00:00The stem of Long Island now and plowing east. I want to zoom in though and look at some of
00:04these storm reports and there have been many of them and overall recently some reports a strong wind. Bed-Stuy
00:11there in Kings County there in two parts of the Bronx. We're dealing with the trees down on Prospect Place.
00:19Cliffside Park in Bergen County, New Jersey wires down New Jersey Route 63. Had some hail up into Rivervale in
00:25Bergen County as well. Montvale power lines down. Some of these reports up to the north were pretty nasty here.
00:29Tree onto a house in Rockland County. Half inch size hail for some and then also flash flooding in Spring
00:36Valley. Water rescue due to a car stuck in floodwaters on Noise Avenue near Fairview in Spring Valley. Rockland County.
00:43Nasty storm reports coming from that area. Freehold, New Jersey down to the south of Monmouth County. You can see
00:48downed trees reports of one lane out of two. Right shoulder closed. Some lane and road closures due to some
00:57trees down and other areas here facing a lot of
00:59outages. Trees and wires down into Allentown in the city of Allentown. Trees down. Hamburg, PA in Berks County. Trees
01:07blocking roads. Trees down into parts of Maryland as well. So it's been a nasty evening. Tough end to the
01:13week here with gusty thunderstorms plowing through the area. We have a look at power outages that continue to pile
01:21up here. Southern Ohio has had your concentrated area of storms that you may have noticed as well moving into
01:25West Virginia.
01:25So right now if we just do a little quick math. We're at what 55,000 New York plus New
01:31Jersey. Another 15,000 as it takes us to 70. So about 80,000 addresses without power between Ohio and
01:37New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey. 80,000 addresses. That's probably about 150 to 200,000 actual people without electricity here
01:45in the wake of those storms.
01:47So the severe thunderstorm watch has been trimmed out of North Jersey, at least west of areas around Flemington. Pennsylvania
01:56is done with the watch. Most of Maryland is out of the watch except for the eastern shore. Delaware, coastal
02:01New Jersey, southeast New York State, and southwest Connecticut still remain under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m.
02:07And then the storms that have been really nasty in Iowa continue to push east with severe straight line winds.
02:14We've had many problems up this way and also severe thunderstorm watch in effect in northern Wisconsin and western parts
02:20of Michigan up in the upper peninsula.
02:22So the worst of the storms now moving through New York City and east into Long Island, southwest Connecticut, flash
02:28flooding and damaging wind have been our biggest issues out there.
02:31You can see wind and flooding, medium risk here into North Jersey and now into Long Island as well.
02:39Hail and tornadoes have been less likely with this. We've seen some hail, but that's been secondary behind the wind
02:44and the flash flooding.
02:45Heat advisories, though, have been with us, not necessarily because of just the straight up air temperatures at face value.
02:51It's been hot, but overall, the biggest storyline has been the humidity contributing to the feel outside.
02:58Hot spot on this whole map here as we look at all these cities, Boston at 92.
03:03Not off the charts hot, but it's warm. It's a hot time.
03:0692 in Boston. Other areas have been a little more temperate.
03:10For example, in Duluth, 75 looks pretty good out there.
03:13And we're going to be dealing with more storms on Saturday with scattered thunderstorms redeveloping in the afternoon.
03:19So we've been dealing with these storms plowing east future radar and clouds.

03:27This may be a little initializing a little bit late with the storms already moving through Long Island now.
03:32But new rounds tomorrow in the afternoon and evening.
03:35And then on Sunday, you'll notice there will be fewer storms in the northeast.
03:38That'll be your slightly less impactful weather day in the northeast.
03:41But then on Monday, more showers and storms.
03:43Some of these will be severe.
03:44Indiana, Ohio into western Pennsylvania late in the day Monday.
03:48So again, Sunday is the day with a bit more pleasant weather across the area and fewer storms.
03:55But on Monday, they come back rolling in from the west across the Midwest and into the interior northeast.
