Doctor Dorothy William Chandler who was shot and wounded in an attempted robbery near her Champ Fleurs home in the wee hours of Saturday morning last remains in critical condition- while police search for a second suspect involved in the shooting.

00:06after she and her husband were ambushed by two armed assailants along Daniel Drive in Champhre early Saturday morning.
00:14Investigators told TV6 News that robbery remains the main motive for the shooting, but they continue to pursue other possible leads.
00:21Dr. Williams Chandler, a general surgeon, was returning to her home after leaving a charity event
00:26when a Toyota RAV4's path was blocked by armed assailants in a Nissan 80 wagon.
00:32The armed men came out of the vehicle and opened the fire on the doctor,
00:35who was shot six times, once to the left eye and five times in the stomach.
00:40An off-duty prison officer was behind the assailant's vehicle, stopped,
00:45and told police one of the men pointed their firearm at him,
00:48and in so doing, he drew his licensed firearm to defend himself.
00:51He shot one of the robbers dead, who was later identified as Adam Wheeler from Santa Cruz,
00:57while the second suspect, who also appeared to be wounded, managed to make his escape in the getaway vehicle.
01:03Investigators say that within the next 24 hours, they expect to obtain the name of the second suspect,
01:08wanted for the shooting.
01:10Sources said that Dr. Chandler Williams had a quantity of cash in the vehicle and was the target of the robbers.
01:15Sources said that the doctor is expected to undergo another major surgery on Thursday
01:19to treat with a life-threatening head wound.
