29 November - National weather forecast presented by Liam Eslick.
Transcript
00:00Hello there. It's going to be a cold end towards November, but as we start December on Monday,
00:06things do start to change and start to turn a little bit more unsettled. But for the time being,
00:11we do have some persistent rain across northern England. Now that is moving its way off towards
00:15the North Sea, leaving some clearer skies overnight tonight. So temperatures are going to fall away
00:20and drop close to freezing for a time. We even have an ice warning for northern England during
00:27the early hours of Sunday morning. So do take care if you are getting up first thing to defrost
00:32your cars and take care driving on the roads. But as we go through the day, that ice warning
00:37does lift at around nine o'clock and we do have some clearer, brighter spells developing
00:41across much of the UK to end Sunday as well. Some showers developing in the west, drifting
00:47in towards the West Country, Wales and northwest England. And then we do have this band of rain
00:52drifting in towards Northern Ireland through the afternoon as well. But it will be a cold
00:58day, especially compared to yesterday. Temperatures struggling to get above those mid-single figures,
01:03maybe just a little bit milder across the southwest where we could get a 10 or an 11 degrees.
01:08Now this band of rain will continue to push its way eastwards through the evening and overnight
01:12period. And we do have a number of warnings coming into force past midnight on Monday. So persistent
01:19rain expected across the west. So we have a yellow warning for northwest England and the southwest.
01:23But we do have this amber warning for south Wales as well. So we are expecting quite a bit of
01:29disruption here, especially through much of Monday. So expecting some flooding. Do take care if you are
01:34looking to travel and don't forget to check out the latest updates. But this rain will persist through
01:40much of the day. And with that, it is going to be windy as well, especially for much of England and
01:46Wales. We could even see some coastal gales across the southwest as well. But we will see some brighter
01:51spells for Scotland. The winds will die down here, but there are a number of showers just across those
01:56northern coasts. But that heavy, persistent rain will continue across south Wales as well. So please do
02:01take care when travelling first thing. Temperatures wise, we're just above the seasonal average to begin
02:07December. But for all the updates on our warnings and how winter is going to pan out, don't forget to head over
