00:01Unfortunately, it's not great news looking at the weather forecast for the rest of today and this
00:05weekend if you're hoping for some significant rain in the south. It is going to be generally dry.
00:11There is, however, a weather system out in the Atlantic and some model runs earlier on in the
00:17week wanted to bring that across the UK through this weekend, but it looks like it's going to
00:22stay to the west of us for quite a while. Where we do have some rain at the moment is
00:26across more
00:27northern areas. We have some showery outbreaks, particularly across western parts of Scotland,
00:31but as we head into the afternoon we are going to see these showers becoming, well,
00:36more widespread across much of Scotland, parts of Northern Ireland, Northern England,
00:39even a few showers can't be ruled out for North Wales. Central southern parts of England and
00:44Wales will stay dry. There will be plenty of sunshine and it is still going to be quite warm
00:49here with temperatures peaking around 25, 26 Celsius, but just not as warm, not as hot as it was earlier
00:55on in the week. Further north, a fresher feel, temperatures if anything actually a little bit
01:00below average for some places here. Through the evening, more showers to come across northern
01:06parts. They perhaps will ease a little bit, so maybe won't be quite as heavy as the showers that
01:11we'll see through the daytime, but nonetheless there'll be a fair few of them becoming slightly
01:15more confined to just western parts of Scotland and some parts of northwest England,
01:19maybe western Northern Ireland, through the early hours of Saturday morning. Can't rule out a couple of
01:24showers for parts of East Anglia, maybe for Devon and Cornwall as well, but generally most places,
01:29eastern parts of Scotland, northeast England and central southern parts of England and Wales,
01:34having a dry night, with some clear skies, and we do have slightly fresher air across us now,
01:39and so temperatures for a fair few of us will be a fair bit lower than they have been through
01:43some
01:43recent nights, still holding up in the mid-teens across some parts of the southeast, but that's down
01:48a couple of degrees compared to recent nights, and across northern areas similar to what we've seen
01:53recently, or some places could get to low single figures perhaps. Then a few more showery bursts
01:59of rain to watch out for through Saturday, mainly around parts of Scotland, western areas initially
02:05perhaps feeding a bit further east through the day. They will become more confined to northern parts
02:10of Scotland later on. A few showers can't be ruled out for some parts of northern England,
02:14maybe a couple across some western, southwestern parts of England and Wales as well, but
02:19for many it is looking actually largely dry. Northern Ireland's looking largely dry, central
02:24southern parts particularly towards the east of England looking dry, with plenty of sunshine yet
02:29again. And temperatures similar to today, maybe a degree or so down, slightly fresher perhaps,
02:35but still warm with that sunshine in the south and southeast. Light winds here, meaning it's still
02:40going to be quite warm, even if across northern areas where there's more cloud and lower temperatures,
02:44there is a fresher feel for sure. As we look towards Sunday, and whilst it is going to be
02:50generally dry for most places, there is that weather system that I highlighted at the start.
02:55That's likely to bring more cloud and some rain across the Republic of Ireland, but some of that
03:00rain may just clip into parts of northern Ireland, parts of Wales, maybe southwest England as well,
03:05though not especially confident about how far eastwards this is going to progress. Still a few bursts of
03:10rain across the north of Scotland, but yes, most places having a largely dry day. And if anything,
03:16temperatures may be slightly higher than on Saturday. We're dragging in slightly warmer air,
03:20so 26, 27 Celsius across some parts of central southern England perhaps, and a greater chance of
03:26getting to the very high teens or low 20s across more northern areas as well. Now if you are after
03:32some
03:32rain, well there are signs of something a fair bit wetter coming our way as we go into next week.

03:38also see temperatures rising a bit further for a time on Monday, but yes, there are signs of
