00:00All right, let's talk about some of these New York football storylines,
00:03but we're going to put a little twist in it.
00:04We're talking about New York with the former Eagles, so this should be fun.
00:08Let's bring in Super Bowl chant wide receiver
00:10and the pride of Calhoun County, Alshon Jeffrey.
00:14What's going on, man?
00:16Oh, you got the Reggie White jersey on, too.
00:18I love it.
00:19I absolutely love it.
00:20Thanks for having me.
00:21I appreciate you guys having me, man.
00:23All right, you're trolling us right now, trolling all of New York.
00:26But y'all got it.
00:27Y'all got Saquon.
00:28You got the Super Bowl.
00:29Y'all got it.
00:31All right, man, let's just break down some of these New York storylines
00:34because, I mean, you played in the NFL.
00:37You had a lot of success.
00:38We got a whole thing going up here with this whole Russell Wilson,
00:42Jackson Dart situation.
00:44So as a former wide receiver one, like, what are your thoughts
00:48on the whole Russell Wilson situation with Jackson Dart waiting to kind of take over?
00:53I mean, I feel like it's great that having a better quarterback
00:57and somebody like Russ that he can learn from and just teach him the ropes
01:00and just for a rookie year, his rookie year, or however long,
01:03just teach him the little things like how to be a pro, like, on and off the field.
01:08So I think that's a great thing.
01:09I mean, obviously, they didn't win the first game, but it just takes with time.
01:13But just him just being there every day, just being his presence
01:15and just being there, somebody who's great, who's a Super Bowl champion,
01:18MVP of the Super Bowl.
01:19So it's like, I feel like it's perfect.
01:23But what's that like for, like, a premier wide receiver?
01:26Like, you've been a wide receiver once, so if you're Malik Nabors,
01:29like, kind of what's going through his mind?
01:31Like, are you preparing to catch passes from Russ?
01:33Are you preparing to catch passes from Jackson Dart?
01:36Like, how do you stay in a rhythm?
01:38How do you stay in the flow?
01:39I just feel like you just keep putting your head down, you know,
01:42just keep putting your head down.
01:43Like, no matter where he's at, if you go back to how you –
01:45I'm sure in high school, the quarterback said,
01:48no matter who the quarterback is, that's how I always look at it.
01:51So I'm sure the same goes for him.
01:53He's got to look at it.
01:53Just keep his head down.
01:54Just keep working.
01:55Like, whether it's Russ or it's Jackson, like, just keep –
01:58what he can do is control what he can control.
02:00Just keep being a great receiver and just make the plays when it happens.
02:04Because I feel like, you know, he said it –
02:05I believe in the interview that he had some opportunities
02:07that feel that he could take back or get better at.
02:10So just keep your head down.
02:12Just keep working, no matter who's that quarterback.
02:14Yeah, I love the fact that he took that accountability right there.
02:1612 targets, 5 catches.
02:18And he said he was upset with himself watching that tape
02:21because he felt like he left some money out there on the field,
02:23out on the table, not high-pointing some balls.
02:26And he kind of broke it down.
02:27I was right there when he did that media availability.
02:30And I haven't seen that transparency from him.
02:32So it shows, like, you know, he's maturing and he's growing.
02:35But when we talk about, like, quarterbacks coming into the league,
02:38the Giants traded back up into the first round to grab Jackson Dart.
02:43So you're a former Chicago Bear.
02:46You see Caleb Williams and how he came in day one.
02:50He was QB1.
02:51Hasn't really lived up to that hype just yet.
02:53But on the other hand, you've got guys like C.J. Stroud,
02:56Jaden Daniels, Bo Nix.
02:58They all came in and looked pretty much QB1 ready for the NFL.
03:02So where do you stand now in the whole debate
03:06where if a quarterback needs to sit a year or not
03:09in terms of this new NFL?
03:12I just think that it's just the culture.
03:13Also, you know, some of those quarterbacks,
03:15they have culture and for this veteran players and leadership
03:18that you could just be plug and play
03:19and be ready to go into the right situation.
03:22So I feel like no matter who's that quarterback,
03:25I mean, whatever situation, it's just that the culture
03:27and some everybody's situation just plays out differently,
03:32whether you've got to sit away or play right away.
03:34But also, ultimately, just like coaches being around veterans
03:37and just from the top was the head, whoever the head in the organization,
03:42like the upstairs, the front office, all those things kind of matter
03:45and it trickles down and so forth and so on.
03:48So it's just that everybody's situation is going to be different.
03:51But one thing that I feel like all quarterbacks can do is control
03:55what they can control and just keep getting better
03:56and improving when your time comes.
03:58Just make the best of it.
04:00Going back to Malik Nabors, he took a lot of heat last year
04:03and again this year as well.
04:06Week one, he had the whole what he called a natural bitch face
04:09like sitting there.
04:10It blow up, bro.
04:11It's New York, man.
04:12These things are going to blow up.
04:13It's absolutely crazy.
04:14But you've been passionate about wanting the football.
04:18Do you feel like Malik Nabors' passion,
04:19these moments are being taken out of context?
04:23I think, yeah, definitely.
04:24I mean, like just being judged off his body language
04:27because like I said, at the end of the game
04:29and his interviews, he broke down everything about like
04:32he got 12 targets.
04:34So it's just that more he could be more frustrated with himself
04:36than anything could not be did he get open
04:39or did he get the ball thrown?
04:40It could be like, yo, I should have made that play
04:41just being in his head and just this thing about plays
04:44he should have made or how he could affect the game.
04:46And that's just overall what he could be
04:48just playing in one play at a time
04:49and just trying to get past it
04:51but also still stuck in the moment
04:52and thinking about like what he could have done
04:55or that situation.
04:56So it's just human, just human nature.
04:58And I'm sure he'll work on it
05:00but at the same time, I don't believe that
05:01if it's body language, I feel like just don't
05:03take too heat in
05:05because he's just putting the pressure
05:06that's the competitive nature in himself
05:07and being him.
05:09Do you have any moments from your career
05:11where you blew up on the sideline?
05:13You had a I want the ball moment.
05:16I feel like we played the Chargers in San Diego
05:20and I think Jason Perrette, me and him
05:22talking about all the time, he had a pick six
05:24and I feel like me and the coaching staff
05:26and I was telling him that, yo, he's been sitting
05:27he's going to sit on this route
05:28like, so the next play what we did
05:30was just run the goal ball
05:31and I'm like, I told you like
05:33it's been there the whole night
05:34so it wasn't nothing too crazy
05:36we just went over there
05:37and just said what I said to the coach
05:38and the next play he called the play
05:39and I mean, everything all worked out
05:41so it just happened
05:42it's just part of the game.
05:44Another wide receiver in New York
05:45that's doing his thing
05:46Garrett Wilson
05:47he had a touchdown against the Steelers
05:49in that first matchup
05:51it's between Malik Neighbors
05:52and Garrett Wilson
05:54I feel like we got two
05:55of top 10 receivers in New York
05:59so where do you rank
06:00Neighbors and Wilson
06:02in your wide receiver list?
06:05I feel like it's so many
06:06explosive wide receivers
06:07that's in the league right now
06:09it's hard to like
06:10put one above the other
06:11because I feel like
06:12every other day
06:13somebody's doing something spectacular
06:14and I feel like
06:15it's just becoming normal
06:16but they definitely are
06:17two of the top receivers
06:18young receivers
06:19that's on the rise
06:20and give them more opportunity
06:22the more you get to see
06:23I feel like they both
06:24going to be special
06:25and just as long as
06:26they stay healthy
06:26and the sky's the limit
06:27for both of those guys
06:28I feel like I can't really
06:29put those one above each other
06:30because they
06:30if they was on my team
06:32I feel like they both
06:33will be 1As or 1B
06:34so it's back and forth
06:36they're both great receivers
06:37I like it
06:38spoken like a true politician
06:39man
06:39you about to be mayor
06:40of Calhoun County
06:41one day
06:42talking like that

06:55I'm going with Josh Allen
06:57I feel that
06:58you know
06:58even though Justin Fields
07:01played pretty well
07:02last game
07:02and the Jets played
07:03pretty well too
07:03going against the Steelers
07:04but I'm just
07:05Josh Allen
07:06you can't go against that
07:07and they just
07:08you know
07:08MVP
07:09you can't go against that
07:10Josh Allen
07:11seems like a sure thing
07:12man
07:12we got Cowboys
07:13Giants
07:14you probably don't even care
07:15who wins this game
07:16but who you got
07:17and why
07:17I'm going with New York City
07:20you know
07:20so I'm going to go
07:21with the Giants
07:23and plus
07:25you know
07:25I can't root for the Cowboys
07:27so I just hope
07:28they're in our division
07:28that you know
07:29the Giants
07:29y'all take care of business
07:30so I'm going to go with that
07:32AJ with the good juju
07:33for the city
07:34hey man
07:35you come on up man
07:36you can wear the jersey
07:37you eat for free
07:38they win this game
07:39it's because of your good juju
07:40we can use that
07:41alright
07:42last one
07:43your Eagles
07:44got a Super Bowl rematch
07:45versus the Chiefs
07:46this Sunday
07:47what do you like
07:49about this game
07:50I know who you're going to pick
07:51but what are you watching
07:52for this game
07:53I just feel like
07:54the little things
07:55who control the line of scrimmage
07:57that's where the balls down to
07:58who's the most disciplined team
08:00like in the front seven
08:02like it's more disciplined
08:03obviously the back end
08:04got to do their job
08:04on defense
08:05it's going to be
08:05a game of chess
08:07so
08:07I feel like
08:09whoever controls
08:09the line of scrimmage
08:10is going to come out on top
08:11like obviously
08:12respect to the Chiefs
08:13and you know
08:13I'm rolling with the Eagles
08:14but
08:15I feel like the front seven
08:16that's what I'm looking for
08:17to the D-line
08:18versus
08:18and Jalen
08:19get to come back
08:20and play again
08:21so
08:21I'm excited
08:22isn't it crazy
08:24how like
08:25when we were receivers
08:26like young receivers
08:27we never really paid attention
08:28to the front seven
08:29but now after playing professionally
08:30we realize how important
08:32like the trenches are
08:34to the game
08:34and for our success
08:36it's just absolutely crazy man
08:37I mean I feel like
08:39that just
08:39as what you were saying
08:41with the quarterbacks too
08:42that all plays hand in hand
08:43with a young quarterback
08:44and those men right away
08:45that you know
08:46the O-line
08:46got to do their job
08:47man you know
08:48so
08:48I feel like
08:50I'm not too
08:51too bad
08:52I'm too harsh
08:53on the quarterbacks
08:54because also
08:54they got to depend
08:55on the O-line
08:55and if you're not
08:56you know
08:56if they're not doing their job
08:57like no matter what your route was
08:59you could have been killed
09:00an all pro
09:01cornerback
09:02no matter what he did
09:03no matter what you did
09:05you didn't get the ball
