08 November - National evening forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Some of us might be heading out for some last-minute bonfire night celebrations this evening.
00:05It's not going to be as mild as what it was during the week, but it should be mostly dry,
00:10plenty of clear skies.
00:11Though under the clearer spells, it is going to be turning chilly and a good chance we
00:14could see some mist and fog redevelop by the time we reach Sunday morning.
00:17But as you can see, it's a very different story across Northern Ireland, western areas
00:21of Scotland, thicker areas of cloud pushing through here and also some outbreaks of rain.
00:26This could turn quite heavy by the morning across Northern Ireland and it's likely to
00:29turn quite blustery as we reach the morning too.
00:32So temperatures not dropping quite as low across these areas, but under any clear skies, most
00:36towns and cities in the mid to high single figures, so a bit of a chill in the air to
00:41begin the second half of the weekend.
00:43And through the course of the morning, more and more we'll see cloud areas of rain start
00:47to erratically move its way in from the west, particularly across Wales and southwest England
00:52where it could turn quite heavy.
00:54And of course into Sunday, this will be Remembrance Sunday and at 11 o'clock once again, a lot of
00:58dry weather, lots of sunshine, particularly across the far east and southeast, even brightening
01:03up across Northern Ireland.
01:04But across many western areas, there will be some spells of rain and also some light outbreaks
01:08of rain and drizzle across Scotland.
01:11And something of note, it is going to be quite breezy, particularly around any exposed western
01:15areas as this system continues to push its way eastwards.
01:18Now, if we do see any brighter spells, particularly across the southeast, temperatures are still above
01:23average for the time of year, reaching around 14 to 15 degrees, but across Northern areas
01:28feeling a little bit cooler, particularly where we see that brisk breeze.
01:33Into the evening, still unsettled, further spells of rain continuing to push their way
01:38north eastwards and also a secondary heavy band of rain starting to push up from the south.
01:42This will skirt its way northwards across the country through the course of Monday night.
01:46We'll see a bit of a flip in conditions, whereas this time Scotland and Northern Ireland will
01:51see the drier weather, the clearer skies, so turning chilly here, possibly even some frost
01:56and some mist and fog.
01:57But elsewhere, it will be a milder night to come, though mostly unsettled with spells of
02:02rain.
02:03And this is set to continue into Monday as well.
02:05Some heavy and blustery outbreaks of rain pushing their way into Scotland and northern parts
02:10of England, possibly reaching Northern Ireland.
02:12And once again, we'll see another feature just start to push its way in from the south.
02:16So further heavy and blustery spells of rain are set to continue, but it won't be a complete
02:20washout for all.
02:21There will be some drier and brighter spells, though it's likely we'll see a fair amount of
02:25cloud.
02:26And temperatures still fairly similar across parts of the south, reaching 14 to 15 degrees
02:31Celsius, but a lot fresher across parts of the north, so feeling cooler here to start
02:35next week, highs of around 10 to 11 degrees Celsius.
02:39Now for the remainder of the week, low pressure is still very much the dominating force, often
02:44pushing in from the west areas of low pressure, so further rain and showers expected.
02:50And notice the amount of isobars on the chart too, so it's likely we'll see further spells
02:54of blustery weather, particularly across the south, early next week.
02:57Still a fair amount of uncertainty in the forecast, so don't forget to stay updated on our YouTube
03:02channel.
03:03Bye-bye.
