00:00Previously, on Project Runway Canada.
00:02Congratulations to you on making it to Toronto.
00:07You will choose four articles of clothing
00:10from your competitor's suitcase.
00:14That's a Hugo Boss f***ing shirt and an Armani f***ing shirt.
00:16I'm just not a cutthroat individual.
00:18I believe in karma.
00:20Megan seems upset because she's not very skilled at sewing.
00:23The seams are literally tearing.
00:25The winner of today's challenge cannot be eliminated in the next challenge.
00:33Congratulations, Marie Jonbeyev.
00:37I find the styling of the outfit a little bit odd.
00:39I think it's sort of gimmicky.
00:41Obviously, it's not wearable.
00:42You cannot create something that's not wearable.
00:45Darren, I'm sorry, but you just don't measure up. Ciao.
00:50The winner of Project Runway Canada will receive a cover
00:55and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine,
00:57a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L'Oréal Paris,
01:01a retail mentorship with winners,
01:03and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
01:09Welcome to Project Runway Canada,
01:11the search for the hottest new fashion designer.
01:1412 designers will compete.
01:24Three will make it to L'Oréal Fashion Week.
01:36But only one will rule the runway
01:39and win everything they need to start their own fashion line.
01:42Tempers will flare.
01:52Hemlines will fly.
02:01And remember, fashion isn't always pretty.
02:12Well, hello, designers.
02:17Hello.
02:18Are you ready for your next challenge?
02:20Yes.
02:22Well, Brian will give you all the details.
02:25But all I will tell you right now
02:27is that you are going to a location
02:30that will inspire your next creation.
02:33But I will give you one little piece of advice.
02:37Think green.
02:40Immediately we all figured environmentally friendly green,
02:45organic.
02:46I thought I had to make something out of grass,
02:48out of tree leaves.
02:49I don't know.
02:50Now, are you ready to select your models?
02:53Models, remember, this is a competition for you as well.
03:06The model who will be paired with the winning designer
03:09at the end of this series will appear on the cover
03:12and a feature spread in L Canada magazine.
03:16Now, Marie Genevieve.
03:19Yes?
03:20You won the last challenge and you worked with Chanel.
03:23Yes.
03:24Jessica was Darren's model.
03:26Marie Genevieve, the choice is yours.
03:29If you want to work with Chanel again,
03:31Jessica will be out.
03:33Or, everyone can pick up a new model,
03:38but you will go first.
03:40What do you want to do?
03:42Um...
03:44Well, I want to keep Chanel.
03:50I'm sorry, Jessica.
03:52That means you are out.
03:54Good luck.
03:55Ciao.
03:57Oh, my God.
04:01Now, that means the rest of you
04:03stay with your models from the previous challenge.
04:06Good luck.
04:07Ciao.
04:08We'll see you on the runway.
04:20Good morning.
04:26I got out this morning and I was pretty, uh,
04:28I was pretty nervous because it feels so real now
04:31that, uh, this is for sure a competition.
04:34Darren and I shared a bedroom,
04:35and now that he's gone, I'm sleeping good.
04:38You gotta be out in a half an hour, eh?
04:40Ah, .
04:47Ha!
04:48Message from Brian.
04:49Designers, today we're going green.
04:53Meet me at the park.
04:55Prime.
04:56Today we are going green.
04:57Meet me at the park.
04:58I hope we don't have to pick up garbage.
04:59Just one thing, I hope.
05:01We just wanted to work with real fabric
05:03as opposed to, like, random materials again.
05:05Oh, my God.
05:06If I have to use leaves to make a dress,
05:07I'm gonna kill someone.
05:14Designers, good morning.
05:16Come and join me over here.
05:18We didn't see what the stuff was
05:20because it was under a blue tarp.
05:22There were these green bins lined up
05:25beside the big pile.
05:27Designers, Iman said, think green.
05:30And I thought, let's take him to a park.
05:32This challenge is about saving the environment
05:36and making something beautiful.
05:39Would you like to see your material?
05:41Yes, I am.
05:42Are you sure?
05:43Yes.
05:44Yes.
05:48Voila!
05:50Beautiful.
05:51Look at the color.
05:52I saw a bunch of umbrellas that are made of nylon,
05:54possibly the most harmful material to make to the environment.
05:57So I don't really get what was so green about it.
05:59These are lost, broken umbrellas that otherwise would be put into a landfill site.
06:06Your challenge is to make a beautiful cocktail dress for a rainy day.
06:11Pick as many umbrellas as you feel you will need to create this cocktail dress.
06:17You can take as many as you like, but I strongly suggest that you only take as many as you need.
06:25You have two minutes. Use these bins. Go!
06:33I was trying to find as many things that match and coordinate with each other as possible.
06:42Mine was easy because I just wanted black.
06:45I didn't want to be stuck with no fabric like the last challenge.
06:50I just grabbed as many as I could and I grabbed like 15.
06:55Choose wisely.
06:57He said, be careful how many umbrellas you're taking.
07:00So I knew there's a catch because there's always a catch in all these challenges.
07:06Okay, designers, let's go back to the workroom and get started on the next creation.
07:15Just get to work, eh?
07:21Now that we've been through like one runway show, I don't think that's going to get any easier because I think the competition is just going to get tougher and tougher.
07:30Last challenge.
07:33I thought Megan would go. That's for sure. And I wasn't the only one who thought Megan would go, actually.
07:39I thought Megan should have been eliminated just because her dress wasn't the best in quality.
07:45On the last challenge, MG's garment was absolutely beautiful. The moment I saw it, I knew she was going to win and when Steven was the second worst, I wasn't very surprised because the styling of the outfit wasn't done properly.
08:00Not great to be in the bottom too. And I told them, I said, you know what, you work your ass off if you have to. You do not want to be in that position ever. I guess I'll just have to try harder.
08:14Do you know what you're doing?
08:17Yeah, I have a general idea.
08:20Yeah, me too.
08:21Everyone for this project choose like black and dark colors. And I went for yellow and royal blue and green.
08:28I have a lot of umbrellas. Some people picked seven. I picked 15.
08:36Designers. Designers, I hope you've chosen wisely because you will use all of the fabric from your umbrellas to create your dress.
08:47All of the fabric that you have chosen.
08:51Every single last bit.
08:53Every single last bit. Is that clear?
08:55So I ended up with 13 plaid umbrellas.
09:03Aye. It stings.
09:07This is a dangerous project.
09:09Some people are like, kind of screwed. Like, Vidal only took three and so now he's kind of like, oh, I don't have enough fabric.
09:17Poor Lincoln took like 15 umbrellas and now he's kind of like, oh, what do I do with that?
09:22I have 15 umbrellas.
09:25I'm feeling very nervous because 15 umbrellas, it's a lot of material. And I'm not making a ball gown. It's a cocktail dress.
09:34This is going to be the biggest dress I've ever made in my life.
09:37Next, on Project Runway Canada.
09:38Did you see MG's dress?
09:46If it's bad, it's bad, but it doesn't really matter.
09:47It's a lot of work.
09:48It's a lot of work and I hope you get it done.
09:49I'm really stressed out.
09:52It's so difficult.
09:53The purpose of this challenge is to reuse. So we're essentially taking broken and old, abandoned umbrellas and turning them into a dress.
10:11Catch is however many umbrellas we took, we have to make into the dress, which is turning out to be kind of difficult.
10:18Too greedy.
10:19Huh?
10:20I have 15 umbrellas here.
10:22Holy .
10:26I'm feeling awesome.
10:27That's good. I was feeling awesome my last challenge. I'm not feeling so awesome this challenge.
10:33MG must be having a good day, hey? Just playing around.
10:36Winning the last challenge gives me, like, confidence, that's for sure. It's good because, like, you know, I'm not going to be eliminated for sure, so I keep it easy for now.
10:50Keep, like, really good ideas for later on, so that's kind of my plan right now. I'm not really scared and I don't really care about that challenge.
10:57It's going to be sexy and beautiful.
11:00The dress is going to have ruching on the side. It's actually all crinkled and textured on one bus, continuing to the back.
11:09I'm just going to build a little Japanese garden on the side.
11:15I'm going to put strings here hanging.
11:18I don't think we should do anything else. I think it's gorgeous like that.
11:22Remember I over-designed?
11:25It looks nice on you, Luciana. Maybe you should want it.
11:27I know. Maybe I should wear it. I'm going to look for shoes to go with it.
11:36Thirteen.
11:42I'm just layering and layering and layering. Like, what else am I-
11:44No, it's gorgeous. This piece stuff.
11:46I want to treat these umbrellas as fabric. I don't want to get caught up in the fact that they are umbrellas and create something kitschy.
11:54I don't want it to come off garish. I need to hide like this one.
11:59I'm concerned that I have to use all of them.
12:06How is this fabric sew? Is it okay?
12:08It's like sewing with cardboard.
12:10I'm like worried about seams tearing.
12:12I haven't been impressed with Megan's work as yet, seeing as how she has such a big operation in Shanghai or something.
12:21I usually work on deadlines, but I also usually have a lot of people to do stuff for me.
12:25So when it comes to like sewing stuff, I have to think about things a lot more.
12:28Oh, .
12:33What do you think?
12:34I like it.
12:35I don't think it's too much.
12:37It's very Vivian Westwood.
12:41I picked a lot of plaid umbrellas because it just reminded me of that episode in Sex and the City where Charlotte went to the Highland dance.
12:48I like it, Lincoln. Stop second guessing.
12:51I was just trying to give him the confidence to keep going in that direction because I think it looks pretty cool.
12:57But I think it's pretty.
12:59I don't see why he was doubting it.
13:01I think Lincoln's just like that though, you know, he needs some kind of assurance from people that he's going in the right direction.
13:07When I was growing up, my parents always wanted more, you know, like coming in second is never good enough.
13:15I want to study fashion design after high school, but they basically said that if I don't go to university, they're going to cut me off.
13:25So and that's why I went into computer and science.
13:30I failed.
13:39So Evan, creativity is abundant for you, I think.
13:43And creativity is a fetish for me.
13:46So she's going to what type of cocktail party?
13:48Sin City.
13:49Sin City?
13:50Yeah.
13:51A little bit more to the story?
13:52My dress is for a fetish queen.
13:54She's going to drink your blood and make you drink your own blood and probably whip you a couple times and then do a little dance.
14:03So all your material is here?
14:05Yeah.
14:08It's going okay?
14:09Yeah.
14:10It's going good.
14:12But you never know.
14:14It went the last time too.
14:17Finishing details, very important.
14:19Yeah.
14:21You need to look at this, these little tuck things in here.
14:24You go from clean, then all of a sudden there's this tuck stuff happening.
14:26Yeah.
14:27Rather than just trying to take the shape maybe all out in one area, do it in two areas.
14:32Oh.
14:33All right?
14:34All right.
14:35Good luck.
14:36Okay.
14:37Looks interesting.
14:38Megan?
14:39I'm kind of doing this and I'm going to have like the little peplum on the bottom.
14:44Right.
14:45Okay.
14:46And then this is the collar.
14:47Sort of like this big poof.
14:55I think you should look at that again before you go to the work of putting it on.
14:59I was going to make a belt.
15:00Take a deep breath.
15:01No.
15:02I was going to make a belt and then do it like this.
15:06Just be careful that you don't add too much to it.
15:09It's a cocktail dress.
15:10You want to sell it at the end of the day.
15:11I'm not going to change my style to suit the judges.
15:15If they don't like it, then it's their opinion.
15:19Lincoln?
15:20How are you?
15:21Me?
15:22I'm fine.
15:23I don't have your job to do.
15:24Yeah.
15:25Lots of pattern.
15:26Yeah.
15:27I picked 15 umbrellas.
15:29Uh-huh.
15:30That's a lot.
15:31I know.
15:32You okay?
15:35I don't really have any problem except you getting it finished the way it needs to be done.
15:42Yeah.
15:43Okay?
15:44I have to hand stitch pretty much.
15:45That's a lot of hand stitching.
15:46It's a lot of work.
15:47Pretty much the whole dress.
15:48And you've got?
15:49Five hours.
15:51It's a lot of work.
15:52Yeah.
15:53And I hope you get it done.
15:56I'm really stressed out.
16:03It's so difficult.
16:14I love Lincoln so you know I was totally honest with him.
16:17I told him that yeah it kind of does look like a bunch of umbrellas just put together.
16:24He's going to have to really do a great pitch on it.
16:28Dude, I like lost it.
16:30I think as long as you can explain your idea behind it, it'll be fine.
16:34Yeah.
16:35How's it going?
16:38My dress is almost done again.
16:40Really?
16:41Yeah.
16:42I know how you do it.
16:43I've been making a living doing this for eight years and the only way I can make a living
16:47is if I do it fast.
16:48So I've trained myself to be very fast.
16:51I don't like to do a lot of work.
16:55I don't like to sit there for 12 hours.
16:57So if I can get it done sooner I'm going to so I can smoke.
17:09I sort of took off for a couple of hours.
17:12When I came back there was like this mad energy, race to the finish line, hand sewing going on.
17:21It's pretty intense in there.
17:26Oh f***.
17:30Look at you chill master.
17:32Chill master hey.
17:39Every stitch I did was looking better and better.
17:41More like a dress.
17:42And I got more confident.
17:46People are coming over and telling me that it's a nice dress.
17:48So I'm pretty confident that I'm going to be safe.
17:53It's very neat.
17:54No matter what they say, this is my style.
17:57If I am in the final two again, just shoot me.
18:02I swear to God, just shoot me.
18:11Let's take a look at the dress.
18:13I'm going to be done with my shirt.
18:14I'm going to be doing something.
18:15I'm going to be doing something.
18:16Good.
18:17You're making a hat.
18:18I think I kind of underestimate myself.
18:21I get really, ooh, that person is really good.
18:24This person has two stores, and this person is manufacturing in China.
18:28manufacturing in China and so I'm just like oh I'm just sewing out of my one
18:31bedroom studio I know I have what it takes inside me I just have to remember
18:36that did you see MG's dress yeah do you think she just did that because she's
18:42safe yes she said she picked like crazy colors just to see what the judges would
18:49say and like see how far she can take it I would love to actually just go on the
18:53catwalk and they say like you're exempt so you can leave the catwalk and just go
18:58away without telling me anything you would be fine as well you know so she'll
19:02bust out her ammunition on the next challenge I guess yeah for sure I'm
19:08gonna win the challenge for sure I was nervous at first and now I'm gonna win
19:12it positive thinking but I'm gonna win it first so I might have to wait next on
19:20Project Runway Canada you've got some fairly substantial pieces that need to
19:24be used it looks like a dress I really vain would wear to a cocktail party on crap
19:50next elimination is going to be so hard because everybody's friends I think the
19:55whole entire group of designers is really talented everybody's a bit
19:59intimidating especially Marie Jean Bia she is really really talented I had a
20:04little bit of struggle like making that dress if it's bad it's bad but it doesn't
20:08really matter and I'm not gonna be intimidated I'm trying to just like put
20:12layers and layers of the stupid fabric on the inside of this like strip at the
20:16bottom of my dress who I think is in danger is Megan her dress is completely
20:21in pieces still I think design is not about who can sew the best I don't think
20:26I'm a bad designer because of it oh no I just pulled my zipper off do you have to
20:33fix it I had to cut the end this is the top yeah you cut the wrong end you need to be
20:41able to sew well you need to be able to have exceptional design skills and Megan
20:47works in the fashion industry but she doesn't necessarily do all of those
20:51aspects good morning designers you're gonna have until noon to finish your
20:58garments you should all be thinking about your accessories behind you is of
21:03course the winners accessory wall fabulous pieces over there your models are
21:07coming in now I want you to look kind of bitchy did you just look at these
21:18uh-huh cuz in here this is your best bet
21:21I believe we made you guys umbrella dresses
21:28girlfriend I love my colorful umbrella dress accessories no no
21:36oh it's good somebody's good really good I've tried so hard to be really
21:47focused on this one just because of what happens with the last challenge I'm just
21:52like it's like I've got blinders on and I'm just like focusing on what I'm doing
21:57I don't think I'm in danger of being eliminated it just wouldn't make any
22:03sense beautiful you can use that for an accessory let me see it looks like she
22:12was caught in a bad storm but I'm trying to say like look no matter how much it
22:17rains you can't hurt me any more than I've already felt excellent
22:20Fidel dress is just it's disgusting it looks like a dress Avril Lavigne would wear to a cocktail party on
22:29crack okay honestly yeah good good job thanks Brian just so you know you got
22:36some fairly substantial pieces that need to be used so you need to put it's work
22:41yeah okay cuz that's being fair to everybody else yeah yeah I feel really
22:47good today I'm really happy with my dress I'm pretty confident that I'm gonna be
22:52safe or even when there's actually sometimes good art it's creating an
22:56honest mess I'm hoping for us good old save today oh it looks so cute the front
23:06of the dress is okay it's just to keep all the layers together so they don't move
23:10the origami pleats at the back have to be tacked down while it's on her body okay I
23:17think that was my issue put the ponytail in the front too when you walk I just want
23:22to see what's happening go I would like to just send you straight for hair and
23:25makeup so that I can start working on my stuff so let's go do that
23:28I love my dress because it is so couture I like things there I don't want to say
23:39over the top but they catch your attention definitely so this is all umbrella
23:43material yes everything look at the detail beautiful you guys don't have a
23:47little red hair extension just like a fine one somewhere maybe possibly do you
23:52want a little red in there just a little you know like I don't want it like a big
23:55patch like a skunk you know if I don't have an extension we could even just maybe
23:58paint it on
24:01hello gorgeous how are you I'm good I thought about my models look a lot more
24:07this time around in this challenge basically bunched to the side loose at the
24:12front I'm hoping to do a lot more with their makeup than I did last time I
24:15like the idea with the eyelashes just outside I like that and I think we could
24:21do something very soft on the lips
24:27do you have extensions you know what we have them but honestly there's no time
24:32okay that's fine just go with what she's got them okay the dress is inspired by
24:37Japanese culture before makeup I want the geisha makeup what should we do hmm
24:45seriously don't worry because I was stressed out because when I saw everyone
24:50like yeah with those black fabric and making like those chic dresses just bring it on if
24:57they want to like Brian Brian said Brian was blown away he's just like you I don't know how you do it but
25:06you do it every time no exactly do you think it's a big deal if I didn't take in my skirt at the
25:11side there's wax all over this it's dirty if somebody needs help then I'm gonna help
25:17them because I know how nerve-wracking it is look there's all on the bottom of it
25:21do you have scrap material I like Megan and I just want to make sure she at least get her dress out
25:27I don't want to do a ruffle from the top perfectly
25:45okay designers it's time to put all your tools down it's time for the show okay let's have some
25:52fierce runway right now next on project runway Canada you grabbed too many umbrellas didn't you
26:01did you really try hard I've got a strategy you know not how I feel about excuses I have no excuses
26:07it's a disaster the fashion world's mean one of you will be out
26:11hello again designers this challenge really tested your ability to work with unusual fabrics you had
26:33to design a cocktail dress by recycling old umbrellas now it's time to face the judges again first from
26:44El Canada editor-in-chief Rita Sullivan next from bustle clothing Sean Hewson and our special guest judges
26:53members today are Trevor Rain and Richie Rich from Heather Ritz a fabulous design duo who know how to make design and have fun with it
27:04fashion is not an easy industry
27:08sure yep spit you out yep makes you emotional blood sweat and tears always hello
27:13now designers it's time to start the show
27:23when I saw my dress coming down the runway I felt extremely nervous but at the same time
27:30I'm happy because it looked pretty good
27:44when I go to any fashion show that I take it very seriously but that's just me being a perfectionist freak so
27:53I felt great because the look totally came together and I thought that it didn't even look like umbrellas
28:08it looked like silk so I was very excited
28:23it's definitely like really different than everybody else and it was like really colorful so it was kind of a rainbow on stage you know
28:32when I saw my model the collar was like starting to fall flat I liked my concept but I didn't put it together well and that's my fault so I mean I still knew that it was on the line
28:51I'm very experienced and I really know what I'm doing
29:06I'm an artist as well so I don't want to just cut patterns
29:13I always get a little nervous when my model comes out but she did a very good job she had a little small
29:25she showed off the back really well
29:28this dress definitely will make you stand out in the crowd in a good way because it accentuates
29:43models legs her beautiful body and everything went very well
29:48my outfit it would look great in a fashion editorial it would look great on a real person
30:01even with a person with maybe some figure flaws I really think it's a great dress
30:07when my model walked out I shit my pants because I thought it was the nicest dress on the catwalk
30:22oh my god my model it was hilarious
30:36I gave her an umbrella and she looked terrified it was dark and bitchy and hard-edged
30:43if I say your name please step forward
31:02you
31:04so
31:06Sophia
31:09you

31:25you
31:29Megan.
31:30Lincoln.
31:31The rest of you, you've done well enough to stay in the competition for now.
31:54You may leave the runway.
32:07You designers are the ones who scored the highest and the lowest.
32:15Let's bring out your marbles.
32:26Sophia, we'll start with you.
32:29This dress is for a woman that is confident and loves being in the spotlight.
32:36Well, that's me, but I wouldn't wear it.
32:39You grabbed too many umbrellas, didn't you?
32:40You were trying to use up the fabric.
32:42I had a lot of umbrellas.
32:43It looks like you have too much fabric on that dress.
32:45I love the theatricality of this dress.
32:48It's very Issey Miyake.
32:49I love this dress.
32:50It actually wrote, it makes me want to drink champagne, because it just, I don't know,
32:53it looks like a party dress to me.
32:55I dig it.
32:56I love the shape of it, but I feel like there's branches that are going to reach out and grab
32:59you.
33:00I expected more than that from you.
33:03Andra.
33:04Well, I had 13 umbrellas, and I think I grabbed every plaid umbrella I saw.
33:10And not every umbrella really matched, so I kind of created the little flaps and kind
33:17of layered them.
33:18I used the darkest one on top so that it was more muted and toned down.
33:22Some of the other ones, I mean, we see a lot of fitted up top, messy volume down below,
33:27and it's, you know, you've managed to buck that trend in a way that I think is interesting.
33:32It looks great.
33:33I think it's well structured.
33:34I think when you first look at it, you don't really see umbrella, but then if you say it's
33:38inspired by umbrella, I totally get it, and I think that's kind of cool.
33:41Yeah, very waterproof Burberry.
33:43A bit damn.
33:46I didn't want it to look like a tent or an umbrella or any of that, so I just tried to
33:52stay away from that.
33:53You stick out from this crowd because it is so different, and I like it because it's
33:57kind of like if Avril Lavigne was going to a cocktail party, I think she'd throw some
34:00Chanel shoes on and hit the town in that little number.
34:03Like, she's the bad girl, without doubt.
34:06I think it's like punk princess does cocktail hour.
34:09I totally hated the dress on the runway, but I'm turning around slightly.
34:13I'm sort of impressed with the structure and the tailoring.
34:16Yeah.
34:17I know a thousand girls that would buy this dress tomorrow.
34:19Oh, so you think.
34:20Of my friends.
34:21Oh, your friends.
34:22I've got a lot of friends.
34:23Let's go to Megan.
34:25I was just sort of thinking back to when I lived in New York, just sort of Fifth Avenue
34:30kind of girl.
34:31Sort of very chic.
34:32I don't like to do a lot of poofy stuff.
34:35I like stuff to be a little cleaner.
34:37This doesn't speak to me in terms of cleanliness at all.
34:40I want to come up and take the neck off it.
34:41It was actually supposed to be, like, a little higher.
34:44Like, if you scrunch it, it kind of stays.
34:46And then, you know what I mean?
34:48So, when it fills with air.
34:50But it's not doing that.
34:52I know.
34:53I needed to, like, starch it.
34:54I needed to starch it or something.
34:56Because when it gets, it's lined.
34:57I had to use the fabrics that had to be lined and it gets air.
34:59So it kind of, when you, it's, the idea was for it to be, like, tighter like that.
35:04I'm very disappointed in this outfit.
35:07The tailoring is very, very poor.
35:09I feel like she's wearing kind of a hot water bottle around her neck.
35:13She doesn't look comfortable at all.
35:18Lincoln.
35:19What I wanted to do is to basically create a lot of different shapes.
35:24Pleating and tucking the whole dress.
35:28Pretty much.
35:29It looks quite bulky to me in a lot of areas.
35:32In the bust especially.
35:33Trevor and I at Heatherette, like, we think there's a fine line between, like,
35:36if you're going to go there and be really theatrical and costuming,
35:38you have to do it really clean.
35:40Like, you have to do it really with a zest.
35:42And this just reads Mary Poppins to me in, like, a Broadway musical kind of way.
35:47Sorry.
35:48Well, yeah, I think you're putting it nice.
35:50I think that it's a disaster.
35:52The thing that bothers me the most is the length of the skirt.
35:54It's not flattering at all.
35:56It's bulky.
35:57It's clumsy.
35:59It's not in any way alluring.
36:02To me, it's a design student dress.
36:06Marie-Jean Viève.
36:09I took seven baby umbrellas and umbrellas for children.
36:12Like, okay, I'm going to make it really into something childish a little bit.
36:17The cut is quite simple as well.
36:19My issue with it is, you know, you could see that it's made of an umbrella.
36:22And I think in the context of this challenge, that's actually a negative.
36:25I'm very curious.
36:27Did you really try hard?
36:29Because you have immunity.
36:30Yeah.
36:31You didn't try hard.
36:32Well, I've got a strategy, you know.
36:35I was just trying to make something, like, completely different.
36:38And it's like a test as well, you know, to test, you know, test you guys as well and see what do you think.
36:44Excuse me.
36:45Excuse me.
36:46You're testing us.
36:47Don't underestimate this group.
36:50I think it's disrespectful to blow off any of the competitions.
36:53And to just say I have immunity so I think I can coast on this one is very disappointing.
36:58It's definitely a negative.
36:59Not like we're going to forget about this next week.
37:02Designers, you can leave the runway while we'll discuss what you've told us.
37:16I want it to be you who's safe.
37:18I hope it's me who's home.
37:20I just want you to put it in.
37:22I hope it's me.
37:23I hope it's me.
37:24I'm sorry.
37:25I didn't want you to relax.
37:26Well, that was interesting.
37:30Yeah, that was fun.
37:31It was like the circus.
37:32Well, let's start with, ouch, Sofia.
37:35She had too many umbrellas and she pasted them all on there.
37:38Actually, I would wear that dress.
37:40You know, you wear it with a simple hose, nice shoes.
37:43It has personality and it also shows you have a sense of humor.
37:46Let's talk about Meghan.
37:50I think this was a very poor showing.
37:52The top looked weird and the model looked very uncomfortable.
37:56If she came to Heatherette to work, I think she wouldn't last a day because we would just be like, go!
38:01What about Lincoln?
38:06I think Lincoln didn't try hard enough.
38:08If I were getting ready for a cocktail party, this is not the dress that I would reach for.
38:12I don't know what else to say.
38:13I don't even understand what was good about that dress.
38:16I mean, it was boring.
38:17None of you had anything good to say about Lincoln.
38:20No.
38:21The fashion world's mean, you know.
38:27Kendra.
38:28I think she's talented, definitely.
38:29Yeah.
38:30And I thought that was nice and crisp, the way she did the layers.
38:32There was a certain play on the volume there that was different than what we've seen.
38:35And it was well tailored.
38:36I thought it was a good dress.
38:38Really good dress.
38:42Vidal.
38:43I think it's kind of cool that it stands out from everybody else.
38:46I liked his dress because it reminded me of that girl at the party that's just going to, like, get drunk and she's just going to be the one that doesn't care.
38:52And you always love that kind of girl, you know.
38:54He doesn't need the gimmicks.
38:56Because the outfit itself was like...
38:58A lot.
38:59Really a lot.
39:02Marie Genevieve.
39:04She admitted that she didn't try very hard.
39:07I was definitely a fan of Maria until she opened her mouth and said that she wasn't really trying.
39:11It's a strike against her.
39:13She better nail the next one.
39:17We're all happy.
39:18Okay, let's bring them in.
39:26As you know, sometimes in fashion, you just don't measure up.
39:32One of you has won this challenge.
39:35And one of you will be out.
39:37Today's winner will have immunity for the next challenge.
39:38Are you ready to find out who has won?
39:40Congratulations.
39:41Kendra.
39:42Kendra.
39:43We all agree you created a win.
39:44You just don't measure up.
39:45You just don't measure up.
39:46One of you has won this challenge.
39:48And one of you will be out.
39:50Today's winner will have immunity for the next challenge.
39:52Are you ready to find out who has won?
39:54Congratulations, Kendra.
39:56We all agree you created the best design.
39:57And we appreciate your excellent execution.
40:03Well done.
40:04You can lead the runway.
40:05Told you.
40:06It's very exciting.
40:07I wasn't expecting to win, honestly.
40:08Not everyone liked everything.
40:09It's very exciting.
40:10It's very exciting.
40:11I wasn't expecting to win, honestly.
40:13Not everyone liked every single dress.
40:14So it was sort of a toss-up.
40:15Whoosh.
40:16Marie Genevieve.
40:17If you did not have an immunity coming from you,
40:20you're going to be the best design.
40:21You're going to be the best design.
40:22And we appreciate your excellent execution.
40:23Well done.
40:24You can lead the runway.
40:25Told you.
40:26It's very exciting.
40:27I wasn't expecting to win, honestly.
40:28Not everyone liked every single dress.
40:29So it was sort of a toss-up.
40:30Whoosh.
40:31Marie Genevieve.
40:32If you did not have an immunity coming into this challenge,
40:36you would have been in big trouble.
40:39In the real world of fashion, immunity does not exist.
40:43I never, ever want to hear that excuse again.
40:47I'm not expecting to win, honestly.
40:48I'm not expecting to win, honestly.
40:49Not everyone liked every single dress.
40:50So it was sort of a toss-up.
40:51Whoosh.
40:52Marie Genevieve.
40:53If you did not have an immunity coming into this challenge,
40:56you would have been in big trouble.
40:59If you did not hear that excuse again.
41:00Okay.
41:01I'm sorry.
41:02You can leave the runway.
41:04Bidel.
41:05Hi.
41:06Your design stood out most from your competitors.
41:21But don't start believing your own hype.
41:26You can leave the runway.
41:29Oh, Patel!
41:30It's not a surprise.
41:31Sofia.
41:32You are still in the competition.
41:34You can leave the runway.
41:38You can leave the runway.
41:42Now, we're down to you, too.
41:44Lincoln.
41:45Lincoln.
41:46We felt you were overwhelmed.
41:47Not only by your fabric, but by this challenge.
41:49Your design was unflattering.
42:20will ever wear that to a cocktail party.
42:27Megan, if you are going to do Fifth Avenue,
42:33it better be impeccable.
42:37And your dress was not.
42:50Megan, at least you had a point of view.
42:56You are just barely in this competition.
43:05You can lead the runway.
43:20Megan.
43:24I wanted it to be me, not him.
43:26Lincoln is gone.
43:28I honestly, like they said my name, I was like, oh.
43:32Lincoln, that means you just didn't measure up.
43:41Good luck.
43:43Thanks.
43:44Bye.
43:50Hey.
43:54Hey.
43:56Ready?
44:04I'm so scared.
44:06Designers.
44:08We've come to the end of another challenge in Lincoln.
44:11Give me a hug.
44:12You did a fabulous job when we were here.
44:14And you know what?
44:15There are great things to come in the future, okay?
44:17And what I'd like you to do now is just go downstairs
44:19and clean up your workspace.
44:22Love you, Lincoln.
44:23Love you, Lincoln.
44:24Bye.
44:25Bye.
44:26I get to show, at least for a little bit,
44:28what I'm good at doing.
44:31What I believe in is that everything happens for a reason,
44:34and it's always for the better.
44:36Somebody's going to see my work,
44:37and they might sponsor me to start my own collection,
44:40whereas, you know, instead of winning the $100,000.
44:43So if you're out there, give me a call.
44:45I'm ready.
44:50Next time on Project Runway Canada,
44:53you will meet some very special guests at a party.
44:57Hello, Designers!
45:00Ugh.
45:01We needed a cocktail at that point.
45:04How much is this?
45:06$7.99.
45:07You have until 5 o'clock today to finish everything.
45:12All right?
45:14I'm dying like I can't.
45:15I don't want to do this anymore.
45:16I think I'm probably at least likely to be here at the end.
45:21I need a red f***ing carpet.
45:23I can't believe you are calling this tech.
45:26I think you need to get out of your comfort zone.
45:28This was your opportunity to step out and do something kind of crazy.
45:32It's not even sexy, and it's not edgy.
45:35.
45:43.
45:46.
45:52.
45:57.
46:00You
