00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada, this next challenge, there will be teams of three.
00:07On the board are six iconic fashion houses.
00:11I didn't know Yves Saint Laurents.
00:13Who doesn't know Yves Saint Laurents?
00:15Behind me is the fabric to create your couture collections.
00:18I feel so overwhelmed by this.
00:21Jessica is in a bad space right now.
00:26The winner is Sunny.
00:29Brandon, I'm sorry, you just didn't measure up.
00:34The finalists of Project Runway Canada will show at Toronto Fashion Week, and the winner
00:40will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine, a professional portfolio
00:46photoshoot courtesy of L'Oreal Paris, a runway to retail, business mentorship at winners,
00:52and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
00:59Ready for the runway?
01:06Fourteen designers, but only one can win.
01:14Only one can win.
01:29Tempers will flare.
01:31Hemlines will fly.
01:42Time for the show designers.
01:50Because fashion isn't always pretty.
01:59It's going to be weird with that Brandon for the next little while.
02:05Winning back-to-back challenges is awesome.
02:07I think about whether or not I should win the next one.
02:10Thanks.
02:11I don't want to be the focus of the house of gossip or rumors or evils.
02:19I'm so tired.
02:23I was in the bottom too.
02:25Scaring the bottom too.
02:26I was totally pissed that I was in the bottom too.
02:29There are so many other garments on that runway that were made poorly.
02:33How did you dress?
02:35Sucked.
02:36Sort of Jessica's.
02:37So Jessica's.
02:38Like hardcore.
02:39I thought it was super lame town.
02:41It's going to go down.
02:43Hello designers.
02:53Hello.
02:54Are you ready for your next challenge?
02:55Yes.
02:56For this next challenge.
02:57I'm going to switch things up.
02:58Uh oh.
02:59You're going to be divorced from your regular models and work with someone new.
03:13You're going to meet Brian at a party to find out more.
03:19Yeah.
03:20Sweet.
03:21We need a party.
03:22Go have fun and I'll see you in the wrong way.
03:25Ciao.
03:26Ciao.
03:27Bye bye.
03:42Come on in designers.
03:43Grab a box.
03:46So we walked in and there are all these boxes that were sitting up on the bar.
03:49I want the white one.
03:51It felt light.
03:52So a little bit worrisome wondering what's in the box.
03:55It could be anything.
03:56This challenge is all about celebrating individuality and a new direction in life.
04:01Yeah.
04:02Are you ready to meet your muses designers?
04:04Yes.
04:05Yes.
04:06Come on in ladies.
04:12Designers.
04:13Meet your new models.
04:15Hello.
04:16Hi.
04:17I'm a size zero model designer but they all came in all shapes and sizes.
04:23So I was a little worried.
04:26These are fabulous and fashionable women.
04:29They all have one thing in common.
04:32They're divorced.
04:33Me too.
04:34I'm divorced too.
04:35Yay.
04:36Each of you will make one of them a new outfit that will reflect a new way of life.
04:48Open your box and discover your muse.
04:50And your material.
04:51Each box contains a photo of the bride in her wedding dress and her actual wedding dress.
05:05Ohhhh.
05:06I know.
05:07Use the wedding photo to find your divorcee and hear her story.
05:20But first let's cut the divorce cake.
05:23Hello.
05:24Hello.
05:25Hi.
05:26I'm good.
05:27How are you?
05:28What's your name?
05:29I'm Debbie.
05:30Kim.
05:31The model I'm doing is the ex-wife of the Ottawa mayor.
05:36How are you feeling about being divorced?
05:38I often say that, you know, we sacrificed our marriage to save our friendship.
05:42I was married for about three years and I was inspired by Debbie and just the fact that
05:47her and her ex-husband are such great friends.
05:52I think I want to kind of keep some of the elements of the dress.
05:55I didn't want to hack up her dress and make something totally new and just forget the past.
06:00I want to make something that has elements from the wedding dress into the new dress.
06:05Jeff?
06:06Cindy.
06:07Nice to meet you.
06:08Nice to meet you.
06:09What are you looking for in an outfit?
06:10I'll show you because I'm going to win you this contest.
06:12I want a short set, a halter top and shorts.
06:15And I really wanted it black.
06:21Not a black wedding dress though.
06:23Cindy wanted her wedding dress turned into a complete other outfit.
06:26If you do with it, I'll be pretty happy.
06:28You want it unrecognizable.
06:30Bingo.
06:31What are you looking for?
06:33My daughter is graduating, so I'm looking for something to wear to her graduation.
06:36Nice.
06:37And I was thinking of like a little suit, something kind of nice and snug.
06:41Nice.
06:42Because you have a great figure.
06:44You don't have a ton of fabric in your dress.
06:47No, I know.
06:48I realize that.
06:49Yeah, that's okay though.
06:50It's totally fine.
06:51Do you think you can do something with it?
06:52Of course I can.
06:53Dude, I can do anything with anything.
06:56So tell me about my material.
06:58Well, that's actually my sari.
07:00Okay.
07:01I want to expose my back.
07:03Okay.
07:04Alter neck, probably.
07:05Working with a model who is not size zero definitely affects my design because you have to respect the real measurements that this person has.
07:15Perfect.
07:16Perfect.
07:17Amazing.
07:18What are your wants and want nots?
07:20I'd love to have a cocktail dress.
07:21Okay.
07:22I actually made a list of some of the things.
07:25Jose actually had a whole list of things she wanted.
07:28If you want to have the crinoline coming out farther than the hem, I think I'd like either a high waist or a princess waist.
07:35Sleeveless or with a cap sleeve or what I'd love to have is a scarf.
07:40Something happy.
07:41It was like a whole page.
07:43Something festive.
07:44I was thinking, oh crap.
07:47I was thinking something along the lines of a jacket or a coat, a trench coat type of thing.
07:52My model Mara is fairly young and she has a one-year-old son named Milo.
07:57I really like the idea of a trench coat.
07:59Good.
08:00I hope that I can make this piece everything that she wants.
08:02This dress is beautiful.
08:04Well, it was in the day.
08:06I really don't want it long.
08:09No long.
08:10And I don't want it to be boring.
08:11No long, no boring.
08:12I think I can swing that.
08:14Okay, everybody.
08:16It's time to wrap this party up.
08:18Now, our ladies have one more thing for you.
08:21More fabric.
08:23One, two, three.
08:34Designers, gather up your fabric.
08:38And say goodbye to the ladies.
08:39We're off to the work group.
08:41Next, on Project Runway Canada.
08:49I love it.
08:50It makes your bum look amazing.
08:51Jean-Vievre thinks she's it.
08:54I'm a master draper.
08:56Babe, get real.
08:58Today's challenge is to rework a wedding dress from a divorced woman into a fresh new look for her in her new lifestyle.
09:21This is really well put together.
09:22Oh, yeah?
09:23It's like five layers right here for the zipper.
09:24I have an enormous amount of fabric to work with, which is actually really cool because
09:28Mara wanted a jacket, so I'm making her like a three-quarter length trench coat.
09:34The last dress that Jason made was pretty similar to what he's done before.
09:41I expect to be challenged by other designers, and right now his design just seems sort of boring.
09:47So, if our fabric is all stained, should we just use it anyways?
09:53This is the only piece of fabric I have, eh?
09:56I have a major challenge with this dress.
09:59It's all stained and there's no fabric.
10:02The dress was short to begin with.
10:05In my bouquet, a fabric was full of hideous things.
10:08I would never, ever put those together.
10:10It just feels like my grandmother.
10:11It's old and gross.
10:13It's kind of stressing me out.
10:15Fabric, fabric.
10:20I know that Baylor used to have his own bridal company, but his particular challenge isn't
10:25about making another bridal gown, so he's in the same boat as the rest of us.
10:30My piece of fabric is actually a sardi.
10:33It's a really beautiful fabric.
10:39I have no fabric.
10:41Aman said to me she didn't want to see that shape anymore.
10:45Oops, she did it again.
10:47If I see that silhouette one more time, I'm going to take you to test.
10:50I'm definitely going to spice it up because I'm doing something for an older woman who
10:54doesn't like anything to be draped.
10:56She likes structure, clean lines, so that works out really well.
11:01Hello, designers.
11:02Hi, Brian.
11:03Kim.
11:04Brian.
11:05So what are you going to do for her?
11:07Well, my limitations are fabric.
11:10This is all the fabric I have right here.
11:12That's enough.
11:13You need to stay sexy to her every second you get.
11:15Yeah.
11:16They're sexy ho, they're sexy beautiful, and they're sexy over the moon.
11:20Wow.
11:21Yeah, thanks.
11:23Jason.
11:24She said she would love a jacket, so I'm going to do like a three-quarter length trench.
11:29This needs to be pressed.
11:31I know.
11:32I just sewed it up.
11:33It needs to be sewn properly.
11:34What's...
11:35You're not going to get away with it.
11:36Okay.
11:37I'll sew it properly.
11:38You know what?
11:39That's what needs to happen, I think.
11:40I'm going to style it just as like a trench coat dress.
11:43So I flared it out through the back.
11:45I like your design idea.
11:46This is very nice.
11:47I like this.
11:48I'll look forward to seeing exceptional fine quality out of you this time.
11:52Okay.
11:53Okay?
11:54Jeff, how's it going?
11:57I have not got a lot of fabric.
11:59Her dress is pretty small.
12:00I'm doing the top out of the bouquet fabric.
12:06This is looking very messy.
12:08This word should be in your vocabulary.
12:12Doesn't matter who it is, what she wants, or anything.
12:15I think that's the most important thing that every woman wants to feel.
12:18They're divorced.
12:19Mm-hmm.
12:20I mean, she's...
12:21I talked to her about hair and makeup, and she just sort of said,
12:24You know what?
12:25I don't really wear makeup.
12:26I don't really do much with my hair.
12:27Well, girlfriend, you are wearing makeup because this is what's going to make a difference.
12:30Yeah.
12:31So, give her something sexy.
12:32That's not.
12:33Make it your own.
12:34Make her feel good about it.
12:36Thank you, Brian.
12:39Baylor, how are you?
12:40I'm a little upset because she said she loves her back.
12:46I don't see nothing.
12:47Yeah, that's my point.
12:49She's busty, and she needs to wear a bra.
12:52I'm working on other options.
12:55Yeah.
12:56It's going to be a wrap dress.
12:57There's nothing sexy about what's happening here.
13:00I'd be thinking about what's going on up here.
13:02She's got a bust line.
13:03Make it look beautiful.
13:05You are the master at bustiers.
13:07You are the master at hiding bra straps.
13:10Pull out the stops.
13:11They all want to feel fabulous.
13:13I'm not kind of halfway there.
13:15Not only is she going to get nowhere, but you're going to get booted off in this competition.
13:19Okay.
13:23Designers, you'll have until midnight tonight and just a short time in the morning to finish your garments.
13:28Okay, designers, I'm bringing in your models.
13:35Do you like this?
13:36Yay, nay.
13:37Just say no if you don't like it.
13:38Okay.
13:39Well, I thought about doing a dress, but then I find a suit on a woman very sexy.
13:43You, too.
13:44Oh, it's tight on.
13:45No?
13:46Okay.
13:47You want it?
13:48Yeah.
13:49Oh, yeah.
13:50I don't like anything tight.
13:51Why is it so tight?
13:52I don't know.
13:53I think I made a mistake.
13:54Yeah.
13:55So, I was looking at the bum detail.
13:56Yes.
13:57And I think it's going to be overkill.
13:58Ellen's not shy at all.
14:00She's all like, as much cleave as you want to show, that's totally fine.
14:04Okay.
14:05Snip, snip, snip.
14:07I think I'm flushed.
14:09The fact that she's not afraid of showing cleavage and not afraid of showing legs, I'm sure she's on the prowl a little.
14:15I'm going to cut this on you.
14:18I knew I was f***ed when I was like, oh, I don't know where to put darts.
14:24I don't know how to make shape out of no fabric.
14:27I think this is going to be the ticket.
14:29I just knew it was bad.
14:31Let's see.
14:32I just want this to be a boost for you.
14:35Initially, I was giving Cindy what she wanted, which was something sort of safari-ish and casual.
14:40I can make you a halter top and I can make you shorts, but you can go anywhere and get that.
14:44I didn't have a lot of options to actually change the dress.
14:47Because it was so small, I couldn't do an awful lot with it.
14:49A few alterations, nothing major.
14:51Sexy, baby, sexy.
14:53Yes, very sexy.
14:54Millions of people are going to see you.
14:55Cindy's gotten in a bit of a rut.
14:57She never gets her hair done and she never does her makeup, so I think it's time to push Cindy a little bit.
15:02I would never work.
15:04I know, but see, this is about like...
15:05I'm pushing every damn envelope.
15:07Absolutely.
15:08Okay.
15:09That's the spirit?
15:10Yeah.
15:11Jeff's dress just seemed like kind of a knockoff.
15:13I have been totally shocked that Jeff is still around.
15:17I love it.
15:18It makes your bum look amazing.
15:19I really feel like it's my time to win.
15:21I think I've done really, really well.
15:23I've put out the best work that I possibly can.
15:26It's going to be really nice.
15:28Yeah.
15:29Bonviève gets a little holier than thou.
15:33She seems to think she's it.
15:37I'm a master drinker.
15:39I know she felt that she was better than I am.
15:42I know she feels that she's better than a lot of people here.
15:44Maybe everybody here.
15:46But...
15:47Babe.
15:48Get real.
15:59The vibe has definitely changed.
16:01Everyone's kind of stressed.
16:02There's no way I can make anything with this fabric I have.
16:05Yeah.
16:06There's like no way.
16:07Kim's freaking out a little bit because she doesn't really have a lot of fabric to work with.
16:11I don't really know what she's going to do.
16:15Are you just altering the dress she already had?
16:21Yeah, I'm not using the top.
16:22I'm completely frustrated that Jeff keeps sliding under the radar.
16:26I feel like Jeff's super stuck in a stagnant mindset.
16:31I'm not really concerned with what her design opinion is.
16:34Because I mean, after all, it is just Kim.
16:36Please fit.
16:37Please fit.
16:38Oh, mother .
16:40Next, on Project Runway Canada.
16:49Oh, yeah.
16:50Baylor seems a little less calm, cool and collected than usual.
16:55Ouch!
16:57Jeff's dress is hideous.
16:59So, yeah.
17:00Did you hear what Kim said to Jeff?
17:14No.
17:15Last night?
17:16No.
17:17Kim was like, so how is that?
17:20Yeah, I didn't know what was going on.
17:21How is that a new outfit?
17:22And I was like, oh my God.
17:23It's awesome.
17:24Like, did you really just say that to him?
17:25Like, there's nothing he can do about it right now.
17:26Yeah.
17:27Yeah.
17:28Like, worry about yourselves.
17:30This morning of the elimination and there's still a lot of things to do, a lot of details
17:37to do.
17:38So, I'm quite nervous if I will make it on time.
17:39I think this challenge is really difficult because balancing out our fabric and making
17:53it work and balancing out the client's requirements, that's a lot in one challenge.
18:14Good morning, designers.
18:16Good morning, Brian.
18:18You'll have until 12 noon to finish your garment.
18:21Do not forget to use the winter's accessory wall.
18:24Take your accessories with you down to see Eddie and Eric in the L'Oreal Paris beauty room.
18:30And now, I'm sending in your models.
18:33Hi.
18:34Hi, guys.
18:35How are you?
18:36I'm so pleasantly surprised by everything.
18:41Really, honestly, because I told you what I wanted, you took it, and then you embellished.
18:46I love it.
18:47You love it?
18:48Cool.
18:49What do you think?
18:50It looks great.
18:51With my entirely white outfit, I needed colour, and I used the winter's accessory wall.
18:57I used the belt that they had, perfect bag and perfect shoes, you know, to complete her
19:02look.
19:03I think it's going to be really pretty.
19:04I just kind of was disappointed that it's not a short set.
19:08But it's pretty.
19:09It's very pretty.
19:10So you have shorts.
19:12I know.
19:13I know.
19:14I know.
19:15But I just, uh, I thought it would just be more fun rather than making a dress, you know?
19:21I love a dress.
19:22Yeah.
19:23But I, you...
19:24What?
19:25There's a decision.
19:26You would have got shorts.
19:27Well...
19:28And that's it.
19:29All I could have used was this.
19:31So if I was to cut a pair of shorts, you'd have, like, a seam coming up here.
19:35And maybe a seam coming over here.
19:37Yeah.
19:38I don't know.
19:39I'll see.
19:40We'll see how it looks.
19:41I mean, at the end of the day, I want you to be happy.
19:46And I want you to feel comfortable and beautiful and not like, oh no, what did she put me in?
19:52Like...
19:53So I pretty much just made a v-neck straight dress and it was ill-fitting and looked like
20:00a garbage bag made of silk taffeta.
20:03I can't wait for it to be completed.
20:07Oh, yeah.
20:08Yeah.
20:10Baylor, I don't know.
20:11He's doing his usual Baylor, you know, keeping to himself.
20:15He seemed a little less calm, cool and collected.
20:18He had a lot of fabric to work with and it was really beautiful fabric.
20:21He had a huge sari, which is just, you know, like getting fabric off the bolt.
20:25Yeah, I guess he didn't seem as confident as usual.
20:30It's nice, eh?
20:31Really nice.
20:32I love it.
20:33Last time I wore this, it was very different.
20:38Having Mara as my client now, I'm actually really excited.
20:41I think she's super cool and she's younger, so we have a really good rapport together.
20:45Yeah, it looks way sicker right there.
20:46Sick.
20:47Way gooder.
20:48It looks sick.
20:49That's good, apparently.
20:51Mara has a one-year-old son named Milo.
20:53I was like, uh, grew up with pretty much my mom and my sister and it's a crazy situation
20:58to be like a single mother trying to raise a young kid, so I want to do something special
21:02for her.
21:03On the inside, I'm going to cut out in fabric Milo in writing and just tack it on the inside
21:08of her left side so when she puts a jacket on it's close to her heart.
21:12Let's hopefully make her cry.
21:14I'm getting really nervous.
21:19She just keeps saying, I would never wear this and it's like, well, you just gotta push
21:26yourself.
21:27You know, she was like, oh my God, I would never wear these because they're huge.
21:30Yeah.
21:31Do these sunglasses look huge to you?
21:32No.
21:33So it's just like change.
21:35I think that Jeff is a little annoying.
21:42His laugh, it's like grating in my ear.
21:46And every time he laughs, I just want to like throw up or something.
21:58How you doing?
21:59Good, you.
22:00This I just whipped up because it's from her veil and I was thinking it'd be like a cool
22:04color.
22:05Yes.
22:06Yes.
22:07Very nice.
22:08Soft makeup.
22:09Yeah.
22:10Gorgeous, romantic, soft makeup.
22:11We'll put violet.
22:12Soft.
22:13Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
22:14For lips, I use collagen filler lips.
22:17It can make your lips look fuller and smoother.
22:20Amazing.
22:21Good morning.
22:22Hi.
22:23So this is the dress for today.
22:28I just wanted to do something very fresh, sort of fun and flirty.
22:33And Eddie and Eric brought in the colors of my dress into the eyes and did big fun hair.
22:39How do you feel?
22:40Do you like it?
22:41Yeah.
22:42You look smoking hot.
22:44We thought we'd glam her up a little bit, make her a little bit of a jet setter.
22:47She needs a little push.
22:48Yeah, yeah.
22:49A little mini makeover.
22:50Sure, sure.
22:51She can be really crisp and clean looking.
22:54So it still has a beautiful shape, very clean, very healthy and just a clean, fresh blow dry
22:58with a big round brush.
22:59Just give it a little bit of movement on the ends.
23:01Perfect.
23:02I love it.
23:03It's gorgeous.
23:04Yeah.
23:06Ouch!
23:07No, I'm just kidding.
23:09Oh, crazy.
23:11Close to your heart, left side.
23:17That is so cute.
23:19I feel like a baby.
23:31I think that Jeff's dress is hideous.
23:34I think he didn't do anything to the original dress except throw in some seams and hem it
23:39and put a slit in the side.
23:40Although he has a whole story about, oh, well, I, you know, attached the two pieces together.
23:45Well, that's nice.
23:46But you didn't actually make anything.
23:48You just, like, played tailor for the day in the back of, like, a friggin' dry cleaning
23:53shop.
23:54Designers, you have two minutes.
23:56You need to have the outfit on and ready for runway.
23:59Turn around.
24:00Did you get the shoes on?
24:03Let's go.
24:10Next, on Project Runway Canada.
24:15You're very emotional.
24:16I feel like I'm going home.
24:18Why should you stay?
24:19And the games begin.
24:29Hello, designers.
24:30Hello.
24:31For this challenge, your models were replaced with divorces.
24:36You took their old wedding dresses and transformed them into outfits that reflect each woman's
24:43new life.
24:44Let's meet today's judges.
24:46As always, we have Sean Hewson, creative director of Bustle Clothing.
24:51El Canada's editor-in-chief, Rita Sylvan.
24:54Today, we're joined by Canada's preeminent wedding gown designer, Justina McCaffrey.
25:00I think we're ready to start the show.
25:13I liked my outfit on the runway.
25:15I liked the red band across her waist.
25:17It accentuated it.
25:19She actually walked really, really good, and she looked really happy.
25:25Gabby's outfit fit amazing on her.
25:34She has an amazing body, and it's showing it all off, and she looks happy.
25:44Nice.
25:48The outfit looked great.
25:54Up on stage, I did everything I could have done with what I had, and she was really happy.
26:00She looked stunning.
26:05I think my model did the best out of any of the ladies.
26:09She rocked it.
26:16When she comes out on the runway, I realized that the back of the skirt is shorter than the front.
26:25Maybe she sat down backstage, and the skirt went a little bit up.
26:39I thought my dress was really cute on the runway.
26:42It fit her really well.
26:48She looked really confident and happy in the dress, so I was happy.
26:51When Cindy's walking down the runway, you can tell she's nervous.
27:03I was hoping that everybody was aware of the fact that she was nervous, because that can come off as she doesn't like the clothes.
27:13I was totally mortified.
27:20I wish that I could have made her something that she really liked.
27:28Who sends the mayor's ex-wife down the runway in a grandma dress?
27:32I did.
27:33I did, actually.
27:34I did.
27:35Yeah.
27:39I just wanted her to have fun, be comfortable, and enjoy it, and take it in.
27:42I think for all those ladies, they've never been on a runway, or they're never going to be, and it's a one-a-lifetime opportunity, so they have to enjoy it.
27:56Two of you are safe and can leave the runway immediately.
28:03Jean-Vievre.
28:07And...
28:13Jeff.
28:14Congratulations.
28:19You're both safe.
28:21You may leave the runway.
28:28The rest of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
28:31Let's bring out your models.
28:40Jessica, tell us about your outfit.
28:42Ellen was looking for something that she could wear to work and wear out.
28:45She has a very active social life, so I wanted to give her something that she could wear with a blazer or a jacket to work,
28:51and then be able to take off and wear on a night on the town.
28:54The moment your model walked out on the runway, I thought, well, she looks happy, and this looks appropriate for her.
28:59I think the color works really well.
29:02I personally find that it's a little bit too short.
29:04I think it could have been a little bit longer just grazing the knee, and then you would still show the legs.
29:08I agree with Rita.
29:09Definitely too short.
29:10I wish there was a little bit more structure.
29:12Ellen, would you wear it both at the office and going out?
29:16I'm the boss, so I...
29:20Whatever you want.
29:21That's great.
29:23How's the jacket?
29:24She wanted something fun and flirty, sexy and classy, but still conservative.
29:28The fit is lovely.
29:29It's just clean and fresh, and I think the details are very well thought out.
29:35A wonderful post-wedding, post-divorce dress, I think.
29:39Clothes can change your mood just like that, and that looks like the type of dress that makes you happy.
29:45And I just think it's perfect for you.
29:46I think it was fantastic. I think you've given her a reason to wear this dress again.
29:51Failure.
29:52Using her wedding dress, which in this case was a sari, I decided to make a wraparound dress.
29:59I don't love this dress at all. I think given that you had the most charismatic fabric to work with, you might have considered a simpler design or a cleaner silhouette.
30:09I thought the color is beautiful, and you're beautiful. The dress, however, not quite so beautiful. The back of the dress rides up quite a bit.
30:17I think she sat backstage, and it came up and got stuck with her sash.
30:24Okay, so if you pull it down, it corrects it?
30:28Uh, no.
30:29It doesn't do it.
30:30No, it doesn't make the correction.
30:31From the profile point of view, you can really see that it isn't flattering where it's hitting you. It's just not executed properly.
30:38That's my thing.
30:41Uh, Sunny.
30:42She mentioned that she wanted something for her daughter's graduation.
30:45She mentioned also a two-piece, and I'm like, it's not a lot of fabric, but I managed to make it work out.
30:51And it was satin and it was shiny, so I took a chance, and I just used the back and made it matte because it looks better.
31:00I think she loves it.
31:03Uh, I think the details are beautiful. The use of the satin, um, the detail around the neck, it's just the right amount of openness here.
31:09It's very flattering and very feminine.
31:11Your idea to accessorize with the belt?
31:14Yes, I just wanted to give her a little bit of color.
31:16I think it was a great idea because it just grounds it a little bit.
31:20When she walked down the runway, I was, I don't know what it was, but something was so obvious that the quality was there.
31:26A lot of things, seams are not confident, and you had very confident seams, and I was very happy to see that.
31:32Very chic, that's what I have to say. We're moving on to Kim.
31:38So her wedding dress to her was very sentimental, and she wanted to really cherish kind of where she had come from to where she's going.
31:46And so with that in mind, I wanted to keep elements of the original dress, which by the way was really small.
31:54I wanted to rework it as a sign and a symbol of, I care about where you've come from, and I want to see you to where you're going.
32:04Excuse me.
32:05This is so...
32:15I appreciate the sentiment, Kim, that went into making this dress.
32:18I actually, I couldn't grade it, to be honest with you, because I thought it was a very poor dress.
32:26It's a bit of a mess, I think, honestly, Kim.
32:28I mean, it just, it just looks a little sloppy.
32:31It's all a bit ad hoc.
32:33I'm just having trouble with it.
32:35You're very emotional.
32:39Well, the truth is, I feel like I'm going home, and I don't feel like I should right now.
32:43I don't feel like it's my time.
32:44Give me a compelling reason why should you stay.
32:49I think I'm an amazing designer with avant-garde, fashion-forward ideas that a lot of people don't have and can't execute, and I feel like I can.
32:58I feel like I have more to show, and more to make, and more to give, and I just feel like it's the wrong time.
33:03Jason.
33:04She had a really, really nice, elegant, strapless, big, ballooned-out wedding gown, so I did have a lot of fabric to work with, which I tried to benefit from.
33:18I was also able to use, like, little things.
33:20This was the back of her dress that we used on the collar.
33:22And then this is, like, the dress upside down, the train was.
33:25And this was, like, right at her center back on the ground behind her.
33:28And this is their actual veil.
33:29Just played with it for the runway.
33:31Mama's got brand new bag, eh?
33:34You've made something out of all that upside-down dress.
33:37Good for you.
33:39It's nice to see some range from you.
33:42Well done.
33:43Mara, you love it?
33:44I would say I love this jacket more than the original dress.
33:47That's sweet.
33:48He actually embroidered the name of my son into the inside part of the coat.
33:52So, for me, that just makes it extra special.
33:55It's a beautiful evening coat.
33:57It's very, very elegant.
33:58And it was a good decision to do the hair accessory as well.
34:01I think it's a nice touch.
34:02Something old, something new.
34:04Very nice.
34:05Thanks.
34:06Yeah.
34:07May I say one more thing?
34:08Yes, Kim.
34:09I wanted to just bring up something that is sort of on the table amongst us designers
34:18that we've talked about today, which was, like, I figured I'd be in the bottom two.
34:24And we also figured that Jeff would be in the bottom two.
34:29He didn't actually make a dress.
34:32He took the original dress and hemmed it.
34:35I disagree, because I've seen the picture where it was before.
34:38And what he did.
34:39Okay.
34:40Well...
34:41I disagree on that.
34:42Okay.
34:43Anything else, Kim?
34:45Um, no.
34:47You can leave the runway while we decide who's in and who just doesn't measure up.
34:56You're one lucky guy, hey?
34:58Is there a job?
34:59Yeah.
35:00Uh-oh.
35:01It's starting already?
35:02Yeah.
35:03Absolutely.
35:04Let's hear it all.
35:05You hem a dress, and you take in the f***ing seams, and you make a jacket into a short-sleeved
35:10shirt.
35:11Mm-hmm.
35:12And you claim safety.
35:13It's pretty f***ing lame.
35:14I did.
35:15What did I have to work with?
35:16More than I did.
35:17More than I did, dude.
35:18So...
35:19Like, I'm pissed.
35:20I'm not playing this game anymore.
35:22And didn't your girl hate her dress, too?
35:24No, she really liked it.
35:25She was crying today, dude.
35:26Yeah, she f***ing hated it, man.
35:29And the games began.
35:34I also don't think it's right, because you didn't deconstruct that and reinvent it.
35:38It's not fair to other people.
35:40Yeah.
35:41Any of us, if we're doing a challenge, like...
35:44You used the same dress and made a shorter, tighter dress.
35:47Like, I could have made a 1980s Princess Diana dress just bigger with the fabric I was given.
35:52It might have been prettier.
35:53Yeah, it probably would have been.
35:54Would have been, for sure.
35:55My dress was f***ing butt, man.
35:56Like, I know that.
35:57But at least I f***ing made a dress.
36:03Okay, judges.
36:04Let's talk about Jessica.
36:05I did not think it was very flattering for her.
36:07Yeah, it's kind of cumbersome and kind of trying to be trendy.
36:10Yeah, exactly.
36:11It was gimmicky.
36:12And gimmicky.
36:13And it doesn't go when you're a certain age.
36:14I thought it was good.
36:16It seemed totally appropriate for her.
36:18And she seemed extremely happy with it.
36:20I thought that was pretty bang on with what I could glean about her personality.
36:29Let's go straight to Jason.
36:30I thought he did a good job with it.
36:32It fit very well in the front.
36:33And the collar was nice.
36:34The collar was great.
36:35And I think she'll wear it again.
36:36I think she'll go to a christening or she'll go out and have like a tea with friends.
36:40No, I see the sweetness that he put.
36:42He paid attention and put the name of her son inside, you know.
36:45Yes.
36:46Big marks for that.
36:47That, yeah.
36:48Make sure all mommies, ooh.
36:50Yeah.
36:54Oh, Josie and Adejake.
36:56They seemed very happy with each other.
36:58And Josie was just bouncing down that runway.
37:00She sure was.
37:01My gosh, she was just on fire.
37:03And I think this dress really flattered her.
37:05I thought it looked lovely and fresh.
37:07She nailed it.
37:11Let's go straight to Sonny.
37:13Again, the guy knows what he's doing.
37:15Listened to his client.
37:16Made his client look fantastic.
37:18You know, Sonny is the one to beat.
37:20The use of belt.
37:21Beautiful.
37:22That is just...
37:23Perfect belt.
37:24Yeah.
37:25Baylor.
37:26It just was all wrong for me.
37:27I mean, when you're working with that fabric, like the last thing you should do is a bunch
37:31of ruffles around the neck and add more bulk through the body.
37:33I think all the doodads, such as the ruffles, the low-slung belt, he wasn't really thinking
37:38of the client there.
37:39It's almost as if he was trying too hard by putting as much stuff as possible into the dress.
37:43I have to tell you, I was really disappointed.
37:44Surely he could have made something out of that sari.
37:46Yeah.
37:47Who's sari now?
37:48I couldn't resist that.
37:49Kim, Kim, Kim, Kim, Kim, Kim.
38:06That did not look good.
38:08I mean, it was a bit of a tough situation for her, but you need to figure these things
38:12out.
38:13I felt like she somehow was disappointed in herself.
38:15If you're disappointed in yourself, that's one thing.
38:18She had to lash out at another designer.
38:20I just have a gut feeling from what we've seen, especially in the YSL.
38:25It was interesting.
38:26It was very interesting.
38:27She had me.
38:28She had you, or does she have you?
38:31Do we give her one more chance?
38:33I...
38:34It's all known.
38:35This, I think, has been the toughest.
38:39So, let's bring them back in.
38:41Today, one of you will be named the winner of this challenge.
38:50But one of you will be eliminated.
38:53Today, one of you will be named the winner of this challenge.
39:06And you will have immunity for the next challenge.
39:08But one of you will be eliminated.
39:15First, the winner of this challenge.
39:18Congratulations.
39:19Sunny.
39:20This is three in a row for you.
39:29Well done.
39:30You may leave the runway.
39:32All right.
39:33Did you win?
39:34Yeah, I won.
39:35Oh, my God.
39:36I feel a little bit worried if I were to win again, because I don't know how that reads
39:50to the other designers.
39:52You're going to end these.
39:53I don't know.
39:54I'm just doing my best.
39:55Jason, you created something dramatic with a heartwarming touch.
40:05You may leave the runway.
40:07Sunny, I thought I had that one too.
40:10I thought so too.
40:11Oh, man.
40:12Abby Jackie, you and your divorcee seem to be a match made in heaven.
40:28You may leave the runway.
40:29Thanks.
40:33Jessica, you're safe.
40:36You may leave the runway.
40:42Now, it's down to you two, Baylor and Kim.
40:51Kim, you said it yourself.
40:55Your dress didn't measure up to your own skills.
40:59You see your mistake.
41:01So did we.
41:05Baylor, for the material with the most impact,
41:12your dress was not a hit.
41:18Kim, you have one more chance to prove yourself to us.
41:28I mean it.
41:37You may leave the runway.
41:42I'm sorry.
41:43Baylor, you just don't measure up.
41:46I had a great time.
41:47I know you had it in you.
41:48It's been a wonderful experience.
41:49Believe in yourself.
41:50I always believe in myself.
41:51Okay.
41:52Thank you, man.
41:53Bye.
41:54Bye.
41:55Take care.
41:57Bye.
41:58Bye.
41:59Bye.
42:00Bye.
42:01Take care.
42:03Bye.
42:04Bye.
42:05Take care.
42:06Ciao.
42:08I'm sorry, I don't want you to go home.
42:12My final message to all the designers would be keep working hard because this has been
42:18a chance of a lifetime.
42:23I would tell them to enjoy every second, every minute, every day, every challenge the same
42:29way as I did.
42:31I think that you're a class act and I think that you're an amazingly talented designer
42:35and this is very difficult for me.
42:38So come here.
42:39This is the hug that will send you off to good luck for the rest of your life.
42:42Thank you very much.
42:44Thank you very much.
42:45Now you have to come with me.
42:47Bye, guys.
42:48Bye, Dylan.
42:52Design is my life.
42:53Being eliminated from Project Runway won't stop me believing in what I do and who I am.
43:01Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
