storms Monday and Monday evening that move from Chicago down into parts of
01:59Ohio, Pennsylvania.
02:00And by Monday evening, western West Virginia may get back into the severe weather zone.
02:04And we're concerned about this area here.
02:06There is going to be this repetitively wet pattern across this region next week from the Midwest into the interior
02:13northeast with localized flash flooding, locally severe storms.
02:16And we are concerned about areas around the west-facing slopes of the mountains here and into the central and
02:21southern Appalachians.
02:22Rounds of heavy rain, flash flooding, all big concerns here.
02:25Road washouts could even occur.
02:27Iraqi with a local storm axe, extreme high-end, worst-case potential, maybe up to a foot of rain.
02:33Now, that would be extreme.
02:34Most areas will see just a few inches of rain.
02:36So we'll be watching as these storms continue to roll on in.
02:40And you can see the rain beginning to pick up there in many spots there into Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and
02:45northern parts of West Virginia.
