Hours after police shot and killed three bandits in Cunupia on Tuesday night, another man fell to police bullets in Laventille when he was caught chopping another man.

00:00Police said that around 3 p.m. today, they were alerted by residents of Eastern Corrie-Lamatul
00:05that a man was being beaten while being held against his will, and he was heard screaming and begging for his life.
00:11A team of officers from the Portisville Indivisional Task Force responded and saw 22-year-old Shakim Fabi Niki
00:18chopping a man while another man was seen holding him.
00:21Police said that they called on Niki to drop the cutlass, but instead he reached into his waist and pulled out a gun.
00:28Police said that they then opened fire on Niki.
00:31The other man who was on the scene quickly ran off.
00:34Police said that they then took Niki and the victim to the Portisville General Hospital
00:38where Niki, also known to police as a priority offender, was pronounced dead on arrival.
00:44Police said that the chopping victim remains in stable but critical condition at hospital.
00:49Police said that while they were able to speak briefly to the victim on their way to the hospital,
00:54he told officers that he lived in Manzanilla and he came to Portisville that afternoon
00:58to purchase a laptop that he had seen advertised on the Facebook marketplace.
01:03The man said that when he got to the agreed-upon meeting point in Eastern Corrie-Lamatul,
01:08near to the Success Lamatul Secondary School, he was met by the suspect and another man.
01:14All three men then made their way to a pink-colored house in the area where they attempted to rob the Manzanilla man.
01:21Police said that when the man tried to leave, they held him against his will.
01:26The man then attempted to fight back which led to Niki chopping him while the other man was holding him down.
01:31The chopping only ended when the police arrived.
