00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada.
00:03Hello designers, welcome to Winners.
00:06Your challenge is to design the perfect spring dress and will be manufactured and sold in
00:10select stores across Canada.
00:12It's time to push it, it's time to push it.
00:16It's cracking point and some people get really kind of crazy.
00:19I'm going to draw the f***ing hand sewing on it.
00:23It's my favorite.
00:25I love that one.
00:26Those stitches.
00:28It's cross stitch.
00:29That's what I thought.
00:30You just f***ing lied.
00:31I don't want to talk to you.
00:32You're just such a bitch all the time.
00:35Congratulations, Jessica.
00:38Jeff, you'd like to say something?
00:40I actually had to draw all of that on.
00:43I'm sorry, this challenge you just didn't measure up.
00:48The finalists of Project Runway Canada will show a Toronto Fashion Week and the winner
00:54will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine.
00:58A professional portfolio photo sheet courtesy of L'Oréal Paris.
01:02A runway to retail, business mentorship at Winners and $100,000 to start their own fashion
01:10line.
01:11ready for the runway.
01:12Ready for the runway.
01:1414 designers, but only one can win.
01:24Fourteen designers, but only one can win.
01:43Tempers will flare, hemlines will fly.
01:54Fine for the show, designers.
02:04Because fashion isn't always pretty.
02:18Hello again, designers.
02:20As you can see, there aren't any models on the runway.
02:24Because for this challenge, you will be working with new models.
02:30Your next challenge is a bit of a sticky situation.
02:36You want to find out more?
02:37Yes.
02:38Head off to the sewing room, where you will meet Brian.
02:42Ciao.
02:43Hi.
02:44Amon is very cryptic with this whole sticky situation.
02:50We're just sort of thinking of all the things that are sticky.
02:53Honey, but I mean, how could you make something out of honey?
02:57Hello, designers.
02:58Welcome to the post-it pad.
02:59Yes.
03:00Your challenge is to create an artistic, dramatic gown from post-its.
03:07Oh.
03:08Oh.
03:09Hello, designers.
03:10Welcome to the post-it pad.
03:11Yes.
03:12Your challenge is to create an artistic, dramatic gown from post-its.
03:21I'm just, like, trying to imagine, okay, how are we going to make clothes out of paper?
03:27I'd like to introduce to you Sherry Brown, marketing manager for the post-it brand.
03:32Hello, designers.
03:33It's a pleasure to meet you all.
03:35As you look around, you can see that post-its come in a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes.
03:40Don't think of it as just paper.
03:42You can stencil it, you can pleat it, and you can even paint it.
03:48Designers, post-it is a proud sponsor of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
03:53You will design post-it gowns for breast cancer survivors.
04:00To start the challenge off with, yay, it's happy and fun and bright, and also there's
04:03this really, like, lovely emotional side, so that's definitely going to be the challenging part.
04:08My father died four years ago from cancer, so it's important for me to try to maintain focus.
04:15We have asked each one of the survivors to choose one word that symbolizes their path to recovery.
04:22Pick a post-it from the Judy, match that word to your model.
04:28My family means the world to me, so I kind of, like, jumped at it.
04:33Out of all the words, I chose determination because that's what I'm all about.
04:39I chose beauty because having a great outfit on can make someone feel a million times better
04:44and be able to go and face the world.
04:53After we picked the words, we went upstairs to the workroom to meet our models.
04:56Hi, I'm Janice.
04:57Nice to meet you.
04:58My pleasure.
05:00I'm Lynn.
05:01Hi, how are you?
05:02Good to find you everywhere.
05:03And it's Jane.
05:04Right on there, plain Jane.
05:05Jane.
05:06Tell me a little bit about when you knew that you were diagnosed.
05:07I was diagnosed a couple years ago.
05:08And so I finished my treatment a year ago now.
05:09What made you choose the word positive?
05:10I just think that you need to remain positive.
05:11It's kind of what I would do in my normal circumstances.
05:12I think positive can be interpreted in so many different ways.
05:14And for me, I'm thinking it's a bad situation and working through it to something great.
05:17And that's what I want to bring to my peace.
05:20So was there, like, a history in your family?
05:21Absolutely not.
05:22No.
05:23Oh, really?
05:24No.
05:25My lady is Barbara.
05:26She actually had cancer twice.
05:27So she knows all about perseverance.
05:28No.
05:29No.
05:30No.
05:31No.
05:32No.
05:33No.
05:34No.
05:35No.
05:36No.
05:37No.
05:38No.
05:39No.
05:40No.
05:41No.
05:42No.
05:43No.
05:44No.
05:45No.
05:46No.
05:47No.
05:48No.
05:49No.
05:50So you just have to take one day at a time and that's fine.
05:57Mm-hmm.
05:58I found a lump in 2003.
05:59Oh, yeah?
06:00I'm 30.
06:01I'm 27 when I was diagnosed.
06:02So everything is kind of been thrown up in the air, and I was like, okay, I have two
06:06options.
06:07I can say why me or I can say why not me.
06:08So I said I'm kicking cancer in the ass with my stilettos.
06:13So that's what I did.
06:14Awesome.
06:15Lindsey is her name.
06:17And she's an incredible, inspirational woman.
06:19As soon as I started to lose my hair, I didn't wear a wig.
06:22It was actually, ironically, the sexiest I ever felt in life.
06:25Oh, my God.
06:26Yeah.
06:26Oh, that's so amazing.
06:27Wow.
06:28I love that.
06:29I love that.
06:30Lindsay's 30.
06:31Same age as me.
06:34Hits home a bit.
06:38I can't imagine when someone tells you, well, you're going to lose all your hair.
06:41You're like, nah, I got lots of hair.
06:43Yeah, yeah, yeah.
06:44But you do.
06:45It's all gone.
06:45All gone.
06:46Chemo just, you know, it kills you.
06:49It's been like battles of chemo and radiation and surgery, and she lost her breast, and
06:54it just kind of went on and on.
06:55Like, it was like this crazy story and this glowing, beautiful woman at the end of four
06:58years.
07:00You know what?
07:00I got through it, and it made me, I think, a better person.
07:02I think it made me a stronger person.
07:04Yeah.
07:05I just want to make something that makes her feel beautiful and extravagant and wonderful.
07:12Okay, let's move on here.
07:14Okay, okay.
07:14Okay.
07:16I'm a single mom.
07:17I have a son.
07:17You know, so the hardest thing for me to do was to sit on the back step and tell him
07:25that I had breast cancer.
07:26And I know in that second, his life changed.
07:30You don't want to see anyone go through any circumstances like this.
07:33You know, it's life-changing.
07:35But I'm so, so, so inspired.
07:37I hope that I can make this piece of everything that she wants.
07:40When I was diagnosed with cancer, to me, there was no way that this thing was going to get
07:46me.
07:47But I wasn't ready to go to the last minute.
07:48I wasn't ready to let go of life, so it just reminded me of my father.
07:52Because my father fought to the last minute.
07:56And that's all.
07:57You can't give up.
07:58You can never give up, basically, because there's always something to live for, right?
08:11One more thing, designers.
08:12Your creations will be auctioned off online in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
08:20The fact that we know that the dresses are being auctioned off and that money is going
08:27to go to cancer research, like, that's really important because you want to raise enough
08:31money.
08:32Like, you want to really help people, so it's, like, serious business.
08:38You'll have two days to complete this challenge.
08:44Designers, remember your garment is to be made at Post-its.
08:47But, here, you will buy your foundation fabrics.
08:54I decided to get three different weights material.
09:01I'm making a dress inspired by Four Seasons, and so it goes from, like, dark to light.
09:07I hope it works.
09:11Remember, designers, your creation must be covered in Post-it notes.
09:18I just decided right then and there that I wanted to make a dress that has, like, these
09:22big wings off the back.
09:24So, I found a bunch of foam.
09:26That's perfect.
09:28I don't know if it's going to fly.
09:35Next, on Project Runway Canada.
09:39This challenge is tough.
09:40I'm not used to working with anything outside of regular fabrics.
09:42I don't want to go out on Post-its, man.
09:44Ah, that piece was sort of driving me crazy.
09:49Why don't we just dump it all out?
09:54The challenge is to create a dress that honors our cancer survivor women and is beautiful
10:14and an artistic evening dress.
10:16There's so many products that Post-it has that I didn't realize they did.
10:19And the entire dress has to be completely covered by Post-its.
10:23No fabric whatsoever can be showing.
10:25Maybe I'll work on my days.
10:27My gowns will be auctioned off to raise money for breast cancer.
10:30And the survivors will be our models.
10:33Now it's time to bring the noise, you know?
10:35Yeah.
10:36It's, like, really important.
10:37It's going to be an emotional one this time.
10:44Oh, that's not what I wanted, either.
10:49I think arts and crafts and being origami crafty is super fun.
10:54I love being innovative and using my creative side of the brain to the maximum.
10:59What are you doing with the foam, Kim?
11:03Making wings.
11:04I want to make a dress that has, like, these big wings off the back.
11:09Like, wings that drag on the floor.
11:11Do you think my idea is too ridiculous?
11:13No, I think it's cool.
11:14Is that fashionable, to wear wings?
11:16Victoria's Secret.
11:19Sweet.
11:20I'm glad you're here.
11:21Yeah, and you can say it.
11:22And I think all these ladies are angels.
11:24Ooh.
11:26God, I've got to think of something for myself, though.
11:30This challenge is tough.
11:31I'm not used to working with anything outside of regular fabrics.
11:34I like the idea that it's a gown.
11:36But, you know, at the same time, it's a competition.
11:37Someone's going home.
11:38So there's kind of a few details I have in my head
11:40that I'm going to really bring drama to the table.
11:42But I really have to test them and be really careful with them.
11:44Because if they don't work, then I got nothing.
11:47We're, like, adhesive gluing post-its to the muslin.
11:51I just hope everything works out.
11:53But I don't want to go out on post-its, man.
11:55I just want to get a look at it.
11:57You're just a fistup.
11:58Listen, it's a fistup.
11:59You're the main page to it.
12:00I see.
12:01Thatоки is the top.
12:02That's the top.
12:03And then the bottom is the Kept Amache.
12:04I'm definitely doing, like, a fitted bodice with origami.
12:06I'm going to fold up the origami shapes and make it almost look three-dimensional.
12:09Mine.
12:10Kept her already post-ditting, I feel like I should be post-ditting.
12:16For my design, I'm doing something really fitted that shows off her body.
12:20Lynn looks awesome, having recovered from all the treatments that she's been through.
12:25One thing she said to me is that she wanted to feel like a million bucks.
12:28I'm like, darling, a million dollars is not worth a lot these days, so let's make you worth 10 million.
12:33My dad died from cancer.
12:35Oh, your dad did?
12:37He died from liposarcoma, which was a rare form of cancer.
12:44This is my mom's name and my dad's name, so just to remind myself of that.
12:49You know when you're young, you really don't think your parents are that important to you.
12:53It's only when you actually miss them that you realize how important they are.
13:02Are all you guys happy with your models?
13:05Yeah.
13:06I was measuring her and she said, you smoke, don't you?
13:09Oh.
13:10And I said, yeah.
13:12And she said, you need to quit that.
13:14Chemo's no fun.
13:15It's amazing how these women are on top of life.
13:21Hearing from someone like that, it's pretty intense, man.
13:24Because I grew up with pretty much my mom and my sister.
13:28Women have always been really important and special to me.
13:31And that's where I get inspiration from.
13:33I was like, you'll be my inspiration to quit.
13:36Hello, designers.
13:37Thought I would stop by and have a look, see how it's going.
13:42Jessica Biffy.
13:43Hi.
13:44My word is positive, so I want to take it from desperation to amazingness.
13:49So it's going to be like a cracked earth sort of thing at the bottom and then it's going
13:57to turn green and get to like a floral detail.
14:01So from the desert becomes the oasis near the top.
14:04Yup.
14:05I want to encourage you.
14:06I like your ideas.
14:08I'm concerned about the way you're dealing with this.
14:10It seems very heavy.
14:11You've gone the opposite direction.
14:14This needs to be more dynamic.
14:16This needs to be less dynamic.
14:18I mean, sometimes a graphic form tends to work better than detail that you have to go up
14:23and look at the picture.
14:27Okay.
14:28Hello, Jason.
14:29Well, I wanted to do something contrast.
14:31I want to keep pink though for the breast cancer aspect of it.
14:34I want it to come down like this and then it's going to be a wave that I'm going to build
14:38like on top of it.
14:39So I want it to actually like come up and build up into it.
14:43I don't know.
14:44You're kind of a gimmicky designer.
14:46And I think you have to be careful with that.
14:49I do remember what Iman said to you.
14:51That what she did or what you let her do is really work against you because it became gimmicky.
14:57Well, gimmicky and witty I think is totally different.
15:00Like when I design my own collections, I don't design gimmicky.
15:02You know, I feel like I'm just trying to work with the guidelines that I'm given.
15:05So not sure about this down here.
15:07Edit as you go.
15:08Editing, editing, editing as you go.
15:11Okay.
15:12Kim, I love what you're doing over there.
15:15That's really good.
15:16Love the color.
15:17Thanks.
15:18A little bit of gold.
15:19You're working the spray paint.
15:20Yeah, I did.
15:21What is that?
15:22Wings.
15:23You're joking.
15:24No.
15:26I'm not quite sure we're after costumes for Cirque du Soleil.
15:30What girl doesn't feel good when she puts on a pair of wings?
15:35But can you imagine what I'm talking about?
15:38She's not at a children's concert.
15:39She just went through cancer.
15:40Exactly.
15:41I'm finding it a little disrespectful to tell you the truth.
15:42I don't think it's disrespectful at all.
15:43You need to honor the challenge.
15:44I absolutely do.
15:45100%.
15:46I think it's great to have fun doing it.
15:47But most importantly, you're going to honor.
15:48Yeah.
15:49Yeah.
15:50Yeah.
15:59Thanks, Bryan.
16:00Designers, you'll have until one o'clock tonight.
16:01And until eight o'clock tomorrow night to complete your outfits.
16:16Good night, designers.
16:17Good night.
16:18Okay, do you guys like the wings or hate the wings?
16:23I love them because I want you to lose,
16:25but I hate them and the judges won't like them.
16:27Yeah, the judges won't like them.
16:28They will not like them.
16:30Yeah.
16:32I want you to lose, so use them.
16:35Right, right, okay.
16:37After talking to Brian, I decided to axe-chop the wings
16:41and just make a gown, even though they'd be glorious.
16:45Oh, I like them.
16:48This morning, I'm exhausted.
17:02I probably got a few hours of sleep,
17:04but I'm sort of excited to finish my garment.
17:07I think I'll get it done early this time.
17:12Oh.
17:14Post-it tone.
17:18I prayed last night that my garment would be done when I got here,
17:29but it's still on pieces.
17:30I don't know what's going to happen.
17:33Like, I just don't think there's enough time to do this nicely,
17:37like, cleanly, and not, they're all thrown together and looking crafty,
17:41so I'm not sure what's going to happen.
17:46Initially, I thought Jessica wouldn't have a problem with Post-its,
17:50but I guess she encountered some sort of roadblocks with her ideas.
17:54F*** me, this is not working.
17:58Ugh, I hate my life.
18:00Ah, that piece was sort of driving me crazy,
18:02and I don't want the judges to feel like, oh, she's got immunity,
18:05and she doesn't care.
18:06So I just came up with a different dress.
18:10I tinkered around with an idea of rolling the Post-its into, like, cones.
18:14So I just sort of took that and ran with it.
18:21Now I need to make 15,000 more of them.
18:24Really? Oh.
18:25I don't really know what I'm going to be doing with them.
18:27Oh, this looks so ghetto.
18:29It's going to be a total gong show.
18:33Good morning, designers.
18:34Hi, Brian.
18:36Everything looks beautiful.
18:38Great.
18:39You'll have until 8 o'clock tonight to finish everything.
18:42And now, I'm setting your models in.
18:46How's it going?
18:47Great to see you.
18:49Yes.
18:50And is this the bottom?
18:51Well, that was a different plan.
18:54New plan.
18:55New plan.
18:55So this is the sketch.
18:57I have lots of snowflakes.
18:59Oh, no.
19:00Some grass.
19:02All these flowers.
19:03Some bamboo.
19:04And I'm still making the vines.
19:07How's that?
19:08Good.
19:08Good, okay?
19:09Yep.
19:10I'm really happy that it fits.
19:11Perfect.
19:12Yay!
19:12Yeah.
19:14These are, like, really beautiful.
19:16They're sparkly.
19:17Sassy.
19:17They are.
19:18You put a lot of work into this.
19:20Well, you're an amazing woman,
19:21so I want to make something, like,
19:22beautiful and honoring of you, so.
19:27Wow.
19:28Amazing.
19:29Oh, I can't wait to see it all done.
19:31Yeah.
19:31It's important for me to be able to convey
19:34my message through this challenge,
19:36as well as making it to the next challenge.
19:39Love it.
19:40I'm so happy that you're happy with it.
19:46When's the last time you did arts and crafts, players?
19:48I don't know.
19:49When I was a little boy.
19:50I think I feel more comfortable around women.
19:55When I'm dealing with them on a personal level,
19:57I can build a relationship really fast.
20:00Kim is the funniest person in the room.
20:03She's a lunatic.
20:04Oh, yeah.
20:06There's lots of padding.
20:08She reminds me of, like,
20:09a crazy old homeless woman.
20:12What?
20:13But way hotter.
20:17My looks maybe have helped me
20:19in certain situations in my life,
20:20but definitely haven't gotten me to where I am today.
20:23I think I'm super talented,
20:25and I have a sparkling personality,
20:27and people are drawn to me for other reasons
20:29than just what's on the outside,
20:30and I truly believe that.
20:33Hmm.
20:34This part's so cool.
20:36Yeah, but it's not very trustworthy.
20:39Look at it the wrong way,
20:40and it's just like,
20:41and it falls off.
20:42Really?
20:43A few people are struggling with the challenge.
20:45I think Kim's a little panicked.
20:47It looks like a goddamn Gerber Daisy.
20:50I think Jean-Vievre, in particular,
20:52is definitely having problems
20:53because I know she wanted to do
20:54some sort of paper mache thing,
20:56and it didn't really work out for her.
20:57That's a lot of work.
20:59Yeah.
21:01Each one of us was doing something
21:03so tedious over and over again,
21:05but it was so time-consuming.
21:06When you don't have a lot of time,
21:07it gets really stressful.
21:14Next, on Project Runway Canada.
21:17Jessica's dress was hideous.
21:19It looked like something
21:19from Caroline Jocka Factory.
21:21I think construction
21:22is becoming my weakest link.
21:25Oh, man.
21:25I'm freaking out right now.
21:30Today is elimination day.
21:47We're hitting the runway,
21:48and I'm worried.
21:51I'm not really in a great place with a dress.
21:54Just to actually work with the paper,
21:55to fabric and building it,
21:57I'm struggling.
22:02Addie's looks really good.
22:04I have no idea
22:05I was going to get it finished
22:06because she has very little done,
22:08and it looks very complicated,
22:10and there's a lot of body left to go,
22:13so I'm a little bit worried for her for time.
22:19Wow.
22:19Good morning, designers.
22:22Good morning.
22:23You have two hours
22:24to complete everything

23:02It is absolutely gorgeous.
23:05Aww!
23:06I cannot believe that this is, you know,
23:09out of paper sticks.
23:11Exhale.
23:14Lynn tried on her dress, and it fit like a glove.
23:17Oh, this is amazing.
23:18It's amazing.
23:19Yeah.

24:00I am.
24:01um a fashion designer i think she is a fashion regurgitator
24:10what's the yellow thing at the back the yellow pieces those
24:14just drama and then i kind of thought i need something else and i didn't want to make the
24:20main detail that's why i like did a couple of these things i'm going to lay them so it kind
24:24of like gives a balance to like the same detail come back and look at it
24:29yellow is a great color it's a fantastic color they go okay do you need that pink strap up there
24:37is that's what holding up the dress no if you have a very strong dress do you need more drama
24:41is that overpowering the dress maybe see if you can refine things a little bit
24:51oh man i'm freaking out right now i'm kind of like feeling off a little bit and you know stress
24:57feels like it's setting in but jason meyers doesn't give up and jason meyers doesn't quit
25:16morning that is beautiful guys absolutely beautiful eyes will be blue for sure
25:23blue and very soft some and love love love mascara lots of curls lots of texture and then we'll just
25:30find a way to pin it up just very very loose oh that's beautiful
25:36so i'm thinking hollywood going to the oscars glam beautiful yes yes yes eyes will be very glamour
25:44will go with gold for sure we'll use her natural curl so we're going to take the curl power cream and get
25:50lots of volume really really defined and very romantic
25:58i really wanted the paper to sort of take on fabric look very oceany i feel like she's kind of
26:03crawled out of the ocean um then we have like kind of a japanese feel as well with the origami
26:08oh wow very nice i'm thinking the front maybe really clean but then in the back almost like a
26:13folded yeah look we're done here exactly super cool goes with the dress it definitely does awesome thank you
26:27everybody ready to go thumbs up tools down it's time for the runway designers let's go come on
26:35grab those creations and let's go down
26:46next on project runway canada
26:50it's amazing i love this don't listen to sean
26:54are you just put post-its up on the body
26:56i was just pissed about that so what you're just gonna hate on everyone that gets a good critique
27:06hello designers hello your challenge was to produce artistic but yet fashionable creations that
27:13celebrated your models women who have survived breast cancer your material was post-it notes
27:22let's meet the judges as always we're joined by sean hewson creative director of bustle clothing rita
27:30selban el canada editor-in-chief and today's guest judge fashion designer marie st pierre marie is known
27:38around the world for her distinctive style and an unconventional approach to fashion
27:44your designs will be auctioned off to raise money for the canadian breast cancer foundation let's start the show
28:03she looks gorgeous the dress is beautiful the colors are amazing the texture is amazing
28:08i'm a little upset about the stiffness of the skirt but yeah overall it was i thought it was gorgeous
28:21i focused on janice and gave her two thumbs up
28:25this is all about her i think it's important that people have to like give back
28:29and anytime you have an opportunity like this you don't want to disappoint for charities that you're working
28:33for
28:44i was just thinking like oh don't fall please it's a difficult dress to walk in this matter of paper
28:53i was happy like she did really good and i liked the way the dress looked
28:57when rula came out i thought she looked like a grecian goddess straight out of the heavens or
29:08something like she looked beautiful i was so proud of her and i was proud of me and i was
29:13really really really really happy
29:24i was really excited to see jane in the dress it was super time consuming and it looked really great
29:30on her and it was just a really fun piece in the end
29:33it's always really nice to see something that you're proud of on the runway
29:44lynn came down the runway and she looked awesome and when she smiled it was perfect
29:50i felt good about my garment because i was able to make post-its flow like fabric
30:03first i want to say to the models bravo really you women are strong and wonderful inspiration to
30:11all of us and you really rocked it on the runway
30:16james viev tell us about your design we all chose words and i was drawn to beauty because i think i
30:23design beautiful things and so i really just wanted to make something beautiful for her i wanted to make
30:28it a little more on the fashion side than just costumey paper i love the color palette i think
30:34it's beautiful it just looks like a monet painting i think it's it's a gorgeous dress and the silhouette
30:39is very very elegant it's very you this outfit the paper mache thing really clever and it was well
30:45executed my uh concern was just the the fact that you cut the line right there you make another technique
30:53that doesn't really blend with the bestie to me just made it less beautiful jason because it was for
31:01breast cancer i chose pink first as a palette yeah it was really challenging working with it it got to
31:06a point where it was like cardboard yeah it's tough i like the fact that you've tried to take on such a big
31:15task and you've definitely done something very very dramatic here the other dresses looked like dresses
31:21yours does not look to me like a dress it looks more like something that i would see you know like
31:27on a float the woman has to feel that she can move in the dress and that dress didn't move at all uh
31:35they had nothing creative it looked like a reject from a carnival something that was it's really i was
31:42i was disappointed sorry you hear that kim tell us about your dress my mom's name is vula
31:50and so when we were talking about her cancer story and what got her through it was her faith and so
31:57this outfit is sort of a joan of arc female warrior type of freedom fighter kim i love the color it's
32:04very uh feminine it's very ladylike and i think it suits your model very well it's more successful from
32:10the front than from the back the execution not quite the limit the belt i don't understand when you choose an
32:17accessory it's there to emphasis your creation not to kill it well the the ribbon is actually laced up
32:23the back of the dress yes i saw so i thought it would be why just to emphasize the waistline it's
32:29just the wrong touch at the wrong place well i have to lace the dress up with something yeah but
32:36they're just what she's telling you're not understanding she's telling you you didn't have
32:39to bring it up front with and make that little bow you could have left it at the back
32:43i like the tie at the back you know i think it's kind of cool how you've turned the tie
32:46which is a necessity into a design line on the front cool don't listen to sean listen to me and marie
32:53it's wrong jessica
32:55jessica when i met jane she said jane like plain old jane so i wanted to give her something that
33:01was definitely not plain at all and the word that we were working with was positive so for me the way
33:07i interpreted positive was to move from something dark to something light and make something beautiful
33:12out of something dark i think it's official that we have a new front runner in this competition because
33:16once again you have the best for me i think that's the best one i love this and i'm probably going to
33:21get in trouble from iman for saying this but to me this is very sort of galliano post-it couture
33:29thanks it's exuberant it's extravagant it's flamboyant it has a couture aspect to it
33:35so post-it couture okay we'll give you that execution impeccable it delivers a texture that
33:42could be recreated in fabric wow sunny my word was determination and basically she was determined to
33:51survive um she was a fighter and that reminded me of my father who was a fighter as well i thought of
33:58warrior i thought of survival of the fittest you know the fittest body the fittest mind the fittest
34:03attitude if you didn't know that she was wearing a dress made of post-its you couldn't tell and i'm
34:10suspecting that you had some hand in in the necklace as well yes yes that's post-its too it's amazing
34:16this is what we talk about when we say about innovation it's a beautiful dress it's genius i
34:21thought that you must have had a paper shredder or something back there i couldn't believe it when
34:25she walked out i mean that thing was moving like fabric my only criticism sunny would be that
34:30we have now seen that top from you at least twice before you know it
34:35now the jacket tell me about the dress my model's name is barbara and the word she chose is persevere
34:44i've had to persevere through many things including this challenge so uh the theme was to take the
34:50seasons like winter which is at the bottom and grid 8 to summer it's busy there is a lot going on the gold
34:57line the flower the accessory in the same material ouch you know simplify take off delete look at your work
35:07you can have the idea but you don't have to put it all on the dress it's too literal to really be
35:12fashionable thank you designers you can leave the runway while we decide who's in and who just doesn't
35:21measure up i feel weird that they thought your dress took so much work i don't feel like it took
35:29that much well those rolling rules took a lot of work yeah but you just put post-its up on the body
35:36okay i don't know i was just pissed about that because you started a dress and then stopped and
35:40then started another one and that and like the rest of us were like working tirelessly i was making those
35:45rolls that whole time all right go small yeah so what you're just gonna hate on everyone that gets a
36:08good critique like yeah that's lame okay genevieve you know it had some issues with movement on the
36:18runway and i it wasn't in my mind uh a very successful effort but then the more i looked at it the more i
36:25liked it as the model was just standing there and you saw the silhouette and you can appreciate the work
36:30that went into the dress it got better and better and better at the jacket to go
36:37literal on the story is it is not modern it's not current yeah that was it was busy but come on
36:45it's a not it's a dress for an auction made out of post-its some of the designers created dresses out
36:50of post-its some of them created costumes out of post-its and hers was very very much in costume
36:56territory this is a costumey challenge that's what i'm trying to say it's not it's not it's a fashion
37:01challenge some of the designs that we saw here are actually fashionable
37:09talking about things that work and things that didn't work let's talk about jason it looked like
37:14a panic attack when he said to me that he cut the front i wanted to say why did you go all the way
37:20to the back you know it does not work so cut off the train a paper nest posted to rest with a train
37:28that's a train wreck what is that
37:35what do you think about kim i liked it a lot from the get-go and then yeah liked it less and less
37:40from the get-go i didn't like it from the go get how about that you had nowhere to go i had nowhere to
37:46go it would it looked good at the runway in the sense that it had movement as it stood still it
37:50sort of uh it kind of fell flat yeah i love it how she defended her thing she'll defend anything you
37:57cannot defend that i'm sorry but she's a fighter no but they have to learn not to defend things that
38:02are undefendable i'm sorry sonny he is the one who understand understood the best how to work the fabric
38:14when the dress came down the runway the model was striding as though it were made out of fabric
38:20not out of paper yes absolutely jessica jessica she is right behind sonny she is only his tail
38:29that's why he has the holster on oh he's getting ready for battle jessica is really catching up yeah
38:35she is which is lovely to see a very very beautiful dress she stayed at the post-it level and still did a
38:40beautiful job with the post-its genius one of you will win this challenge but one of you will be out
39:00at this point in the competition there is no more immunity
39:04jessica one of you will win this challenge but one of you will be out jessica and sunny
39:15the winning vote was down to the two of you again and it was very very tight today's winner is
39:25jessica congratulations thank you your creation was truly inspiring and we are certain that it will
39:37fetch a pretty penny for the canadian breast cancer foundation you may leave the runway
39:43you may leave the runway thank you thanks
40:07now
40:36now it's down to you too jason and other jackie
40:44other jackie your creation had a lot to say you over conceptualized and the story gets lost in the
40:53design jason
40:59you're dressed with its drama and straps and the train
41:05green it was a train wreck
41:12and the jackie
41:18you will get another chance
41:19you will get another chance you may leave the runway
41:28so
41:33Jason, I'm sorry. It means you just didn't measure up.
41:41Let me down.
41:44I know.
41:46I want to let you go.
41:47I know.
41:49Thanks, Seth.
41:53That's lonely on the runway.
41:55I just wish I could have stayed here longer.
41:58I'm just frustrated that I went out on post-its.
42:00Post-its, man.
42:03You're a fabulous designer, and you're going to do really well.
42:07Because from all of this will come the Jason Meyers fan club,
42:11the Jason Meyers customer, the Jason Meyers...
42:14Because you love women, so go.
42:17That is true.
42:19Yeah.
42:20I love you, Seth.
42:22I'm really excited that the whole country is going to know who Jason Meyers is
42:28and see what I do.
42:30It's huge. It's great.
42:32But as a designer and as a talent, I shouldn't be out right now.
42:36No way.
