00:00Good morning. Finally, a bit of sunshine out there today, particularly for north and western areas.
00:07There's a bit of cloud around across the east. That's as a result of a weather front still lingering across eastern areas.
00:12Some drizzle will come and go through the day, but for most of us, it's going to be a dry and bright day.
00:19The winds will be relatively light, so it should feel fairly pleasant, but we are into fresh air,
00:23so it's a slightly cooler day with temperatures just reaching the highest single figures.
00:28It's actually around average for the time of year, the figures you see here.
00:31There will be a few showers, though, across parts of northwestern Scotland in particular.
00:35Some of these could be fairly heavy. There's quite a brisk southwesterly wind as well.
00:41The stage is relatively settled overnight tonight as well. Clear skies remaining through this evening,
00:46but cloud will thicken from the west as the night goes on, with some pretty intense rain arriving in parts of northern Ireland,
00:52western Scotland, across northwestern areas of England at first as well.
00:56Now, ahead of that, temperatures will fall away quite widely below zero rurally,
01:01so we are expecting a frost quite widely across parts of central England as well as eastern England.
01:06Further west, though, after a cold start to the night, temperatures will rise as this rain spreads in,
01:11bringing with it a brisk southwesterly wind. Some heavy pulses of rain to come.
01:16The rain will move through much more quickly than it did over the weekend,
01:19but as the ground is well saturated, we are expecting some disruption from this rain,
01:23particularly across south Wales, southwestern England, the high ground in particular,
01:28where there's a risk of water on the roads as well as further flooding.
01:32The rain will push more eastwards as the afternoon goes on.
01:36As I said, it brings in brisk southwesterly winds. That's a warmer direction,
01:39so temperatures back up into double digits, 11 or 12 degrees quite widely, actually,
01:44across the north and the south. So a milder but wetter day to come on Wednesday
01:48after the final sunshine we'll see through today.
01:52It will all remain fairly unsettled through the rest of this week,
01:55so it is worth staying tuned to the forecast through the rest of this week,
