00:00Previously on Project Runway Canada.
00:03You're going to Southern California.
00:06The challenge is to design a resort look for your model and yourself.
00:13Details, it's absolutely hideous.
00:15Lucien is John Travolta, Saturday Night Fever.
00:19Don't that.
00:21I really don't care if they like my outfit.
00:23Marie Geneviève, congratulations.
00:29You are the winner of this challenge.
00:31Lucien, you went overboard.
00:34Jeannette, I'm very sorry, but you just don't measure up.
00:39I'm sorry.
00:42The winner of Project Runway Canada will receive a cover and a feature spread in Elle Canada magazine,
00:48a professional portfolio photo shoot courtesy of L'Oréal Paris,
00:52a retail mentorship with winners and $100,000 to start their own fashion line.
01:00Welcome to Project Runway Canada, the search for the hottest new fashion designer.
01:13Twelve designers will compete.
01:15Three will make it to L'Oréal Fashion Week.
01:22But only one will rule the runway and win everything they need to start their own fashion line.
01:41Tempers will flare. Hemlines will fly.
01:44And remember, fashion isn't always pretty.
01:54It was pretty.
02:17Okay, Bedell, you have to get up now.
02:19Well, it's almost over.
02:20This is the last challenge, and I'm just kind of at peace.
02:29I'm in the top four.
02:34And it feels amazing.
02:37You know, I'm still the only designer to have not won a challenge.
02:42I know there's tons of people out there who would actually buy my stuff.
02:46I just want to have my name on, like, my clothes and sew and just express myself and show what I can do.
02:55If I were to win this challenge, it would mean that I made a strong comeback because I almost got eliminated.
03:03It would give me a lot of confidence to do that.
03:05Hello, designers.
03:06Hello.
03:07Hello.
03:08Hello, Brian.
03:09Hi.
03:10Were you expecting somebody prettier?
03:11No, you look amazing.
03:12It was kind of weird, anyway, to see Brian on stage because usually it's always human to, you know, who's coming on stage.
03:18Designers, your challenge is to create a dress for an icon that needs no introduction.
03:41Hello, designers.
03:42Hello, Iman.
03:43Hello, Iman.
03:44The three finalists of Project Runway Canada will show collections at L'Oreal Fashion Week and I will be sitting in the front row.
04:09And I need something fabulous to wear.
04:13Who will dress me for L'Oreal Fashion Week?
04:20This is something we've all been waiting for, you know, I mean, this is, this is hardcore.
04:25She's worn the best designers' dresses, you know.
04:29To achieve that, it's not easy.
04:32You will each get five minutes one-on-one with Iman.
04:36Well, that's where I make my exit.
04:39Bye.
04:42Okay, let's bring out the models.
04:43As you know, this is a competition for the models as well.
04:53The model paired with the winning designer will get a cover and an inside spread in L'Canada magazine.
04:59Marie-Jean-Bièvre, you were the winner of last challenge.
05:04You can choose your model first.
05:06Who would you like to work with?
05:08I'm going to keep my beautiful tray.
05:11You can leave the runway.
05:17Lucien, who would you like to work with?
05:19I'd like to stay with Chanel.
05:21Vidal.
05:22I've already learned so much from Ashley and I'm going to stick with her.
05:28She's amazing.
05:30Congratulations.
05:32Steven, you're the last navy in the bag.
05:37We have Jacqueline and Renee.
05:42The model you choose will be in and the model you don't choose will be out.
05:49Who would you like to work with?
05:51I think you're great, Jacqueline, but I just can't think of doing anything without Renee.
05:57Sorry.
06:02I'm sorry.
06:03Okay.
06:05Good luck.
06:07Thanks.
06:08Bye.
06:12Now you all have your models.
06:14Are you ready for me?
06:16Marie-Jean Veve, you're up first.
06:18Come with me.
06:19Oh, nice.
06:20Follow me.
06:28I'm so excited about that new challenge.
06:30So am I.
06:31It's super exciting, you know, just to chat with Iman and like design and create something just for her.
06:38What's your favorite part of your body?
06:40Mmm.
06:43My waist.
06:45Nice to meet you.
06:46Oh, nice meeting you.
06:47One to one.
06:49This is a more important challenge than any challenge has been.
06:54Chocolate or vanilla?
06:55Vanilla.
06:57Have you or would you ever go skydiving?
07:00Done it.
07:01How many times?
07:02Twice.
07:03What about bungee jumping?
07:04Five times.
07:05Hello, Iman.
07:06What a treat this is.
07:08They use a treat for me too.
07:11Oh, wow.
07:13I mean, if anybody knows me, they'll know that Iman can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned.
07:20I probably looked like an idiot when I was interviewing her because I probably had this big smile.
07:25Okay, so I have some questions.
07:27Yes.
07:28Your favorite designer?
07:30Galliano.
07:31Galliano.
07:32Okay, so I'm going to make a beautiful dress for you.
07:37Yes.
07:38I'm very excited to make this dress for Iman.
07:41I think it's an amazing challenge.
07:43I'm looking for something that's, you know, sensual, something sexy, something romantic, something sophisticated.
07:49A classic, elegant, sexy silhouette.
07:54Okay.
07:57Favorite singer?
07:58David Bowie.
07:59Favorite singer?
08:00David Bowie.
08:01Worst body part?
08:02Something to hide?
08:03I never tell.
08:04Okay.
08:06Do you prefer texture over structure?
08:11Uh, no.
08:12I like both.
08:13You like both?
08:14Yeah.
08:16First concert?
08:17Somali music.
08:18Where I come from, yeah.
08:20Who would you like to be if you were not Iman?
08:23Iman, too.
08:24Iman, too.
08:25Iman, too.
08:26That's perfect.
08:27Wow.
08:28That's the best answer ever.
08:33Now I'm like, am I going to make a gown?
08:36Am I going to make a dress?
08:37Am I going to make just a cute little outfit?
08:39Um, I don't know.
08:41I'm confused.
08:42I guess that's about it.
08:44I hope you have enough to go by.
08:46If you lost an arm in an accident and you could replace it with anything, what would you replace it with?
08:53And you can also say another arm.
08:57Definitely another arm.
08:58Another arm.
08:59I really think she's going to pick my dress.
09:01I do.
09:02If that's all I need, it's a real treat, I have to say.
09:06I'm not saying she's an oracle or anything, but I mean, she's, you know, she's like up there.
09:17Next, on Project Runway Canada.
09:20Can I have you back, please?
09:21Yeah, right after I cut it.
09:23Think sexy, sexy, sexy.
09:26Relax, you're shaking like there's a big windstorm around you.
09:37Here we are, designers and Leos.
09:39Everything you want is here.
09:40Let's go.
09:41It needs to be light.
09:42Not like that.
09:43I know I'm going to make a pretty simple black dress and it's not going to be over the top, it's not going to be costume, it's not going to be too much and I'm doing it for a man.
10:02Stephen, I haven't even seen you drag anything off a roll yet.
10:08Start playing with the fabric.
10:09No?
10:10How about like that?
10:11That's a better goal.
10:12It's a better goal.
10:13The fabric that I ended up with, it's kind of a oyster champagne color. If you want to put it simply beige. It's beautiful.
10:23How much is this?
10:24This is 18 per yard.
10:25I knew exactly what I'm going to do before I went to the store. I didn't want to go black. I think gunmetal is more sophisticated and so I chose this silver grey, very beautiful.
10:43Oh wow. Does it look like a silver?
10:46Silver.
10:53Who took my roll from here? Evan, did you take my roll? I have the roll here. Oh great.
10:57Up here?
10:58Up here.
10:59Brian just passed me this.
11:00Can I have it back please?
11:02Yeah. Right after I cut it.
11:05Come on, don't miss. I don't like this.
11:08I just told him I'm going to use it just to piss him off and it did.
11:12I think it just shows weakness. He's a little worried.
11:15He does that on purpose to take you off.
11:19People that do that are nasty people and I don't like having them around.
11:23Brian, these are my materials. Please don't pass them to anybody else.
11:26Oh, then you carry it around with you the next time.
11:29This is my pile. I just wanted to make it clear.
11:31Everybody, this is Lucien's pile. Don't touch it because you'll be in deep crap.
11:37Right?
11:39I'll take all of this.
11:41Time's up. Time to go back to the workroom.
11:57Good morning.
11:58Are you kidding me?
12:00I've done a lot of detailing with pleats. I really like pleats, but I don't see Iman wearing pleats, so I'm going to make a plaid out of it.
12:17I'm just sort of like cutting blindly. It's going to sort of go dark, medium to light plaid, weaving down the sides of her dress. The dress is going to be wicked. Sweet.
12:32Do you think it's wrong to redo my umbrella dress?
12:35You can do something like inspired, but not exactly the same.
12:40Do you think she would remember? Of course she's going to remember. But do you think it's worth like, because they totally overlooked it the last time.
12:49I don't know.
12:51I don't know.
12:52MG, what do you think?
12:54I mean, it's really pretty, but it's the umbrella.
12:56It's the umbrella dress.
12:57It's the umbrella.
12:58Oh, poo.
13:02I'm going to start sewing my shitty dress.
13:10Shitty?
13:11No, I'm kidding.
13:12My beautiful little MG black dress.
13:15So I'm going to take my time to do it because it's simple, you know what I mean?
13:19So, we'll see.
13:25Okay, what about this?
13:26It'll cover her ass.
13:27It's pretty.
13:28I think she wants to show her ass, though.
13:30She has a fantastic ass.
13:33You want to make the woman happy because you don't get the opportunity to dress Imant very often.
13:40I don't think ever.
13:42I'm kind of undecided yet.
13:44The other three designers, they're doing gowns, whereas I do things that tend to be more simpler on the minimal side.
13:53Okay, I'm going to start mine.
14:05How's it going?
14:06I don't know.
14:07I'm kind of just doing things, you know?
14:09How about you?
14:10I want to do two tops.
14:12In case one of them is just like a disaster, then I can switch it out.
14:20That's so weird for me to do that.
14:22I'm doing black.
14:23What?
14:25I'm doing elegant.
14:26What?
14:27I've never done anything like clean and black.
14:31Sexy, simple.
14:33You know?
14:34It's so bizarre.
14:36It's probably my favorite piece you've made so far.
14:38Really?
14:39Interesting.
14:46That's a beautiful guitar.
14:48It's the look I wanted.
14:49Yeah, well, you did all that.
14:51Yeah, but it took like forever.
14:55Oh, it's so beautiful.
15:10But I don't have enough.
15:11Now I really wanted silver.
15:12Now that I don't have enough.
15:13Maybe Vidal has fun.
15:15He doesn't.
15:16He didn't buy this.
15:17Plus, he wouldn't give it to me.
15:18Are you joking?
15:19Oh.
15:20If he's not using it.
15:21It's Vidal, dude.
15:22He's not going to give it to me.
15:31MG?
15:32Trying to make a little black dress.
15:35Especially to go to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
15:37I don't think she wants like, you know,
15:39a crazy evening gown dress, you know?
15:42She wants to be comfortable as well.
15:43Watch the bustline.
15:45I've always found that the most important thing
15:47when you have a detail in a little black dress
15:49is the shape of your neckline.
15:50The sexy of the neckline?
15:52It's important for her, that's for sure.
15:54Mm-hmm.
15:55What's happening on the bottom?
15:56The length's going to be maybe, I don't know,
15:58the knee?
15:59Yeah, below the knee.
16:00Yeah.
16:01Think sexy, sexy, sexy.
16:02Do not fall away from that.
16:03Oh, okay.
16:04Okay?
16:05Yeah. Thank you.
16:06You're welcome.
16:07Evan.
16:08Hey, Brian.
16:09It's close.
16:10I don't have as much constructed as I normally do
16:11at this point.
16:12This is going to be the focal point of the back,
16:14and so I want to keep the rest pretty streamlined.
16:16I know this is kind of young for her, but she was talking
16:20about Somalia, and so I thought basket weaving,
16:22and she was talking about vanilla over chocolate,
16:24so I went light, and skydiving and bungee jumping,
16:26so she likes to, you know, still be risky, but...
16:29Live once?
16:30Exactly, and, like, risk wearing a dress like this.
16:33You have a lot of work ahead of you.
16:35Mm-hmm.
16:36Work smart, work fast, but you really need to focus in
16:39on the hard parts, because this dress requires
16:42extreme delicate finishing.
16:44Yeah.
16:47Okay, Steven.
16:48Let me show you something.
16:49Seaming details are beautiful.
16:51Thanks.
16:52So I'm just going to, like, do that kind of...
16:54That's gorgeous.
16:55Relax.
16:56You're shaking like there's a big windstorm around you.
16:58Love the seaming detail coming into there,
17:00and I think that you just got to get on with it and do it.
17:02Yeah, totally.
17:03No, I love it.
17:04I love this dress.
17:05I, um, just have one question, though.
17:07What's that?
17:08There was this, and then there's this,
17:11which is kind of like a little cap sleeve.
17:13What's your gut instinct tell you?
17:15Probably that one.
17:16There you go.
17:17Okay.
17:18Get busy and make it happen.
17:19I will.
17:20Okay.
17:22Hey, Lucien, how's it going?
17:23I don't have a problem.
17:24I really love this color, as you know.
17:26I fought over it.
17:28I want to use it for the whole dress,
17:29but this is all I have.
17:30So you don't have enough to do that?
17:32How long are you going to do the dress?
17:33No, mid-cap.
17:34You have enough to do it.
17:35You think so?
17:36Absolutely.
17:37Right there.
17:38There's your length.
17:39You've got enough fabric in the charcoal
17:40to totally do that dress,
17:41and you've got a lot of work ahead of you,
17:43as usual.
17:44Designers, you have still midnight,
17:46and then it's back to the Rosemont
17:48for your last evening there.
17:50What's this jewelry?
17:56Don't touch.
17:58Don't touch.
17:59That's mine.
18:00I think I'm going to take this.
18:01I'm going to kick your ass.
18:03Please.
18:04I've been waiting for you to kick my ass.
18:09Is this that fabric you wanted to fight me for?
18:11Yeah.
18:12Bitch, like what's up with that, taking my fabric?
18:13I did not take your fabric for one.
18:15I was holding it, and then you accused me of taking it.
18:17So I told you, fuck off, I'm going to cut it,
18:19and you got so mad.
18:20Well, I told you, give it back to me, bitch,
18:22and you gave it to me, and that's it.
18:24I didn't have time to get mad.
18:26Yeah, but you get told on me, so whatever.
18:29This is the fabric you picked a fight over,
18:31so I hope you love it.
18:33It's beautiful.
18:36Loving it.
18:38Look at that.
18:40God, look at these puckers.
18:42Can you press them out?
18:44I tried to, and for some reason they're still there.
18:47That I can't do anything about
18:49because I can't take that out.
18:51Oh, too.
18:53All right, let's go.
18:56Next, on Project Runway Canada.
19:03Every stop has to be pulled.
19:06I'm going to freaking do that.
19:08She's going to kick your ass
19:09when making a short dress like that.
19:11I feel like a heart attack.
19:12Oh, my God.
19:26Today is not just Elimination Day.
19:28The final Elimination Day.
19:31It's filled with a lot of emotion.
19:33The usual fright and terror
19:36mixed in with a bit of, you know, melancholy and sadness.
19:40This is kind of an emotional day for me.
19:47We've come a long way, and it's been a real experience for me.
19:51I never thought in my lifetime I would be mentoring this new generation of fantastic artisans.
19:57And now we're down to four.
19:59You cannot, at this point, back off one ounce.
20:04Every stop you've got in you has to be pulled.
20:07That dress going down that runway has to be perfection personified.
20:13This is your final chance to be one of the three that competes in the L'Oreal Fashion Week.
20:19And you all want it.
20:20You will have until one o'clock today to really kick it up a notch.
20:25Let's go.
20:27Bring in the models.
20:31Hi.
20:32How are you?
20:33I did some, uh, basket weaving.
20:37Crazy.
20:38I'm definitely taking a risk on this dress, again.
20:41They like it when I take risks.
20:43Why not?
20:44I mean, did you see my last outfit?
20:49Okay, the length is horrible right now.
20:54Mama mia.
20:55Okay.
20:56Look at you.
20:57Okay, this length, you just need, like, about an inch hem on it.
21:00Can you just turn it up an inch and then have another look at it?
21:02Brian loved it.
21:03He really loved it, which is always good to hear.
21:07That's very good.
21:11Before you pin too much there, MG, have a look at it from back here.
21:21You don't like it?
21:22Do you?
21:23It's the neckline I don't like.
21:25Turn to the back.
21:26I had the V, a V line like this.
21:29And after speaking to Brian, we agreed that the dress needed to be a little bit more sexy, you know?
21:34Something like that.
21:35And I can put something across as well.
21:37We played around and, uh, I'm making it a little bit more sexy, like, going on the shoulder.
21:42So it's going to lower everything down.
21:44So we're going to see more of the shoulder and the neck here.
21:47I'm a bit worried about Marie-Jean-Vievre.
21:48I don't really like her dress as much because, I mean, it's beautifully tailored, but the dress is very, very short.
21:56And it's looking a bit grandma to me.
21:59I like that.
22:00Okay.
22:01Um, Lucien, I love this.
22:03Isn't it gorgeous?
22:04I think Lucien made a really ugly dress today.
22:07He's got sparkly boobs.
22:08It looks like a bra popping out of a tube dress.
22:11It just wasn't very Lucien.
22:13I didn't really know what he was doing.
22:14So I'm a little worried for him.
22:15If she doesn't like this, she's got problems.
22:22Vidal's I find a bit inspired by one of my dresses, actually.
22:25He used a technique that I used for Misha's dress, the basket weaving that I had on one side.
22:30And I was kind of surprised and a little pleased because I actually inspire people, which is awesome.
22:36But I would have liked to see some originality from him.
22:39Think it's going to be good?
22:40No.
22:43Don't think that, because it's not.
22:47What can you do to make that dress longer?
22:49Just pull it down.
22:52It's very short.
22:53It was longer.
22:55I just thought it was so long.
22:57Looking at Iman, her best part is just below her knee.
23:01But best parts?
23:02I don't even believe in best parts, you know?
23:04You're dressing a client.
23:05You're not dressing for your collection.
23:07This is a client that has requested a dress.
23:09She's an icon.
23:10She is world stage.
23:12She's going to kick your ass for making a short dress like that.
23:15Nothing to tell you.
23:17Okay, well, let me do a band of this for the hem.
23:22I don't know.
23:23I'll just fit it.
23:24Never mind.
23:25Okay, so, in three hours I can do this.
23:29Not bloody likely.
23:34Hi, guys.
23:35Hello.
23:36Since it's a dress for Iman, why don't we do the hair like she's worn it throughout the shows?
23:40She's had it up in a ponytail with bangs.
23:42She had one day, it was gorgeous.
23:44It was all coming down really, really curly.
23:46I'd love to have the ponytail.
23:47I think that's the most dramatic one.
23:48Okay.
23:49The styling is going to be all about Iman, definitely.
23:52I'll bid you 10 bucks as ponytails today without even saying anything.
23:56So, I thought maybe we can put her hair up as well.
23:59You know, it's more like the ponytail.
24:01A ponytail, but I would like it off the neck.
24:05And for hair?
24:07Tell me.
24:08He wants the ponytail up high.
24:09He wants the ponytail.
24:10Hello.
24:13Hello.
24:14Iman, look, it's easy.
24:15We put a light here.
24:17Eyes are smoky.
24:18He's very, very black.
24:20And she wears a lot of gloss also.
24:22Yeah, yeah.
24:23Very glossy.
24:24Yeah.
24:25Yeah.
24:33Ugh.
24:34More basket weaving.
24:35I've got so much to do.
24:38Are you kidding?
24:39Oh, my God.
24:40It was a little bit short on her, and I had to add a band of the basket weave to the hem.
24:48I've got loads of changes to make.
24:50I had to change the neckline, and it changed the whole dress.
24:54You know, I had to redo all the seams, and plus fitting the dress perfectly on her.
25:00We only have 40 minutes.
25:03Oh, my God.
25:04How am I going to freaking do that?
25:0920 minutes?
25:1120 minutes, Evan.
25:12MG?
25:13You heard me.
25:14I know you did.
25:1520 minutes.
25:16Yeah.
25:17I'm definitely the underdog in this competition.
25:20I'm the only one who hasn't won a challenge yet.
25:23I've been almost kicked out a few times, and now I'm in the top four.
25:29And to get to the top three, yeah, I want it.
25:32I want it bad.
25:34Yep.
25:35Four minutes.
25:38I was quite scared after the last challenge.
25:40It would be rough on me for the first time.
25:42I just want to be safe.
25:45I feel like a heart attack or something.
25:47Stretch your arm up, and it'll pop.
25:51Take a deep breath.
25:54All right, baby.
25:55Your time is up.
25:56You need to leave the room immediately for the runway.
25:58Go.
25:59Yeah.
26:00Do it up on the way out as you're walking,
26:02because you're going to hit the runway right now.
26:04It's time to see who's going home.
26:08Next, on Project Runway Canada.
26:10You haven't succeeded.
26:11This just looks sloppy.
26:12It's amazing.
26:13This was an incredibly difficult decision to make.
26:28Hello, designers.
26:29Hello.
26:30This was your biggest challenge yet.
26:32Create a dress for me.
26:35And in my career, I have modeled for every designer you can imagine.
26:41If you do impress me, you will win this challenge, and I will wear your design to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
26:50Three of you will be the finalists who will show collections, and one of you will be out.
26:58Let's welcome again the judges.
26:59From Elle Canada, Editor-in-Chief Rita Soban.
27:00From Bustle Clothing, Sean Hewson.
27:01And our guest judge, Robin Kaye, the President of the Fashion Design Council of Canada.
27:17Robin is the Executive Director of L'Oreal Fashion Week.
27:20Welcome, Robin.
27:22Ready, everyone?
27:24It's time to start the show.
27:31When I saw my design coming down the runway, I was just ecstatic.
27:35I thought the dress had stage appeal, it had glamour, it had sexiness that Iman is all about.
27:50This is a winner, this is a killer dress. I mean, I can totally see him wearing this.
28:04When I saw Dre coming down the runway, I thought, oh my god, she looks so sexy and pretty.
28:20I was watching Iman's face, and she didn't look like happy.
28:38I thought it was a nice piece. It was glowing, it fit perfect.
28:42It had mass detail that really responded well to the light.
28:50Ash is the most beautiful girl on the runway. I was happy, I was stoked.
29:07Mine stands out from the others, I think simply because it's a very simple kind of silhouette.
29:13I kept looking at the skirt bunching up around her hips.
29:20I think this dress, though, is a really strong look, and I think she might even choose that dress.
29:24Designers, let's bring out your models.
29:44Designers, in general, these dresses did not exceed what I expected.
30:00I think you all played it a tad safe.
30:04Marie Genvieve, tell me about your dress.
30:06I never, like, did any black dresses. It's not like me doing black, and I was like, oh, for this time, you know.
30:13I'm going to try to make a little black dress, you know, for Iman.
30:17And I choose to wear, to use as well, glass beading a little bit, just to make it shinier and a little bit more glamour.
30:24And, you know, so I defined this line as well, and that V as well, which is flattering, I think.
30:29Sean, what do you think?
30:32I like the details. I like the fabric.
30:35The one issue I maybe have with this dress is the straps on the shoulders.
30:38Is it meant to be worn on the shoulders?
30:40Yeah, it's meant to be air to, like, a little bit of the shoulder.
30:42It just looks a little tricky to wear. I got that sense when the model was going down the runway.
30:47Rita?
30:48Well, Marie Genvieve, it's a beautiful dress, but when I picture Iman, I think she can do more.
30:55And I think this dress doesn't really offer her, in the way that I see her, the opportunity to really stand out at an event like Fashion Week.
31:06The shoulder is absolutely wrong for my body type.
31:10It actually narrows the shoulders.
31:13And so that shape will never work on me, and I will never wear it.
31:20Lucien.
31:21You're telling me that you love Dior Galliano, and I started with that idea, but I didn't want to make a Dior dress.
31:27I wanted to incorporate some kind of couture elements, that's why I used the rouging.
31:31The sequins just to give a bit more of a, you know, evening wear feel to the garment.
31:35And then the lace showing underneath the lingerie part.
31:38I chose this color because I found it very, very sophisticated, and I thought it would look stunning on you.
31:42I can definitely see Iman in this dress. I was a little concerned it might be too sexy, but it's beautiful.
31:48Lucien, it's good to see some relative simplicity from you. It's elegant, it's nice.
31:54But I don't see Lucien, based on your work that I've seen over the past few weeks, I don't really see your personality coming through in this dress.
32:00When you design for a customer, it's a bit more personal, so that's why.
32:03I actually do appreciate that. That I do appreciate.
32:06As the model approached through the scrim, and I saw the floating part in the back, I thought this is suitable. This is elegant.
32:14I would like to see more body to the finish on the bottom.
32:18It's too thin on the bottom, that if there could be some other finish to it, maybe under and around.
32:25No, I like it. I like the dress. What I love about it is the back.
32:32It has a movement. It's a very sensual dress.
32:36Steven, tell me what you're thinking about.
32:39This silhouette is something I think is timeless.
32:43It's very chic, it's very elegant, and I think it's also very flattering.
32:48You know, I'm a bit of a minimalist, and I decided to add details just by using the piping to accentuate the design lines.
32:59The colour I chose, because I thought it would look beautiful on your skin.
33:03Well Steven, I like the colour. I think the oyster shade is very elegant, but you haven't succeeded very well with this fabric,
33:11because, as you can see yourself, there's a lot of bunching that's going on. The tailoring is quite imperfect in places.
33:19I see what you've tried to do with the panelling, creating a certain kind of architecture,
33:24which is, you know, in principle good, but I just don't think the execution is there.
33:28I mean, it just looks sloppy. And overall, you know, it's not a stunner, and Iman is.
33:34The silhouette is beautiful. The colour is nice. But we're talking about fashion, people. Everything will be on display.
33:43So, yeah, I wouldn't be comfortable wearing it.
33:49Vidal.
33:51This is the first time I actually spent every minute of the time given on this piece,
33:56because it just took an insane amount of time, and I really didn't know if I was going to finish, but I did.
34:01I'm intrigued. How did he create that weaving in a day?
34:04I know. Look, I did the side pose.
34:06Yeah.
34:07Isn't that good? Yeah, it works.
34:10I think the dress is extraordinarily beautiful. I love the Tuponi Cirque.
34:15I'm worried about her walking about in it, and easily sitting down, because it is a very spontaneous environment at Fashion Week.
34:25I'm going to come out and say this is my favourite dress up here, but it's not for me.
34:29It could be. Well, it's a bit small. Not too late.
34:33You know, like, it's amazing. It's good to see. I actually see some of your design personality coming out of this dress, and that's great to see.
34:40I can also see Iman in the dress.
34:42It looks incredible close up. I mean, truly a masterpiece. But I think Luchin's dress will have a sharper silhouette in photographs,
34:50and that's a very important factor to consider at an event like this.
34:54It's amazing, the workmanship. It's really amazing. I wish I was going to a cocktail party, because all I have to stand up and hold a glass of champagne.
35:02But on that day, I'll be doing a lot of work. It's a beautiful dress.
35:07Designers, please leave the runway while we decide whose dress I will wear, and who will be out.
35:22This is one of the most difficult challenges, I think. And especially because it is for me. So, let's just dive right in.
35:30Luchin, what do we think?
35:32We like Luchin.
35:33That's all she's going to say.
35:35Rita has been Luchinized.
35:36As Sean says, she's Luchinized.
35:37I've been Luchinized.
35:39I sense about Luchin that he has a lot of depth to his ability.
35:44I think this was a beautiful dress. I think he's an amazing talent.
35:48Luchin's I would consider.
35:52Okay, let's talk about Marie-Jean Vievre.
35:54Marie-Jean Vievre, when she thinks classic, she immediately dives into Matronly.
35:59Yes.
36:00This dress was Matronly. She seems to do the best work when she's not restrained in the challenge.
36:06All the designers were given five minutes to talk to me and ask me questions.
36:10Marie used all the five minutes.
36:12I really expected that she was, like, going to nail it.
36:16So, I was very surprised that she would design something for herself.
36:20We need original thought as a designer.
36:22She has original thought.
36:23She does.
36:24She sure does.
36:25That was not it.
36:26She didn't show it here, but, you know.
36:27Then at Fashion Week, I'm going to see a collection that she expects the media will want to see.
36:33No, she will do her thing.
36:35And her thing, I think, is much better than what she's done for me.
36:41Steven.
36:42Go Sean.
36:43Well, he has a point of view.
36:45I don't know if it's something I need to see more of.
36:48Rita.
36:49It's classic, but his tailoring, I always fault him on the tailoring.
36:53He keeps referring to himself as a minimalist.
36:55Minimalist.
36:56Well, if you're a minimalist, Nia's Van Der Rohe, minimalist.
37:00Yeah.
37:01Jill Sander.
37:02Impeccable.
37:03Jill Sander.
37:04You can eat off those clothes.
37:05You can eat off those buildings.
37:06This was a mess.
37:07I think he does have the talent.
37:08And his talent may not be in sewing or construction.
37:13So...
37:14Well, that's a good point.
37:15Is it fair then to judge him by the construction and not the design?
37:18I actually don't hate the dress.
37:21Nothing that he does is something that you hate.
37:22But it is reminiscent of many dresses I've seen.
37:24Oh, absolutely.
37:25It's reminiscent of things I've worn here.
37:30Let's move on.
37:31Vidal.
37:32Vidal is a very accomplished, from what I've seen.
37:35A very accomplished designer.
37:36Yeah.
37:37I think his dress was the best one.
37:38I mean, maybe a little lower in the front.
37:41But, I mean, he brought an idea that I haven't seen before.
37:44I mean, that was amazing.
37:45And he did that in one day.
37:46When he puts his mind to doing something, he, I think, exceeds everyone else.
37:52The challenge also, it's not only what I would wear, but who do we want to see a whole collection from?
37:57Right?
37:58Yes.
37:59That would be the challenge.
38:02I think I know what dress I'm going to wear.
38:05The question now is, who do we want to see more of?
38:10And who have we seen enough of?
38:25One of you has won this challenge.
38:29And one of you will be out.
38:31The three remaining designers will be the finalists.
38:42Each will show a collection at L'Oreal Fashion Week.
38:46Bidel.
38:47The details in your dress are incredible.
38:49Absolutely stunning.
38:51Luchia, the color you chose is gorgeous.
38:54will be the finalists.
38:55Each will show a collection at L'Oreal Fashion Week.
39:04Bedell, the details in your dress are incredible.
39:11Absolutely stunning.
39:14Lucia, the color you chose is gorgeous.
39:22And the form would look stunning on my figure.
39:27Of all the dresses that came down the runway,
39:30there is one that I want to wear,
39:33and it belongs to...
39:41Lucia.
39:42Yes, thank you.
39:44Congratulations.
39:47You have won this challenge.
39:48I will see you at L'Oreal Fashion Week.
39:52All right.
39:53Where I will be wearing your dress.
39:55You may leave the runway.
39:58I was so ecstatic that she chose my dress,
40:01and, I mean, it just suits her.
40:03Winning this was just a gift from heaven.
40:09Videl.
40:10Yes.
40:11Congratulations to you as well.
40:13Am I showing at L'Oreal Fashion Week?
40:15You're gonna make it to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
40:17Sweet.
40:18You are in the final three.
40:18You may leave the runway.
40:19Thanks.
40:20Congratulations.
40:21Congratulations.
40:22It comes down to the two of you.
40:23It comes down to the two of you.
40:24You're gonna make it to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
40:25You're gonna make it to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
40:26Sweet.
40:27You're gonna make it to L'Oreal Fashion Week.
40:28You are in the final three.
40:29You may leave the runway.
40:30You may leave the runway.
40:31Thanks.
40:32Congratulations.
40:33We're in the final three.
40:43Marie-Jean-Bier and Steven, it comes down to the two of you.
40:53One of you will be our third finalist.
40:56And one of you will be out.
41:02This was an incredibly difficult decision to make.
41:09You've made a dress that may be right for your style,
41:17but wrong for my figure.
41:20Steven, we've seen a consistent problem with your design.
41:27Minimalism must be perfect.
41:33And you know that it was not.
41:41Marie Jambier.
41:42Yes.
41:50Congratulations.
41:52You made it to the final three.
41:55We will see your collection at L'Oreal Fashion Week.
41:59You may leave the runway.
42:00Thanks.
42:11It's a surprise for him that I'm still here,
42:13but it's another surprise that you guys are here.
42:17Steven, I'm so sorry.
42:19But it means you don't measure up.
42:25You're good, okay?
42:26You're good.
42:27Thanks for the opportunity.
42:28Fashion stuff.
42:29I think everything happens for a reason.
42:30I just want to try to go out gracefully.
42:31I think everything happens for a reason.
42:32I just want to try to go out gracefully.
42:37Hi.
42:38Hi.
42:39I'm so sorry.
42:40It's okay.
42:41I'm so sorry.
42:42It's okay.
42:43I'm so sorry.
42:44We love you so much.
42:45I love you too.
42:46We love you too.
42:47Oh.
42:48We love you too.
42:49I think everything happens for a reason. I just wanted to kind of go out gracefully.
43:07Hi. I'm so sorry. It's okay. We love you so much.
43:15You're the funnest guy ever. It's all good, right?
43:19Congratulations. I don't know. It's kind of scary thinking that you're just never going to see these people again.
43:28Mr. Bailey. You know what? I was very proud of your dress. I love the color and I thought it was absolutely beautiful.
43:39You are amazing. So let's go down and get that stuff out of there.
43:43Bye, Stephen. Bye. Have fun and fun. Love y'all.
43:46Yes. I just hope they do well. Whoever wins, I just hope that they really make great use of whatever it is that they gain from winning it.
44:02That's all.
44:03Next time on Project Runway Canada.
44:13Boo-chan!
44:14It's going to be the best collection L'Oreal Fashion Week has ever seen.
44:18This is beautiful.
44:19How are you?
44:20I'm really excited to make that collection, you know.
44:23I don't want to take away from the enthusiasm, but I want you to focus.
44:26Good God!
44:26It's me now!
44:27Hey!
44:28I'm planning on winning it. I think it'd be hilarious. So tell me all about this.
44:32You're going to have to use your imagination because I don't have a lot. Get on top of it.
44:36You've got eight weeks. Yeah, it's going to be pimp.
44:39Here we go, guys. Someone's got a hundred grand.
44:42You're four days away from L'Oreal Fashion Week.
44:45Not shabby.
44:46No, no, no.
44:47I'm not sure about this, but you know what? You are so that's what counts.
44:51I'm so over it.
44:53Oh, my God.
44:57Seriously, it's just so upsetting.
44:59One, two, three, four.
45:01Hairspray. Anybody has hairspray?
45:03Okay, look at your line-up. Make sure you're happy with your hands in the pocket.
