00:00This season on Project Runway Canada...
00:03You're all gonna die.
00:0514 of the country's hottest new designers will compete in the biggest fashion medal of their lives.
00:11Don't f***ing lie to me.
00:13You're in your own f***ing vicious universe.
00:14I find that really hard to believe.
00:16I could hurt her.
00:17Oh yeah.
00:18Each week they will face a new design challenge...
00:21Hello designers!
00:23...and be judged on the runway.
00:25I love it!
00:26It's all wrong.
00:27Nothing passes my eye.
00:28It's a bit of a mess.
00:29I'm sorry, you just don't measure up.
00:32And the games begin.
00:36Ready for the runway?
00:5014 designers, but only one can win.
00:53On the runway.
00:54On the runway.
00:55On the runway.
00:56Yeah.
00:57Tempers will flare.
00:58Hemlines will fly.
01:00On the runway.
01:01On the runway.
01:02Yeah.
01:03Yeah.
01:04Yeah.
01:05Yeah.
01:06Yeah.
01:07Time for the show designers.
01:20Time for the show designers.
01:21Because fashion isn't always pretty.
01:27My name is Camille Prince.
01:36I'm 28 years old and I'm from Toronto, Ontario.
01:40My name is Camille Prince, I'm 28 years old and I'm from Toronto, Ontario.
01:53I studied at George Brown College and then just started my own label called Dutch Blonde.
01:58People that know me best would probably say that I'm really, really positive.
02:03Hello!
02:04And just always having a good attitude, which is the same as positive.
02:13Wow!
02:17Hi!
02:18I would say people say I'm really sort of outgoing.
02:21Wow, I'm crazy! Please give me money.
02:24Any exposure is good exposure, so people are going to get to see what I can do on the show.
02:28Right now, I work in retail, but I would like to have my own line.
02:32Gotta dream big. Get big or go home.
02:35Hello!
02:37My favorite saying is, hey, hey, hey.
02:40Hey, hey, hey.
02:41When it comes to design, I'm really good at doing like very avant-garde even where I like to do the bigger the better, the more the better.
02:47Just keep adding on and just have fun.
02:50I am new to fashion and I have a fresh take on things, so I think I will be able to make you guys say, wow.
02:57Hello!
03:01Oh, Christy, hi!
03:04You're colorful.
03:05Hi!
03:06Jason.
03:07Hi, Jason.
03:08How's it going?
03:13Is your hair rolled under? Is it cut?
03:16Oh, it's rolled under. It's like a French twist.
03:18You can do my hair.
03:20Oh, yeah.
03:22Do it.
03:23Hello.
03:24Hello.
03:25Hi.
03:26Hi.
03:27My name is Jacqueline Murray and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
03:29Winnipeg, Manitoba, prairie girl.
03:32Jacqueline.
03:33Jacqueline, hi.
03:34I'm very competitive.
03:35Board games, you know, fighting over who gets the last egg roll, everything, everything.
03:41I have a degree from Parsons in New York City.
03:44If you can work through the one-year program at Parsons, you can do anything.
04:05My name is Daniel Frangela and I'm from Windsor, Ontario.
04:08I did internships at Gruppo Alias for Gianni Versace.
04:13I began working for the Italian Gruppo Ratti where I handled the textiles for Ungaro and Balenciaga.
04:18I think I'm a little bit more seasoned.
04:20I think I've been around a little bit longer than the other 13 people who are in this competition.
04:30After a seven-year battle with cancer and after I developed skin ulcers on my legs, I needed a break away from my career.
04:38I'm looking at the competition as sort of being a rebirth, a reintroduction back into the world of fashion.
04:47Hey, you guys, come out here.
04:48What, what?
04:49There's a card downstairs.
04:50Is there?
04:51Guys, come on, come on.
04:53You guys, come.
04:55Here's the drink.
04:56Ooh, cupcakes.
04:59Cupcakes.
05:00Is there a card here?
05:01Designers, welcome to your new home.
05:05Let's have a toast.
05:07Then it's time to rally, troops.
05:09Cars are waiting outside to take you to a famous Ottawa landmark.
05:13We'll meet you there, Iman and Brian.
05:15Woo!
05:18I think that we might be going to, like, the Parliament building.
05:22I don't know.
05:24That's the only one I can think of.
05:30My name is Kim Cathers.
05:31I am 29 years old and I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia.
05:35I started restyling vintage clothes.
05:38I would take them all apart and put them back together, chop them up, make new things.
05:43I like to push people's buttons.
05:44I'm awesome.
05:45I'm talented.
05:46I'm going to win this competition, obviously.
05:55My name is Christy Clayton.
05:57I'm 30 years old.
05:58Hello, Project Runway Canada.
06:00I started my own clothing company called Carnilove Clothing.
06:03Xanadu with Olivia Newton-John meets Ace Freely,
06:07the lead guitarist for KISS.
06:09I want to prove that I am an awesome designer to Project Runway Canada,
06:16to the country and to the world.
06:18Cheers, everybody!
06:22You're all going to die.
06:31We arrived at the Canadian War Museum and I was like, whoa.
06:38Remains of airplanes, tanks.
06:40It was an eye-opener for most of us.
06:42We came around the corner and Amon was standing there with Brian and like, I almost dropped dead in my shoes.
06:49Hello, everyone.
06:50And welcome to Project Runway Canada.
06:53Canada.
06:58Amon is Amon.
06:59Like, hello, international fashion superstar.
07:04And you see her in a fashion magazine and I watched for a season like a religion and I'm standing in front of her.
07:10It was so intense.
07:11Well, next to me is a very familiar face.
07:16Brian Bailey, the internationally renowned fashion designer.
07:21I am so stoked to work with Brian Bailey this year.
07:24I think he's an amazing designer.
07:26Seeing Brian Bailey in the museum for the first time was pretty exciting because I knew he'd be able to help me in the competition.
07:32And I was pretty excited because we'd been waiting all day to see him.
07:37Welcome, designers.
07:38Are you happy to be here?
07:40Good!
07:41The finalists of Project Runway Canada will show at Toronto Fashion Week.
07:49And the winner will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine.
07:54A professional portfolio photoshoot courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
07:58A runway to retail business mentorship at winners.
08:02And $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
08:07And now the real fashion battle begins.
08:12Behind me is a wall of camouflage fabrics.
08:16Some of them are camouflage from the military and some of them are animal prints from nature.
08:23You must create a groundbreaking garment that will defeat your opponent on the runway.
08:30Camouflage for me worked in with that femme fatale, hardcore, bitch type look, which I'm really into.
08:38It has a lot of attitude.
08:40Tomorrow you will show your creations here at the museum in front of a live audience.
08:48The winning design will be presented in the Canadian War Museum's camouflage exhibition this summer.
08:55Good luck. Ciao.
09:01Designers, you will have three minutes to cut your fabric.
09:05On my mark, designers.
09:08Get ready.
09:10Get set.
09:12Go!
09:13It was literally a battlefield.
09:18You have 14 very eager, very passionate, very hungry designers attacking a wall of innocent fabric.
09:26There's this crazy pink fabric.
09:29And as soon as I saw it, I thought of Christy.
09:31I was like, oh my god, they must have picked that fabric just for me.
09:34One minute.
09:35Time's up.
09:36Stop right now.
09:37Okay, designers.
09:38Follow me back to the workroom now.
09:39Let's go.
09:40Here we go.
09:41So follow me, designers.
09:42This is Project Runway's design room.
09:43Designers, find your workstations.
09:44Designers, find your workstations.
10:13Designers, find your name, is the model that you will be dressing for tomorrow on the runway.
10:20I think you've got a lot of work ahead of you.
10:22This is a boot camp.
10:23You need to work.
10:24You need to know that the heat is on now.
10:27I think everyone was excited but really nervous because it was actually happening.
10:32You have until one o'clock tonight.
10:35Good luck.
10:37Work hard.
10:38Somebody's going home tomorrow.
10:43The atmosphere in the workroom is pure concentration.
10:51The fun, the games, the goofing off is over.
11:02Creative control is the most important thing to me.
11:06I know my designs best.
11:07I know what works.
11:09My store is a reality.
11:10It's going to happen.
11:11I just need the money and the exposure and that's what's going to happen from this show.
11:19Is that time right?
11:20Hope so.
11:22Hmm.
11:24Seems to be going kind of fast.
11:26My name is Adejake Taiwo and I'm from Calgary, Alberta.
11:30I went to Ryerson University for fashion design.
11:32I just started professionally designing my own label called Alala.
11:36It's basically women's contemporary made out of traditional Nigerian materials which is where I'm originally from.
11:43The more I look at this material it makes me think of a cow on acid.
11:50My name is Jeffrey McKinnon.
11:54I'm 41.
11:56What brought me to Project Runway was I'm very good at what I do but nobody really knows who I am.
12:05It's time to shake things up a bit.
12:06Um.
12:09Camille.
12:11Yo.
12:12We need some positivity here.
12:14Don't even like a me right now.
12:16I'm sorry.
12:17You haven't said a single thing the whole night.
12:19I am just like sweating.
12:20I can't even see.
12:21Anxiety, you know, it's something that I've been working through for a while.
12:35I have two and a half hours to work on my design and I started to feel really kind of dizzy.
12:42I just needed to get some air.
12:51I was so focused on what I was doing that I had no idea and then I was like, where's Jacqueline?
12:58We're really kind of concerned.
13:00We're like, what's going on?
13:01It's kind of scary.
13:02Are you okay, buddy?
13:16Yeah.
13:18You're gonna be fine.
13:19I'm just having like an anxiety.
13:20Dad.
13:28This is so not cool.
13:29It's okay.
13:30It's okay.
13:31It's okay.
13:32Don't worry about it not being cool or whatever.
13:34You need to f***ing come upstairs.
13:36You need to face it and you gotta do it, okay?
13:38Oh, yeah.
13:39Okay, promise?
13:40Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:41Look at me.
13:42I just need a second.
13:43Promise?
13:44You're gonna come upstairs?
13:45Yeah, yeah, yeah.
13:46Okay.
13:47Okay, I'm gonna go, okay?
13:48Yeah.
13:49If you need me, I'll come down again, alright?
13:51Okay, sweetheart.
13:52Oh, my God.
13:53Oh, my God.
13:56Oh, my God.
13:58Oh, my God.
14:09Dexana?
14:10Yeah.
14:14What are you doing, huh?
14:15This is so ridiculous.
14:17No, no, no, no, no, no. It's not ridiculous.
14:20You're taking too fast a breath. Slow it down.
14:29I can't breathe.
14:31Keep breathing. Just relax.
14:40Somebody is not having a good time at all right now.
14:43And I went down there to give her to talk to her.
14:45I'm just having a total f***ing nervous breakdown.
14:52Is she okay?
15:09I've been through such a whirlwind in the last few years.
15:13And at some point your body just collapses and it happened here on the first date, which was a shame because I was so excited and ready to go.
15:27And I'm very disappointed, yeah.
15:31Designers, I just need your attention for two seconds.
15:41Jacqueline's getting some medical attention.
15:44She decided to leave the competition.
15:46Okay?
15:49Just wanted to let you know.
15:52When I found out about Jacqueline's decision to leave the competition and her, the reasons why, my heart really went out to her because I really did understand it.
16:00In order to handle this particular environment, you need to be at your very best.
16:08Jacqueline was just really, really fun.
16:10And so I was kind of bummed out that she left.
16:12But at the same time, I was sort of stoked.
16:14Wicked.
16:15One person down.
16:17Who else is going to break?
16:18Because it's not going to be me.
16:20How much fabric do you have?
16:22Oh, I've got enough.
16:24Cute.
16:25I wanted to make a 40s inspired bolero that would have been opened in the back.
16:30So it's basically the pleating and then it's inverted with a stitching line down the center front.
16:34Oh, wow.
16:35Daniel could probably like win the competition because he has so much skill.
16:38Especially because the materials he chose were like pretty structured.
16:41And I thought, okay, that's really smart.
16:43I would like to make it to the final three.
16:45Because when you're actually presenting a mini collection or a collection, that's when you actually see the true talent of the designer.
16:51And I think I stand a very good chance.
16:58Beautiful.
16:59Beautiful.
17:03If anyone does a tube top, I'll be very upset.
17:06They are disgusting.
17:07I'm wearing a f***ing tube top.
17:09Hey, hey, hey.
17:10My name is Margarita Volzos.
17:12I'm a designer from Montreal.
17:14Some people call me Maggie, Mag Dog, Magnetism.
17:18I founded my company, Proper Apparel, a couple years ago.
17:21I do have a lot of experience.
17:23I think people are going to be threatened a little bit.
17:26I'm no bulls***.
17:27I'm like, I'm totally wearing a tube top.
17:30Time to go home.
17:33Let's do the home home dance.
17:35Let's do the home home dance.
17:44Holy f***.
17:53How are you feeling?
17:55Not well.
17:57After years of chemotherapy, I developed skin ulcers on my legs.
18:01As my body sort of expelled a lot of the toxins.
18:05It became very, very painful.
18:08Daniel wasn't looking well.
18:11His legs looked very painful.
18:12I like to pretend I'm Superman and I like to bulldoze my way through things.
18:19But I was in a great deal of physical pain.
18:25Does that scare me?
18:26Yes.
18:27Oh yeah, I'm amazing.
18:38The challenge is to take camouflage fabric and to make a groundbreaking design that would
18:45set us apart from the competition.
18:47Hey, hey, hey.
18:47Hey, hey.
18:49I would love, love, love to win this challenge.
18:52It's pretty cool that you get your garment displayed in the War Museum.
18:55Sonny, have you actually started sewing your real material?
18:58Yes.
18:59Just a little worried for it about you.
19:01I'm worried too.
19:03Thanks for reminding me.
19:04Yeah, yeah.
19:05I'm a self-taught designer and I started my line called Vok four years ago.
19:11I spent all my savings.
19:13So Vok's sleeping right now, but with Project Runway, I'm hoping to wake it back up.
19:19Do you think if I embroider this in gold, you'll see it on the runway, like around the edge
19:23of the lightning bolt?
19:23I think the weakest garment out of the bunch would have to be Christie's.
19:28It's crap.
19:29I'm sorry.
19:30If it was a lightning bolt going down like this baby doll dress, honestly, I could have
19:34made that in like five minutes and I'm not even joking.
19:37It is space fabric, dude.
19:41There's definitely some designs that I don't like.
19:43I actually think they're heinous.
19:45I think that Camille has a good idea.
19:47I don't think she's up to par with the rest of us as far as sewing abilities and execution.
19:52This is actually for the bobbin.
19:53Not around that way.
19:55And then into the...
19:55Okay, cool.
19:56I think her ass is going to be on the line for elimination time.
19:59You okay?
20:07No.
20:09I thought that Danio was just kind of taking his time and a bit of a perfectionist, really
20:15not realizing the magnitude of his medical issues.
20:20As I'm sitting at my workstation and I'm trying to focus in on work, I'm noticing that
20:25my legs are swelling and I'm feeling immense pain right down to my bone.
20:31Designers, I love what I'm seeing.
20:33The more messier, the better.
20:35Mr. Jason Myers.
20:36How are you?
20:37Good.
20:38How are you?
20:38I'm Jason Myers.
20:39I'm 31 years old and I have a collection based out of Toronto that I'm very proud of.
20:44The way I dress and the way I carry myself, I don't think anyone's going to be surprised
20:47that I'm going to be really good.
20:49I really believe that I have a strong chance to take this.
20:52Looks a little furry on that Judy there.
20:54I just did a basic princess-themed dress for fit.
20:58Good.
20:59But watch this.
20:59Ready?
20:59Watch.
21:00She's going to be able to untie this and then bend down and throw this over and cover hers up.
21:07Antics on the runway work amazing things when they're done well.
21:10The language of fashion needs to be explained to everybody, including your model.
21:13Easy.
21:17Atta-joking.
21:18I'm not reading groundbreaking on the sketch.
21:21Are you going to kind of scope by on safe mode for a while?
21:24I don't want to be safe.
21:25Like I want to do something more like risky.
21:28What's another word for risky?
21:29Uh, scandalous.
21:31What's the next word after that?
21:32Oh, like slutty?
21:33No!
21:35Sexy!
21:36That's got a reaction, isn't it?
21:37There are other S words.
21:39Okay, keep going.
21:39Sexy.
21:40Say that louder.
21:41Sexy!
21:41Okay, okay.
21:43I love it.
21:44Keep going.
21:44Okay, thank you.
21:45I think his advice was right, but it definitely made me worried.
21:50I kind of still am.
21:54Camille Prince.
21:55Hi.
21:56You've got a lot of fabrics.
21:58Yeah.
21:59Can you just do that again?
22:00Yeah.
22:01That one, right?
22:03One more time.
22:04Yeah.
22:04Excellent.
22:05Okay, good.
22:06I love it.
22:06My entire concept for it was basically this kind of, like, guerrilla militant woman who
22:12maybe, like, led her own, like, military group in the jungle.
22:16Is that what the model is going to understand, perhaps?
22:18Yeah, I'm definitely going to have to, like, portray that to her.
22:22It's kind of junkyard looking in the back.
22:24Yeah.
22:24Okay, so let's kind of put it together.
22:26Yeah.
22:26Okay.
22:26Okay.
22:28Daniel, I'll show you the illustration for it.
22:32I like this, Daniel.
22:34How are you doing?
22:36Not well.
22:37Not well?
22:38Do you want to come outside?
22:38We can sit and talk and have a little chat about it.
22:40Sure.
22:41Okay.
22:55Let's have a sit down over here.
22:58So I understand you're not feeling that well.
23:00No.
23:01Seven-year battle with cancer.
23:02What?
23:03About a year ago, I developed skin ulcers on my legs.
23:07Enough time has passed that I thought I was, I'm not going to say 100%, but I was strong
23:12enough to do this competition.
23:13And, unfortunately, it's been very taxing on my legs, and they were quite bad yesterday,
23:22and today they're getting just as bad, if not worse.
23:25So, Daniel, we're going to get you some medical attention today.
23:28What are your next steps today?
23:30I'm simply going to just step down from the competition.
23:41This is a tough one.
23:43Let me tell you, stepping away from this, this is killing me.
23:45When I was contemplating walking away, and when I came to the decision, it really broke my
23:55heart.
23:56It really, really broke my heart.
23:59Most importantly, you need to get better.
24:01That's first and foremost.
24:02Okay?
24:04I really wanted this.
24:07If I was well enough to do this, it means I'm well on my way of being fully recovered.
24:11And that, to me, means more than any prize money or any sort of normal notoriety that may have
24:19come from the show.
24:20Designers, I need your attention, please.
24:23Designers, Daniel has decided to withdraw from the competition for health reasons.
24:28It was a real jolt.
24:33You know, I was not expecting that.
24:34I was not expecting that.
24:36What's important to know is that he's being well looked after.
24:40Today has been a day like no other in the history of Project Runway Canada.
24:46Two have left, and you need to listen carefully.
24:50It does not mean that you're safe.
24:52You will have until 5 o'clock today to finish your groundbreaking garment.
24:58Do not forget to use the winner's accessory wall.
25:01It's important.
25:03I'm sending you down to see Eddie and Eric in the L'Oreal Paris Beauty Room.
25:07I'm sending in your models now.
25:15I might have to take it in a little bit.
25:18Yeah, I had to take this in a lot.
25:20You can see, like, there's weight in the bottom.
25:22So if you give it movement, it'll give the dress justice.
25:27My name is Baylor Oblando.
25:29I'm 37 years old, and I'm from Montreal.
25:32I was born and raised in Venezuela.
25:35I started my own company, doing wedding dresses and evening gowns.
25:40Fashion is my life, and success means that I'm doing it good.
25:44And I'm going to take it in a little bit.
25:50Hi.
25:51Hi.
25:51I'm Adi Jockey.
25:53Nice to meet you.
25:53Nice to meet you.
25:54Nice to meet you.
25:55Eric, nice to meet you.
25:55So I have a tall mandarin collar that comes around the face.
26:00Let's do everything back.
26:01Okay.
26:02Quite sleek.
26:03But then why don't we mount something up here, like, you know, just accentuate the collar
26:08and just make everything come right up.
26:10It's perfect.
26:10They totally understood what I wanted.
26:12Like, how she looked was exactly what I wanted.
26:19Hi.
26:20Hi.
26:20Hi.
26:21Well, she's, like, a 1950s-inspired kind of camo, sassy but cute kind of rocker girl.
26:28Oh, beautiful.
26:29I love it.
26:30And maybe what we could do with the eyes is to put camouflage color on the eyes, like something,
26:35like, hip-gold and khaki.
26:36All the accent could be on the eyes, but the glamour will be on the lips, you know?
26:42Beautiful.
26:43Beautiful.
26:43Let's go.
26:51Designers, we have a show to do at the War Museum.
26:54You've got 10 minutes.
27:04Yeah, it's all refreshing.
27:06It's hard.
27:07It's hard.
27:09Okay, designers, tools down right now.
27:14Let's go show Canada what you've got to offer now.
27:23Next, on Project Runway Canada.
27:29I think it's messy.
27:30It's all wrong.
27:32That's my favorite.
27:33Congratulations to you.
27:34She looks like she grabbed Wilma Flintstone's bedspread and ran out onto the runway.
27:40Are we wrong?
27:41No one is safe.
27:43No one.
27:44Howie Mandel is back.
27:45Oh, my God.
27:46Howie, do it.
27:47New episode, Friday at 8, 7 central on Global.
27:50Project Runway Canada is brought to you in part by winners.
27:54Fresh fashions arriving daily at unbelievable prices.
27:56Welcome to Project Runway Canada.
28:12Welcome to Project Runway Canada.
28:14Let me introduce to you our judges.
28:22First, Sean Hewson, the creative director of Bustle Clothing, worn by some of the hardest names in Hollywood.
28:30Next, from Elle Canada, editor-in-chief Rita Sylvan.
28:36Rita expects to see unique design and impeccable workmanship.
28:41And our guest judge, my dear friend, Joe Zee, the creative director of Elle magazine in New York.
28:53We are delighted to show our first runway show here at the Canadian War Museum.
28:59The winning design will be featured in the camouflage exhibit presented in association with the Imperial War Museum of England.
29:09Now, let's start the show.
29:17Seeing my model on the runway, it's such a nice feeling.
29:22It's really great emotions what you get when you see your dress for the first time.
29:29She was amazing.
29:39I was really impressed with the makeup.
29:43She literally just looked like she was covered in dirt.
29:46Amon's face was straight when my dress went by.
29:59I was trying not to worry about it too, too much and enjoy the moment.
30:15When I saw my model walk down the runway, I was like, man, she knows how to work it.
30:24What I put out looked pretty decent, so I was happy.
30:29I really couldn't believe the way my model was walking.
30:35Her hips were jerky and she was doing a horse trot.
30:42I couldn't believe that she was walking like that.
30:54Seeing my model on the runway was relieving, actually.
30:59I was still, like, biting my lip and worrying as usual because I was, like, nervous wreck.
31:13When my model was walking down the runway, she worked it.
31:15She was like, mm-hmm, I know I have the hottest dress on this runway.
31:19I think I may get nailed for the fact that my garment is so different from the rest,
31:25but honestly, they won't cut me.
31:35Seeing my dress on the runway was really cool.
31:37I was really happy with how it looked.
31:44Then when she came back to the end of the runway, when she did the bag over her head,
31:48it actually got a real big laugh and smile from my mom.
31:51Seeing my dress come down the runway, I was stoked.
31:59The dress looked beautiful.
32:01The skirt was perfect.
32:03I was not nervous.
32:04It was awesome.
32:16Kathy came out, and she was beautiful.
32:18Walking the runway in an outfit that I made,
32:20that's a unique experience that I haven't had in over 15 years.
32:25I thought Elise looked absolutely stunning coming down the runway.
32:40The garment looks fantastic.
32:46My model just, like, stomps it on out.
32:49She housed that runway show.
32:51Just worked it like it owed her money.
32:53She sold her money.
33:16Well, designers, certainly we have started this season with a bang.
33:21We scored your designs as they came down the runway.
33:26If I say your name, please step forward.
33:31Camille.
33:34Christy.
33:38Sunny.
33:41Kim.
33:42Kyle Rimm,
33:43activists.
33:48Jim.
33:49Mike,
33:49Jase.
33:54In the meantime,
33:59The rest of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
34:11Let's bring up your models.
34:17Christy, tell us about your design.
34:20Basically, she's an intergalactic space warrior, and she just came from Saturn, and she also
34:25has a gun that shoots lasers of love.
34:28Very cute.
34:31I'm amazed that there's always a Ziggy Stardust somewhere.
34:35In every fashion I see, Rita, what do you think?
34:39I like your explanation, Christy.
34:41I don't like the dress, however.
34:42You know, I'm looking at that hem.
34:45It's very weird and unfinished looking.
34:48The thunderbolt, it's just gimmicky.
34:51Okay.
34:52Sean, what do you think?
34:54I guess my issue with this particular outfit is that I really can't see it being featured
34:59in the Canadian War Museum.
35:00I am a very colorful designer, so I was trying to emulate my personality.
35:06You did put your personality into the dress.
35:09On the flip side of that, I think it looks cheap.
35:12Kim?
35:13The whole inspiration kind of came from 1950s, feminine, revolutionary.
35:18Joe?
35:19I like the premise of your dress.
35:20I think you have way too many details going on.
35:22A hood, an apron detail, a tears, the ruffle, the patchwork.
35:27I think it's too much.
35:28Well, I really liked this dress, and I really appreciated the quirkiness of your approach.
35:33The jacket?
35:35My idea was to create a sexy silhouette.
35:39The ruffles were inspired by Dickies that they wore in the early 1900s, but I used them
35:44as shields, so the outfit is kind of her armor.
35:47I love it.
35:48I love, love, love it.
35:50This is what it means when you know what you're talking about, why you're designing what you're
35:54designing.
35:55I loved it.
35:56I could absolutely see that hanging in a museum.
35:58That's my favorite.
35:59I love that dress.
36:00Congratulations to you.
36:01I think you did a great job.
36:02Sunny?
36:03I wanted to make military sexy.
36:06I was incredibly impressed with the tailoring of this jacket.
36:09I mean, so beautiful.
36:12The skirt, you know, I don't know.
36:14I mean, it's a little bit cheesy, but I would wear it.
36:17You wouldn't wear it.
36:18I would.
36:19I would.
36:20You would not wear that skirt.
36:21I would.
36:22Give that to her.
36:23She'll wear it next week.
36:24I would.
36:25I'll wear it next time.
36:26Jason.
36:27My definition kind of a camouflage is to not be seen.
36:30I just wanted to somehow completely cover her up.
36:33And I also wanted to have something fashionable and something innovative and a big detail
36:37on it.
36:38She looks like she grabbed Wilma Flintstone's bedspread and ran out onto the runway.
36:41Like, it doesn't show to me anything sort of interesting.
36:44Well, I think it was very interesting when she was fully covered up on runway, which is
36:48camouflage, which my vision was to not be seen.
36:51I think it's actually a good design.
36:53And I did like where you went with the concept of the camouflage.
36:56I've been a model for so many years and that what she did or what you let her do is really
37:02worked against you because it became gimmicky and I know you don't think so, but it's my
37:08place to tell you so.
37:10Camille.
37:11Camille.
37:12Camille.
37:13Um, my design is inspired by basically a guerilla militant leader in the Congo, so she really
37:20specializes in blending in with the trees.
37:23She's basically a machete-yielding woman.
37:25You said machete
37:28You used it. I think it's messy
37:31You should always keep in mind that you want your girl to be as beautiful as she can I think she looks dirty
37:35I think she's coming out of her environment
37:38It was painful to look at this dress. It was I'm sorry to say it. It's all wrong
37:45Thank you designers you can leave the runway while we decide who stays in and who doesn't measure up
37:55Okay, judges, I'm gonna start with Kim. It's a good dress too many good things in the dress actually weakened it
38:02Yes, well, I wouldn't say it was all good the business at the bottom of the dress had no business being on the dress
38:09Had a jacket I liked some aspects of it. I didn't like it overall. I didn't care for the collar very much
38:15I just found it to be very constricted. I like the collar. I like the drama of it when it came out
38:20I thought well here we go. This is some good fashion. You know this is fashion
38:25Sunny he really knocked it out of the ballpark a jacket is the hardest thing to construct out of all the outfits to me
38:33That was the strongest
38:36Christy it was her point of view okay, and it was an expression of who she
38:41Sees herself to be as a designer, but unfortunately the execution was weird and honestly had no place being in a camouflage competition or even in a museum
38:49Camille
38:51Camille
38:53Everywhere you turn there was a problem those many many designs that was going on the disaster. I hated this dress from beginning to end
39:01What did we think of Jason? He was adamant that this looked good this
39:09Whole camouflage bit that she did I cringed when I saw it. I thought she'd fallen. You thought it was
39:16I took my eye off her and I looked back and she was on the ground. Yes, not even seen
39:20Well, she was camouflaged. Yes
39:22Let's bring them in
39:26Let's bring them in
39:32There are six of you on the runway
39:34But only five will continue with this competition the person with the weakest design will be out
