29 November - National weather forecast presented by Liam Eslick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there. It's been quite a wet start to the weekend, but it is a weekend of two halves
00:05and we will see some nice crisp sunshine to end it on Sunday. But for the time being,
00:09we do have persistent rain across northern England where we do have a yellow weather
00:13warning in force over the next few hours. But further south, we do have some clearer
00:18skies developing and for Scotland, it is some nice crisp sunshine up here as well. But
00:24it will feel rather cold for Scotland, temperatures around those mid-single figures. Further south,
00:28it is a little bit milder, temperatures around 11, possibly even 12 degrees to end the afternoon.
00:34Now, as we go through the evening, a lot of this rain will continually push its way towards the
00:38North Sea. But as it does so, the winds will strengthen down this northeastern coast. We
00:43could potentially see some coastal gales here in the early hours of Sunday morning. But there are
00:48clearer skies developing for much of the UK and that will allow the temperatures to fall away. So
00:53expect a widespread frost across much of England and Wales. We could even see some icy stretch
00:58across Scotland by Sunday morning as well. Now, as that rain does continue to push its way out
01:05towards the North Sea, we will start to see some nice sunnier spells. So a lot more settled on
01:10Sunday than what we are expecting on Saturday. But it will still feel rather cold in this northerly
01:16wind. We may even still have some showers just creeping in towards those western coasts. And we do
01:21have this approaching weather front across Northern Ireland as well. But like I said, it will still feel
01:26rather cold most places around those mid-single figures. Towards the southwest, we may even just creep
01:31up towards 10, possibly even 11 degrees to end the weekend. Now, all eyes do turn towards this
01:37weather system on Sunday afternoon and evening. It will slowly start to push its way eastwards as we end
01:43the weekend, bringing some outbreaks of rain and it will start to feel rather windy as well. So that cloud
01:49filling in especially across the western half of the UK to end the weekend and to end November. But for
