27 September - national weather forecast presented by Liam Eslick
Transcript
00:00Hello there. It's been a quite cloudy afternoon to start the weekend and there has been some
00:05pretty heavy rain in a few spots across the UK this afternoon. Now we do have a yellow
00:10warning across western parts of Scotland through this evening and that is going to last until
00:15around midnight tonight. That's associated with this band of rain that we've got drapes
00:19across the UK through this evening. It will slowly start to move this way eastwards. It
00:24could remain a little bit persistent across northern Scotland through the early hours
00:28of Sunday morning. Behind that band we will start to see some clearer skies where we could
00:33see some mist and fog patches developing by Sunday morning. It will be a little bit cooler
00:39here as well. Temperatures dropping away towards those mid to low single figures. We could even
00:43see a grass frost across northern Wales by Sunday morning. But under that cloud and rain
00:48out towards the east it will be a little bit milder. Some places then around those double
00:52figures by first thing. Now as we go through Sunday morning this band of rain across the
00:58southeast will continually slowly move its way towards the North Sea. It may drag its
01:03heels a little bit through the morning and into the afternoon. But elsewhere some nice
01:08clear skies, some plenty of sunshine around. There may just be a few showers across Scotland,
01:13Northern Ireland and Northern England by the afternoon. But where we do get that prolonged
01:18sunshine especially across the south temperatures here could get up towards 19 maybe even 20 degrees.
01:24A little bit cooler further north around the mid-teens by the afternoon.
01:29Now as we head through that evening the cloud and rain that we do see towards the southeast
01:33will eventually start to melt away and the rest of the UK will see plenty of clear skies overnight
01:38tonight. Now that will allow those temperatures to fall away quite quickly. It will be a colder
01:43night than what we saw on Saturday night and plenty of mist and fog patches especially across
01:48the eastern half of England here. The temperatures, like I say, will be cooler. Temperatures around
01:53the mid to low single figures. A greater risk of seeing some grass frost especially across
01:58the northern half of Scotland and Northern England by the time people are waking up to
02:03start their commute on Monday morning. Now as we start the new working week it will be a
02:07bright start. Once the sun does rise a lot of the mist and fog and frost patches will
02:12slowly start to melt away. But that sunny start towards the week will start to turn a little
02:18bit hazy. We do have this higher cloud moving in from the west and we will start to see the
02:23return of rain across western Scotland as well. But where we do get the best of the sunshine
02:29especially across the southeast again a pretty pleasant start to the week. Temperatures around
02:3419 or 20 degrees. Under that cloud and rain towards Scotland it will start to feel a little
02:39bit cooler around those mid teens and maybe even those low double figures. Now let's split
02:45in the weather. That north west south east split will continue as we head into the next
02:49few days into the new week. But for all the detail don't forget to head over towards our
