00:00We're only going into week four and once again, Brian Dable is having to answer questions about who his quarterback one is going to be.
00:08After one day, any thoughts on what you're going to do with quarterback moving forward?
00:13Yeah, we just watched the tape here while we're in the meetings with the players right now.
00:19You know, like I said yesterday, you know, in order to improve the passing game,
00:24and I'd say that was the number one thing we needed to improve from yesterday.
00:28You know, a collective, as a collective, everybody's got to be, you know, doing exactly the right stuff.
00:36So it's not all on one guy.
00:40You know, there's multiple reasons why, you know, certain plays didn't, you know, come out the way we wanted them to come out,
00:47and we'll continue to do that.
00:50So Russ remains the starter moving forward?
00:53Yeah, I mean, we're working through, you know, all personnel decisions,
00:57and we'll do that over the next few days.
00:59Hold on, so you're not saying Russ is the starter, right?
01:02You're saying you're still working through that?
01:03Yeah, we're doing what we normally do, which is, you know, watch the tape.
01:07We're just watching it with the players right now.
01:09So, you know, we'll have staff meetings after this, but we watch the – when we come in, we watch the tape.
01:18Offense, defense, kicking game as a staff, and then we go meet with the players.
01:21That's where we're at right now.
01:22Let me say what you normally do.
01:24Most Monday afternoons, you know who your quarterback's going to be the upcoming week.
01:27If everyone's healthy, though, it just seems a little different, your responses.
01:31Yeah, well, look, we're going through the tape right now.
01:33We're evaluating everything.
01:35So quarterback change is on the table.
01:37I'd say we're evaluating everything.
01:39There you have it.
01:40But his response or his lack of response tells me everything I need to know.
01:45Jackson Dart will more than likely, probably, allegedly, reportedly, maybe-ly, whatever, be the starting quarterback for this team from here on out or for here for the foreseeable future.
01:57I know people are going to be like, are you sure you can say that?
01:59You're the in-game emcee.
02:00You're the – I'm watching the same stuff everybody else is watching.
02:03I'm watching the same tape that Brian Dable and Mike Kafka is watching.
02:07I'm watching the same thing you guys, the 85,000 people at MetLife Stadium Sunday night was watching.
02:14There is a frustration.
02:15You see it on Brian Dable's face.
02:17I heard it at MetLife Stadium Sunday night.
02:21I feel the frustration.
02:22You see Malik Neighbors feel the frustration.
02:25This entire offense is frustrated because they have been stagnant two out of the three weeks of this football season.
02:31What we haven't seen or what hasn't been lived up to is the hype and the expectations of what we saw from this offense in the spring and in the summertime and damn sure in the preseason.
02:45So what him being noncommittal this time, again, about committing to Russ Wilson as a QB1 going into week four,
02:54him being noncommittal kind of tells me everything that I need to know and should tell you guys what you need to know as well.
03:02Again, the frustration on his face.
03:04He was noncommittal to Russell Wilson after the Commanders game week one, postgame.
03:10But that Monday Zoom, he committed to Russ to quiet all the noise going into that Cowboys week.
03:17He just opened the floodgates by not committing to Russell Wilson for whatever reason.
03:24They've watched the tape, y'all.
03:26The players are, yeah, he's like he said, we'll watch it with the players.
03:29But as a staff, they've watched this tape two to three times already.
03:33They've broken this thing down.
03:35And one thing that they're evaluating when it comes to making that decision to bringing in the rookie and having him the full-time starter.
03:44One, how did the offensive line hold up?
03:47Did they give Russell Wilson time to cook?
03:50Did they give him time to throw the football down the field, make his reads, keep this offense ahead of the chains,
03:56and more importantly, score points in the red zone?
04:00Two, can this rookie, do you think this rookie can play above any of the deficiencies of the offensive line?
04:12Do you feel as though that rookie can break a tackle, get his eyes down the field, and make a throw to Malik Neighbors or to Wondell Robinson?
04:20Can he connect and open up Darius Slayton?
04:22Can he get the ball to Theo Johnson across the middle?
04:25Can he check down to the running backs and have them get some sort of profit, make some sort of play off of a short throw to keep this team ahead of the chains?
04:38Because if so, you're okay as a staff with going through the growing pains of a rookie than going through the pains of a guy in his 14th year.
04:50We love Russell Wilson, love what he's done, love how he's been able to galvanize the offense, the franchise, get guys together with his leadership, the fellowship.
04:59Anything and everything that Russ is, he's lived up to the hype, but when you're a head coach and you got the frustrations on your face and you got the media, you feel it all on you.
05:09You feel like you're staring down the barrel of a gun and you understand whether you're in the hot seat, you hear the fan base, you heard the fire tables, you hear the we want Jackson darts.
05:20You're going to take a look internally and say, you know what, I've got a defense that can keep us in the game.
05:26Defense isn't perfect, but it was still a one possession ball game throughout the course of the majority of the football game.
05:33And then when you're down, what, 13 points and you're going down to score, did Russell Wilson in the red zone, did he cost you points?
05:44Now you ran a draw and a read option with a guy going to his 14th year, the play call could have been right before the wrong personnel.
05:55So when you're watching that tape and you look at it and you're like, why do we call, why do we call a draw?
06:04Do you feel as though that play would have had success with Jackson Dart back there?
06:10These are the questions that this coaching staff, this offensive coaching staff is having to answer internally with conversations within themselves.
06:19And I don't think they'd be, they wouldn't have Jackson Dart dressed as quarterback too and throwing him in the game for spot moments and plays if they didn't, if they weren't trying to get this kid ready for whenever.
06:31That whenever might be this Sunday against the Chargers at 1 p.m.
06:35But week four, and we're back to talking about who's the quarterback one again, you might have to go with the rookie.
