00:06morning. Around 4 a.m., officers from the Northeastern Division, as well as personnel
00:11from the San Juan Fire Station, responded to a report of a fire at the back of a residence
00:16located along Ciprian Avenue Extension. After extinguishing the blaze, authorities found
00:22the remains of a human body in a section of burnt vegetation. Initial observation suggests
00:27the deceased is a man of African descent, slim build, and believed to be in his 30s.
00:33The body showed significant burns, particularly around the torso. A district medical officer
00:38visited the scene and gave certain directives before the body was taken to the forensic science
00:43sentence in James for an autopsy pending formal identification. Investigations are ongoing
00:50under the supervision of woman corporal Thompson. A firearm and several rounds of ammunition
00:56were seized during an intelligence-led police operation conducted in ARIMA on Wednesday.
01:01The operation took place between 10 p.m. and midnight. It was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner
01:06Police Rishi Singh, along with Senior Superintendent Mayard Wilson, Superintendent Guy Allen, Assistant
01:13Superintendent Pitt, Assistant Superintendent A. Black Singh, and Inspector Gaida. The operation
01:19involved officers from the ARIMA Intelligence and Operations Unit and was directly supervised by
01:23Sergeant Ramai. Based on information received, officers proceeded to a bushy area near Banana
01:29Tree at a retreat extension. There they discovered a black plastic bag containing a firearm. Upon examination
01:35by P.C. Neil, the object was confirmed to be a Ruger model loaded with a magazine that contained
01:4114 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The firearm and ammunition were seized and the area was also checked for suspicious
01:48vehicles during the course of the operation. No incidents were reported during the exercise and P.C.
01:53Neil is continuing inquiries. Two men from Kearney were arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly assaulting a
02:00female police officer and obstructing law enforcement duties at the Chagones District Health Facility. According to police
02:07reports, around 10.15 p.m., WPC Francis of the Kanupia Police Station was assisting a victim of the health facility when the
02:15individual pointed out two suspects allegedly involved in an early assault. After making certain statements
02:21in their presence, WPC Francis approached the man, identified herself as a police officer, informed them
02:27of the assault report under investigation and cautioned them. Both suspects reportedly became aggressive and
02:33made insulting remarks. One of them allegedly grabbed WPC Francis' hand and pushed her. With the assistance of
02:40P.C. Ramsrup, WPC Francis attempted to arrest him, but he was blocked by the second suspect who placed
02:47himself between the officers and the first suspect. Both men were arrested at the scene and medically examined.
02:53A report was made to Corporal Augustus, who arrived shortly afterward. The suspects were taken to the
02:59Canupia Police Station for further inquiries.
