One man is in police custody. in connection with Tobago's first homicide for the new year.

The victim, Jamaille Fraser, was gunned down, at his home in Signal Hill on Friday night. The suspect was arrested in Scarborough on Saturday morning.

00:00Police say around 10.34 p.m. on Friday, a resident returned home to Cornel Rock Road, Signal Hill,
00:08when he discovered the body of a man lying motionless on the ground outside the nearby residence.
00:14The man, clad in a white vest and a short pants, was unresponsive.
00:19Checks were made and it was confirmed he was dead.
00:22Police were immediately contacted and responded to the scene where they identified the victim as 25-year-old Jamali Fraser.
00:31Officers observed what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
00:34The scene was processed by Acting Corporal Creed and Police Constable Macmillan of the Crime Scene Unit,
00:41while a District Medical Officer of Health later ordered the body removed to the scarpa mortuary.
00:47An autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of death.
00:52Police also confirmed that Fraser was one of four men charged in August last year in connection with a robbery at Cadd's supermarket.
01:02One suspect has since been taken into custody as investigations continue.
