Transcript
00:00Hello there, welcome to your Wednesday morning weather update from the Met Office.
00:05We're seeing showers, rain and a little sunshine coming through this morning into this afternoon.
00:10Low pressure though still with us and will be with us all week.
00:14Rather chilly across the north there as this weather front here has brought cloud and rain towards the south.
00:19So it's showery across Scotland and Northern Ireland and Northern England through the day.
00:22Some brighter skies just coming through from time to time and into tonight and through tomorrow it turns chilly.
00:30Particularly across more central and eastern areas before yet again more wet and windy weather moves in from the Atlantic.
00:37So all in all the weather remains mobile and lively with gales from time to time, outbreaks of rain but a little sunshine as well.
00:46Now if you're stepping out first thing this morning it's wet across Northern and Western Scotland with a strong wind.
00:51And showery across Northern Ireland.
00:54Now for the far south of Scotland, the far north of England you'll see some brighter skies, a few showers across Irish sea coasts.
01:00Then we run into this cloud and rain anywhere from southern parts of Wales, the west country, the Midlands, towards East Anglia, the Wash and then further south a little bit of showery.
01:10So as we go through today this band of rain is slow moving but it is clearing towards the south east.
01:15So certainly you'll see some wet weather through the afternoon as it brightens up across Wales and the Midlands.
01:19Brighter weather across southern parts of Scotland, northern England, a few showers and those showers will be frequent across Northern Ireland as well as Western Scotland.
01:27But places such as Angus, Aberdeenshire may get away with some brighter breaks.
01:32Showers though never too far away and certainly that will be the case across Northern Scotland as well as the Northern Isles.
01:38But notice by the end of the day we'll see the rain just confined to the home counties, the far south east of England.
01:44Temperatures then through the afternoon, well struggling to 10 across the north, 11 to 14 further south and south east.
01:51But that's not the end of the story through Wednesday evening.
01:54It's going to turn quieter and colder as that rain clears the far south east into Thursday morning.
02:01Showers become confined to the far north of Scotland.
02:04Clearer skies expect a frost, particularly in the north, before the cloud thickens towards the far south west.
02:09Expect some rain here first thing on Thursday morning.
02:12The rain then pushes across Northern Ireland.
02:14Wales showery across the Midlands as we see more persistent rain through the afternoon and into evening time across Northern England.
02:20much of Scotland and certainly a wet end of the day also for Northern Ireland.
02:25Winds will be a feature of the weather into Friday, the risk of gales and then into the weekend.
02:30You can see yet again the weather remains fairly mobile with bands of clouds, showers, rain moving across.
02:38Winds pick up from time to time and then some brighter weather coming through in between.
02:43So all in all, yes, wet weather to come through this week.
02:46And as we head into the beginning of November, a similar situation wherever you are.
02:49Have a lovely day and I'll see you again soon.
