00:00Hello there, good evening.
00:02We've had quite a mix in our weather today.
00:04Very dry still across the south with some intense sunshine.
00:08Elsewhere, though, often cloudy with some spells of rain and it will continue to stay
00:12this way for a time.
00:13Some dry, clear spells across the south to start the evening.
00:16Some showers will still continue to push southwards, particularly across central parts of England
00:21and Wales.
00:22But then another band of rain pushes its way across the north, bringing widespread outbreaks
00:27of rain across Scotland, northern parts of England and also Northern Ireland, and this
00:30could turn quite heavy overnight, especially across Scottish hills.
00:34But for all, it's going to be a much cloudier start on Sunday compared to what we've had
00:38recently, especially across the south and southeast.
00:41With the cloud and the added rain, that does stop temperatures dropping too low, so a mostly
00:45mild, if not quite warm, night to come.
00:48And on Sunday, it's going to be a very different feel for many areas.
00:52Quite a wet start across Scotland.
00:54And rain shifts its way eastwards and it becomes more showery in nature, especially as we head
00:59into the afternoon.
01:00This mostly across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northwest England.
01:03We'll see some showers across the south, mostly towards the start of the day.
01:08By the afternoon, though, most of them will have fizzled away and it will be a mostly dry
01:12end of the day with sunny spells here once again.
01:14But a slight change in our temperatures, a degree or two down for many areas.
01:18Highs reaching around 24 to 25 degrees Celsius in the south, but still that fresher air across
01:24the north.
01:24Highs reaching between 17 to 19 degrees Celsius here.
01:28And even though there is some rain in the forecast, if we have a look at rainfall totals
01:33over 24 hours, you can see there's not really much rain.
01:36Even across northern areas where we'll see some heavier outbreaks through the course of
01:40the morning.
01:41And across the south where it has been very dry this summer, there's not really going
01:44to be enough rainfall to make much of a difference.
01:47So still very dry and it's likely going to remain that way in through the evening as well.
01:53We'll still see some showers filtering their way southwards, the odd heavy one, particularly
01:57across southern Scotland and northeast England, but still dry for many areas.
02:02Perhaps a bit more cloud around once again, but a few more clearer skies, especially across
02:06Scotland.
02:07So temperatures dipping away here.
02:08Some rural spots could get down to the mid-single figures.
02:11And overall, a slightly cooler night compared to the night previous.
02:16Then heading into Monday, some cloudy areas to start, mostly across parts of the west where
02:21it could be thick enough to produce some showers.
02:23By the afternoon, similarly, most of the showers will be easing away.
02:27So lots of dry weather still to come, some sunshine in places, but perhaps some thicker areas
02:32of cloud just towards the end of the day across Northern Ireland, northwest Wales, still
02:36producing some showers here.
02:38Temperatures beginning to creep back up again into next week, highs reaching around 27 degrees
02:43Celsius across the south.
02:44Northern Ireland and eastern parts of Scotland also seeing a slightly warmer day with highs
02:48reaching around 20 degrees Celsius here.
02:51And in the forecast for next week, there's still not a lot of rain and temperatures are
02:56going to be increasing day by day.
02:58At times we will see some low pressure systems towards the northwest, bringing a little bit more
03:02cloud and some outbreaks of rain here, mostly towards western Scotland and at times across
03:07northern areas of Northern Ireland.
03:09But otherwise, it's still a very dry picture.
03:12Not only that, but as high pressure starts to build towards the near continent, if we follow
03:16these winds round, we start to pick a bit more of a southerly up across the south.
03:20So that means we're going to drag in some warmer air and temperatures are going to be increasing
03:24day by day.
03:25And it looks likely that we will see the fourth heat wave of the summer.
