31 October - National Evening Forecast presented by Honor Criswick
Transcript
00:00Hello there, good evening and happy Halloween. If you are heading out trick or treating tonight,
00:05the good news is there should be lots of dry weather for the first part of the evening.
00:08We can't rule out some showers across the far north east of Scotland, also some scattered
00:13showers across many western areas, but most should see a dry first part of the evening
00:18with some clearer skies. Though it's going to turn gradually more unsettled through the
00:22course of the night, another heavy band of showers at first pushing into Wales, south
00:26west England pushing northwards into parts of Scotland and northern parts of England. Also
00:31parts of the south east, east Anglia can catch some heavy showers during the overnight period
00:35and it's going to be very blustery, particularly around any heavy downpours, but even around
00:40exposed coastal areas. It's still going to be quite breezy by the time we reach Saturday
00:43morning. With the cloud, the showers and the breezy weather, that should stop temperatures
00:48dropping too low. Many towns and cities across the south still in the low double digits, but
00:52perhaps a little bit of a chillier start across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern
00:56England.
00:57And here, it's going to be quite unsettled to start off the weekend. Heavy showers banding
01:03together to bring more persistent spells of rain, still very blustery, particularly across
01:08Scotland and Northern England, but these should clear by the time we reach the afternoon.
01:12So we will start to see some brighter weather and some sunshine, but mixed in there, there
01:16will be further showers, particularly across the south as we head into the afternoon, still
01:20bringing us a risk of hail and thunder. It's not going to be feeling quite as warm as it
01:24did this afternoon, but highs still reaching around 15 degrees Celsius in the south, around
01:3010 to 11 degrees elsewhere. Still very breezy through into the evening, and we're still going
01:37to see plenty of those showers. Some clearer skies for a time across central England, parts
01:42of the east and southeast, but they're soon being replaced by further cloud and more showery
01:46outbreaks, and that is very much the theme over the weekend. But still, once again, with
01:51cloud and some breezy weather, temperatures won't drop too low, though Saturday night could
01:55be a little bit chillier compared to what we see too tonight.
01:58So a bit of a chill in the air, particularly around any exposed areas, exposed to that keen
02:03westerly wind. Outbreaks of rain across East Anglia, Sussex and Kent eventually clearing
02:08through the course of the morning. And once again, some sunshine will start to redevelop,
02:12but it's really across western areas that we continue to see that risk of showers. Later
02:17on, across Northern Ireland too, we could start to see some longer spells of rain push through,
02:22and feeling that bit chillier for all. Highs on Sunday, only reaching around 12 to 13 degrees
02:27Celsius. Still very windy too on Sunday. Now, of course, for more updates on your day-to-day
