00:00You know, I really don't care what all the social media head coaches and offensive coordinators are saying,
00:05but I think that Russell Wilson is going to be the starter for week two.
00:09This whole viral clip of Brian Dable allegedly not committing to Russell Wilson being quarterback one,
00:15I think was taken out of context.
00:18Will you consider starting Jackson next week?
00:22Yeah, look, we're going to get home, Pat.
00:24We're going to look at our game.
00:27Collectively, we all got to do better.
00:29Two more, two more.
00:31Is it safe to say that Russell is the latest starter?
00:34Yes, I mean, we're just right here after the game.
00:38I got confidence.
00:39We got to do better around overall.
00:41Coaches, players, around everybody.
00:42So, you know, we'll get focused and ready to go on Dallas.
00:46Go ahead, Brian.
00:47In fairness, you're not answering this.
00:49It sounds like you're not answering.
00:50Well, we're talking about after every game.
00:53I got confidence in Russ.
00:54So, we're going to go back.
00:56We'll evaluate the tape.
00:56But this game isn't on Russell Wilson.
01:01It's not on Russell Wilson.
01:03I'm going to make that clear.
01:04So, I have confidence in Russ.
01:06We got to do a better job all the way around.
01:08Ah, this is what we did not want in week one or just week anything this year.
01:15Us trying to decipher the whole Wilson, Dart, QB1, QB2 situation.
01:20Now, I don't think Dable was being non-committal with his answer.
01:24I think he was being cautious.
01:26He said that he did believe in Russ and that Russ wasn't the only one who didn't play well enough to win that game.
01:32But my man hadn't even watched the tape yet to give any real details or evaluate the quarterback's play.
01:38Plus, I don't think he's trying to set that precedent of answering that question week in and week out after any sort of loss or even a win when Russ doesn't cook.
01:49That's dangerous territory you could be walking yourself into for five months or five or plus months.
01:55You've committed to Russ and what he's brought to that team, that energy, that aura that we've heard everybody talk about.
02:01So, in my opinion, the non-answer means that they're sticking to the plan and Russell Wilson is the starter week two.
02:08But they have to figure out how they're going to protect this man better.
02:12Because whether it be getting the ball out faster or having him use his legs a little more, I know that's not his game.
02:19But just getting out of that pocket faster if it does collapse.
02:22It doesn't matter who's that quarterback because if you can't protect them, you're not getting anything out of them.
02:28We've seen this before.
02:30And do you really want to throw a rookie quarterback into all that chaos that we saw last Sunday?
02:36But let's throw a hypothetical out there.
02:39Let's say the offensive line does continue to struggle.
02:42You have to answer yourself two questions as a head coach and a coordinator before throwing out Jackson Dart or any young quarterback out there.
02:50Can he protect himself with his brain?
02:53And can he protect himself athletically?
02:55Meaning, can he get himself out of a bad situation by knowing where to go with the football before the pocket collapses?
03:01Or if there's some sort of free blitzer coming off the edge.
03:04And if someone does get beat, can he get himself out of the pocket to buy time or even scramble for positive yardage?
03:11This ain't fantasy football, y'all.
03:13You can't just start and sit quarterbacks each week because of a bad outing.
03:17Now, I do think the Giants are going to stay on course with their plan of having packages and plays for Jackson Dart.
03:24But you're not about to make a switch after one game because social media said so.
