00:00Well, I want to comment firstly on the behavior thus far, and it has been exceptional.
00:05All the reports that I have gotten, Tobago is really one of the safest little islands
00:09I know right now.
00:10The extra support operational that was brought into the island, we're able to contain the
00:14crowd because TGPS has been accustomed to large events management for a number of years.
00:19And I would want to use the Tobago model to now mirror it against what we have for Carnival
00:24A blanket of safety in Tobago, as over 100 security forces are on the ground, assisting
00:32in operations in Tobago.
00:34Thousands participated in Saturday's juve celebrations in Scarborough, with only minor incidents reported.
00:42An estimated 15,000 revelers took to the streets of Scarborough.
00:47Commissioner Alistair Guevara took time to also comment on the Wednesday night fatal
00:54police shooting of Hassani Bob of Patience Hill, Tobago.
00:59I would like to reiterate previous questions that I have made to members of the public.
01:02Please, when confronting with my officers, do not engage them.
01:07Surrender peacefully and your outcome will be fine.
01:10Guevara is further cautioning citizens to put down all illegal weapons.
01:16The further warning is, do not arm yourselves whatsoever, right?
01:20Put down the illegal weapons.
01:23Get rid of them.
01:24I understand the recent incident.
01:27The police would have recovered a TGPS firearm that was taken in a robbery.
01:31They see the level of criminality we have gotten to in this country, and I want an old person
01:34to do not go there with my officers.
01:37We are operationally ready to treat any and all incidents.
