00:00How's everybody doing? Good, how are you? Good, so I just played these guys a couple weeks ago.
00:08So you watch, obviously, the entire season, but you watch your game that you just played,
00:14and obviously the Minnesota game in which Jalen Hurts has 158.3 quarterback rating, so
00:23there goes that one, talking about him. Both receivers have 300 yards together, so I know
00:31they weren't, you know, look, it's an explosive offense. I said that the first time we played them,
00:36and it showed up in the Minnesota game against a really good defense, so they have a perfect
00:41quarterback rating. How many guys that can do that? Jalen certainly did. Defense and an interception
00:49for a touchdown. Good defense, a lot of good players. Jalen will be back, Carter, who's a problem
00:59to block, which wasn't there the first game. So it'll be a challenge to go to their place
01:06and play them another division game. In terms of our guys, these are the players that will
01:13not practice. They won't practice today. We'll see where they are on a day-to-day, if you will,
01:19Burns, Holland, Debo, and Golston. Burns, Holland, Debo, and Golston. And then we will open up
01:31Graham's window today.
01:35Are you, is there any concern at all, any of those four that aren't practicing or long-term
01:40things? Or are you more like day-to-day, week-to-week? No, like IR or those guys? No, no.
01:49You didn't say Slayton, does that mean he'll be proud to him today? He will be.
01:53Yep.
01:55Where do you stand at the kicker position?
02:01Where do I stand at?
02:03Yeah, where do you stand with the kicker position?
02:05We're opening up Graham's window. So, hopefully.
02:07So you intend for him to be able to kick this week?
02:09We'll see. That's why we're opening up his window.
02:12But I'm asking, do you have an open competition?
02:13If Graham's ready to go, Graham will be the kicker.
02:18How hard is it to have faith in him? Is it twice in the past two seasons where he's
02:21gotten injured either during or before a game? How do you get yourself to feel comfortable
02:25that if you put him out there on Sunday, he's going to be able to do the job?
02:28Yeah, I'd say we'll go through the week here, Dan, and it looks good.
02:33And hopefully he'll be out there. But he's done a good job for us.
02:38Couldn't do anything about the injury that he had.
02:40But it's a track record, isn't it? It's not like he's an older player.
02:43It's not like he had one office.
02:46Yeah, if he's ready to play and he goes through practice and he feels good,
02:49then he'll be the kicker.
02:51If he's healthy and active as a kicker, do you still have to have Kuhl on the roster for that game?
02:56Yeah, I'd say let's see how he does these next couple days here, Pat.
03:03But he's a kicker. He's been working. We're bringing him up for a reason.
03:08Hopefully he's progressing in the right direction.
03:12He is progressing in the right direction.
03:14So we'll see a couple days here how it goes and then make a decision what we need to do.
03:18So if Graham is activated, not to put words in your mouth,
03:23it sounds like you're leaning towards him, would not be interested?
03:25Yeah, I'd say today's Wednesday. Let's see how it looks on Friday after practice.
03:31What has Graham been able to do the last couple weeks?
03:34Working with the trainers.
03:36So has he been able to go outside and kick?
03:38Yeah, he does the stuff that he needs to do to be with the trainers.
03:41And I think he's ready to go.
03:44So it'll be good to have him out here.
03:45Have you seen him kick a free goal yet?
03:48I'll see today. I mean, the kickers have been, or the trainers have been working with him.
03:52So, again, I would say this is not like a defensive back or receiver.
03:57You know, they've been working with him.
03:58They feel comfortable about what he's been doing.
04:01That's why we're opening his window.
04:03You guys haven't added wide receivers since Malik went down.
04:08I'm just curious, why not bring anybody in?
04:12Well, I think LJ's done a good job.
04:13We brought him up.
04:15Wondell's really, you know, we've asked Wondell to do a lot of different things,
04:20not just play where he's, you know, played the last few years more slot related.
04:25He's done a lot of different things, and he's really done a nice job for us.
04:28You know, those guys have done a good job, and we've used, you know, more tight ends.
04:33You know, we've probably used more tight ends than we have in the past few years,
04:38and they've done a nice job for us.
04:40So spreading the ball around, you know, we'll see what happens here.
04:47Dave, what have you seen with Saquon, his yards per carrier,
04:51is down considerably from a year ago?
04:54I see him as one of the most talented backs in the league.
04:58Explosive, dynamic.
05:01I think he's a horrible player.
05:04If Debo can't go, what's your confidence level in Tay Banks?
05:09Yeah, he'll do everything he can to be as ready as he can be.
05:14Coaches will work with him.
05:17Get all those decisions, who can go, who can't go.
05:19Saying it on Wednesday, that'll be decided on Friday.
05:22So, you know, Tay's working hard, doing everything he can.
05:26Does he remain next in line with that spot if Paulson can't play?
05:30Yeah, again, we'll see where Paulson is.
05:32I'm not going to, we'll see where Paulson is.
05:36But I tell you, he's got to be ready to play.
05:38They all do.
05:39You didn't mention Jackson.
05:40Obviously, it looked like he had a little bit of an ankle on the game on Sunday.
05:43Good to go.
05:44What does it say about him that he's had a couple injuries the last couple games?
05:50It seems like when Wednesday rolls around, he's out here.
05:54You're downplaying it.
05:56He's downplaying it.
05:57I mean, is there something that you could do?
05:59I'd just say he's got a lot of good toughness.
06:03The good ones that I've been around are usually the toughest ones, too,
06:07both mentally and physically on the team.
06:12He's a tough guy.
06:14It's unusual to play a team twice in such a short period of time.
06:18Yeah.
06:18He's a rookie quarterback.
06:20How do you think he'll handle that,
06:22and do you think the Eagles will have a better understanding of him now?
06:25Again, I got a tremendous amount of respect for Vic.
06:28He's done a great job in this league for a long time.
06:30I can't answer what he would do or what he wouldn't do.
06:32You watch your game.
06:33You see how they played you.
06:34But Carter's back, does that make a difference relative to the scheme
06:38and what they want to do?
06:39I don't know.
06:40I just know Vic's a challenging coordinator to game plan against.
06:45Again, Jackson's played a good amount of football in his career.
06:50These last four weeks, he's got a routine down,
06:53and we do everything we can do to get him ready to play.
06:56I think that is like an offensive coach.
06:59What's your involvement in the defense during the week, during the games?
07:02Yeah, well, I know what they're calling.
07:05I know the plays.
07:07I listen to them.
07:09If I see something, I'll give it to them.
07:10But I want to let those guys do their job.
07:13I have a trust in Shane, the defensive staff.
07:15They work extremely hard to try to do the things we need to do.
07:18I thought there's been a lot of improvement the last few weeks.
07:20So I see something, I watch tape with them after practice,
07:26go through the practice, meet with those guys on what they're deciding to do,
07:30give them my two cents, but let them do their job.
07:34Is it fair to say you're more hands-on in the offensive game planning,
07:37that process on Monday?
07:40I meet with all three phases, Dan.
07:43Do I spend quite a bit of time with the offensive guys?
07:46Yes, certainly.
07:47But then I go and spend time with the defense,
07:50and then I go and spend time with Gobi and watch all the games,
07:55tell them what I see, ask them what they see,
07:58and have good communication in that regard.
08:00With the duel, obviously the sack numbers aren't where they are,
08:02but he's still getting pressure to the quarterback.
08:05So I guess seven games,
08:06how are you assessing the way he's brought on the field so far?
08:09I'm just glad he's on our football team.
08:10I'm not going to get into seven games.
08:13He's a good football player for us.
08:17He's productive in rushing the passer.
08:19He's good at setting the edges.
08:21He's a good player for us.
08:23Carter and Scadaboo limited at all?
08:25Absolutely.
08:27No, they're gone.
08:28Yeah.
08:29I would imagine you would agree that you would say that you're an aggressive head coach
08:34and you have an aggressive mindset.
08:36Does that – is your defensive coordinator of the same ilk, do you think?
08:41You know, is it important for you to be in a synergy with him
08:43as far as having an aggressive mindset?
08:46Yeah.
08:46Again, each week we sit down and these are the keys to this game.
08:52This is kind of how I see it.
08:53This is how you see it.
08:54I do the same thing with Gaff.
08:55I do the same thing with Gobi.
08:58Everybody's involved in it.
09:00All the defensive coaches, all the offensive coaches,
09:02try to work together.
09:03And then come up with the best plan we can
09:07and go out there and play as good and coach as good as we can.
09:09Do you think the more aggressive –
09:13you know, there's a talk about how aggressive your defense was
09:17in the fourth quarter and the play calls.
09:19Do you think that had a bearing on getting up 33 points
09:23or was it more about what happened on the field with the players?
09:26Yeah, I would just say this, Paul.
09:27Like I said the other day, everybody can be better.
09:30Not just one unit, not just one position,
09:31not just one good coach, everybody can be better.
09:35During the game – go ahead.
09:37During the game, how much are you able to give suggestions to him
09:41or specify specific –
09:43because I think what a lot of people are saying is on that
09:45when you decide to go rush three and drop eight, is that your call?
09:51Are you giving your input there?
09:52Like how does that kind of work in the moment?
09:54Yeah, well, I would say if you're on a headset and you're calling plays
09:57and it happens pretty quickly, that was after, you know,
10:01we scored a touchdown.
10:02Those are conversations we've had after Dallas,
10:06which was a completely different defense.
10:07They actually ran the same play at the end of the half
10:09that we were – you know, we worked on, to be honest with you.
10:14So we had two robbers there.
10:16They made a nice catch.
10:18I have confidence in Shane.
10:19I have confidence in the offensive staff.
10:21I'm moving on to Philadelphia.
